  • Review: We had a water heater burst at our vacation home in Las Vegas. We happened to be at the house when it happened. We called Old Republic to send out a plumber. The guy they sent told us it would be $400 out of our own pocket on top of the money Old Republic would pay. This was based on trumped up charges. I asked Old Republic if I could replace it myself and just take a payout. They said yes, but they would only give me $400 to cover the heater and my labor. I agreed and replaced the water heater myself. After three months and weekly phone calls to them, I still have not received my check. It took them 1 day to send me the $60 service bill, but 3 months later still no check.

  • Review: An overall poor service... we have called them out three times... two of the three times the issue was not resolved and required more work that was never finished. If you call and have a claim they are quick to send a contractor out but once the contractor is there they diagnose the problem and either LEAVE and say they will come back OR put a "bandaid" on the problem and say it is fixed. The two times we were not satisfied the customer service people said it was something that wasn't covered even though it clearly states that it is covered on their webpage... Stay far away... you will only be throwing your money down a dark smelly hole.

  • Review: I had a problem with the AC for over a Year they kept half way having it repaired evrn though several companies recommended a new unit finally they decided to replace the unit after over a year of frustration and the loss of a tenant. The plan did not cover the crane for removal of the unit only the crane for the installation. How crappy is that?? Also a PVC pipe they approve the payment under non covered for the drain of $135.00. We had to pay over $1,600 for non covered items even though I have a premier plan and AC coverage. Why would we think that so many things would not be covered, Be sure to look under Important that states Thjis contract only covers items mentioned and excludes all others. They charge you to haul away the unit $250.00. We will be changing companies

  • Review: REVIEW: Our first occasion to use Sensible as this is our first year that we have had their warranty service policy. Called in the repair on a Thursday afternoon serviceman came following Monday. (With unemployment so high, it’s difficult to understand the rational for not providing service on weekends) Fortunatly the serviceman had the replacement part with him. Repaired the gas clothes dryer and it seems to operate well now. It was “Service” the way it is supposed to be. Nice professional, no hassle.

  • Review: Bought a rental house in Las Vegas and it was the first house I bought in that city. Alliance was recommended by the real estate agent. What a mistake that was. I bought a year warranty and only called them once about fixing the oven on 11/15/11 My first clue was their 24 hour service (866) number no longer worked! Fortunately, I still had the salesman's phone number and that still worked. They evidently changed their 24 hour number to an (800) number but didn't tell me. They evidently subcontracted to a local repairman who first gave a 2 week estimate for fixing the oven! What??? First of all, 2 weeks to fix an oven is excessive. Secondly, having no oven for Thanksgiving (11/24) is not acceptable. After several calls, I got the repairman to fix the oven on THANKSGIVING DAY! Needless to say, I am no satisfied with their service. And I only used them once that year!

Our first experience was that of a heating problem. they said they sent a wrok orderbut did not know what company would go. a plumber called and wanted acess to the home. I said what for? it is a heating problem. and again called fidelity and found out they sent a plumber and now sent a new work order. three days later still no service. we called again and they gave us the nuber of a compnay that answered with a baby crying in the background stating they do not work on the week ends. If there is a way to get full refund i would like to know. bad customer service, and vendors who apparently do not want to work

  • Review: I am a contractor who does work for The Warranty Group, and I believe they are more than fair! If homeowners would read their policy and maintain their appliances, this insurance is well worth the price. We've done work with few other warranty companies over the past 20 years, and The Warranty Group by far covers more repairs and offers cashout if cost of repair exceeds cap limits. Homeowners expect to be able to pay $390 for the policy, never maintain their appliances, and get new ones when theirs break. Doesn't work that way!

  • Review: American Home Shields Service keeps getting worse. I have used them for several years, but they have gone down hill over the last year. I just waited on hold over 30 minutes without being able to speak to someone about a recurring AC problem at one of my properties. My AC went out in July on both units, with one taking over a week and multiple calls to try to repair. I will not renew or order with them again.

I set up the repairs and the two AC units got fixes faster than any work I have hade done by my old warranty company. I was impressed and the new warranties cost me $ 60 less each a year than my old ones on each property.

  • Review: I HAVE HAD TWO POLICIES WITH AHS FOR THE PAST 19 YEARS AND ADDED TWO MORE FOR RENTAL HOMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES YOU GET SOMEONE ON THE PHONE WHO SEEMS A LITTLE ARGUMENTATIVE,MOST OF THE TIME YOU GET A VERY NICE AGENT WHO RESPONDS IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR REQUESTS AND THE CONTRACTORS HAVE BEEN VERY RESPONSIVE AND TIMELY,AS WELL. WHAT IS VERY IMPORTANT,IS THAT WHEN YOU ARE PURCHASING A HOME,YOU HAVE YOUR REALTOR ORDER THE POLICY PRIOR TO OR JUST AFTER THE CLOSE OF ESCROW. THEIR "REALTOR'S POLICY" IS FAR AND ABOVE THE ORDINARY POLICY AND THE COVERAGE IS OUTSTANDING! I SPOKE WITH A REPAIRMAN A FEW WEEKS BACK WHO SAID THAT AN ITEM WAS NOT COVERED AND I INFORMED HIM THAT I HAD THE "REALTORS" POLCY AND THAT IT CERTAINLY WAS COVERED. HE SAID, OH! YOU HAVE THAT POLICY! THAT IS THE BEST POLICY ON THE MARKET! THEIR COVERAGE IS UNBELIEVABLE! BUT,THE POLICY MUST BE ORDERED BY YOUR REALTOR, IT EVEN COVERS ITEMS THAT ARE NOT TO CODE,NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY, ETC. THE COVERAGE COMES IN LAYERS, SO IF YOU JUST ORDER THE GENERIC POLICY, YOU MAY OR MAY NOT BE HAPPY WITH IT. YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY READ THE POLICY IN DETAIL BEFORE YOU BUY IT, SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IS AND ISN'T COVERED!

  • Review: Actually, I have had good experiences with Alliance. I have submitted five claims in the three years I have been with them and all five have been addressed immediately and the work performed has met my satisfaction. Why I got on this website isn't actually because of Alliance, at least not yet. I called out an appliance repairman, who spent five minutes in my house and told me I need a plumber. He did no work, not a thing, but my idiot wife still paid him his sixty bucks. I have now requested a plumber, but I plan on contacting the company and ask for a sixty dollar credit for the guy who came out and did nothing. If they don't do this, I'll cancel my contract. I was actually hesitant to do this, because I have been pleased with the company, but now that I've read so many horror stories, I'm okay with it.

  • Review: HWA never once paid for a claim that I filed (3 in all). They said that my house was too old (1952) or that since we had done our own home improvements they couldn't cover when we called them out. They sent out a contractor to fix my air conditioning who had no idea what he was doing. There is a little run around scam that is being run by their contractors. The contractor tells HWA something so that HWA can deny the claim (the homeowner already messed it up trying to fix it, the work was never done up to code, etc) then the contractor offers to do the work for you since they are already there and they get to leave that day with money in their pocket instead of waiting weeks for the insurance company to pay out. There is no point in paying for the warranty and then a $75 deductible every time they send someone out if they are not going to cover it anyway. The people on the phone are very short and just repeat the same lines over and over. It is like talking to multiple broken records. And no one on the phone can do anything to help you anyways. Do not use this company.

Rock came through hole in pipe where the water is leaking out. they said are we sure water is leaking????? It's going somewhere..... idiots. This plan is AWESOME if you never need it!
