Does anyone have any information on this company? I can’t find anything on them besides their webpage.
I bought a foreclosure so I closed the deal with a bank. A month after purchase, my HVAC or heating unit went out in November. Choice Home requested maintenance records on HVAC from 5 years back but the previous owner was a bank and the person who was in foreclosure is long gone. So Choice Home didn’t cover anything! Choice Home’s contractual agreement is even confusing. The agreement states that they don’t cover pre-existing conditions detected from home inspections but there’s nothing in the agreement about home inspections finding everything in proper working order. TAKE THE CROOKS TO JAIL!
I just cancelled my contract with them. I put in my first claim and they used every way to get out of paying for it. They picked apart words used by the contractor to deny the claim. It was a simple water leak, but when asked why the contractor said old age. When that wasn’t enough, they keep asking him why and he finally said corrosion, which they said is not covered.
I have been with Choice for 6 years now, anytime my problem is big or small i know ill have a professinal in my home in no time…2 thumbs up!
I am pretty handy around the house and throughout my life I was able to fix almost anything. When I reached 72 my wife convinced me to purchase a warranty from Choice.
I realized the value of the warranty when my heat went out in the middle of the night, within 3 hours i had a tech at my home working on it.
I am very pleased with Choice and they are delightful to speak to on the phone. Thanks Choice for always being there for me and my wife Marsha.

I joined Choice Home Warranty because their rate is low, but I regret it because a lot of things they don’t cover. For example, they don’t cover leak because of the fixture such as the faucet, so my first claim was not accepted.
My built-in microware quits working from time to time and the light and turn table aren’t working during cooking. I submitted a new claim for built-in microware on 12/29/08. The assigned technician came, but didn’t do any repair because it heated up fine (he heated for 1 minute), though the light and turn table weren’t working while he was there. I cleaned the grease filters as suggested by the technician, but the broke down problem still exists.
I called the CSR at Choice later and again on 1/7/09. I was told that the contractor is still trying to figure out how to solve the problem and asked me to be patient. Meantime, the CSR asked me to video tape the broke down situation because the oven works fine while the technician was there.
After broke down so many times, we finally realize the microware shuts down by itself after 2 minutes or less and power comes back up in about 5-10 minutes. After several attempts, I managed to tape the whole thing via my cell phone. I email the file to Choice, as requested, on 1/8/09.
I called Choice on 1/12/09 and asked if they have receive the video. He said yes, but they couldn’t watch it. He asked to resend, but I told him I can’t because I have no control of what format. I told him he can ask the technician to come and check. He then told me it is not covered because the grease catcher was not cleaned properly…etc. This really makes me very unhappy because they have wasted so many days of my time and asked me to tape it. If they have no intention to cover, why they want to waste my time and energy.
I decided to call back to cancel my contract. The CSR said they have to review my account and I have to wait for the verdict later. What kind of service crap it is.
Please do not make the mistake of choosing this home warranty company as I have! You cannot get your money back.
Buyer Beware: I have a dishwasher deemed irrepairable. Ron Stillwater reported that they will replace my dishwasher but it will take 8-12 weeks or I can buy out for 113.00 (which is the wholesale price of the dishwasher on back order). If I choose the buyout option they will not cover installation. Anyone know where I can buy a basic model new dishwasher and have it installed for $113.00?
I am unable to come up with the extra money to make up the difference between the buy out amount and the actual cost of replacing the dishwasher and now have to wait 8-12 with no guarantee that it will be available by 12 weeks.
In addition to the above, the customer service reps dealing with open claims are:
-rude
-condescending
-lack knowledge of claim determination process
If you ask questions beyond their script they cannot answer specific questions about the how the buy out amount was determined, how many wholesale companies do they use to provide replacement appliances etc..
Ron Stillwater’s answer is that I am lucky that they will pay that much as a buy out because my dishwasher is aged. Their offer is “generous” .

Neither replaced appliance or cashed out at fair market value; claiming a pre-existing condition!
Basically, Choice Home Warranty would not honor a single item of the Home warranty that i purchased. One manager, Ron Stillwater actually swore and hung up on us. Our water hear broke and, as our finished basement flooded, he told the plumbers to leave as they would not have an approval / denial answer for 3 days!!!. we had to pay for everything in the end and Choice wouldnt do anything to help. Not they wont even talk to us even though we still have our warranty (they wont even allow us to cancel it).
Like many of the other reviews submitted, we just filed our first claim for a washing machine that the contractor deemed too costly to repair. CHW gave us the run around for a week, consistently put us on long holds on the phone, and couldn’t answer any questions that weren’t in their script. We also were told our washer replacement would take 8-12 weeks since it was back-ordered (funny how everyone’s appliances are all 8-12 weeks back-ordered…) They “generously” offered us $186.77 for our washer due to it’s age. Very rude, condescending “customer services” staff. Could NEVER get a manager to call us back. Did finally get an email and they told us we just didn’t read the contract properly and they were going above and beyond the policy for us already and we should be grateful. We are taking the advice of other reviewers and calling our credit card company. American Home Shield has a class action suit – CHW should have one against them too!

I made a horrible mistake whenn taking Choice Home Warranty as my home warranty provider. I was shocked when the problem cccured. My A/C unit was not doing its job, the unit outside stop blowing and there was no cool air. I proceeded to call my CHW they sent a tech out. This company was very unprofessinal and I wasn’t impressed with them. Well anyway it turned out that the man couldn’t pin point an exzct problem with it. He suggested that it might be dog hair that is keeping the motor from operating correctly, ok so he ends up leaving with the problem not fixed. I proceeded to call CHW and they said that the claim was closed and that the tech said it was in top working order, I was shocked and outraged and felt taken advantage of by this company. I ended cancelling my service with them and they offered not to charge a 50 dollar cancellation fee. Thanks for nothing CHW.

