- Review: I intially chose SHW after reading more positive online reviews than normal. All of these home waranty services seem to have mixed reviews, but SHW had the least negative posts and were among the lowest deductibles. Also, since a year of home waranty service came with the purchase of my new house, I assumed that I would just keep them for the year and then be done with it. What did I have to lose? Well, my renewal was last month and I signed up for two more years. In the year that I've subscribed to SHW's service, I've used it 5 times which means that it has more than paid for itself. Call#1: My pool plumbing was leaking around the pump so I called as soon as I saw it. They took my info down, and a pool service called just hours later. Since it wasn't an emergency, I didn't mind that they came two days later. I didn't even have to be there, and he even spray painted the replacement pipe for me. I just left the check for the $45 deductible, they fixed it, and I was a very satisfied customer. Call#2: My toilet was running and had to have the flapper replaced. I've replaced many of them before, but it would have cost me $45 in just parts, gas, and time. So why not call SHW and get it done professionally? After calling SHW, a plumber called me back in four days. I was a little irritated that it took the plumber so long, but since it wasn't an emergency, it was not that big of a problem. They came two days later and took care of it. The only issue that I have is that they went ahead and replaced the valve on the wall (which was nice, and not the part I have an issue with), but they didn't put the bezel on before replacing it. So now I have this pipe sticking out of the wall. Fortunately, it's down behind the toilet, and I'm sure they would have taken care of it had I brought it to their attention. Call#3: Another portion of my pool plumbing started leaking. Again, the pool guy came out and I didn't have to be there. I left the check for the $45 and it was taken care of. The only issue I had was that the guy didn't spray paint the new pipe. It was not a big deal though. A $3 rattle-can and it was done. Call#4 My heat pump started making this nasty shreaking sound. I was sure it was the motor. From reading all of the reveiws of the other home warranty companies, I knew that heat pumps and A/C units were, by far, the most turned down issue even though they are supposedly covered. So I called them up and braced myself to be rejected. I had no issues and had an A/C company called me up a day later. They came out and sure enough, it was the motor. The A/C person took it out and had to go to his shop for another one. He came back later that day and installed the new one. No issues. Call#5 My pool pump started tripping the breaker, so I called up SHW. For some reason they had a plumbing company call me. The plumbing company told me that I should call them back and request a pool company. That was a small inconvenience since it added a couple days of time to the whole issue, but if they're fixing it for $45, I can put up with a couple of extra days. The pool company sent someone out to look at it. I though that they would replace the motor, but he ended taking it out and taking it to the shop. They rebuilt it and had it back in the next day. Not bad for $45. I'm sure you can see the re-ocurring theme. Every time I have called, they have taken care of my issues. They have always been easy to work with and are very courteous. But, sometimes it takes a day, or two, or three, or maybe even four for the service people to get out to your house. I think you can pay extra for an emergency issue, but I haven't had one yet (knock). For $45 per visit, I'm deffinately not complaining. I know that I should include the monthly fee when I talk about cost, but as I said, it has paid for itself so I don't include it. Everything from now through the end of my two year service is now gravy.

- Review: Don't waste your money on this company! I recently had a problem with my heater/air conditioner. Originally, my AC guy thought the problem was a breaker. The electrician that AHS sent out should have his license revoked. (This was confirmed by the subsequent contractors that actually fixed my problem, which wound up costing me $2000.) After he disconnected numerous items that were not even affected, he went into my attic and then said "I had a code violation" and produced burning wires (which were not present the day before when my A/C guy inspected.) This was after he carried additional wires into my attic (suspect). He advised me that he would have to contact AHS to see if the problem was covered. He said "he didn't have time to call them right away" and could not assure me my house was safe. It turns out my house was not safe; he left exposed burned wires in my attic, which by all accounts should have burned my house down. He also broke several items on my compressor. He just wanted to leave and did not ask for his "service" fee which is understandable based on the additional damage he caused. I immediately notified AHS and there only answer was to get a "2nd opinion". The contractors they employ are instructed to look for reasons to not cover items. One contractor told me that they never "replace" items as the contract states. I just received a "reminder bill" from AHS that I owe them $60 for his diagnosis. I let them know there is no way I will pay it, and I will contact every news station and internet review site I can possibly find to caution other homeowners of these practices. They put me and my home in an extreme fire hazard but yet they still want $60 from me??

