  • Review: I just got the Total Protect Warranty service two months ago. They are very friendly but not upfront until it is time to pay a claim. I called to get a maintenance service. I specifically told them that the lights in the exhaust above the stove do not work and would that be cover under electric or that appliance. They told me that it will be cover under the appliance. After coming out and checking everything, the worker stated that he would file a claim for the exhaust. A week later I find out that he never filed and TotalProtect stated that since the exhaust part works and the lighting is not covered. I explained that the light bulbs were changed and it still doesn't work so it is part of the system. They refused to cover it. This is just a sign that things are going to go south everytime I put in a claim especially after reading everyone else's reviews. So cancelled!!!

  • Review: Called AHS to fix my A/C, guy came out charged it with freon, tested and said the coils had to be replaced. Left and I got a call from the service company telling me that it's not covered and it would cost me $500.... I called AHS and they said it's not covered. I asked if they monitor the prices the service company they dispatch out and they said no.. The service company was inflating the price big time and let me 2 choices, pay or refuse the service.. Sucks!

  • Review: I have had First American since I purchased my home back in 2001 so I kept them on for 9 years. Some years I didn't even call to submit claims. When a few items started needing repairs in the last year, such as electrical, dishwasher and AC, I really began to notice how awful it was to deal with them and the companies they contracted out to deal with repairs. Some never performed any fixes nor addressed the issues I even called about. Most tried to blame issues on something else which usually meant I would pay for them. They will try anything not to fix an issue that's for sure. I kept all receipts for repairs, service records, etc. because I never trusted them. Mostly it takes 10 calls back & forth to get one issue resolved and most of the time they won't approve repairs which their contractors are happy to tell you ahead of time. They have even had to place complaints against their own contractors because some have been downright incompetent. This warranty company has become my biggest headache and I don't understand how after 9 years of keeping them that they would treat me this way now when I really needed them. I feel like I've been scammed and find all my experiences with them unjust. There should be stricter laws to protect the consumers. We pay them hundreds for peace of mind which never comes when you need them. In the end I've ended up paying for 80% of most of the repairs because I had renters who were getting upset with me because these issues/repairs were getting prolonged and unresolved and because they just flat out denied most claims. If you don't want to spend your days tied up with phone calls, bad news and no results then avoid this company at all cost. Being loyal to them obviously doesn't help either.

  • Review: The worst "home warranty" company I have ever delt with. I have had several in the past and this is by far the worst. Terrible contracted repair companies that are not professional or have new journeymen. Have spoke to office manager at RAM and would not solve the problem. I did make some headway when I read their own contract over the phone to them along with the help of a paralegal prior to them changing their mind. Dont be fooled by the low $40.00 deducatable! Its not worth it. Getting them to cover a screw or bolt is almost impossible. Standby for the denied claim or the "Pre-existing" issues that are not covered. Save your money and go with "Fidelity" or just pay cash out of your pocket. DO NOT USE RAM HOME WARRANTY ! ! !

  • Review: I have a dryer that is covered, at extra expense, by a RAM home warranty contract. One night while drying some clothes, the dryer actually broke into flames. I called RAM and they had a technician out the next business day. The technician was very knowledgeable and informative. He completely took the dryer a part looking for the cause of the fire. Because the damage was so extensive he was unable to identify the part or parts that had failed. When he finished his examination he called RAM. They spent most of the time trying to figure out if I had done anything to cause the damage. For example, did I fail to clean the lint out from under the dryer, was the vent pipe clear and had I misused the dryer for something else. After they finished he handed me the phone and Lucy said that the dryer would not be covered because in their contract it says “Does not cover repairs or replacements as a result of fire, flood, smoke, nuclear incidents, acts of god, lighting” and so forth. Any thinking person can understand that this sentence is referring to something happening that is beyond your control. I explained that the dryer malfunctioned first and that the fire was caused by that malfunction. Lucy said that she would have to talk to someone and call me back. It took almost two days for her to call me back. They denied the claim based on that sentence. I have no issues with RAM’s ability to dispatch a repair technician; however, I’ve discovered that RAM’s Home Warranty is essentially just a discount repair program. If they worked as hard as they do, not to pay a claim, on your behalf it would be a lot better. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

  • Review: I purchased a warranty from this company and have had three claims with them. One of them was never serviced by a technician, so i finally gave up. The other two I had to place multiple calls before I was able to get a technician. Finally when a technician came out, both times the claim was denied. Prior to Choice Home Warranty, I had a policy with Fidelity Home warranty that my agent purchased for me. They were much easier to get a long with, and actually provided a service. If you are going to spend money on a home warranty, don't waste the money on Choice, you will get nothing for your money.

  • Review: They really don't seem to cover much of anything. They have no problem taking your money, though. I have had 3 bad experiences to date and have just cancelled. It took me 9 years before I had to use them, then, when I did need to use them they came up with all sorts of exclusions, hidden in the fine print. What a ripoff firm. They should be closed down.

  • Review: In the San Diego area, Fidelity uses a repair company which seems to consist of a guy, his wife, and a couple of relatives. They're based in North County, and as I'm in South County, responsiveness can be tricky - which I totally understand. What I can't understand is the absolutely crippling inability to schedule effective service calls. Our dishwasher died on 2 Feb. We reported it on 3 Feb. It's now 26 Feb, and after four appointments, we still don't have a functioning dishwasher. This isn't one of those "head-scratching mystery" problems either - once the technician actually got a look at the machine, the diagnosis - "bad pump motor" - was pretty clear. The problem was that the Fidelity repair contractor a) blew off their first appointment; b) took a week to reschedule; c) after diagnosing, it took them over a week to get the part; d) when the technician came to install the part (a new motor & pump), he was unable to move the dishwasher, having apparently not noticed during his previous visit that it was full of water; and e) after coming back w/ another technician to move the dishwasher and replace the pump/motor assembly, he left without testing the dishwasher (which, OF COURSE, immediately threw a "bad pump" error as soon as we tried to use it). So now I'm waiting... again... for another repair visit. They say you're judged by the quality of your friends. If a home warranty company is judged by the quality of their repair contractors, RUN - do not walk - to ANY OTHER home warranty company. (BTW, I gave them a "2" for customer service because one CSR at Fidelity totally commiserated with this ludicrous situation. Didn't change anything, just felt vindicating.)

  • Review: I used to have a policy with first american but after there lack of service no contractors available to come out i switch to national home protection and found a much better policy with the very best service anyone can ask for. i am a picky person when it comes to things like this but when reviewing there policy when i got they cover everything that makes the unit run which is something that other company just do not do plus when i spoke to Jeff Michaels (ext 7229) he knew what he was talking about and did not hesitate on anything i had a question about. All of you people do yourself a favor and go with a company that really covers claim call NHP and buy one of there policy thats one mistake you wont make
