  • Review: I have had Fidelity Home Warranty for 7 years. I've had about 7 claims in that time. All but one were OK'd and completed. The one that was not completed was for my refrigerator. However, I have had plumbing, new water heater, electrical, and pesticide (ants) help through them. All were satisfactorily completed. Customer service was ok, but not exemplary. Vendors who came to do the work were knowledgeable and professional. I continue to use their service, so I guess I'm satisfied!

  • Review: Wow, just reading the reviews, everyone has the same problem, poor customer service, lack of timely response, contractors who don't know what they are doing. In three calls in the past 2 1/2 years, they have yet to cover anything at my rental property. Always an excuse, The past one took the cake. My pool maintenance service notified me the filter body had a crack in it and was leaking water, he had to turn off the filter to the pool (over 90 degrees in AZ). I put in request to AH who dispatched to Aaron Pools. Of course they couldn't come out for two days. The tech called and told my husband the "small" crack was due to the psi being over 30. I had to call AHS to find out they denied the claim because the tech from Aarons said it is "negligence" on our part that resulted in the pressure being too high causing the crack.I contacted my pool person who maintains this pool weekly and has all the dates of filter cleaning, backwash, etc. He contacted the manufacterer of the filter, Pentair, who sent written documentation that with an infloor cleaning system the psi will be 30-35 to operate correctly and the filter was designed for up to 50 psi. I called AHS, offered to provide them with this documentation, pictures of the "small" (6 inch crack which was pouring water out), and documentation of maintenance. They would not believe anything except what their technician stated, they called Aarons and the tech stuck by his story. Where did this tech get off being able to override the objective written data by Pentair who manufactered the filter? ASH send out another company, who agreed it was not from negligence (Foster Pools), but is has now been almost 2 weeks with no filtration in this AZ pool at over 90 degrees temperature. Of course AHS will take no responsibility if this pool gets algae infested, or the amount of work my pool company and I have done to try to get this covered. Also, it was yesterday Fosters found out the repair would be covered (I'll believe it when I see it) and I have yet to hear a word from AHS about this. They are horrible, have rude customer service reps, and I plan to cancel both my properties coverage as soon as this matter is taken care of. Do yourself and your blood pressure a favor, DO NOT OBTAIN COVERAGE WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!

  • Review: I was TOTALLY unhappy with AHS service. Only had to call them 2 times and both times were a bad experience. The last time they sent out JJ Fire and Ice and a 18 year old kid showed up and could not fix my air. After he tried 3 different times to fix within a week I gave up and quit using AHS. Every time he came out he said something new was wrong and wanted to charge me every time. I almost forgot to mention that I stayed home one day from work for them to work on it and they did not show or even call.

  • Review: I use to like this company but only had small repairs and all went well but what I'm complaining about is last year they sent a new program and if you paid a higher price you would not have a service call fee so we went with it now this year my bill comes and it is discontinued and I can't go back to my old flex plan because I went with something else last year and the flex plan covers everything and you pay $60.00 service fee so now I can go on a pick 10 that covers what you want but only ten things and pool is extra so if you are with the flex plan never stop or they will ding you for any little thing extra this is so wrong that you can't go back after they talked you into something new and then discontinued it and now won't let you go back to your old plan!!! they just want more money from you!!! shame on them and now reading about all these AC problems maybe this is a good thing to have come across.

  • Review: BEWARE! This company is absolutely AWFUL! I had a problem with A/C not cooling. They sent out inept contractor that claimed a laundry list of problems existed. I sent ORHW my initial home inspection to prove this did not exist at purchase. They wouldn't send a third party to verify one way or the other - they just denied my claim and got pretty defiant. THEY CAN'T/WON'T EVEN HOLD UP THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT! I reported them to AZ Attorney General and Federal Trade Commission for unfair, fraudulent and deceptive trade practices. Eventually I got my premium returned - they should be sued for breech of contract. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH OLD REPUBLIC HOME WARRANTY.

