- Review: WARNING! I called this company who I hold a policy through because 2 months after I bought the house my electric went crazy. It was like a strobe party in my house. I checked my policy and it said this was covered. I called and asked whom I was speaking to and he asked, well who the hell am I speaking with. Rude customer service. I then told him the problem he continued to be rude and said they wouldn't cover his, over the phone diagnosis of my problem. I said isnt this a fire hazzard. employee 310 (I never got a name) told me oh no its not. The next day my fuse box was completely melted. I called again and asked for a supervisor and he told me I didnt need to speak with one and I was hung up on. After 4 more attemps and 4 more hang ups, I got a call back from a suposed supervisor who was just as rude, who told me I had to pay for it to be fixed, then send them a reciept, and they would determine if it was covered. Which again he diagnosed it over the phone and said it would be turned down. COme to find out My family and I were in danger of a fire and it should have been covered as specified in my policy. btw, there over the phone diagnoses was wrong. I have never been treated like that. BUYERS BEWARE! I do intend to seek further help in this matter due to that fact I am obviously not the only one they have gladly taken money from and have not provided the service paid for.. This company May claim its complicated but it sure takes your money with a smile and then when you need anything that would cost them a dime they are rude and down right mean!

- Review: HSA is a worthless, bottom-feeding, oxygen-stealing, bag of monkey-dung. And, no, I will not sugar-coat it! LOL The day cannot come soon enough when my current subscription expires and I rid myself of these parasitic, life-sucking cretins. They mysteriously never have more than one available repair contractor who usually has received poor reviews themselves.....interesting how that works. They actually argued with me over the weather (and how hot it was) when my AC went out in August and they advised that the nearest repair contractor was 70 miles away in a city of 5,000 people....I live near a city of one million people but all those supposed contractors were "over-booked". HSA has a special place in hell reserved just for them.

- Review: After we found that the spa in our new home did not heat properly, we contacted HWA. The vendor they assigned us did not proceed with the repair in a timely way after the initial consultation, and when HWA called us to confirm if the repair had been made, they switched us to a different vendor (who was timely, professional, and competent). After reading many negative reviews about home warranties, including HWA, I was very pleased with the efficient, courteous, and competent customer service HWA provided, particularly when following up and assigning us a second vendor.

- Review: Dear CEO, Robert Lehmann: We renewed our warranty with HSA because we didn't know better, not because you did a stellar job in our first year with you. We didn't have a need for a Home Warranty service in our first year. Therefore, we ignorantly defaulted to what was handed to us when we purchased our new home. We have now learned to shop around before doing things like that: ask others who they use, read reviews online, and survey our possibilities. Therefore, basing your success on the number of renewals is not always a good judgment of your success and customer's satisfaction.

- Review: After our first year in our new home, my husband and I decided to renew our warranty with HSA for one more year. We thankfully didn't need to use them in our first year, but new our A/C was heading down hill, so decided better safe than sorry. We are SO sorry we went with HSA again as opposed to shopping around to different warranty companies other than what was handed to us when we bought our house. We have had a terrible experience with them. In upper 80 degree waether, our A/C crashed on May 20th and it wasn't until June 7, we learned it will be repaired on June 9th (3 weeks later). HSA did not return any phone calls they said they would, they did not have information in a timely manor, and when they learned that I was pregnant and living in an 85 degree house and said they would move this to top priority, we saw no increased action or follow-thru. All in all, we are highly disappointed in HSA and will not recommend this company to anyone. We have already gotten in touch with our realtor to advise them to suggest alternative home warranty companies to their clients. There are good warranty companies out there. HSA is NOT one of them.

- Review: I have had exact same situations as all people on here. I purchased warranty for a new home I bought in October 2009, a few months later they paid for a minor garbage disposal claim. In May 2010 (I had paid for the whole year upfront), my air conditioner went out. That is when they came up with this, sorry we no longer service Indiana. Hah! I said, I have a contract with you! They gave me the run around for a couple of weeks, but since it was 90 degrees out, I ended up getting it fixed on my own. They told me they would pro rate my refund, but that never happened. I filed with New York State Attorney General and the BBB. Nothing happened with that either. Thank you Jane Sullivan, as I just left a message with your attorney because I would very much like to participate in the lawsuit and will help in any way!

- Review: This company is a joke, we have a 22 year old boiler system in our house as our ONLY source of heat, the boiler stopped working on Tuesday morning, I called a repair man (not through the home warranty initially, because I was just trying to get someone there ASAP) he came and couldn't repair, another repairman came back on Wednesday and said the boiler wasn't holding water and he didn't know why, but he suspected a pipe leak under the house in the slab. At which point we called our home warranty and informed them what was going on. The representative we initially spoke with attempted to be helpful, so we thought. We had to have their repair man come out and tell us the same thing the prior two already had. That the boiler wasn't holding water which we already knew. But we paid their deductible, and went by their rules. The last 2 repair men both told us the boiler would be a very expensive fix and we could just install a heat pak into our central AC unit for about a $1,000 less and it would be much quicker for us. At this point it was 11, (yes 11) degrees outside, I am 9 months pregnant, and it was 44 degrees in our house. This company tried to force us to have a leak detection company come out to find the leak, then have the floor jack hammered up to find out why the pipe was leaking. But they wouldn't pay for the jack hammering or repair of the floor, and proceeded to tell me if the leak was caused by "misuse or abuse" of the system, then it wouldn't be covered. When I asked the rep how exactly I could possibly "abuse or misuse" a pipe under the concrete floor, or my boiler system for that matter, she couldn't give me an answer. She merely kept repeating herself and reading the contract. At this point we were coming up on day 3 with no heat in our house, and they agreed to pay $400 toward a forced heating system, when they said we were covered for $1500 toward the boiler. When I asked why they would pay only $400 toward the cheaper, more efficient, and quicker option, I was told to take it or leave it, but if I chose that option it would make any and all coverage of the boiler null and void. Two hours later we found that the forced air couldn't be installed in our central air unit because they didn't make that model anymore. So I called back and said we needed to go ahead with the leak detection company. At that point I was told that payment to the leak detection company couldn't be guaranteed until they find out why the pipe is leaking, but that couldn't happen until the leak was located.....I was also informed that they don't cover frozen pipes, so if our pipes froze and busted (due to them dragging their feet) that it would not be covered.....AGAIN, I'M 9 MONTHS PREGNANT, and they didn't care at all..... They refused payment to the leak detection company, which meant our leak couldn't be repaired, and they wouldn't pay anything....again, not caring one bit that there could be a newborn in the house at any time. And they also proceeded to tell me that the contract couldn't be cancelled and that they would continue to take my money and not pay for anything at all, EVER! This company is a HUGE scam, and I will make sure to tell everyone I encounter NOT to waste their money on this joke of a "warranty" and I use that term loosely.....

