  • Review: These guys are amazing. I had my furnace stop working so I called and was given a referral. Unfortunately the company was not able to come out that day. So I called Complete Appliance back and they said I could use any company I could find, I just needed to call for approval before they did the work. I was able to find someone to come out, and they determined that there were several problems, about $800 to fix. I called Complete Appliance for approval, and after they talked to the tech, I was pleasantly suprised that they had approved the work. The cost of the repair was more than the amount that they allow for a replacement, and they still approved the work. Since I had chosen my own repair company, I had to make the payment, and send the invoice into Complete Appliance. After about a week, I had received the check for the entire amount I paid. Even the repair company had said they had never seen a warranty company approved repairs for that amount, especially when it was not their repair company.

  • Review: Issues with this company: 1. Refusing to send a vendor for a Garage Door Opener problem claiming that out of pocket amount to prior vendor for A/C repair was not paid 2. When it turned out ACG was wrong about that claim of non-payment, no regret or apology issued 3. The vendor the sent to fix Garage Door Opener turns out to be a one person company who fixes the Garage Door Opener (where the problem was already diagnosed by me) but will not leave till he is paid (out of pocket) to “balance” the door. When offer to balance door for $190 is refused, he undoes the repair to the Garage Door Opener and leaves in a huff. 4. ACG will not send another technician to give a second opinion and will not provide any other service 5. On then cancelling the service, ACG deducts 15% from the prorated refund 6. During an Arbitration session arranged by BBB, company's proprietor lies about everything. 7. Eventually BBB arbitrator orders ACG to refund part of the unused premium withheld from me but could not resolve anything else since it is not possible to disprove ACG's falsehoods. Bottom line - I would strongly recommend that this company be avoided like the plague.

  • Review: I'm going to try and make this simple. This is the Chicago land area! Be Aware! 1. Oct 2011 Furnace not igniting 2. Contractor comes out, tries to repair 3. HWA calls and says they are sending out someone else 4 New Vendor comes HWA says we need a new furnace 5. $300 plus fee for removal of old unit, and AC parts getting re-established due to furnace being smaller in size 6. HWA says that the install is to be of same model and manufacturer of furnace. 7. Installer comes and installs damaged furnace that is not same make and model 8. HWA says technically it's the same model and manufacturer. Went from a Carrier to a "Payne" 9. HWA says the damaged component will be replaced. 10. 5 Months later the damaged part is replaced. 11. Turn on AC the following spring and water floods into my finished basement 12. Realize that the Drain Pipe from the Part of the AC that sits on top of my new furnace was never re-connected. 13. HWA sends out Furnace installer who re-connects drain line and says he'll try to fix the problem 14. Vendor sends Carpet cleaner a week later who says that you can't get out mildew unless it's within 48 hours of water exposure. 15. Carpet cleaner comes out again and rips up my carpet, spreads some chemical to combat the mildew, and leaves a blower for 2 days. 16. When that doesn't work Vendor says he'll send out a Carpet installer. 17. Vendor Changed his mind 18. HWA offered me $250 not to get his insurance information 19. I am left with no Support from either vendor or HWA, 20. I have my finished basement with ripped up carpet and padding that smells strongly of mildew, with leftover chemicals. 21. I continue to pursue a suitable outcome, through other avenues. I have also had other bad experiences and much more to elaborate, but hey, this is as to the point as I could get. Customer Service here is a front line tactic to manipulate you out of support. I have spent countless hours stating and re stating my situation. No one returns calls, and you get some now rep each time you call. There is no point in getting anyone's extension. Extremely painful, and time consuming. Don't expect them to support you at all, they won't.

  • Review: I used to be a very satisfied customer and referred any one who asked me to use American Home Shield. I have been a customer for 12 years, but this last repair has caused me to rethink using them again. I had a claim on April 28,2012 that fell under the slab leak allotment of $500.00 and I have not heard one thing from the payout department or anyone at American Home Shield without my calling. I have called at least 5 times and have yet to speak with a supervisor. I have had to wait on hold for at least 25 minutes before getting to a customer service representative each time who could do nothing to help with my problem. I called the company who provided the repair and they said that they had provided American Home Shield with the information 2 times with the first time being on the 28th of April, the day of the repair. American Home shield says they have not received this information. As a result I have emailed American Home Shield almost every day and have only heard back from one person who told me that a supervisor would call within 48 hours. She also stated that she would have the pay out department call within that time and they have not called either. So if you are willing to loose %500.00 then I suggest that you deal with American Home Shield Warranty company. Pansy Dillahunty

  • Review: Sure AHS is a great company when you have to have a plumber come over and snake a drain. Anything bigger or a replacement , forget it. What a joke. My water heater burst 2 days ago. The vendor came out, said we needed a new one and two days later we still are home with no hot water and no new water heater. The heater is actually still covered by the GE warranty but the vendor wants $600 in ADDITIONAL charges (besides the $75) to install it. I called AHS for some support and to help me understand the additional charges and after being on hold for an "Authorization Specialist", I hung up. Now I am dealing with the vendor on my own. Why did I just renew for $536 when they are of no use in a home crisis? They wouldn't cover the broken glass door in my oven last year either - they said it was "user error". I have contacted them to cancel my contract and American Express to make sure the credit comes. What a poorly run company - maybe they are partners with Time Warner.

