  • Review: We have had a problem with our central air since the start of the cooling season. We have had two techs. from one company, and three techs. from another company come out for repairs. They have cleaned it,added coolant, removed coolant, and chipped away ice on the coils and it still is not working. We have the temp set at 71 degrees, but it never gets that cool. On September 01,2011 at 12:36am the temperature was 81 degrees! We do not even have our HEAT set that high in the winter!! It is quite obvious someone is not doing his/her jobs. I guess quality customer care, and customer satisfaction is no longer an important goal for this company! How sad in this day and age.

  • Review: We have used our policy with HWA 3 times in the last 18 months. First for our stove, then our heater and most recently our AC. All 3 times our units were able to be repaired. Our stove repair was a last minute deal. We were getting ready to host a party and the oven wouldn't heat. The guy came out on a Saturday and although he was a little strange and had to phone a friend and go pick up the part, he got the job done and we were able to cook for our party. The vendor who came to fix our heater sent 2 technicians. The first was dismissive, annoyed and seemed to be too busy for us. They had to wait for authorization to repair the heater (which apparently HWA gave on the first phone call, but the guy didn't listen) and we waited 24 hours to contact HWA again when we hadn't heard anything. They called the company right away and after waiting for the part to come in, the 2nd technician came and repaired the issue. The same vendor was contacted for our AC unit and I had to call them about an hour after they had received the info. They then informed me they no longer do business with HWA. I'm glad I called because I don't think they were going to call me with that info. HWA rep Kim told me she had called and spoken with them when I initially made the claim. Maybe she got a secretary or the answering machine because I would hope they would've divulged that info to her in the first place. Alas that was not the case and I had to call HWA to give them this news. She asked me to give her an hour to locate another vendor (the nearest one they had on file was 75 miles away). She said worst case scenario was that I would have to locate a vendor and see if they would work with HWA rates. This news scared me. I was at work and gave her 2 hours. They sent me a new email with a new vendor on it and that technician was at my house within 45 minutes and had my AC up and running 45 min after that. In the end I'm glad we got the other company out to fix our AC because he did such a quick and amazing job, I would do business with him outside of HWA. There are a few complaints out there about HWA. I haven't had any issues with them yet and would recommend everyone get a home warranty policy. Those 3 repairs cost about $1000 all together. That's more than we paid in policy fees. It's paid for itself and we are grateful.

  • Review: I'm a service tech that preforms warranty work for this company.I have worked for them for numerous years. I read the reviews on a regular basis. Some of the policy holders i can relate to some of the negetive reviews. Some of the comments about the techs sent out are incompetent. That can go both ways,if hsa provides service or the home owner calls own contractor. I have had bad dealings trying to get a claim approved, but on the other hand it has save the person a great savings out of pocket expense. The best thing for new policy owners, READ WHAT IS COVERED AND WHAT IS NOT COVERED.You can get this information on the hsa website. I take pride in what i do. It's not up to the tech, we are not paying the bill. As for showing up, collecting the service fee,and do nothing, we have to have something for driving to your home, diagnos the problem. Some don't agree, but its fair. As for the response to your claim, you have to realize we don't just sit and wait for hsa calls. We try to get to hsa calls as soon as we can.I'm not for hsa, if i could get more hours without working for this company i would not hesitate. Not all techs are incompetent. Thinking of a home warranty, check for reviews. They are pretty much the the same. Done work for american home schield, they are no better. Thanks for reading. Plumber