I am trying to find out if I can take them to lower court. I bought my policy 6 month back and now my water heater is leaking. Contractor came to check and told that it need to be replace. Later afternoon he called me and told that my claim was denied by CHW. I called the customer service, lady told me that it is denied as they do cover corrosion. They told me that I should have done maintenance on water heater yearly. This heater was 24 yrs old and the contractor told me that it has pass 3 times its life expectancy and there is no way to maintain this.
These guys were pretty good compared to the other companies I delt with. I had a sink stoppage and broken disposal and they fixed both. I recommend ya’ll give them a try.
We are a appliance repair service center that CHW contacted and asked us to take a call for a repair on a dryer. We accepted the call, went to the customers home diag. the repair went back put a timer and a start knob on the dryer and we still have not been paid for the job.
This company is not honorable. The parts alone for this job cost us 120.00 not to mention the labor and gas to go 20 miles one way (twice).
I have called several times to inquire and have deliberately been disconnected several times. Horrible, horrible and I think this company is a big scam.

I had an AC problem and it was determined that the compressor needed to be replaced. They said I had to provide exhaustive maintenance records. I provided receipts of all past AC maintenance done on the unit–many were from my own maintenance like changing filters, etc. After faxing to them, they said, I need all the receipts. Who in the world is going to get receipts of every filter replaced. After I provided the as many receipts as possible, they said the records were not what they expected so they denied the claim. I had to fix the AC problem myself!!!! What’s the point of a home warranty service! That is total BS! Watch out for these guys and their super super tiny fineprint which they mail you is not even the complete picture. When I called them, they said they had the right to change the terms anytime and I had to go to their website instead which has different/additional clauses which allows them a way to bail out of a claim. They had to direct me to their website that had additional fineprint which indicated they can ask for maintenance records of all kinds and that gives them reason to deny claims! Even if you do provide the info, they could still deny it. Plus, if you decide to cancel, there is further fineprint that says they could deny the cancellation and if cancelling is not to their benefit, they will charge you for everything they ever did for you during your time with them.
I agree with the other posts. It does not seem Choice wants to honor their contract of replacing or repairing. In my example, our air conditioner was leaking freon and had frozen up. A new coil, and leak detection was recommended by the contractor (alternatively the system should be replaced). Choice approved only replenshing the freon which they said should last us through the cooling season.
This is analogous to putting a band-aid on the problem–neither repair nor replace occured.
Has anyone taken this company to court? I would really appreciate information in this regard. After receiving their advertisements, I cancelled my previous company to switch to Choice Home Warranty. Since I did it over the internet, I expected to receive a contract to review. After not receiving a policy, I called their offices and was told they would call me the next day. THIS WAS THE FIRST FLAG!! They are closed after 3 or 2 pm pacific time. The next morning, I spoke to Mike and told him that I did not want the policy because I did not want a 30 day delay to make it effective since I was going out of town. After supposedly speaking with his supervisors, Mike came back and told me they were making the policy effective as of the payment day. I waited one month until I received the actual policy in the mail!! Then I realized that they lied about the effective date. They did not make it effective as of the payment day. The icing on the cake is that 3 weeks later my water heater broke and as the other reports say, they are saying it is preexisting condition and do not cover! How can we contact each other to put more weight on this issue? Also, What is the dateline website?
I just signed up for this service a few months ago and unfortunately have had to use their services 3 times. I have to say that each time was better than the next. I had dedicated people handling my claims and they were very kind. The best thing is that they were pro-active, always calling me to make sure everything was being handled properly. One of my claims was denied, and they pointed it out to me in the contract, and it was fine. In any case the service was great.

I’ve been checking these reviews ever since I last posted my complaint and I have to say any post on this site that professes to have had good service is actually someone from the company trying to make the company seem like it is legitimate. Trust all the other post that are telling it like it is. Service company’s have been ripped off time and time again and in an ecomomy that is so fragile pertaining to small businesses I find there ethics appalling.
I would also like say that the customer we did the service call for, had the integrity to pay us for the service call that Choice home warranty company should have paid for. It’s really a shame that a nice honest person that paid for a home warrany policy did not reap the benefit of having the policy. Thank you Dawn, there are not to many people that would have had your integrity.