  • Review: This home warranty is a RIPOFF. This has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with. I have never been so upset with a company in my life. I had recently purchased a foreclosure and Freddie Mac paid for the homewarranty for the first 2 years. We moved in the summer and air and furnace quit working. We decided to submit a claim to get the air unit fixed and also the furnace. Home Protect sent a tech out to my house that just said it was the wiring left three words on my paper and that its. Home Protect calls me and says Sorry not covered "wiring is installed wrong, water damage to the board and also thermastat is installed incorrectly. They are telling me this after a certified inspector looked at everything 2 weeks ago and turned the unit on and everything worked. Called several times and still 100 hoops and excuses by Home Protect. So decided I am going to call a differenct heating and cooling company to get a second opinion and diagnosis. Had them come out " a wire had come off the AC unit and cause the fuse to blow on the circuit board and needed a little FReeon gas. $150 later up and running again. This warranty is a big ripoff PLEASE PLEASE read the fine print and BUYERS BEWARE. Never did get reimbursed by HOme Protect.

  • Review: I have the “full house” coverage which includes the AC and furnance. In the fall I had an issue with my AC. It was original to the house (over 20 years old) and new it was not going to be a cheap repair. I signed up with statewide warranty after a family member recommended it to me and when spring came around, I had a repair tech come out and give his opinion on repair versus replacement. It ended up being more cost effective to have the system replaced and CAP didn’t fuss about the $850 they will put toward a new system. Very good experience dealing with statewide warranty and the vendor that I got to choose. No deductibles. Excellent customer service. Great company.company came out the same day

  • Review: We had a complex electrical problem with our Lennox system. Our technician Michael Hamby from Breezeway Heating & Cooling GA was absolutely awesome. His dedication, professionalism, and technical ability diagnosed the problem, then isolated the fault thru a myriad of wires, and now our system is running great. Oh, and you couldn't meet a nicer guy. From now on the only one we will trust to service our unit is Breezeway and we will ask for Michael by name. Kudos to HWA for your quick response and having Breezeway on your team. They are a big asset. Thank you!

  • Review: Had 2 different service calls for central air not working. In both cases the service companies said that it was due to poor maitenence and had to pay $220.00, than $80 for cleaning services etc. on top of $60.00 deductible. One service company told me flat out that he has never seen AHS replace a central air or HVAC unit for anyone and will do whatever it takes to frankenstein and jimmy rig whatever unit you have. Just heard that I can get the same type of coverage thru my gas/electric company for about the 10th of the cost.

  • Review: This is a company with a clear track record of bad behavior...most of the time, seems they do all they can to deny a claim. They are very clear that your warranty is for things that "become inoperable due to normal wear and tear", (direct quote, page 10), and then they, in my case, deny a claim for a 30 year old AC blower motor failure in Texas because of "lack of service maintenance". Really? After 30 years? The motor maker deserves a medal for how long it lasted. AHS deserves a thumbs down. They deny, refuse a second opinion, and you have no recourse. Don't just take my word for it, use Google, or Yelp. You will be surprised. And what you find will make your decision for you.

  • Review: Some of the repair companies Sensible home Warranty works with are not very reliable but the last company sent out for my stove repair was. He made an appointment in a timely manner and showed up at a time and date agreed upon. He was the second company assigned to the repair, first company did not bother to show up even when the time was verified on the morning of the appointment. I hope they don't use them anymore!

  • Review: I ordered a service call on 5/2/12 and paid the $45 duductible. Air conditioner needed service. No one was dispatched to home in eight days. Eight days is unacceptable for this service. A call to customer service states deductible is non-refundable. I had to call someone myself to service the air conditioner. ONLY use this company if you want poor service. NO on the other hand DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

  • Review: I recently cancelled my policy with HWA. This is the first time using HWA because I purchased this condo and it comes with a warranty. The air conditioning doesn't cool down the unit and I called the HWA. They responded quickly and also sent technician quickly. However, to authorize the service is a different story. They declined the first technician and sent a second opinion. The AC has a leak and they won't approve the repair until they found out where the leak is. So basically had to sent someone again if they approve the repair. I had to take time off work multiple times. And ask permission from neighbor's unit (that is only access to the roof) multiple times. Its not worth to have the warrenty if you have a life! I contacted them and cancelled the policy, they told me that there is no refund. I don't get anything fixed and yet no refund at all. I feel that they just don't care about the customer. I don't know how a business like this could last.
