  • Review: I cant explain how dissapointed I am with the company. My home warranty was a gift from my realtor when I purchased my new home. Once I needed a plumer to come out and fix a leak. I had at reschedule my date and called the company myself to reschedule. Some how the plumer did not get the message and showed up at my house. I went back a fwd with the company about why I should not be charged two service call fees. I was very surprised that this warranty did not back me up and wanted me to pay both fees as well. I got a hold of the manager of the plumming compamy and we were able to work it out. Not to mention how after they repaired my leak they left two huge holes in my wall that I had to pay an outside contractor to fix. That was the first time 2-10 let me down. The other time was after a bad storm in my area my roof leaked. I went over all the information with CS letting her know it was because if a bad rain event we just had. After I had to pay $90 for they guys to come over and look at the roof just to tell me they could not fix it because 2-10 would not cover it. 2-10 did not cover it because the leak was due to an act of God. What made me mad about that is that I went over that with the CS when I placed my call how come she allowed spend $90 knowing they could not repair the leak. I spoke with the manager and he told me that the CS dont know all the rules. Yeah right

  • Review: We had attempted to get our refridgerator repaired for the past three months and have had three repairmen out. Each time they came up with something different that could be wrong, this last time the guy finally found out what was wrong with the unit and attemped to repair it. In doing so he broke the unit beyond repair and First American say that since the part he broke is not covered under the plan they won't do anything to fix it. NEVER buy a plan from these guys its not worth the paper its printed on.

  • Company Name: American Home Shield (AHS)

  • Review: Had AHS for a couple of years, and experience was horrible. We primarily called for a water heater, which continuted to breakdown. Several times, we were unable to reach anyone with the company and went without hot water for a day or two extra due to this, then when we did reach someone AHS was unable to meet their contractual obligation to get someone out within the alloted timeframe which again delayed repair by several days in the dead of winter, and when company did come to fix the water heater would soon break again. According to the contract, AHS was to replace item if it failed so many times, which the water heater breakdown far surpassed that number. AHS refused to replace it without stating why. It was ridiculous, because we paid so many $60 fees to have it fixed that it cost both us and ASH more to fix than it would have to replace. (Unless of course, the plumber was only getting the $60 to replace.) We refused to renew and spent countless time on the phone over the next year trying to get AHS to stop telemarking trying to get our business back. We are now shopping around for a home warranty company and will not even consider AHS - even if it were free, because AHS does not fulfill their end of the contract.
