  • Review: Around 8-10 months after moving into my home I filed 2 claims with AHS. One was to repair my double ovens, the second was to repair my dish washer. AHS was unable to repair my ovens so they sold me a stove at their cost less a discount for my broken ovens. They also sent a company out to repair my dishwasher. A short time later & called the company that supposedly repaired my diswasher & told them the problem still existed - the dishwasher stops at a specific place in the cycle & continually pumps water on my dishes until I manually advance the dial. They ordered a part & a few weeks later came & installed it. A few days later I called them & said the problem was not fixed. The repair company said there was nothing else they could do about it. I called AHS immediately & was told that my warranty expired so they wouldn't cover it any longer, even though there was an open claim that had been filed during the warranty period. AHS so no...case closed. I've been waiting around for 5 years for the class action law suit to assist me in purchasing a new dishwasher since the old one can not be repaired. My water bill is over $100/month, & I'm on a small fixed income. When I called AHS to ask when I can expect some type of assistance, they said I would have to pay $360 for a new warranty. Right! Buy a NEW warranty with a company that wouldn't acknowledge their OLD warranty. Of course they understand my frustration. They couldn't possibly. I will never get an AHS warranty again. There are reputable companies to use. Their complaints alone make it clear they don't give a rip about caring for their customers.

  • Review: I pray that the next homeowner in need of a home warranty reads these consumer complaints first, and if by some chance you happen to have a home warranty purchased with your new home and it's HSA...."BEWARE." You're in for a headache. I've only been in my home for six months and the vendor, Cook Construction, and HSA are unprofessionals. My roof had a leak and it has taken weeks to get the vendor, Cook Construction, to come out. They misdiagnosed the problem, the same leak in the same area is now worse than it was before. Upon trying to get the vendore, Cook Construction to come back out, I've been told it may take up three weeks before we can come out and no gurantee tehn of a date. HSA is no help, they stated "Cook Construction" is the only vendor on our list for roofing repairs. There isn't enough character space for me to indicate the headache that I have and the time that I've had to taken off from work and the phone calls that has been made for me to try and get a competent person at HSA and their so call vendor to perform a job that has been paid for, or to say the least diagnose the issue correctly. I only pray my posting will save the next family and if we as consumers post enough, write enough complaints to the right person, maybe someone will hear our cry and put companies like HSA out of business. Times are too hard and my hard earned dollars are needed in many areas. I only ask to get my dollar worth from any product that I'm purchasing. That is not occurring with HSA and management is no assistance. BEWARE!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

  • Review: HSA warranty came with the purchase of my home. I can see from the numerous poor reviews, that if the warranty isn't issued with the home purchased, then HSA proabably wouldn't have too many customers. I called in a work order for my roof. The roofing company, Cook Construction, which is as RUDE and INCOMPETENT as HSA, came out to diagnose the issue. Note: They cancel the first two appts and finally showed up, placed some tar on the roof and left. It rained a week later, the roof is now worse than it was before. I CALLED AGAIN TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, IT TOOK AN ENTIRE WEEK TO GET A RESPONSE FROM COOK CONSTRUCTION. I finally got an appt date, took a day off work, and they cancelled AGAIN, and stated it may be weeks before they can come out, it is not feasible for them to come back, it's more than 50 miles away and gas is too high. It may take up to three weeks. It has been a HASSLE, with HSA and Cook Construction. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!! HSA SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY IN BUSINESS AND THE COMPANIES UNDER THIER CONTRACT IS AS CORRUPTED AS HSA. YOU'VE BEEN FOREWARNED!!!

  • Review: I hold warranty with FHW and will not be renewing, I had a part replaced in my spa that had been working for 3 years and after the replacement it failed before 4 weeks. They are saying this is my fault and that my water is so acidic that it can burn a hole through metal in 3 weeks. After consulting 5 spa specialists and a plumber they all feel this was a faulty part or installation. Also that the water would have burned my skin if it could burn through metal that quickly. When the broken part was removed the spa was left completely pulled apart with all of the water leaking out and a newly broken valve. The 90 day period they say they cover repairs was denied along with my claim. When I contested this the representative hung up on me twice. This ordeal has been going on for 9 weeks.

They were able to fix problem with a new heating sensor within a half hour. So, looks like my first experience was a good one.

I can promise you they will not fix a thing. They try to find all kind of ways to keep from fixing anything. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PLEASE, you will be sorry. Do your home work first before you pick a home warranty company. I know I will and thats a promise. These people are not 4 stars more like 1 or 2 stars

  • Review: I am so VERY impressed with Sensible Home Warranty. I have had MANY dealings with warranty companies in the past with my rental properties, such as American Home Shield and other scamming warranty companies and Sensible is, by leaps and bounds, the VERY BEST! They have truly exceeded ALL OF MY EXPECTATIONS! We have a 6 year old home and figured that, as a precaution, we should have a home warranty, just in case something should break. The up-front cost for Sensible is minimal, compared to what you could end up paying for broken items in your house. Well, my husband and I unexpectedly, found ourselves with a broken hot water heater, on a Friday night, Labor Day weekend, as we returned from the airport with my parents, who had just flown in from NJ for the next 2 weeks! How bad could that be? In any event, a technician was IMMEDIATELY OUT and by 10PM we had HOT WATER! Simon, worked very hard in making sure that everything was taken care of, and his professionalism was truly appreciated and unparalleled by any Customer Service Representative that I have EVER dealt with. I would recommend Sensible Home Warranty to family, friends, and to anyone - whether your house is new or old, it's nice to know that ALL of those "ut-oh" moments are covered by Sensible Home Warranty and by people who really do care about their customers. Thank you Simon, Kandis and everyone at Sensible!

  • Review: Purchased the plan from their website in 09'. I have since used them on 3 occassions and they are a stand up company. Most of the repairs were minor, but the fridge was a 400 repair. I live in a 5000' sq foot home in a rural area and most my appliances are new, which made me hesitate to get this plan. Man I learned a valuable lesson that even new stuff can have issues. This company is great and i would recommend them to anyone.

  • Review: I have had this company for 2 years. I have finally had enough. My dishwasher would not heat up and only came on half the time. The first repairman they sent out told me I needed to turn the hot water on in the sink, wait for it to get hot and then turn on my dishwasher! When I ask him why I never had to do that before he told me I didn't know what I was talking about. He was ask to leave my house! Next my pool pump when out. A repairman was sent out and told me he could replace the pump the next day. The warranty company decided to get another repairman to look at the problem. The second repairman could not come out for over a week. When I called the warranty company and ask them who was going to get the "green" out of my pool, they kindly informed me I would be paying for that. Well after many phone calls and heated debates the original repairman was allowed to replace the pump. This company tries to deny all claims, sends out repairmen who do not have a clue, and are just down right rude. I am changing to another company.

  • Review: Four days before Thanksgiving, my oven went out. Yes, I had a turkey and all the trimmings, waiting to be cooked. So I called Sensible, to file a claim. This was my first claim, as I had just signed up with them in Nov, as my previous warranty company stopped issuing policies in my state. I'd read all the reviews on Sensible Home Warranty, and they seeemed like the best choice...and, wow, am I glad I chose them. They kept me informed as to the progress of finding a repairman, and within 48 hours, sent Cox Appliance company to fix the oven. He did a spectacular job, and the oven was fixed in record time for me to cook Thanksgiving dinner.
