- Review: We bought an old house with appliances that were all 30years old and up. They were always good about going ahead and replacing them. But as for timeliness and care.. forget it. I went over a month without a dishwasher (there were no problems with the service order either, just being slow), which was aggrevating but manageable. But, now my range is out... And, theres been some issues, so I can only imagine how long this will take (were at 2.5 weeks now without even having a replacement picked out yet). But, they don't seem to care in the least that I'm down a stove top and 2 ovens right now.

- Review: I feel the pain of every disatisfied especially Kris in Tampa,FL. I too am experiencing the lack of hot water from a water heater gone bad. Initially, the tech determined that it was a gas valve that needed replacing however 4 days later the hot water that I did have was now nonexistance. Customer service(AHS) was plesant but the contactor Meyers Heating and Plumbing service was not. The part that was ordered on Aug 29 still haven't come in as of today Sept 6 and the company did not have the common curtesy to recheck the water heater to see if additional items are needed. The worse part of the situation is that this company doesn't have back up contractors. AHS faithfully take monthly premiums on time but don't require timely service from their contractors. AS soon as this contract is up, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

- Review: This company sets up the unnecessary confrontation/or conflict between its own members (customers)and its contractors, by quoting a fixed service payment of approx. $60.00, per incident but by forcing the contractors to bid less, and allowing them to come up with gimmicks of getting more money out of their members (customers), which AHS tacitly approves but does not fully disclose or explain to its members, resulting in deception and general unhapiness and or dangerous conflicts. This business model is deceptive, by arbitrarily inflating the cost of service provision without stating that fact. This must be stopped, as it destroys the good faith effort from both members (customers) and its contractors, with only one winner, AHS

I have had an ac unit problem every year and all they do is come out and patch it up (when they do show up)instead of repairing the problem.I am looking around for other companys because enough is enough. And you have the nerve to use the word America in your title. Please!!!!!!

- Review: American Residential Warranty doesn't tell you that they only cover one A/C unit with their PLATINUM???? or any other package. They certainly didn't say that when they took my money. They also don't tell you (except in the finest print) that they DON'T COVER FREON. Can you believe that? That's like a car warranty that doesn't cover the engine. It took 3 days to get a call returned (they said their phone system had a problem when their internal phone switching hung up on me 4 times) and then it was a waste of time. Beware of these people. They're just an unreputable outfit that takes your money and doesn't deliver.

- Review: I was a contractor for this company. I have left after just 6 months. I simply realized they wanted there repairs for a flat $140.00...period. This fee includes parts, time, labor, taxes, and trip charges. The company is nothing short of a scam. They spend more time seeking 2nd opinions that than do with issuing first time dispatched. Stay as far away from this company as possible. As a contractor we cannot work under these false pretenses.

- Review: I called HMS to use my preventative maintenance benefit because it stated that I could have a free ac/heating service within the first year of the warranty. I called to have the maintenance performed and they informed me that I could not use this benefit because I called and made a claim. But I told the customer service woman that I paid for the repair out of my own pocket and that it was not covered by HMS. She proceeded to tell me that because I called and used one of the service techs that they referred it was still considered a claim, even though it was not covered. BOGUS!!! Do not buy a home warranty from HMS. They won't pay or cover anything. This was a total rip off.