  • Review: I call ahs because of a leaking hot water heater (covered under my warranty) they sent out a service company 3 days later. This service company said they needed to charge us $435.00 to install our heater besides what the warranty company would cover because they needed to install a drip line. After I pointed out that the hot water heater was still under warranty from the manufacture and the same unit would go right back in the guy became angry and abusive. I informed american home shield that I did not want these crooks back in my house, american home shield insisted either use them or accept $60.00 in cash and told me to install it myself..beware of AHS..I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO NOBODY..

  • Review: We have two homes with warranties in place for over two years. We have yet to have anything actually fixed because there is always an excuse as to why it is not covered. We just continue to pay deductibles for nothing. Right now I have a week old claim for a problem with the pool at my rental property. After I made calls to the repair company (they never did call me) they were supposed to go out Thursday. I told them what part they needed (my pool service diagnosed the problem and could have repaired the next day) I have heard nothing. I tried to call them (business open 9-4) at 3 p.m., left two messages, no call. AHS has no record of any correspondence from the company. Yesterday my one air conditioner went out, 90 degrees at noon in my house. "Emergency" repair listing (after 1-1/2 hours on hold to AMS) I have someone scheduled to come out Monday (three days later) to look at unit. I have told them it probably needs a new condenser and they said another 1 to 14 days, depending on if AHS lets them order part or if AHS has to order. Absolutely unacceptable to have an emergency take three days for even a response. They won't schedule anyone else sooner. I am doubtful either of these problems will be taken care of, but either way, I am dropping AHS ASAP. They are a horrible company and do not care at all about their customers. Every time I have called in the last week over one hour wait on hold to talk with someone. Quite often after holding, the phone will just go dead. Waste of my time and energy--would rather just pay for repairs. Kathy (Mesa,AZ)

