  • Review: Absolutely unbelievable!!!!!!! I am currently trying to have a microwave oven replaced and this is insanity. I have been on the phone for approximately an hour now. To let you know where my claim stands we have a JennAir Microwave that stopped working and was determined to be in need of replacement by Sears (the contractor they sent out). The model number of the microwave that I currently have is UMC5200BAS which is made by Maytag for JennAir. First American has offered to replace the microwave with a kenmore unit, because it has like features and is the most cost effective unit for them. The difference in price is 200.00+dollars and the Kenmore unit was offered as a replacement, because per them the unit I have is no longer available. However; I have located the exact unit that is in need of replacement at Homedepot, Lowes, Amazon ect.. I notifed First American of this issue and spoke with a supervisor to only be told, "that the warranty company is not responsible for replacing the microwave with the same identical microwave, even when the same unit is available. First American will choose the most cost effective unit with similar feature sets available." ( which means the cheapest piece of garbage they can possibly find available). I highly suggest that anyone shopping for a home warranty look else where. As soon as this claim is mitigated I will be looking somewhere else for my home warranty. Buyer Beware!!!!!

  • Review: This was our first claim with HWA. I filed our claim on line and was contacted by a customer service representative within 15 minutes. I explained to him up front that the person living in the house had health issues and that I would appreciate a timely fix. The CSR was professional, knowledgeable, and the problem was solved within 24 hours. There were no additional charges. My experience with HWA and Drouhard Plumbing was excellent. Oscar, our CSR, deserves a raise and Drouhard Plumbing earned my future business. Yea for HWA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Review: READ THE FINE PRINT!!! Our freezer door broke where the ice maker attaches, resulting in a gaping hole that lets out the cold air. When I contacted them, they were quick to talk about the things that they don't cover. They will only cover "mechanical" issues. To me, the moving parts of the door/ice maker are a mechanical piece that, when not in working order, render the freezer significantly less usable. We also have a pipe leaking where the water hose enters the fridge and... wait for it... they don't cover that either. Overall, they seemed far more interested in figuring out how to not pay $$$ than helping me resolve the issue. If it's something they legitimately don't cover they should at least point me in the direction of where I could get this resolved. I strongly recommend finding a different home warranty company to work with.

  • Review: I have had AHS for two years. Used them once for fixing a garbage disposal - no problem some food was stuck. Called them 3 weeks ago furnace got two cracks. They send a tech. from a company City Wide Heating and Cooling based out of TN. He said it would need to be replaced. Three weeks have gone by and nothing has been done. City Wide keeps saying that they are pulling a permit from the city - talked with the city this morning - no one has applied for a permit. Permits are given on the same day. Asked AHS to give me a cash buy out - they will only pay $1509.80. I called 5 different vendors locally it will cost close to $4000.00. AHS is the worst company I have ever dealt with. You cannot speak with anyone beyond who picks up the phone. They are very sweet and understanding on the phone, but that's as far as it goes. I am still waiting don't know what to do. If I cash out I will have to dish out the difference out of my pocket. Also City Wide is charging me $800.00 for permits and stuff that AHS does not cover. I strongly suggest no one ever use AHS or City Wide Heating and Cooling.

  • Review: I just renewed my warranty with HSA! In the first year they covered repairs on my fridge, garage door, and 2 heating claims. Everything went so smoothly! The amount they paid to have just the fridge itself repaired was more than i paid for the warranty. Money well spent!

  • Review: First American Home Warranty is a rip off.. My AC unit went out and it took a week to get someone to fix it. I got stood up for four appointments with the contractor. When he finally replaced the unit they told me I owe $350. I had to call First American and the contractor at least a dozen times to get this done. When I finnally complained enough they told me they would pro rate my premium and buy me out without fixing anything. (that is what they want) Then the girl tells me she lives in Phoenix AZ and it can't possibly be hotter here than it is there. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China. MY AC IS BROKEN AND IT IS FREAKIN HOT WITH 90% HUMIDITY AND YOU REFUSE TO HELP ME.

  • Review: First American Home Warranty declines to warrant the services that they provide. After having my range worked on twice by Sears, and paying the service deductible twice, the same part failed for the 3rd time. I was past the 30 days that AHW allows for their warranty, although Sears has a 90 warranty for their work. Sears apparently has a lesser agreement with AHW, I was told I would have to pay the $60 copay again, amounting to $180 total for the same problem. The AHW supervisor was NOT helpful at all and could only parrot the company line of: "sorry, nothing we can do." Translated: there's nothing they will do.

  • Review: I've had 2 legitimate claims that I made. One was for a broken microwave ($200 to replace) and the other for a gas heat exchanger that had gone bad ($1500 to replace). Guess which one they gave me trouble with? I realize that these companies have to make money, but they shouldn't do it at the expense of denying legitimate claims (they should raise their rates do really provide the support that they claim to). After wasting probably 120 minutes or more of my cell minutes with them, they denied my HVAC claim for the heat exchanger and then said that they would pay for 50% of it out of the goodness of their heart. Their customer support would never return my calls and I always got the same 2 people over the dozens of calls that I made to them. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Their on-hold music says "you'll sleep better at night knowing that sensible home warranty is there to...". What a sham! Too bad their self-hype doesn't deliver into real service.

  • Review: I have used OR for 2 years now, all the calls have been handled proffessionaly, curtiously, and with prompt responses from the contracted repairers. I have no complaints against Old Republic, Keep up the good work!! As for the warning for the "fake positive reviews posted by few warranty companies",before posting here, How about addressing the FAKE NEGATIVE REVIEWS? Those seem to outnumber the positives about 50 to 0ne!!

  • Review: I would highly recommened anyone with Nationwide cancel the service at one. I have had 2 claims, first was not covered, Grant Plumbing came pulled my refrigarator out from the wall, said would back shortly, took my 63.00 have not heard from him yet, after 2 days, I finally gave Nationwide a call, rude customers service people told me it was not covered. My second claim, my air condition was not working, customer service told me this was not an emergency go to a hotel or neighbors house hung the phone it. Called back manager would call me within the hour, it has been 10 hours have not heard from anyone. I will spend my time getting this company out of Mississippi, got to be a fraudlent company with this kind of service.