I have only 1 3 letter word for this company. WOW! My Air Conditioner wasn’t working when I woke up this morning, and it was fixed by 3pm. I was worried when I got the appointment scheduled and took off work, I hate to get docked a day when these guys miss the appointment, but the technician was on time, had the parts available in his truck, and I’m sitting in cool air again thanks to choice home warranty.
I’ve used their service for the first time, and must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Exactly what they told me it would be when I purchased.
I have just used this service for the very first time, and am very satisfied. The repair was quick and I only paid $60. I am a very happy customer.
I recently transfered my home warranty to Choice after receiving very poor service from another company. Yesterday had a leak in my home and called in the claim at 10:30PM, this morning a plumber was in my home doing the repair. Ashley from Choice called to make sure the tech arrived on time and that the repair was being handled well. James M said it right, they are very pro-active. 5 Stars from me.
I was very satisfied with the service. My claim was assigned on the first call and the contractor was here the same day. Finally a home warranty company that actually repairs stuff!
The technician came and fixed my frig. within a day. Did a
superbe job. He also taught me how to remedy the situation if it happens again. The frig was leaking onto a solid maple floor which was driving me batty.
I too had a surprising great experience with Choice Home Warranty. I heard nightmarish stories of other companies and was a bit concerned. Choice Home Warranty did right by me and fixed my A/C within a day. Its nice not having to deal with a scam company for a change.
Mom and I signed up together for Choice home warranty service, seemed like a good idea beings mom’s handy man, (husband) had recently passed away.
the sales representative assured us that it did not matter the age of the home or the appliances, and after 30 days of sign up , everything would be covered No Questions asked!!!!!!!! He made it clear that unlike the other companies Choice will honor all repairs or replacements.
3 months after signing up moms central air conditioner Went out, she lives in a mobile home and the temperature gauge was reading over 100 degrees, mom is a 3 time cancer survivor and had just lost the love of her life, and she did not need to hear that Choice would not honor their agreement and cover her A/C unit.
I wrote them a letter, hoping to get some remedy and resolve, they never did reply to my letter.
Mom ended up buying a new A/C unit. Because the loop hole they use is written in the contract, if the appliance has not had yearly professional maintenance check ups then they do not have to repair or replace.
Tell me who has all their appliances professionally checked every year? That is a ridiculous expectation. Well, we have learned The hard way to look for this loop hole in any other Home Warranty service company we might consider.
My first claim was handled great. Very impressed so far. I recommend everyone to switch over. I had AHS for a number of years and they have a habit of putting you thru hoops before fixing anything. 5 stars from me!
I’m a new vendor with these folks and i’m very pleased with the professionalism and responsiveness. the hold time was less than 20sec which excellent compared to other home warranty companies. getting authorization for repairs was also a breeze.
Fantastic service and an overall great experience. My ceiling fan was replaced without hassle. I honestly had my doubts about purchasing another home warranty since National Protection Warranty burned me last year, but I must say I’m a happy camper. Highly recommended.
I placed my first claim with this firm on Monday and my A/C was back up and cooling earlier today. I was impressed that they assigned and scheduled my appointment for service within an hr of placing my claim. AAA Air was also pretty good compared to other guys I have dealt with.

I have to admit that when trying to find home warranty coverage I was very leary. I read comments about other companies plus listening to people that I actually knew complain about the company that held their policy. So the question of whether the comments were true or not did not enter my thoughts. I have just experienced my first appliance problem. I called immediately, talked to someone explaining what had happened. The next day a repairman had called me and set up a time to come out. ALL schedules were kept and my appliance was fixed with 3 calls from Choice Home Warranty. First, to make sure I had been contacted by the repairman and an appointment had been made; again they called to make sure they had kept the appointment and since the repairman had to get another part that was not expected (which I relayed to CHW)I was called again to make sure I was satisfied with the repair and my whole experience. I have only had one experience but from this one I would recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone.

I just had my garbage disposal replaced by choice. Very pleased and impressed with the whole experience. Much better than ahs and I was with them for 6 years.
Well I bought this home warranty and had my usual doubts. I was burned by National Protection Warranty, and figured these guys were another scam. However, Choice fixed my AC the very same day I made the claim call. I WAS AMAZED!!! No hassles and no excuses LOL. I couldn’t believe it! I finally found a warranty company that doesn’t jerk you around…and belive you me I’ve been through them all. Thank you Choice Home Warranty!
I would think twice before taking this company. There is a clause “known or unknown pre-existing conditions, deficiencies and/or defects” that they could freely use at any time not to cover anything. My AC unit broke, I made my claim and being honest the assigned a technician very fast which was good. When the technician came, he didn’t fix anything (105F degrees) but made a report and send it to these guys. The problem was the compressor and needed to be replaced. The next day they called telling that they denied the claim. 1st they told me that is was because I was only 25 days on the plan which didn’t make sense and then they corrected it and use the clause I stated before. Talked to their own technician and he told me that a compressor either work or not (white or blank). No sense at all with pre-existing clause for it. I called and ask for a Manager, they didn’t have any at that time 10:00 am, but told me that he will call in about 24 hours. 3 days later I called them since nobody called me, they were reluctant to bring the manager but finally one answered…after discussing he said he will call me in an hour. 6 hours later I called since didn’t receive any call, I talked to the supposed manager. He said he called me and let me a message which is a lie. Bottom line, they didn’t cover anything supposedly for a pre-existing “unknow” issue that its own technician says that thing doesn’t exist. I canceled right away the contract with these guys since I really do not know what to expect and can not rely on a not serious at all company. Is someone read this please take my advice, DO NOT TAKE THIS GUYS, and I am serious. After reading many of these reviews I can see that they only fix minor things, when something expensive shows they will use its ridiculous clause and screw you. Do not let them do that with you. My mistake was to change from a another company I had before and with which I never have any issue to this one for a few bucks, I really regret that. I am sure the guy who commented just before me is either someone from this company or the problem with his AC was just a fuse or another really cheap problem. Just wait if you have a big one and you will see.

I’d just like to share my pleasant experience with Choice Warranty. I had a real problem with my AC for years and couldnt seem to get it right. I’ve been through many other companies and all of them denied me. I took a chance with Choice and signed up. I thought they were going to deny me like the rest, but I luckily I was wrong. Hank from AAA Air was the most knowledgable tech I’ve met and fixed my unit to run cool as new. Troy from CHW was also a pleasure to deal with. He helped me every step of the way. If you are in the market for a home warranty you should consider Choice Home Warranty.

The only complaint that i have is that it took the service provider approx. 30 before he got authorization to do the plumbing job. After the authorization was granted it only took approx. 10 mins to fix the problem. Overall the service was great i recommend having this warranty to any homeowner. It will save you time money and a headache.

Service from Choice Home Warranty was perfect. The technician on the other hand was also good but not great. The only reason why I gave him a 4 instead of a 5 is because he had mud on his boots and got dirt on my floor. Other than that I was very happy with the services I received. The price was also great so overall I’m a happy camper.
my garbage disposal was leaking, it was due to a crack in the casing. A repairwoman came 2 days after i called and replaced it – no question.
Except for the fact that she was booked all day the day after my call and could not make it earlier, she did an excellent job.
I would just like to say how happy I was using your services recently. Everytime something used to break I was always so worried about the contractor & repair cost, now with Choice I don’t have to worry anymore.