- Review: Sensible is great! I have begun receiving notices from ServiceOne telling me my warranty is expiring soon, and I should renew. Thanks, ServiceOne; I'll be renewing my warranty with Sensible when the time comes. I also want to thank you for validating Sensible's warranties. Sensible costs less annually; covers more, and their service fee is ten dollars less. I've used my warranty with Sensible three times this year; every time Sensible delivered. This is my third home with a warranty in ten years; Sensible is the best!

- Review: This company is terrible, Terrible, Terrible. I have had then for two years and never had a good experience. I will not be renewing. What ever warranty repair you need, they will send out the cheapest most incompetence company to do it. The plumber they sent out didn't clean up after himself, left water all over the floor and took a clamp with him I needed to connect the drier. So after I was done mopping up I had to go to home depot and get another. Technically the leak was fixed. The other problem I had was a roof leak. After the first visit the roof was leaking again as soon at the next rain. I called fidelity and they said they only covered one roof repair and so I was out of luck. I said that clearly the problem wasn't fixed. same exact leak, same exact spot. So I called the company they sent out. they had a one year warranty on work so I was able to use that to get them to fix it again. This I did on my own with no help from fidelity. It just rained again this week. The leak is back. Same leak, Same place. Do not use this company. You are a fool if you do. Just read the reviews. These people perform no service other ten taking your money. They are true bottom feeders and I'm a dummy for not researching them before I sent them a check.

- Review: I had a plumbing leak in a hot water pipe inside of a wall. This company would not cover drywall repair because I the homeowner opened the drywall not the plumber. Either way the drywall would have had to be opened. I opened the drywall to prevent further water damage by placing a bucket under the leak. Less than $ 100 dollar repair for drywall.

- Review: I've twice used my Home Warranty on a forty-year-old block home. Both times Sensible was quick to respond to my issues. They authorized using any AC company, as my first issue was on the coldest day of the year in AZ. The second call, the vendor responded quickly, and did a thorough job. I researched quite a few companies before buying my warranty; excellent choice to go with Sensible.

- Review: January 13, 2011 to be continued! #1 of ???? We bought a house in June, 2010, and this company was chosen to be the warranty contract issuer with the purchase. We immediately had a problem with plumbing - the first company sent out was inept and could not do the work; the second company, fortunately could, and these technicians were professional and courteous, as opposed to the first selected plumbing company. Then (we are in AZ) when the AZ outdoor temperatures fell in late December, we turned out heat pump on (the ac aspect of the unit had worked well). No heat - the exterior fan ran, the blower fan, when manually turned on, ran, but no heat. So on December 31 (Friday) we put in a call. At this point our interior temperatures were dropping below 60 degrees F. Customer Support contacted one of their HVAC contractors - who my wife ultimately had to contact the following Monday and when she did, they were nothing but rude to her. My wife called FN back, and requested another company, and yes, the request was granted. The new HVAC subcontracter called my wife, seemed very nice, and we thought we were going to get the heat pump fixed (probably needs a reversing valve). However, when my wife met the tech that following Friday he came in, told her he would fix the problem, and went up on the roof (roof mounted unit) and proceeded to intentionally blow out the blower motor. He filled our house with smoke and then came back and told her he intentionally did it as it would not last long. He then said he couldn't immediately replace it because he didn't have the motor with him he needed. Problem is, the blower motor was not the issue to begin with! The unit was not CREATING heat, the blower motor worked! So the tech came back the following week and replaced the blower motor, and we still do not have a working heat pump. (I assume this is a high-dollar charge to Fidelity, which is why he did this). Now, AFTER he worked on the roof-mounted unit to replace the high-dollar blower motor, he can't work on it again, because it's too dirty with pidgeon droppings! My wife, who is typically very calm and non-confrontive, spoke to a Fidelity Autorization agent, who is where-ever in an office, proceeded to tell my wife we had a pidgeon infestation and that we had to get a certified company out to clean the unit! Poppycock! This is a smokescreen by both the unscrupulous subcontractor and Fidelity! My wife was furious! I called Fidelity, and the first time the authorization department put me on hold and hung up on me before we even had a conversation! I called back, got through, and finally talked to an authorization agent - I let him know that the demands of the subcontractor were both unreasonable and unrealistic, and they did not have a contractual legal right to make such demands - I received no argument from them. I also told them about the actions of the HVAC tech, and they basically said they had been doing work with the company for a long time, and didn't want to hear it - I told them again they need to know what they are being charged for (they/he seemed not to really care - hard to get good help these days, huh!). Anyway, during that convesation he talked to a supervisor, and we came to an agreement that I would clean the unit (have to do some disassembly) and email them pictures of the work so they would know the unit was clean. I did this yesterday, very meticulously vacuuming, hosing, and cleaning and sanitizing too with a solution of bleach water and Mr Clean anti-bacterial cleaning liquid. I tested the unit before and after with exactly the same results and then wrapped it in new painters plactic so would be kept completely clean when "somebody" comes to work on it. I have sent these with the narrative as was agreed on 01/12/2011- we'll see what happens next. Today is the 13th of January and it has been two weeks since we called, and we still do not have heat. Fortunately the overnight temperatures have risen some and it isn't quite as uncomfortable as it was, and fortunately, so far none of our household has yet gotten sick!

