- Review: Not recommended! This company probably has the worst customer service I have ever experience. They rarely answer the phone and never return calls. I was in the call queue for an hour waiting for someone to pick up the call; however no one answered. I filed a claim concerning my heat pump on 12DEC. I explained that I had no heat and would appreciate prompt service. I had to call the company several times just to get the claim assigned and have a tech to come out to check the unit. On 23DEC, the service tech diagnosed the problem and recommended replacement of unit. He called the company 3 times; however couldn’t get anyone to answer so he left. The next week, I was able to reach the company and faxed the invoice to the claims manager as requested. Days later after my fax, there were no response. I contacted the company and was told to submit a different invoice for repairs; because they would not replace the unit. On 4 JAN, I called the company and was told that they now need maintenance records even though I recently bought the house. I was given the claims manager’s number which I left him a message requesting a return call; however he did not return my call. Contacted the company again and the claims rep stated that the claim would be denied due to no maintenance records. She informed that I need to speak with the claims manager for details. DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

- Review: Every time I have called in for repair I have had very poor response and continue to get less than qualified repair people the first time out. Which by the way more than likely I have waited at least 4 -6 days for repair. Not satisfactory in my book.

- Review: We have had AHS for almost 5 years now, and we never had used their service until recently for minor cleaning on our AC Unit. Now comes our washing machine in which it's been broking for close to 3 weeks with several running around they have provide. They sent a contractor to fix our issue and the technician arrive without his proper tools and couldn't fixed the problem. My husband and I have lost two days of work for a service that hasn’t been fixed. Over the past couple of years the quality and professionalism of the contractors they use have seriously declined. I would not recommend AHS.

- Review: I placed a service call for low pressure in my guest bedroom tub and shower. Customer Service Rep was very professional and she even stated that system was down and that there was a backlog in putting request into system. She said that it may be 6 days before I could get a technician out. This was hardly the case. I received a call back almost immediately from the plumber that was assigned to me and they gave me an estimated date for the next day between 1-5. Technician was early, they called to ask if they could come at about 12:30. He was very professional and he had to leave to get a part and immediately returned and fixed the problem. I am truly satisfied my my service call. It was the first and I hope they will all be like that in the future. My son also, uses them and they are satisfied too.

- Review: I had a recent problem with my refrigerator where it was cutting off and turning back on intermittently. I lost a whole refrigerator's worth of food in the process. I called ASH and they sent a contractor out who told me it was dirty around the condensor. The refrigerator was working at thjat point. He left (never cleaned out the area) and the next day the fridge was doing the same thing. I called back to AHS and requested another technician. He came out and could not find anything wrong. Again, the refrigerator shut off. I called again (in the meantime I got so pissed off I bought a new refrigerator and placed the old one in the garage). The technician came out for the third time and said he thought the cooling timer might be going bad. He called it in and the ASH told him that if it wasn't broken they could not replace it. I went online and ordered the parts myself (spent $80) and fixed it myself. It's been running fine ever since. I spent $60 for those contractors to come out to tell me they couldn't fix the problem. I've had AHS for a few years now and I have come to the conclusion that they are indeed a rip off.

- Review: They were quick to give bad service. I am aware that a Home Warranty doesn't cover much but to send out people that do not actually do anything except take your $100 that is unacceptable. I would think they could at least provide someone that can troubleshoot what is wrong with the system but that is not the case. They sent out someone that could not communicate what was wrong, that didn't want to show me what was wrong, and could only tell me it needed preventative maintenance which is not what it needed. I could have paid $100 for a bum off the street to come and open the heater and get the same results, nothing solved and me down a $100. The took the person off of their list which means nothing to me because the money is gone and nothing had been done.

- Review: This company is a BIG SCAM. American Home Shield, will never respond for any repair on time. They will never replace any coverage equipment under any circumstances. So I urge you not to waste your valuable time and money on this company. You are better of calling a service company, and most likely they will be there next day.

- Review: Over the past serveral yrs Ive had many home warranty companies. CHW is by far the most reliable company Ive ever dealt with. I just completed my 3rd claim with Choice and their service is beyond compare. The claim approval was done over the the phone on the first call, unlike many other companies that keep you on hold and make you jump thru hoops. I love Choice Home Warranty!

- Review: As part of the closing on my first home, I received a one-year agreement with this company. I've had to call a couple of times (leaky toilet and busted part in my heating system) and have had quick response and resolution of my problems. I do have to agree that they tend to send people from out of the area. Living in the Washington, DC metro area, there are a zillion different companies that could have responded to either of my calls, but they chose companies who are 45 miles or more away. Doesn't really make sense. My biggest argument is the price. I have done some comparison shopping in anticipation of my renewal date and have found other companies whose premiums are more than $130 less per year and whose service fees are $15 less per visit. I'm going to do a little more digging to see how these companies compare, but it's looking like they have better ratings on this site and are signficantly cheaper!

- Review: My heat has been out since 12/30/09 and have been waiting for a part to be delivered. After reviewing other complaints online, I am convinced I am getting the run around about the part (induser motor) to be delivered. I have been pressing them all week to have the part delivered immediately so that my family has heat however; they are unresponsive to numerous calls and unwilling to help. My family has been without heat for almost a week and was just told today the part may not arrive for 6 more days. I feel media pressure on scams such as this should be addressed as well.

- Review: Thank god all they owe us is 70.00, but when calling to collect the money they speak so fast and so low that you can't understand them. When you ask for a supervisor your put on hold till you hang up. They then had the nerve to call and ask if we would do another call for them. HAHAHAHA Stay away service providers AHS, 2-10 Old Republic, Cross Country Home Services, and 1st American. They pay.

- Review: In reading the fine print on the contract, this company esentially provides almost no coverage of any items that might actually break. Of those items they do cover, there are so many exclusions and caveats that the end result is the seam - you pay for no actual coverage. Case in point is the first cliam I attemtped to make. The front of the plicy states "Plumbig System Included." However, on the back pages, in fine print, you fine that sewage ejector pumps, which are a relatively high fail item and range between $1000 to $1400 for repair, are not covered, and which was one reason I took out the policy in the first place. Stay away from this company. They offer no real coverage for thie money.

- Review: I am not sure how this company stays in business??? The customer service is horrible and their excuses for not covering your claim are ranging from lies to made up limitations. By the way they told us that our AC claim will not be covered since they made a mistake which they were not aware of since 2003 (another lie). They knew the facts but just kept collecting our money. We are paying for regular maintanace to our duct system and AC so this problem is not caused by lack of resposibility from our site. By the way if you think that customer service is there for you as a customer you are in for rude awakening with this excuse for a business.

- Review: We were unable to reach a supervisor after several calls, fax, email and letters with our concern. The email on their website went to another company. They called the contractor 4 times until they got the answer they wanted so they could deny our claim. Written document from the contractor stated the actual cause for replacement as a bad transmission, yet, they said they had a different verbal report and refused to esculate to a supervisor or replace the part. I do not recommend this company.

- Review: I have two contracts with Nationwide. Both will end on Dec 27, 2008. They charged me for renew on Nov 2, 2008 without any notice. I called on 11/6, 11/12, and 11/18, told them I don't want to renew and I never authorized any automatic renew either. They said I'll see the refund on my credit card in a couple of days. I waited until 11/25. No refund. I called again, they said my credit card company doesn't allow refund if the charge is within 30 days. I called my credit card company, they never heard of such things. So I have to dispute the two transactions with my credit card company. I've reported to BBB, Complain.com and FTC (Federal Trade Commission)on 11/6. Only received confirm emails of the reports. Is there any way we victims can do to get our money back or at least protect other people from suffer from them?