I used to have National Home Protection which is out of business and under investigation, but I switched to Choice Home Warranty in May. I just made my first claim yesterday for a plumbing leak, and the leak is repaired! No hassles. I am a very satisfied customer of Choice, and want to thank Jessica Andrews as she was so nice and helpful, I even tried to ask her out, but she turned me down

Pleased with the services I received. CHW repaired my sink clog and the technician was really nice too.
My ac was out in the middle of a heatwave and choice repaired it with no hassles. The only problem was that it the service man was booked up and could not come out until the next day, but I have to give credit to the choice customer service people, very nice and caring.

In reading the fine print on the contract, this company esentially provides almost no coverage of any items that might actually break. Of those items they do cover, there are so many exclusions and caveats that the end result is the seam – you pay for no actual coverage.
Case in point is the first cliam I attemtped to make. The front of the plicy states “Plumbig System Included.” However, on the back pages, in fine print, you fine that sewage ejector pumps, which are a relatively high fail item and range between $1000 to $1400 for repair, are not covered, and which was one reason I took out the policy in the first place.
Stay away from this company. They offer no real coverage for thie money.
I recently switched to Choice Home Warranty after using AHS for several years and I must say that their customer service is far superior to AHS. They were in constant contact with me during the entire claims process calling to help me with anything I needed. I would recommend switching to Choice Home Warranty.
I rate my eperience with choice home warrenty good except that one time when I called their computers were down and I had call back. they fix my refrigerater very good. I was happey.
My kitchen sink began draining extremely slow on a Sunday afternoon. Thinking it was nothing serious, I poured Drano Max Gel into the drain, hoping to fix the problem. The following morning, the water had drained out but the sink was still clogged. I went to the website for CHW to place a claim. A local Plumbing Compamy arrived at my home within 90 minutes. The drain was cleared in 15 minutes. I was more than pleased!
I purchased coverage with this company in July. So far I had a small plumbing backup in the basement and it was fixd very quick. I hope I have no other problems this year but if I do at least I have coverage with a good company. I am very pleased with my decsion to go with this company.
Very fast to set up first appointment. Kept in touch but scheduled company did not do service needed. Re-scheduled quickly and kept in touch reguarding new contarctor. But when quote submitted by contractor, no further communication from them. Have been trying for weeks now to get action. Was told contactor did not submit data, but contractor told me he submitted three times! Promised to have manager get back to me within 24 hours, 5 days later no call back. It seems that they are looking for a way not to pay claim. Contractor told me that they keep asking him if could have been pre-existing and they do not like his quote because it involves having to bring the unit up to code. (Which is included in their policy!) We are now in over a month and waiting. In the mean time the item is inoperative and per the contractor even dangerous to use. This should have been delt with promptly per their promises.
My AC stopped cooling. After initial call, on Friday, they gave the service to a Sewer & Plumbing contractor. When I raised the question about this contractor, I was assured that they also do AC work. When I called the contractor, he was surprised of why insurance co gave the job to him, he did not so any AC work. I had to wait till Monday to call the insurance co to ask for another service provider.
The next service guy did not show up Monday on his appointment but came in on Tuesday, the next day. His diagnosis was that the compressor and 3 capacitors of condensor unit have to be change with an estimated cost of $1,100.
Insurance co called me and wanted prior maintenace records on that unit. Which I don’t keep. For this reason and for the old of the unit, repair was refused. As every one knows, the capacitors and compressor unit are enclosed units and are not servicable. Compressor is rechargable, but that was not the cause of repair.
Insurance co send another contractor for second opinion and they got the same diagnosis.
Repair was refused. I canceled the contract with them today.
Please do not contract with this co or any high cost repair will be refuesed based on lack of maintenance or old age, the two commonly used excuses by home warranty companies.
I wanted to say that I am very pleased with Choice Home Warranty. I had a problem with my garage and they sent A and M Garage Door, he came out the same date and He replaced our garage door opener within two hours. I will definately renew when the time comes.
my refrigerator was not colling and the freezer totally melter. i called for service and was told my compressor was dead and needed a new one. everythingwas great except i had to wait 24hours for the new compressor
I own 4 rental properties that I had with AHS for years. Everytime I had to get a repair done is was a hassle and they would only bandaid the problem. I switched to Choice Home Warranty a few months ago and am very satisfied with their quick repair services. Instead of a bandaid they actually repair and replace. Even my tenants have noticed the difference. Choice Home Warranty is cheaper and better.
I just got an email from Troy McDermott to review my recent experience with Choice Home Warranty. I always ignore this kind of stuff but I had to review choice because I can’t remember the last time I had such excellent service from a company. The representatives were sensitive to my situation since I had a baby in the house and the ac was out. They kept in contact with me to make sure the A1 Air was on time and handling the repair. I gave them a 4 for service timeliness because A1 was 30 minutes late for the appointment, but for the overall rating I gave Choice a 5.
When my washer/dryer broke i didnt know what to do. I then realized i had a purchased a home warranty from Choice. The fellas over there processed my claim the same day and had a repairman out the following day. The $380 i invested in that warranty was well worth the peace of mind it now gives me.