- Review: On or about 16 of July 2010, I purchased a Homeowners warranty from AHS to cover various appliances. On or about 24 of July 2010, my Air Conditioning stopped workings, temperatures outside were over 104 degrees. I called AHS for service and they sent Sun Corporation on 25 July 2010. Sun was there less than 1/2 hour, after looking at the indoor unit the repairman said he had done all he could that he couldn’t get his own A/C at home to go below 90 degrees and he left saying the house would cool down eventually. He did not say what he did to the A/C. He had a bad attitude and was rude. The A/C was still not cooling the house so I placed another call to AHS regarding the A/C. AHS sent another company to repair the A/C. This serviceman questioned why AHS had sent him and had not called Sun back. He stated that because Sun Corporation had worked on the A/C and they should come back and repair the unit. He poked around and looked around, spent one hour going in and out of the house and on the telephone. Finally, he came back in and told me that he had spoken to AHS about the A/C and told AHS to send the guy from Sun Corporation. Stated that AHS would send Sun Corporation back to repair the unit, the serviceman from Sun Corporation never returned and I never heard back from either AHS or Sun Corporation. After this incident I made numerous additional calls to AHS regarding the A/C to no avail. After the incident described above, I received a questionnaire from AHS regarding the service I had recently received by the two above named companies, I replied to the questionnaire setting forth everything I related above regarding my experience and made a point of letting AHS know again that the repair guy from Sun Corporation never came back as AHS had stated and that the A/C was still not working. I called AHS again and told them the A/C was still not working and that they had not responded to the numerous calls made to it. These calls went ignored. Because I was not receiving further, or proper service from AHS regarding my A/C and because my son and I suffer from severe Asthma and our health was being compromised by the lack of A/C, I sought a 3rd opinion, the new company came and told me the system was dead and was irreparable. I contacted Sears and purchased a new A/C unit to replace the Air Conditioning system that had died. The new Air Conditioning system was installed on Friday, 20 August 2010 and since then we have not had any further problems with cooling the house. AHS was unable to repair the A/C unit, their contractors failed to properly diagnose that it was dead, and AHS failed to respond to my numerous calls regarding the dead air conditioning unit so I was forced to purchase a new A/C out of pocket because of the extremely high and dangerous temperatures. AHS now refuses to issue reimbursement even though they knew at all times that the A/C was dead and their policy clearly states that “IF WE CANNOT REPAIR WE WILL PURCHASE A NEW . . .” They claim they did not authorize the purchase of the new A/C, however, I called then numerous times to tell them the A/C was dead I received no response and AHS did not send any other service people. I called and called and called to tell them the unit was dead and received no response from AHS as they kept giving me the run around. This Company is a scam and something should be done about it.

- Review: One of the worst experiences I've ever had. My AC went out and I've called 10 different people to get assistance. All old me they'd get back with me. The AC continually goes out and the company continually sends repairmen out to refill it with Freeon. I've had it refilled 5 times in 3 months (continually charging the service fee); the company didnt come to the conclusion that there may be a leak until I told them. They then would to diagnostics because they said the unit needed to be cleaned (at my expense). I had another company come out, they immediately assessed the unit (determined the problem). They now say that there is a problem and ordered a part. I throroughly dont trust them and are dissatisfied with their unethical practices.

- Review: 2-10 is not in the customer service buisness. The Friday before Memorial Day my upstairs AC unit stopped working. I contacted 2-10 and they said they would call a repair service and have to my house within 24 hours. They also gave me the name and number of the local repair company. After 24 hours I called the local repair company but was unalble to reach anyone. I called 2-10 back and was told the contractor now had 48 hours to respond. After 48 hours I called the contractor and still did not get an answer. I checked the local BBB and HVAC certification board and was told the contractor did not exist. I then called a local HVAC company to repair the unit. They reponded within a couple of hours and repaired the my AC. When I call 2-10 I was told it was my responsibility to tell them if thier contractor failed to show. Also 2-10 is only obligated to "dispatch" a repair request to a contractor an not responsible if he does not show. I am now looking for a new warranty company.

- Review: This company is a scam. I bought a contract from them in October 2009, and they deducted monthly installments from my checking account through February 2010. In late Feb. my refrigerator stopped cooling so I called to open up a claim. After being put on hold (repeatedly) for more than half an hour, someone finally picked up, took my information and said that a technician would be in touch within 3 days. No technician...no repair...can't even get in touch with them by phone anymore.

