  • Review: Around 8-10 months after moving into my home I filed 2 claims with AHS. One was to repair my double ovens, the second was to repair my dish washer. AHS was unable to repair my ovens so they sold me a stove at their cost less a discount for my broken ovens. They also sent a company out to repair my dishwasher. A short time later & called the company that supposedly repaired my diswasher & told them the problem still existed - the dishwasher stops at a specific place in the cycle & continually pumps water on my dishes until I manually advance the dial. They ordered a part & a few weeks later came & installed it. A few days later I called them & said the problem was not fixed. The repair company said there was nothing else they could do about it. I called AHS immediately & was told that my warranty expired so they wouldn't cover it any longer, even though there was an open claim that had been filed during the warranty period. AHS so no...case closed. I've been waiting around for 5 years for the class action law suit to assist me in purchasing a new dishwasher since the old one can not be repaired. My water bill is over $100/month, & I'm on a small fixed income. When I called AHS to ask when I can expect some type of assistance, they said I would have to pay $360 for a new warranty. Right! Buy a NEW warranty with a company that wouldn't acknowledge their OLD warranty. Of course they understand my frustration. They couldn't possibly. I will never get an AHS warranty again. There are reputable companies to use. Their complaints alone make it clear they don't give a rip about caring for their customers.

  • Review: This company is a joke!!! The gas company found a gas leak in our furnace and turned the gas off for safety. I immediately (as soon as the gas person left) called First American to initate a claim. It took many calls by both myself and the contractor over four weeks just to get First American to send an order to the warehouse for the new furnace. When the contractor went to the warehouse to pick up the furnace, it turns out First American never did send the order to the warehouse. It took several more weeks of calling the contractor and the First American to ensure the order was sent to the warehouse. Finally, after 6 weeks of no heat or A/C (temps have gone up to 94), the order was confirmed by the warehouse and the warranty company turns around and cancells our appointment due to an emergency!! WTF!! With 2 small kids in the house and temperatures dipping down to the 40s we have had to use space heaters for heat. We are still w/out a furnace - hoping for a resolution.

  • Review: We have used AHS three times, once on a house we were selling, and twice on our new house. Of the three times, AHS refused to provide service twice, but still expected us to pay the "copay." We managed to get our copay refunded the first time, because we were misled as to what was covered. The second service call was a complete joke. Our dishwasher developed a hole and was leaking into our kitchen. The technician said it appeared that some piece of flatware conducted heat onto the fiberglass and burned through it. He recommended replacing it. I expressed my disbelief, but he reported this to AHS and they would not cover any repairs. The final service was on our garbage disposal. I requested service online, and was called by the service rep within 15 minutes. The company came out that afternoon and told us the disposal was burned out and would need to be replaced. They bought and installed the new disposal, but would not hook up the electrical or fix a loose discharge pipe without an extra $129 fee (we opted to do this ourselves). The tech also took the box, instructions, and warranty information with him when he left, so we have no proof of purchase or instructions if something goes wrong. My advice--read your warranty carefully, and check with AHS when you make the call to see what could be covered. I would not recommend the service, nor will I renew. The last tech out told us that the company is a scam, and that his company loses money on almost every AHS call.