We were with another Home Warranty company for years, they were always increasing their rates without improving service. Choice Warranty beat my expectations!! Excellent customer service. Thank you for thinking about the customer first!!
Overall I am very happy with Choice Home Warranty, except when I made the claim it took B&M Garage Doors 3 hours to call me and set up the appointment. I thought it was going to be faster. They did replace my garage door opener the next day and I only paid a $45 service call fee. It was very easy.
Arrival time was to be between 9 & 12.00. He arrived around 9:30. Very professional. I had another service company that was a disgrace. I am so happy I found Choice Home Warranty. Hope if I need any more repairs the techicians are as professional as the one I had today.
I was very satisfied with my service call from choice. The technician told me that his company gives choice’s customers priority over other warranties because they pay quick and the people are nice and professional. When the service people like the company I think the service has to better, just like all other people – when they like the job they work better. I am satisfied with my choice in choice.
We have had two repairs called in, both were very quickly responded to via phone and email and repairs completed within a day. Would recommend Choice!
The repairman was at my home a few hours after my call. He diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor on my fridge. Very odd on a 4 1/2 year old Maytag. Turned out I am still covered by the warranty.
Total follow through on my satisfaction with their service was done within 24 hours.

There was a leak under the kitchen sink. The plumber showed up right on time. Replaced the part that was cracked and went on his way. He was professional, polite, and we were pleased. So far, so good!!!

Choice Home Warranty is the most reliable home warranty provider I have used. I was with AHS, HWA, & HSA in the past and they were all slow and annoying to deal with. Choice is a pleasure to deal with and the job gets done. I am very pleased with their service.

Great experience with Choice Home Warranty. I had a repairman come take a look at my stove and he fixed it, no problems! He was also nice enough to look at my washer without charging me.
We have had two claims denied in less than a year. One was for garbage disposal in the kitchen. They claimed it was because the service provider said that the work was not to code. I was witness to the phone conversation between the service provider and the insurance company; the plumber never said anything of the sort. The second claim just recently denied was on the heater, of which the compressor needs replaced. They indicated that since I could not produce proper maintenance documents, it was denied. The compressor does not require frequent maintenance as it is enclosed and not servicable. The house is 20 years old with original units and we have only been in it two years. All this was made clear when we signed the contract. Obviously a very fraudulent company. DO NOT USE.
I had a great experience with this company. My neighbor told me nightmarish stories about another company she dealt with. I found Choice on the web and gave them a try. My clothes dryer was not heating and they sent me a repairman the same day. I paid a $45 copay and it was all done. I just figured I’d share my experience with anyone shopping around.

I was kind of surprise to see how many contractors are doing business with Choice Home Warranty. They are able to send someone within a business day to fix my dishwasher. We knew its Selinda(sp?) (electrical pump part), but we want a check that worth for the part and labor, so I can buy new dishwasher, rather than patch the problem with extra money from my pocket plus check from Choice Home Warranty. Home Warranty has no problem to issue me the check, they said after 30 business days. Just negative part is waiting the check from the company longer, but overall, the service and response, and customer service are excellent… I know American Home Warranty issued the check faster. I don’t mind to wait a longer, that why I marked 3 on repair/replacement service for length of waiting period, as long I can get new dishwasher.
We switched to choice at the end of August 2009. Their pricing was considerably lower than our current company who we had been with for four years. Thirty seven days later, our air conditioner did not circulate cold air. A technician was sent out and found a leak in one of the valves, cost $400 to repair. The technician (nice guy) said this could not have been pre-existing because, we were super low on the coolent and because we experienced such a dramatic change in the air cooling all at once, it was a rapid leak. Choice stands firm that it was pre-existing and did not cover the repair. You would think that Choice would of looked into our previous home warranty plan to find out that there was never a claim in 4years with them on the air conditioning, or for any thing other than one small valve change in toilet! Four years never having had a problem, then all of a sudden on one Saturday – hot air. Choice blindly sticks with their excuse of it being a pre existing problem. I understand that their are dishonest people out there, that’s why they should check with our previous warranty company to see if we had any air conditioning claims with them. The house is only 9 years old! Give me a break, they did not give us- honest people the benefit of the doubt and offer some kind of resolution. I wish I never tried to save on the yearly fees and would of stayed with my original company. Unless they are somewhat flexible and do something about this, I’m going back to my original company and will tell all to please stay with who you already have.

3p.m. water gushing from supply line on toilet. Luckily there was a shut off valve. Reparman here by 9 a.m. next morning. No problems at all.
Made the claim repair man called fixed the problem no hassles.
I am happy with service. Technician came the same day and fixed the washer. I also had a clog in sink and they sent someone else out and he came the next day and fix that too.
My first claim with Choice went extremely well. The tech was prompt and very knowledgable. I’m pleased with the services I received to date. The follow-up and constant contact with CHW was also great. Thank you!

I was extremely pleased with Madison Plumbing. The tech arrived on time, fixed the problem and was extremely professional. I have to wait until the “seal” dries (48 hours) before we can test the shower to make sure it doesn’t continue to leak but we have several showers so this is not an inconvenience. This is a very good company with an extremely pleasant staff. The receptionist was also very professional and courteous.

Your customer service was wonderful, however, the service provider was not. One technician never showed up. The second one assigned, did not show up for the first appointment, made another one on Monday and did not show up, made another on Tuesday for 9-12 and called at 11:45 to say they had a flat tire and when it was repaired they would be there. They arrived, checks the outlets and repaired them. When I arrived home and tried to replug my TV into the outlet, it sizzled and shorted out in my bedroom, all three plugs and shorted out my Direct TV DVR. Left them a message and have not received a call back.
We reported the problem one afternoon, and the next morning the plumber arrived and fixed it.
Unfortuantly I am a disabled army vetern in a wheelchair and can no longer do the majority of task that come with owning a home. Therefore, I rely greatly on outside assistance. From your timely response to the more than satisfactory completion, the technicians and your service was superb. I’ll be recommending your service to all my family and friends. Thank you!
I was very pleased with the customer service. I received a follow-up call from customer service to confirm that the service vendor had scheduled an appt. He was slow to respond because the calls for service were going to his cell phone instead of office ,according to him. He did schedule an appointment and completed the job.

