- Review: This company is ridiculous. They first sent out a repair person that had no idea what he was doing. It took a month to get my oven fixed and then it broke a few months later over the same issue. When our dishwasher died, they offered us a whirlpool bottom of the line in replacement for our $800 kitchenaid. $330 for something not even close to what we had - policy says same mechanical function and apparently that means it is a dishwasher. Do not, I repeat, do not waste your money with this company. In fact, their policy says they have an arbitration process if you do not agree and their idea of arbitration was to have the same supervisor review the issue and deny it again. Unbelievable!

- Review: I bought my house in November 2010. Immediately things started going wrong. The heat wouldn't turn off, and would heat the house to well over 80 degrees. Called, and they sent someone out who said it was just the thermostat, so they gave me a mercury thermostat. Same thing. I got tired of calling, so let it go. Then my AC would be set at 72 degrees, and could not get the thermostat to go below 78 degrees. Called, someone came and said I just needed to change the filters...3 times they have done that. Once, The guy told me to call back when my AC went completely out because he didn't' want to waste his time. Then my ice maker and water filter on refrigerator stopped working. Called, someone came to fix it...went out 2 weeks later. Called the company again, played phone tag with them for 6 weeks and they claimed to have called me back, but they never called my house or cell. So I had to make ANOThER order on that. This time the guys actually fixed it. Oh, and the AC guy showed up on the wrong day while I was at work and I called at the end of my 4 hour wait time and he said sorry for missing me the day before...it was his mistake! I work full time and took off work to sit at home and wait for the guy...so then I had to sit and wait even longer. I have not been happy. And the customer service does take forever to get through.

- Review: I have used AHS for several years and have been very satisfied up until now. Water heater went out. I contacted AHS immediately and true to form was contacted by one of their contractors. Met them the following day and was told my water heater was a victim of Thermal Expansion. They called AHS and guess what it is not covered. However it would not matter since the unit is under warranty I had to call the manufacturer and guess what it is not covered. I paid my $60.00 service call fee, bought another water heater. I asked the new plumbing company what the cause of failure was and was told it had rusted at the bottom NOT THERMAL EXPANSION. I queried whether the fittings on the water heater were not installed correctly and the answer was they are fine. So here we are $900.00 later. Thinking back when I asked if the plumber was sure of his diagnosis he and his sidekick said no doubt Thermal Expansion. You would think AHS would have offered to get us a second opinion but did not offer. What later was explained by one of their customer service people is if an appliance or any covered item is under manufacturers warranty they don't cover it. This makes sense but I was not told during the sales portion of the contract. I plan to wait til every ting is out of warranty before shelling out anymore $$ to them. Remember it's all about $$$.

- Review: I have been calling and emailing this company for at least a week regarding my clothes dryer. The other reviews are accurate when they say emails are being returned as undeliverable and telephone lines has a constant busy signal. This is definitely a sign that the company is probably out of business. I had filed a claim previously regarding my A/C in the midst of summer and it took 4 days before I received a call from the service contractor. Thank goodness it starting working by simply turning on switch. However several people including their contractors have warned me to terminate the contract because they dont pay for claims.

- Review: I have had this home warranty for two years now and was leaning towards renewing it once again this year when it expired. Until I opened by renewal letter and read that my deductible would be raised again this year from $75 dollars to $100 dollars. The first year it was $50.I have had to replace my hot water tank already after they sent one company out to my house a total of four times and they never fixed anything. I called and complained and demanded another company be sent out. They finally told me it needed to be replaced. This was all happening in the dead of winter. OR did not care a bit that I didnt even have hot water to take a bath while they kept giving me the runaround. I think one of the biggest problems are the companies they choose to contract with. They send out the worst repairmen who obviously dont have a clue what they are doing. I also feel like because its a warranty call, they do the bare minimum because they are not able to charge you an arm and a leg for their services. I would not recommend Old Republic to anyone. They do not care about their customers. They only care about keeping money in their pockets and raising your deductibles every year for horrible service all around.

- Review: Purchase our home 8 months ago with this warranty. What a joke! After numerous $60 service fees on top of the original cost of the warranty, we have received zero in compensation for a/c repair and duct work problems. Both were 'covered'. I'm investigating class action lawsuits against this company and talking to our lawyer. This company needs to be stopped!

