  • Review: Bought a rental house in Las Vegas and it was the first house I bought in that city. Alliance was recommended by the real estate agent. What a mistake that was. I bought a year warranty and only called them once about fixing the oven on 11/15/11 My first clue was their 24 hour service (866) number no longer worked! Fortunately, I still had the salesman's phone number and that still worked. They evidently changed their 24 hour number to an (800) number but didn't tell me. They evidently subcontracted to a local repairman who first gave a 2 week estimate for fixing the oven! What??? First of all, 2 weeks to fix an oven is excessive. Secondly, having no oven for Thanksgiving (11/24) is not acceptable. After several calls, I got the repairman to fix the oven on THANKSGIVING DAY! Needless to say, I am no satisfied with their service. And I only used them once that year!

  • Review: Well after reading through some of the other postings on this website, I must confirm that there is alot of truth in all these statements in reference to ALLIANCE HOME WARRANTY. The listed statements seem to be the standard for their level of service. I bought a house on 30 jun 10. A/C stops working a couple weeks later. long story short, technician comes, fixes problem. I was not aware at the time we would have to continuously & consistently proceeded to call them through out the rest of the summer until the weather cooled down (about September). Last year I had 3 new fan motors installed, approximately 30lbs of freon(my unit holds about 13lbs), 4 new capacitors, and 4-8 new shraeder valves. I have been told my system does not have a consistent leakand the whistling noise when the unit shuts down is normal. (I have come to the realization that the whistling means the system is about to crap out due to low freon and a bad schreader valve (based on experience). I am up for home warranty renewal and I WILL NOT be using ALLIANCE HOME WARRANTY again.

  • Review: I payed for extra services to be written into my contract, "Every Time" I have needed to schedule a call, I would explain the problem I'm having they rep would state that the item is covered under my plan, and then when the technician arrives, Old Republic will state that the items is not covered, and then I will need to pay the $60 service fee. The ironic part is the technician will go on to repair items that were suppose to have been repaired by the previous technician. When I complained to Old Republic, they dismissed my claims to get themselves out of the mis-information and the inadequate service provided by their rep's.

  • Review: We purchased their warranty when we bought our home back in April 2010. We hoped as everyone would that we would not have to use their service. However this did not hole true. I had to call the first time in June. With the extreme heat here we had to use the upstairs air conditioner which seemed to not be working. So I phoned in to make my claim. There was someone out here with in the next several hours. We all need to keep in mind, that FA can not always be held accountable for the service provided by the repair companies. My service was exceptional by the company that they sent out, I gave them my $60. I had to now make a claim a couple of months ago, where in my garage there was a flood from where the water heater went out. I called, and make the claim. A couple of hours went by and I had not heard from anyone, so I called FA back, I then told them what I had not before. "there is water saturating my walls and going through the sheet rock I am afraid it is going to come through my kitchen, formal dining, and laundry room walls." They then changed the status to an emergency. And said I should hear something in the next 3 hours. I called the company they assigned me, and was told that they could not make an appointment for another day or 2. I hung up and my phone rang. It was FA, calling me back to say that they could not get anyone to come out today, and if I could, that would be fine but I would have to pay out of pocket, and then they would reimburse me, except for the $60. I got a company to come out they said to replace the unit, but was covered under manuf. warranty except for.. xyz.. They spoke with FA and FA told me that they would not reimburse for xy, I told them xy was to bring it up to code,he got his manager and then came back and still said no, that it was not required so they would not reimburse. I explained still comly that a city inspector was going to come out, and that the unit had to be brought up to code and that FA warranty says they will pay for these types of costs. I was put on hold, and the man came back to tell me everything would be covered. Let me say... at no time was I treated rudely. Yes, at first I was told no, but I came back with more information in a curtious tone. These claims people don't know how to fix things or what the codes are, they are just giving the information that they think they know. So, don't be afraid to ask what you think is right or ask for a manager, just be persistant. You will get what is right! And here is my latest episode with some companies they sent out... http://wp.me/pU89i-7C

  • Review: We first used AHS when we bought our first house because it was paid for 1 year. We used it once at that home and only had to pay $50 service fee at that time. Since then we have been in our new home for about 5 years and have used them maybe 4 times. Every time they come out to repair something, we have to pay the $60 fee and then either the item was not a covered item or additional fees were required. The most recent was the hot water heater yesterday. It was leaking, so they sent someone out yesterday. I planned on paying $60, but ended up paying another $445 for "code upgrades". If I was able to dish out that amount of money at any time, I would not need a home warranty service. I am switching companies and will not recommend AHS to anyone.