I made the mistake to purchase 6 policies with Choice Home Warranty. Every time I call for Service, they always have an excuse but the repairs are never covered. I even had second opinions from differnt vendors showing the cause of the repair needed, and they still stick to their excuses. The vendors Choice have show up to get the $45 dollar service fee and leave. I don’t know if it is because Choice does not pay them well or what. I am copiling a list of the repair requests I make to Choice and the second opinions from different vendors. Eventually, I will hire a lawyer with proof of all the requests and file a big lawsuit against choice. They are not honest people and stick to their lies nomatter how much proof you show them.
I purchased a home warranty through Choice on Oct.27, 2009.
Unfortunaltely, the Monday after Thanksgiving, I awoke to a huge water puddle in front of my refigerator. I called Choice and they sent a tech out the same day. The tech informed me it was the “brain” or the electronic control board. I asked what would cause this and he told me it was an electronic part and could last 5 days or 5 years. When the reaparman called Choice to get the approval, Choice DENIED THE REAPAIR, claiming it was “pre-existing” damage. They also asked the tech if he looked around to see if I had another refrigerator I was using. I WAS SHOCKED! I put this warranty on my appliances, because I just had to repair a washing machine, that I couldn’t afford to fix, I had to borrow money from my mom. I am a widow with 2 children, and cannot afford to fix my refigerator now. So until I can save enough money, I am living out of a cooler with ice. I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S office, and the BBB. PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF THE SCAM ARTISTS, THEY WILL ROB YOU.
I purchased a Choice warranty a little more than a month ago and wound up having to call today on two items (of course because around here it could never be just ONE!). My 4 yr old stopped my toilet drain with lord-knows-what but adding Drano on my own only produced styrofoam (?) back in the bowl. And my heat decided to quit on my second level. Anyway, I called Choice this morning. Within literal seconds of my call I rec’d an email so fast with my claim information I accused the phone rep of being psychic for my heat issue. The rep explained that they did not have an immediate assignment for the plumber but would call me back w/in an hour or so and also email me the information. I called the heat/air company and they had an appt for me tomorrow with a thankfully short window time 9who wants to wait ALL day!). I got busy and though “Oh I’ll call the plumber later (Thankfully, we have 4 toilets!)” At 4 pm this afternoon, never having called anyone directly for service, there was a plumber in my driveway who had me snaked out and ready to go in 5 minutes. In fact it took ME longer to put crate my pack of large dogs than it did for him to get my drain snaked and wait for the check. My ONLY complaint was that I wished he’d have called first so the dogs would have been handled. I think I am still in customer service SHOCK. This was only my first time using them and I’m sure you can’t base everything on this one time but I was impressed enough to write this review.

We filed a claim 12-5-2009 because our heater went out. Long story short they denied our claim because they said the unit was not \’properly maintained\’ because we did not have any documentation to send them showing that the system had be serviced every season since we owned the house. The system is 25 years old! Obviously it has been maintained or else it would not have lasted this long. I am an MBA and my husband is a PhD, we keep excellent records/receipts for everything in our home, but never once have we heard of \’seasonal maintenance\’ for a heating system. We are tired of insurance/warranty companies taking our money and not performing the service when we need it. We have paid $500 in premiums/service fees during the 4 months we have had this warranty, and they told us that since we do not have a \’long enough history\’ with them they need all of our maintenance records for the heating system (which is just their way of finding a reason to deny the c
laim). We sent them 2 years worth of service receipts to show the repairs that had been made to the system and they said that was not enough, and that we only sent them documentation for when the system broke, not documentation for how we maintained the system. What is the point of buying a warranty if they are not going to fix items when they break? To add insult to injury the weather is 20 degrees which constitutes emergency service, but after 4 days we still have no heat! We have only had this warranty 4 months and Choice Home Warranty has already breached the contract by not performing emergency service. We filed a complaint with the BBB requesting our heat be fixed or our $500 premium/service fees refunded and this warranty cancelled so we can find a reputable company that will actually perform the service we are paying for!
Choice Home Warranty is a SCAM. People be careful when you sign with them. My Sincere advise for all of you out there is not to do business with them. They are totally illegal.
Choice Home Warranty screwed me big time. The guy who sold me this policy was so nice promising everything until he gets my business. His name is Brad Collins, he said that they will fix any problem that we report with no questions asked. Here is what happened to me.
On Oct 19th 2009 I signed up with these guys. As of last week my heating furnace started making some noise when I turn it onn, which I reported to Choice Home Warranty. I never had any problems before with any of my appliances. Then a technician came to my home & saw the heating furnace (infact he told me that I should pay him first before even he touches my furnace, that is what has been told to him by Choice home warranty, which is fine.) and immediatly he said that the inducer motor has gone bad. This is due to normal wear & tear in the bearings of the motor, then he left. After 2 days I got a call from Choice Home Warranty saying that they will not process my claim unless I provide them the maintainence records (they never mentioned about this when you sign up for the warranty – This is FIRST SCAM). Then I faxed all my maintainence records for the furnace and couple days later they contacted me saying that they will not pay for the claim. That means they will not fix my furnace, the reason stated is that they will not fix any NOISE coming from the furnace. That means basically they will not pay any for any of your complaints/claims. I spend couple hours on phone with their customer service dept, Authorization dept etc.. arguing that when some moving/rotating part in a motor goes bad it does make noise. If it had not made any noise I guess I wouldn’t have come to know the problem itself. What kind of a company who denies the claim on this ground. So basically they are telling me to wait till the heating furnace stops working and then they might fix it(not 100% sure on it), but if my furnace fails, then I have to suffer in this cold during this winter. CHOICE HOME WARRANTY is the WORST company and it is a SCAM, not legitimate business.
Hence, I filed a company with BBB (better Business Bureau) on how they are cheating people. Hence guys, please be careful when you sign up for something like this.