- Review: I have been with OR for 4 years. I've called a total of 8 times. Three of the eight weren't covered for one reason or another on the phone. I had 2 calls that were handled the same day the service tech came out. Which I am happy with. Every time I had to fight with the customer service rep to get some one out because they try to find a reason for the repair not to be covered. Once some one does show, they are usually the worst possible repair man one could ask for. The repair people never bring materials to actually fix the problem. They just look for a reason not to cover it. In 2006, my a/c quit blowing hot air. A repair man said the unit needed a part and they would call me back. After a week I finally called the repair man. The repair man said he turned it over to OR to find the part. So I called OR for 2 days before I finally got someone on the phone. OR said they were still looking for a part and they would call me back within 48 hours. I finally called OR after 72 hours. I couldn't get a straight answer and finally got on the phone with a manager who said I would need a new unit and they would ship a unit to the repair men but I would have to pay for the labor. I finally agreed and it still took 3 more weeks to get the unit replaced. It's now 2010 and the inside unit is having trouble. The repair man who came out said it won't be covered because the pan hasn't been maintained. I want to know why 2 years ago no one told me this pan needed to be maintained. Needless to say I am switching to another company ASAP!

- Review: Everyone who has this company drafting your account through a debit card BEWARE... I had to cancel my debit card and have a new one issued to stop them from pulling money out of my account, if you can get your banks fraud department to put a stop on any transactions from them, you will be better off. If you ask them to cancel the policy or ever tell them you do not want to renew they will continue to take money from you...THEY ARE CRIMINALS RUNNING A SCAM OUT OF A SMALL APARTMENT IN NEW YORK. WE NEED TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST THEM. IF THERE ARE ANY ATTYS. OUT THERE LOOKING FOR A SURE THING, THIS WOULD BE IT!!! I HAD ALL THE INFORMATION THEY ASKED FOR AND ALL THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS AND I STILL CANNOT GET THEM TO DO WHAT THE CONTRACT STATES THEY SHOULD BE DOING.

- Review: I would urge everyone with a bad review for this company to file a complaint with the "New York State Atty. General Andrew M. Cuomo Bureau of Consumer Frauds and Protection" @ 120 Broadway, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10271-0332. Fax# 212-416-8787. I have filed mine. I had the proper maintenance records and still cannot get the repairs completed with this company. The contractor says they tried to get him to come up with a cheaper solution than replacing my a-coil and they are refusing to replace my compressor, stating that the contractor told them it worked fine the first time he came out and that it was our fault that it went out. The contractor states that he never said that and is willing to made a 3-way call to them but now whenever I call to speak with the same supervisor "Mark", he is never there. I have been told 7 times that I would receive a call back and have never received a call from this company, they just denied and closed my claim and I did not find that out til I called them several times and demanded a supervisor. If you cannot get anyone to answer your call, try another phone line...I started *67 calling them and get through quicker as well...they have caller ID and if they know who it is, you will sit on hold til you give up. REPORT THIS COMPANY TO THE STATE OF NEW YORK AND LETS GET A CLASS ACTION SUITE GOING!!!

- Review: I wish there was a score of ZERO! We have had to call AHS 2 times and wasted our money paying for service calls. The first time we used our washer in our home the drain pipe was clogged and flooded our laundry room. The repair men did nothing and said the spin cycle water pressure coming out of the washer is too high so we now have to settle on washing our clothes low spin cycle so the water drains out slowly and has time to get out the pipe. Makes is hard to dry towels and blankets though b/c there is so much water left in them. The second time they came out was to look at our air conditioner which doesn't cool our house. The inside unit which goes into our attic was "not easily accessible" by the repair man and therefore he was not obligated to fix it. We again paid him for nothing and hired our own repair man who got right to it!

- Review: This is a scam and a rip-off type of home warranty,. They will trick you with everything they have. Just call a plumbing company and they will tell you about them…..I called a plumbing company that does work with all kinds of home warranties across the nation, and they were very helpful. They told me that this is a scam company, and they will never pay for anything,……. their exact words were, stay away from them…………………stay far away If anyone, beside myself, has had problems getting Nationwide Home Warranty to pay/settle claims on things covered under your contract, it's worth while in contacting the following to register complaints against them.