  • Company Name: Fidelity National Home Warranty
  • Reviewer: Travis Mesa, Az
  • Date: 2011-06-26 14:49:14
  • Review: Hello, I'm writing this review to help anyone who is looking for a home warranty to hopefully see my story and help them not make a mistake. I opened an Air Conditioning ticket with Fidelity on 6/16/11 due to my A/C not functioning. After Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Phoenix Arizona Triple degree heat (110-113 degrees), an A/C guy arrived at my home to see what the issue was (He was from Four Seasons Mechanical). He listed that I had a bad circuit board that needed replacing and mentioned my Coils were painted. I asked if this would affect my cooling of the A/C unit, as it was working just fine all year until the 16th. He advised it would only affect heat exchange, not the cooling. Two days later (not the next day) he came back, replaced it, and told me my issue was resolved. When i got home that evening, I immediately realized the issue had not been resolved. I contacted him and Fidelity and a recall order was issued. He returned the next day and stated that because my coils are painted, its not working (contrary to his statement on monday) and that my Coolant pressure was twice what it should be. He dumped the coolant out of my A/C and blamed the coils and temperature to be the cause of the extra pressure. He and Fidelity both admitted that reducing the coolant would in fact make my A/C work a little in this heat, but not at all at 85-90 degree weather. I complained this was not a solution, but Fidelity said because my coils were painted, they wouldn't cover anything and that I was on my own. So i hired a second opinion (Parker & Sons inc) to come out to my home for a 2nd opinion. They arrived 2.5 hours later and told me a different story. My Coils were NOT pained, they had dry wall dust on them which was easily removed and I could do that myself. I decided to look at this to confirm and i took pictures. There wasn't any paint, just dust. Also, they mentioned that because the coolant had been drained from my A/C, they now needed to refill it (435.00 just for that alone) and the cause of the issue was my condenser fan motor running at 1/2 speed, over heating, and shutting down after a short period of time. This causes my coils not to cool, which doesn't evaporate the coolant, and thus caused the spike in pressure. With this new information, I contacted fidelity and advised them of my second opinion, and faxed them the new invoice (now 1000.00 in repairs plus some)to get it fixed. Parker & Sons is not affiliated with Fidelity in any way and will not work with a home warranty, and I don't blame them! So my home warranty scheduled a 3rd opinion by another company of their choice "Cool Blew". He Arrived on 6/25/11. He explained there was no Coolant in my system but he found nothing wrong with my A/C. Frustrated I argued with him that if that were true, then my A/C would not have broken down to begin with. He put coolant back in for me and the A/C did start cooling the house, but I told him it wouldn't last long as it would stop in about 30 minutes. That is what it was doing when this whole thing started. He couldn't do or say anything more so he left. Sure enough, 30 minutes later i have hot air blowing out of my A/C. I called Cold Blew back first, and they told me that is caused by a massive leak in my coolant system. At this point I had 3 different companies give me 3 different opinions on what my problem is, and Cold Blew was going to try and sell me that NO ONE caught a leak in my A/C unit. I advised that a previous company recorded twice the normal coolant pressure levels, explained why, and now they are trying to sell me that my A/C coolant is leaking out. After an argument, i hung up with them and called Fidelity back. Upset, frustrated, hours and hours on the phone, and many hours off work, time sweating in my house, I'd finally had had enough. Fidelity employee's were rude and unsympathetic to my issue. They simply do not understand that now 9 days of living in 113 degree weather with NO A/C is completely unacceptable and a health risk. So i moved out of my house to a parents. I got a Fidelity supervisor who was very competent, caring, and actually had a head on her shoulders. She looked over my entire case and felt horrible for the situation. She approved having Parker and Sons come out and check if my A/C really was or was not leaking coolant. If it wasn't, she approved to get the Condenser fan motor replaced, and if it was leaking, they'd replace the unit. Re leaved I made an appointment with Parker & Sons to come out. They advised they'd arrive around 7-8pm and would give me a 30min call ahead of time so i could be there. I'd been at my house with technicians for 5 hours in the heat so i went to my parents to cool down, get something to eat and come back. However, at 5:30 I get a call from Parker and Sons that the tech was on site, right now. Surprised I advised I wasn't at the property, that I was told I'd have 30 minutes warning and that they wouldn't arrive until 7-8pm. I was then told the technician would NOT wait for me to arrive, and they'd schedule something else. Completely taken back and irritated, I demanded he stay, I was transferred to someone else, and they proceeded to tell ME off! After a heated conversation she said "FINE you're 30 minutes start right now", we hung up, but i was so angry, shaking, I called them back immediately and told them I didn't want to use a service that treated me this way, after all I'd been through, and would tell ME off during my crisis. I called Fidelity back, I couldn't get any supervisors this time round, and they said they'd try to find someone who could come out today (Sunday 6/26/11). They couldn't find anyone open so they have someone coming out on Monday, but to my shock!!! Even though I'd advised i did NOT want this company back at my home, they were going to send "Four Seasons" The people that caused this entire mess to begin with. I was totally shocked and said that was unacceptable! After a few more minutes, they got Sears scheduled instead for 12 noon on Monday. After that was handled, i then asked for a supervisor again. Now I got one. I Explained everything, my frustration, not living at home, I had to increase my cell phone plan because the only phone i own has been used more in the past week than i do in a month, I've lost hours at work which amounts to not getting paid, I'm traveling 30 miles a day every time i have some tech come to my house because i cannot live IN my home, I'm living out of a backpack!!. I was told they were "Sorry" but they couldn't do anything. No hotel, no covering any of my cell phone expenses, no compensation for the amount of time they've taken (and are STILL TAKING) to resolve my issue. to DATE, i have Sears ariving at my house on Monday JUST TO CHECK FOR A LEAK. I don't even know if they can fix the A/C when they arrive. I only hope and PRAY I'll actually get to move back into my home this week. This has been a completely NIGHT MARE and i have nothing to show for it by bills and loss of time at work, not to mention stress on my family for watching my dog, making extra space for me and trying to be there for me. My Advice? Save your money for emergencies, don't put yourself through this nightmare of a process that Warranties put you through.