I bought a warranty from this company in January 09. called them in March 09, because my oven was not working, so after four calls my oven is still not fix and I also called for my air conditioner to be fix and that is also not fixed. This company is running a scam and is taking advantage of innocent consumers. I called the company to complain and they said something about pre existing conditions. I advised them that the appliance was about two years old, but they still did not want to fix it. I got upset and told them I was going to contact an attorney and that’s when Mr. Reed call me an back and stated he could give me back about $117.00 on my contract. I told him I will be contacting an attorney, but he did not care. He is an arrogant prick and does not care what you do. Please do not buy a warranty from this company they have so many complaints against them with the BBB.
Not worth getting coverage from this company. They find loopholes and exploit customers. Really bad business practice.
I bought a warranty from this company in September 09. I called them in October 09, because my oven was not working properly, a technician came out to fix the oven;Informed me that the oven was repaired. Later, I went to use the oven and receive an error message. I called Choice to informed them of problem. I received a call from a customer service representative informing me that they would send a technician back out to resolve the problem. I received a call the next day from the customer service rep; informing me that they were not going to cover the repair, after they informed me that they would and said something about pre existing conditions. I requested a refund, I was told a supervisor would call. I did not hear back from a Supervisor for a week. A Supervisor named, Mr. Reed call me back. Mr. Reed was very unprofessional and arrogant; lack customer service skills. I am still waiting for a refund.
Please do not buy a warranty from this company they have so many complaints against them with the BBB.
I was a little skeptical reading other responses from this company until I recently had a problem with my water heater. The water heater was 19 yrs old and in good shape, had minimum rust and was leaking water from the bottom. I called Choice and they sent the claim to the review board (not sure who they are) and I was told that the it was not covered under their warranty due to it not holding water in the holding tank, which is not covered under the warranty. Be sure to look at your policy, this company will do anything to avoid a claim if possible.
I am trying Choice on the home I recently moved to. I have had another home warranty service for many years but thought I’d give Choice a try because they offered me a great deal. I do need to verify my deductible though, the rep told me it was 45.00 but I noticed on the feedback sheet just sent it said 50.00.
I called about my well yesterday and as another person commented I literally had an email from Choice confirming the service technician. I did have to call back because they assigned me a plumber vs a well specialist but they took care of it immediately and I had a call within a few hours from a well company.
The well technician was here today and we believe he has taken care of the problem. I had positive results in less than 20 min. Hopefully, we will have positive results for the work that was performed and no other money due. The young man from the well service was very professional and made recommendations on how we can be proactive taking care of our well.
I am impressed with their customer service reps over the phone so far but this is my first request through Choice. I hope that any future repair work will be handled as promptly and professionally as this was.

I am very dissatified with the services with Choice Home Warrany because I do not feel that my heating service was taken care of during the coldest days of the winter, we had no heat in the house. I feel that we was given the run around on this order. I am not happiy about my services. I feel that with an emergency situation was not taken care of in a timely. I was very inconvencienced with my husband, two children and two pets during this time. Each day I had to call and talk to someone to find out the status. If 2 technichians was needed I feel during my emergency both should have been sent out on the same day and the request that Choice ask of us to send a copy showing proof of our Heating/AC unit being serviced be faxed on the same day.

Microwave stopped working (ugh, use it daily). Called Choice at 7am. first name of appliance repair said they couldn’t come until Monday (today is Thursday). Called Choice and asked if they could give me another company. Gave me AAA Able Appliances. Called them, and they came this morning, fixed the problem with no fuss, no muss. Paid my deductible and made my lunch in the microwave. Excellent job!
I had the gas pipe leak in my house. The gas company came to check and shut down my gas.
With the urgency of having children in the house, it’s very difficulty to live without gas.
I called CHW, they gave me the phone numbers of several contractors that not wanting to work for warranty customer. Each time, I have to wait for an hour before calling the contractor just to get disappointed result. The contractors are either not working in my area or not willing to work with Choice Home Warranty customer due to not getting paid. Then call CHW back to have the same problem repeat over and over again. I even begged them for urgency, but they never care.
Two days later, I can’t hold any more and called a local plumber company to fix the problem costing me $4500 out of pocket.
I called back CHW asking for the reimbursement, they keep transfer me around for 7-8 times after getting my information. Then a gentlement finally promised to email me a claim form but never did.
I called, email with cc to JMoss (the man claimed to be CHW president), and add message in the claim status but still no response.
On their web site stating a-Ok with onlinebusinessbureau.com, but that bureau is a scam itself. I contacted that site to complaint about CHW but nobody bothers to look at my complaint. I then google search just to learn that onlinebusinessbureau is a scam.
The serviceman is unable to access underneath the dishwasher for repair. He is requesting that a cabinet maker remove a wood panel before he can replace the pump. I would have preferred someone who could have taken care of everything himself.
I have never written a review about a company in my life, but I just had to come and write about my experience with Choice Home Warranty. They replaced my heating unit when it broke down last week, and it was quick and efficient. The people were friendly and hepful and the experience could not have gone any better. I am very happy with Choice, especially Jessica. I am definately a lifetime customer now.
I had a heat issue recently and ti was taken care of promptly. The company was very efficient and seemed to really care. I think it is very hard to find companies like that these days, and just wanted to say that I am happy with my “choice” in choice!
Avoid this company like the plague. Did not honor warranty when heater broke and said we had rust in the unit and corrosion. I have two invoices from a repairman I called out and one they called out. Both stated to me my 15 yr. old unit had normal wear and tear. I have filed with the BBB and the NJ Attorney General’s office. When my husband told the manager we had pictures of the broken heater unit to prove there was NOT rust he stated “how do we know the pictures are of your heater?” We my husband told the manager that both repairmen stated our unit had normal wear and tear he said “You could have paid them $20 to say that.” Save your $$$ and stay away from this company.
This is the first time I have used this company. Customer service was excellent. Prompt with setting up the service and follow up. Repair service for my Sub Zero was the same day I telephoned. They were highly professional and fixed the problem.