AHS send same guy out to fix it on 9-14-09 who declared he must have broken the heating element when he installed it last. Said it would take a week to get the part even though I have a Sears part store in town. Called AHS today, 11 days after he came out the second time, I was told to be patient that they allowed their contractors to order parts. I had them list all of their appliance repair contractors and I had never heard of any of them. That is the problem. My dryer has been broken for 3 of the last 4 weeks. AHS does not care. Stay away!!!

- Review: On Thursday, Aug. 13th, we placed a call to AHS about our A/C not working at all. We were told by the customer service rep. that someone would be out to service our call on the morning of Friday, Aug 14th. We waited patiently all day and no one called nor came. I called the rep. again and was given the direct number to the service provider. We were told by the service provider that it would be Saturday, Aug. 15th before he could come out. Saturday came and no call no show again. Again, we called AHS and explained that we still have not been serviced since the initial call on Thursday. We also explained that we had a one year old child with Asthma and the heat was almost unbearable. We ask if there were any other accomodations they could make for us. The customer service rep was very rude and said all she could do is refer a different company out to us. AHS only offered to reimburse us $100 for an air conditioning unit and fans. To make a long story short, after many many calls and two different service providers we finally got air on Monday, Aug. 17th. We dropped this coverage immediately, and would not refer them to anyone!!! The home warranty service is a great service to have, but there are many out there that are more accomadating and treat their customers with respect. The service from the company and the customer service reps was HORRIBLE!!! If you have them DROP them immediately before you have an encounter similar or worse than ours.

They seem to find down & out contractors. The latest one took 3 hours to diagnose why I wasn't getting power to a few power points and at the end of it, they did a really shoddy job. They cut p the dry wall to locate a new GPF and the gaping cut in the dry wall is very obvious. Suddenly one day, AHS increased the service fee to $100. WHAT!! I could use this money to get a membership in Anglie's List or something like that. I'm cancelling my AHS contract.

- Review: OK my time to take revenge from these bastards. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this warranty. Warranty is for one year so the way this company makes money is by delaying your claim as long as they can stretch so they won’t have to pay you and your warranty time will be over meaning great return on investment for them. Our house is only 15 years old but we purchased the warranty any way and this is what happened to us. 1. Claim ONE: Our washer quit flushing water. I called in January 07. I called 16 times until March since tech never showed up. Each time “Josh” answered the call and reminded me that I’ve never called them before. Finally he sent me a Sears’s tech in April end who said Washer need to be replaced. One whole month after he left tech kept calling as Globe Home Warranty was delaying his payment. I was pissed. Now took me 8 times to call again and they gave me ok to buy a Washer we like and Globe will pay $150 bucks. Once done buying fax them the receipt and I will get my check in mail. I called countless times to check on my check and each time response was we never got your fax or accounting department is in “meeting”. I faxed the receipts 4 times, emailed twice, mailed twice with return signature confirmation. Calls from Sears Accounting never stopped and my check never arrived so I called MD DAs office. DAs office called “Josh” and Sears got paid and I got my stinking $150 check in ONE WEEK. 2. Claim TWO: One light in Kitchen quit working so I called again. Funny how each time I call I get “Josh”. To make the long story short again I had to get DAs office involved for “Josh” to send me a tech. Whenever I asked to be escalated to Manager Josh said I am the manager or all the managers are in meeting. DAs office told me don’t ever do business with this company. How pathetic. Now keep in mind each of these claims are valid claims and honored by warranty. But this is their scam to give you so much hard time that you will quit calling. I checked few blogs and I was shocked how bad this company is doing but unfortunately they are still in business.

- Review: Very disappointed with AHS. My water heater busted on Christmas morning, the tech came out on friday morning to tell me AHS will cover the heater and labor, and I have $525.00 of uncovered charges I will have to pay due to my house is so old (10 years old) the water heater was not put in under code. AHS and their contractors are rip offs. I called customer service trying to speak with someone with intelligence and all I got was the run around and should have received a return phone call in 24 hours...needless to say I have not received the call yet. I have been without hot water for 4 days so far. AHS will be receiving a cancellation call.
