- Review: I got an HMS home warranty as a gift when I purchased my home in 2005, and have been renewing my plan annually since. I've never had another type of home warranty, so I can't speak for how well it compares with others. Based on information from this website, HMS seems a little pricey compared to other warranties. My 2012 premium was $490, but I renewed anyway since I live in an older home and didn't have time to comparison shop. Maybe I'll try another plan next year, but who knows. To date I've used HMS services 3 times; twice for leaky faucets (*note: plumbing coverage is limited and may have since changed) and once for my garbage disposal which they ended up replacing. Customer service people seem nice enough, and have helped me find contractors even for services not covered. Bottom line: They may more expensive than other warranties, but they also haven't given me any cause for complaint.

- Review: HMS - don't use them!!!! There was only ONE time of 4 when the job was done well. The other three claims: -It took a month to repair HVAC during 100deg. summer. -I had to repair myself a boiler, because it was a holiday and the electrician was on vacation and next appointment was after a week!! -It took them 10 days to tell me that the part of the cloth washing machine which is broken is NOT COVERED and I must find s.b. else to solve the problem!10 DAYS !!!!! There is a little baby in the house.

- Review: The only reason that I am stuck with Globe Warranty is because the previous owner purchased warranty from them as a buyer home warranty. I would NEVER pick this company and I suggest you to stay away from it. This company does not stand on your side when you have an issue with your house. They will try everything possible to deny your claim. Please pay special attention on how you answer their questions when explaining your situation to them because they will find single words from your answers to turn down your claim to their advantage. Also, don't sit and hope that they will get back to you on what they promised they will do. Follow up with them to make sure things get done because my experience is that they will NOT do it unless you call back!

- Review: Our AC went out at the beginning of the summer, so we contacted Sensible. 48 hours later, they had still not booked a service call, but told us that we would be reimbursed. The contractor refilled the freon (which was not covered), and noted there was a significant leak. We informed Sensible, and because it was a major repair, they requested service logs and home inspection documentation (since we had been in the home <3 years). Two weeks passed. Our AC went out again. Contacted Sensible again. Never heard back from them. Cancelled the contract. Their service reps were at times congenial and helpful, to combative and accusatory. Read the fine print of the contract if you opt to use them; many things are not covered. And make sure you have ample documentation else they'll find a way to deny service.

- Review: First of all... The deductible is $95.00, Not $60. I'm still on the fence with them as they have vendors that often times, don't answer their calls for days. Then again, I have an air conditioning problem now and this vendor (Name withheld) is GREAT! They are on time, come over whenever asked and try as hard as they can to get it right! Sadly though... It seems that No ONE company ever just replaces the whole unit. I suspect that there is an edict from Total Protect that the vendor MUST NOT replace units and is FORCED to just replace parts piece meal or else they will not be on their "call list". I have had several failures in my home over the 8 years with them and even though I have had outside experts say that it should have been replaced, the vendors used by Total protect have ALWAYS just replaced faulty parts on aging appliances. - Review: We moved into our new home which was covered (or NOT covered, as I am finding out very quickly) by Globe Home Warranty. The first time we ran our dishwasher, we had flooding under the kitchen sink that leaked down to the basement and caused a lot of damage. We called Globe immediately, but they claimed that they had no proof of payment, so we had to contact our title company who then sent them our proof of payment from 2 months prior that Globe should have had. It took three days of being on the phone with very rude customer service reps for them to even file a claim. Then it took another several days for them to send over a plumber. Mind you, we could not use our dishwasher or kitchen sink for a full week, which is a big deal when you have kids. The plumber came and fixed the problem, but the next day after the work was complete, we found out that Globe would not cover us. When we tried to call and inquire about what was going on, we were met with much resistance and, again, horrible customer service. We explained that we understand that certain things are not covered but wondered why they didn't have protocol set up to let us know BEFORE the work is done. Also, we tried to explain that we were dissatisfied that it took them several days to file the claim and another several days to send over a plumber for an emergency issue. We now have extensive damage under the sink, through the floorboards, all the way into the basement where it dripped all over our carpet and furniture. We would have hired a plumber to come over the day we had the problem but were told we had to wait on Globe if we wanted it to be covered, and now it's not covered anyhow. My biggest concern is with the HORRIBLE lack of any courtesy or decency from their customer service. One lady thought she had clicked off the call with me and started trashing me while I was still on the phone! Unbelievable! We are going with a different home warranty service and advise anyone else to do the same.

- Review: HORRIBLE COMPANY. CONTRACT SAYS YOU CAN REQUEST SERVICE 24/7. COMPANY IS ONLY REACHABLE BY PHONE, IF AT ALL, MONDAY TO FRIDAY, REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS. TECHS CAN'T GET AUTHORIZATION TO DO REPAIR BECAUSE THEY ARE CLOSED!!! WILL NOT RENEW, AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM.

- Review: This company requires a great deal of follow up with every claim and their accounting leaves a lot to be desired -- we were charged twice for the same claim which took more than 60 days to clear up. The contractors were not knowledgeable and never arrived within the given window (4hrs) of time. Also, it took 3 visits before the contractor finally resolved the problem. I would not recommend this agency to anyone because of the following reasons: they lack professionalism; they are not effective or efficient when resolving a claim; and their employees and contractors do not have good communication skills.

- Review: In a span of two months I have had my furnace fail twice. The first time it took Old Republic TWO weeks to have the issue resolved. I am currently going through the second failure (same part) and am on week one. Up until 2 days ago, they told me that they didn't have any contractors on their roster to do the work. I found this interesting as I live in a metropolitan area. When they did muster up a technician, he told the company that he would be able to make the repair immediately and pleaded with the company to allow him to do so as the temp has been in the low 20s recently. Instead, the company is saying they need to verify warranty info on the failed part...two more days before they could authorize the purchase of the part. The tech told them he was certain that the part would not be covered, but they didn't care. Next step after this is for them to authorize a shipment of the part to the contractor...this took TEN days (they said 5-8 days) last time and they refused to expedite the order. Hopefully, in 1.5 weeks myself, my wife and our dog will not have to hunker in front of a wood burning stove for warmth and sleep with an expensive, power sucking electric heater next to our bed. If you are in the market for home warranty insurance, I strongly recommend you stay away from these folks...just horrible.
