- Review: This company has held up their end of the bargain to fix problems but be careful because proving something is a problem is pretty difficult. My furnace unit was making god awful grinding sounds. I called and was told as long as the fan was still working and the house cooling, it was working. Of course, 2 days later (during a weekend) it stopped working because the fan had broken - as the grusome noise had indicated was probable. It then took 4 days to get the AC fixed because nobody works on the weekend apparently. I just called this morning because there is a pool of water under my refrigerator. Similar response - "is the refrigerator cool?". "Yes". "Then it's working and not covered". Oh, and don't call after regular business hours. The answering service is terrible!
- Company Name: American Home Shield (AHS)

- Review: American Home Shield is the pits. I have contacted them twice in recent months and both times concluded that I was wasting my money. The first time was for an ice maker leaking. They told me that while the refrigerator is covered under the warranty, the ice maker (which is built in) is not. Go figure. That was the lesser issue. The second time was for a sewage problem in my basement. I called on a Saturday with sewage spewing all over my basement and was told they were treating this as an "emergency" but they didn't send anybody until Monday night ... over 48 hrs later. The plumber they did send was a hack and accomplished nothing. We paid the $60 deductible and then called our own plumber, who was able to fix the problem in about 2 hours. Don't waste your money on AHS.