- Review: If I could have given ZERO stars on all levels, I would have! This is a HORRIBLE company! I have entered FIVE claims and have not received resolution on a single claim. NOT ONE! The first claim was for my bladder tank; no coverage even though I was told I was receiving a WHOLE HOUSE WARRANTY. The second and third claims were structural, so, you guessed it! NO COVERAGE! The fourth is for the furnace. Oh, I have coverage, a work order was entered and approved, however, I still have to wait 3 DAYS for the furnace to be replaced. I explained to the rep and then the supervisor that it is January in Indiana, and the temp is ZERO outside! I explained that I have no choice but to stay at my house because I had to make certain the pipes to burst. IT'S ZERO & I HAVE NO HEAT! I was told that I either had to wait another 2 days, or take the cash option and wait approximately 2-4 weeks for a check. On top of that, MY PORTION of the furnace/air handler replacement is a whopping $1350.00! Someone tell me again why I even have a home warranty? The fifth claim is for a garage door opener; I have yet to have that serviced. I would advise any homeowner shopping elsewhere for your home warranty! I have over 150 days left on my warranty and I am already looking for another company!

- Review: If you saw my comment about the refrigerator read about my bad experience with AHS regarding my water heater. On 12/1/10 we had no hot water and when I checked my crawl space, were the water heater is located, I saw that it was all wet under the heater and it was not running. I asked for service through the web site and the next day at 3:00 pm a plumber arrive, went to check the unit and left to his car to call the company. They called me two minutes afterward to tell me that they are not covering this as it was a water damage and this was a “secondary damage” and not from leaking. I also asked to open a slaw drain in my bathroom. They said the slow drain was normal in older homes. Meanwhile the plumber left without even asking for the $60 as he knew he was wrong. I asked to speak with a supervisor but none was available. They wanted me to call a phone number for authorization department and I didn’t as it will take forever to get a live person. I asked that a supervisor will call me and they promised that I will get a call before the end of the day but no one called. I called another company and they had to replace the water heater as it was leaking. I have contacted a lawyer to help me get money from them.

- Review: I have a warranty with American Home Shield for the past 3.5 years. Two months ago my refrigerator was not cooling enough (It was at 60 degrees). I called them and waited 2 days. They could not find a company to services my refrigerator. After several phone calls they approved that I will use a local service company. After quick Google I found a company that sent a service tech within two hours. He checked the cooler and had to defrost it as it was packed with ice in the compressor area. He said the frozen unit will be o.k. after defrosting and charged me $100 after making sure it run o.k. AHS refused to pay his cost as they said that the unit was not in need of repair. After complaining and speaking to a supervisor he said that I should send the invoice and they will pay me back. They send me a check for only $10. Please note that when you call to buy a warranty you will get a response in 1-2 minutes, when you call to ask for a service it will take you 5-10 minutes, if you call to complain with a supervisor your wait time will be forever...See a second comment about my water heater.

- Review: HOME GLOBE WARRANTY This company is a scam. I have experienced the worst customer service ever. The lady by the name of Kay literally yells, talks over you, hangs up on you, makes jokes as you ask to speak with a supervisor, etc. How can a company allow this kind of behavior from the customer service department? Of course i'm getting no call back, they use caller ID and don't answer if they know you are waiting on a response to your claim. This is a joke for a company they should have a class action filed against them and be shut down.

That is a loophole they use for anything they do not want to pay for. No point in having a warranty but I would highly discourage this company. Do everything you can to go elsewhere.

- Review: WHAT A JOKE, Ive never, ever, ever, ever, paid a company that would argue with me over the phone. These guys think that we are as dumb as the day is long. I just purchased my first home ever and of course my dishwasher goes out on me in the 3rd week. The machine has to be at least 8 years old and is in bad need of replacement. I called my FIRST AMERICAN in order to fix the problem and the response time was ok it took 2days. Im ok with that no big deal. The tech comes out and fixes it in 10 min!!!! says i have a button stuck and there is no need to replace my unit. Even though he made the comment as he approached the unit "wow i havent seen one of those things in years"!!! I had to pay him $100.00 4 a 10 min repair and thats not the worst of it i called the Tech company that sent him out and they told me that a service call such as the one i just made would have costed me $40.00 but thanks to First American i got screwed outta $100.00. After calling them to try to find out why i got the run around with the customer service rep. got bounced around to a "so called" manager who gave me the runaround and they both argued with me as to it was my fault i didnt know how to properly diagnose a dishwasher!!!! Since when is it the customers fault and why do we get argued with when its our money they are throwing away???? I have cancelled my contract and will never ever, ever, ever deal with these clowns again!!! WHAT A JOKE!!!