  • Review: OH BOY where do I start. I have mixed reviews on this company and how they perform their job. I requested for an overhead microwave to be fixed and they subcontracted it out and the next day it was completed which was awesome. However, as for the AC getting fixed its been a total nightmare. Nothing but a true hassle without results. To provided a position of argument I will explain my scenario briefly. I called the warrantly this past monday morning and told them my AC stopped blowing cold air and needs to be looked. FYI this point in vegas its been 107 to 112 for a week in a row. They sent the work order out as emergency fix which is good but the sub contractor didnt schedule me to the following day. Once scheduled they positioned me for a 4 to 7 pm window slot. The techinician was then late by an hour. Once he actually arrived he went out to the central unit and said that he was entirely out of freon and needed to do a system check for further diagnoises. Which is great but he also said it requires about 4 hours to do the whole repair. That being said I am now schedule for the same time 4 to 7 pm which I dont believe he will have enough time to even finish the repair. SO I called the the warranty company to see if I can get reimbursement for the local hotel I stayed in so I wouldnt pass out of heat exhaustion. They offered to give a credit of 60 dollars which is good however they said because its not in my warranty plan they can not cover more then one night. I responded to the call center supervisor why would I plan on having hotel coverage in my plan when the job was suppose to be addressed and completed two days prior. In the end I am most likely going to drop this companys service for failure to care about their customers needs or health after they pay to get my unit fixed. I HOPE ANYONE THAT IS COVERED BY THEM lives in a non-extreme climated because if so they might suffer when things go bad.

  • Review: We have had 4 service calls with AHS. The first call was for our A/C. The technician got our A/C running the very day he came out, but the patch job he did was only temporary. To be fair, we had considered replacing the A/C before it went out and this breakdown just confirmed it. However, we were going to replace in Ocotber. Then it went out again 3 weeks after the service call. The same technician came back, extremely rude this time, and said "Well whoever you had work on it wired it all wrong and the motor is gone." My husband told him, "you worked on it" The tech rudely said "we don't have any record of us ever being here, and we don't do this kind of crappy work." 10 minutes later his office called and had found the work order, listing him as the tech. His attitude changed to "Oh, oh haha. Silly me." Anyway - he fixed it again and left. Next day, our other A/C unit goes out after he allegedly "checks it to just be sure". I asked AHS not to send the same guy. When I opened my door, lo and behold, same tech. He "discovers" a new problem saying the wrong part has been replaced and he can quickly fix it. After he leaves, 3 hours later, we have no A/C again. Then he reports to AHS that the unit has not been professionally serviced every year. (True - we had it serviced every other year.) Anyway, after that nightmare, we ended up buying a new $9000 system. Our second call was regarding a leak in our bathroom. The plumbing tech showed up, looked at our bathroom, decided it was our shower door, (never measured, never unscrewed a shower head, or looked at the actual plumbinng at all. He was guessing.)took our check for $60 and left. We foolishly trusted his judgement because he is supposed to be the expert. 3 weeks later, we were dismayed to find he had lied and we were the victims of his deception as we watched our office ceiling fall in. Several calls to AHS later, we got another tech out who fixed the leak and told us he would report the hole caused by the first plumber's negligence. He did so 4 days later. We finally got AHS to agree to fix the hole, but now it looks very rough and not at all like the rest of the ceiling. They said they are only obliged to patch the hole and not restore us to our previous state, regardless of whether their plumber's negligence had caused the damage. AHS needs to more carefully screen their providers. The next service call was for pool service and remarkably, the tech came, checked the problem, fixed the issue, honestly earned his service fee and provided information on how to prevent future problems. So, far AHS has not been very good, but not a total disaster. The customer service reps are polite enough , but many of the field techs are a nightmare and could be much better.

  • Review: They dont answer the phone it is busy or it will ring then goes to a busy signal. They dont respond to email. They are excellent at charging your credit card for there monthly dues. I guess I wont have my home issue problem resolved by them since they dont respond. Basically, if you want to pay for no service then these guys are for you.