I waited and waited and am still waiting for the check to come in the mail! They totally use their customers, contractors, and probably anyone else they can get sucked into their little con game. So frustrating!!!!! Do not do business with company and save everyone a lot of frustration including yourself!

- Review: Excellent pricing and coverage is more extensive than most home warranty companies. Polite customer service reps and very good follow-up by Choice when a service request is made. Companies used are excellent- better than my previous home warranty company. Took a while to get reimbursed for a garagae door opener but received in the end. Only annoying issue I have had is in the renewal process- too many phone calls and emails about renewing early. One person called three times and was quite rude when I said I was not ready to renew; all others have been polite. I do plan to renew but not 2 months early. Have recommended company to a realtor. Positives definitely outweigh the few negatives.

- Review: HMS National Home Warranty was contacted over 2 weeks ago to replace a hot water heater. They sent out a service repair contract plumber who arrived not even knowing what he was coming out for 8 hours after he was supposed to show up. Plumber never returns calls. Says HMS has to give us our options. When calling HMS they blame the delay on the plumber. HMS has quoted me anywhere from $75 only just for the service fee to $220. The plumber says they turned in a out of pocket cost to HMS for over $621. They go back & forth; neither seems to tell the same story. Neither returns calls. They seem to be in cahoots and want the caller to either pay the exorbatant fee or get frustrated and repair it on their own without coverage. Stay away from this fraudulent schister!!! They are liars and theives!

- Review: I just signed up w/NHP on 1/28/09, four units total. My washer is acting up, had a contractor come out on 3/7/09, they assessed it is cheeper to replace. I have been trying to find out status, of the claim, and they keep telling me they are waiting a call back, from the contractor, which is not even the right contractor. The original contractor, they assigned to my claim, will not do business with NHP anymore, so I called back and they gave me a new contractor. Apparently they do not update their revisions. They supposedly have contacted the original contractor, even though I advised them that it is not the contractor that actually came out, assessed the claim, and took my $45.00 check. As of today, 3/26/09,I have not gotten status on my claim, infact, when I called today, Haylee hung up on me. I called my credit card company and am disputing the monthly charges. Also, they have the impression that they cover water heaters, on their websitet, showing the available plans, under "major system plan" they have water heater checked, read their contract, "HOLDING TANKS" are not covered, that is the water heater. These guys are really tacky. I have left several messages, for a manger, good luck on getting one, or anyone to return your calls, once you sign up. My sales rep promised me two free service calls, and $50.00 Home Depot gift card, on each contract, they did not provide. Tried to contact them regarding this, no call back. If you do choose to try your luck, get EVERYTHING, in writing, before you hand out your payment info PLEASE!

- Review: This company DOES eventually service your home - but the headache of getting them to come out in a timely manner, not giving you your free service calls or Home Depot cards is completely aggravating. I have had this company on a rental home for two years, and am still waiting for two free Home Depot cards and a $45 refund they said they would put right in the mail - to no avail. I will NOT renew with this company. They lie - look elsewhere for your home warranty.
