- Review: Funny enough, I had an experience that was almost identical to the one that Dennis Cronin had in his post on 05/04/11. Charlotte Air Experts came to my home on 5/7/11. I have actually had this service for 7 years or more. I purchased it when I purchased my house. My house was a new construction, but I wanted to be safe. For 3 straight years, I have had Charlotte Air Experts out because my A/C wasn't working. Each time, I was told that my unit was low on freon. My question is where did that freon go? He simply put more in and was done. He's the "EXPERT", so I was fine as long as I had cool air. After the second year out, they did the same thing. Another $75 deductible for the same issue...sounds like they didn't fix the problem the first time, but I didn't raise a stink because I just wanted the problem fixed. The THIRD time they came out, I noticed the problem had become progressively worse. The drip pan in my attic had started to fill with water. On their previous visits, they never checked the unit in the attic, so I insisted they he do so, although he's the EXPERT. My evaporator coils were rusted and corroded. Based on what I found in my research, it is likely due to a FREON LEAK. So by not addressing the leak and just refilling my system, they allowed my problem to get worse to the point where Total Protect can now deny my claim. It's not blistering hot, but I have kids and we're in North Carolina...it's just a matter of time. The customer service agents were rude and smug and seemed to be enjoying herself while talking to me. They're awful and I feel like I was conned. They put a bandaid over my problem until it became a gaping wound and now they don't want to take responsibility.