  • Review: There are plenty of companies out there but you should AVOID THIS ONE! I had a gabage disposal go bad so I filed a claim. The phone line was busy for over 30 mnutes so I filed it on line. The phumber called the next day and made and appointment, he also collected the $65 dollars and couldn't get through to the get an approval from HC and left. The claims dept of HC called back saying that they would only cover part of the cost and I was stuck with the rest. The sales person will tell you that you pay $65 and they will fix it or replace it up to $5K. Apparently this is a sales tactic becasue when you get the six pages of policy notes you have to know each part or it will cost you quite a bit more. It would have been cheaper to call a local plumbing company to come out and I would have saved the warrenty costs. Find a different company. One person will tell you one thing and the other department will tell you something else.

  • Review: I have had this service for the last 7 years. Yes after you read my complaint you will call me dumb needless to say. My air conditioner breaks about three times a year. They send incompetent people over and over again and somehow rig it until the following year. I just got home from vacation (2 weeks after the repaired it for the second time) and guess what! Hot as heck a crappy 92 degrees in my home. I would NEVER renew this warranty. I'm a single mother and fear the "Big" cost but if I would have not renewed, I would have had somebody competent fix this thing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WORTHLESS warrant. It is a waste in the biggest way.

I called them early Monday to report it and to have someone come out. I called the next day to check on the status and nothing scheduled. I called again the same day, 4 hours later, and was finally told that their vendor couldn't come out until the next Monday, 6 days later. Meanwhile, I've got ruined food and money down the drain. I found my own company and someone was able to come out the same day. I just hope nothing serious happens, I don't trust this company to get it fixed now.

  • Review: I live in CA, bought my new home in CO. Sept 2010. I have renters in home. Home is about 4yrs,old but was only lived in about 10 months total. So everything in home was like new and upgraded. I had leak from A/C system in attic, My warranty was provided by RE agent. So I call FN to request repair of leak. I did not know cause. I was charged $55.00 and waited several days before HVAC tech to come from more than 2 hrs away from my home. He reported that there was insulation flying around in attic, causing problem, Not covered by policy and I need to find out why insulation is causing leak. I disputed this finding and demanded FN sent another qualified service tech because 1st did not know what he was doing.I also refused to pay another service fee. While I was waiting for second HVAC tech, I hired my own HVAC tech to come at the cost of another $106.00. He found cracked trap and pipes needed to be wrapped and elavated. After about 10 days more finally FN other tech showed up. He reported pipes need wrap. No report of cracked trap. So now I have 3 evaluations, none the same. Not covered with warranty because of freezing, per FN. I spent too much time dealing with poor un qualified techs, and horrible customer service from FN.I started this whole process on February 2nd and had to wait just to get written copies of tech reports from FN. It is now May and I just got last report, also statement from FN that they don't cover freezing. Really, their service is a waste of time, money and my sanity. I wrote several emails trying to resolve my complaints, I kept getting passed on to others, still with out results. After reading these reviews, I will write again and really tell them how I feel about their company and service. Does anyone know how to reach their coporation office? PLease write and complain and past on information. You will not get any where with their CS dept. They should be investigated for all of the fraud and scam. It looks like they don't ever cover anything. Do not use them!!!!!!!!Horrible......

  • Review: After multiple calls to Old Republic with Long hold times I am Very disappointed with their customer service or lack of towards their customers. The repair company Metro Appliance that they sent out to my home DID NOT inspect either my Frig or Dishwasher, Tech was rude and unprofessional in his actions & appearance. The tech said there was nothing wrong with our dishwasher only that our water temp was not hot enough but wrote that the ice maker & door seals on the frig did need to be replaced...? Again he did not inspect or test either appliance. I called O.R. to advise I was unsatisfied & did not want the company to return... BUT did not get a response for 10days. Their response was that is now it's my responsiblity to pay for another company to come out and actually inspect to see what the problem is & then submit it to them by fax & then they "may" consider another service company out for a third time. Meanwhile I am without working appliances!! Also on the frig that they did agree to cover b/c I do not feel comfortable with that company they will do a Cash Pay-Out for parts but the repair will be at my cost. Sorry Customer Service all together. They have lost my business WILL NOT renew policy with Old Republic...nor refer to anyone.