Since my emergency repair (hot water heater leaking water through my ceiling) happened when the authorization department was closed (4:45 on a Friday afternoon), I was inelligible for reinbursement. I had multiple representatives tell me it would not be a problem, but $1400 out of my pocket later, I’d say it was a problem. One claims rep told me that I should have just had my water turned off for the weekend until they could get someone out there. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Overall I am pleased with this company in comparison to some bad ones i had in the past. The only problem was that the guy didnt come out and do the repair the same day, he was here 8 am the morning after i made the claim. But besides that it was quick and smooth, just like the salesperson said it would be.
My overall experience with this company was pleasant. They were on courteous, on time, and took care of my heating problem quickly. I was with national home warranty which was a nightmare, and also with american home shield which covered nothing. As long as everything stays good with Choice Home Warranty, I will renew for sure.
This is my second year with choice home warranty, we have only had to use their services twice, and both times their response times exceeded my expectations. I have had other home warranties in the past, but choice is by far the best that i’ve used. They know the way.
DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE GOOD REVIEWS they are posted by company personnel. This company has FFFFFF rating with BBB. Worst rating you can have. They take your money for home warranty and have absolutely NO intention of solving your repair issue.Horrible customer service. Rude, keep you on hold, give you a run around for days and days. I just recently purchased my home warranty and within two weeks had a repair need. I filed my claim online and within a few hours received a phone call from the vendor indicating they could have a man out within the hour. Now that is what I call service.
I had a a contractor sent out by choice home warranty to fix my furnace in November that was not working in below freezing weather. The contractor found out right away what the problem was and had the new part on the truck and installed it and the furnace was running very well.The problem started when he went to call for auth. thru choice home warranty, oh no it was friday evening and every body had gone home for the week end.The contractor took out the part and left and said he would try to get auth the next week. The next week came and choice auth. the repair and I re booked the app. for the first part of the week, by the way did I mention it was below freezing. By the first of the week I had heat again, but now the contractor is billing me for the repair, says choice will not pay him since November. I had another bad situation with choice at one of my other houses also with the hvac system. I called because my ac would not come on. I should have thought there would have been a problem because I had only had the contract a few months, but when I switched home warranty co. choice sales rep told me since I already had coverage that everything would be covered,these guys must work on commission,but back to the ac unit. The contractor came out and looked around and said the unit needs to be replaced. I am not an expert but it had been working before with out a problem. The contractor called choice and they had a little talk and I could hear the contractor listening to choice and then he left, I later received a call from choice and they said they would not cover the replacement of the unit. I called the coustomer service and talked to a very rude man would told me I must be crazy to think that they would give me a new ac when I knew when I signed up with choice that it was not working. I could not believe that some one that I paid money to would be so arrogant. The more I thought about it the more it made me mad, so I called another company to come out and check out the ac. I was ready for the same conclusion as the first contractor that wanted $6,000.00 to fix it. I was surprised when he told me that a switched was turned off,which he turned on and my ac has worked all last summer. The rep. from bge also sold me a service contract for the ac and heating system. I think choice and the contractors are in collusion with each other. I have had some appliances fix and some of the time that went well
I took a contract with this company over the phone after being told that the good deal they were offering was good for that time only and that once I got the paper work I could cancel if I wanted to. I had this charged to my credit card knowing that the law allows a cancel within 30 days. I researched the Company and learned that the BBB had given this company an “F” rating. I emailed then on Jan 14, 2010 to cancel the agreement. They telephoned that they would cancel. They sent me an email saying thy would. A week later I got the hard copy in the mail and again sent an email asking them to cancel – they emailed back that they would. It has been almost 2 months since they charged my credit card acct and I am being charged interest as they have not reversed the charges. I never carry a balance on my acct. I am now having to contact the State Insurance Commission, the credit card company, BBB and the FTC to get resolution on this matter that should never have occurred. Do not do business with these people. There is a reason the BBB rated them F.
I just had my first claim with this company and it was so easy. They helped me from start to finish. It was quick and the contractor was great. The company is highly professional and I will recommend them to friends and family.
Overall my experience with this company was great. They repaired my oven and it works as good as new. The only problem is that one time when I called I had to wait about a minute and a half on hold until someone answered. Maybe I am being to rough, but I was formerly in the army and expect everything to be perfect.
I was with another warranty company before but they got ridiculous with their out of pocket service charge so I started shopping around. Got my Choice policy back in Feb 09, just renewed as I have had no problems with Choice in 09- I only had one claim in 09 for a plumbing stoppage- a tech was assigned and came over at my earliest convenience (how nice for us!) I just recently made my second claim – my fridge was leaking water from the freeze- tech assigned immediately, I didn’t even have time to call the tech- he contacted me- how wonderful!! set up appt for the next day- he gave me a window and came over as soon as he could – assessed- explained in detail my issue and then fixed the issue- he was done in under 1 hour – now that’s great service- he was courteous and I was very satisfied with my experience. While I was waiting for the tech- Choice called to find out if all was well (wow!)and then today after the job called and sent an email for feedback (now that is what I call taking your business seriously-Kudos again!) I read some of the reviews and in my opinion it seems as if some of the people are not reading their warranty coverage until something goes wrong and then getting pissed off when something is not covered- it is all spelled out in the policy that is sent- people just need to be informed consumers when shopping for anything- don’t assume anything and read your policy – I think if Choice would maybe counsel potential customers on how home warranties work (as most people have unrealistic expectations)- they would not have some of these issues and be more happy customers.

I purchased this home warranty to cover my 20 year old home. In the 9 months since purchasing it, I have paid $1500 in plumbing repairs. Choice has denied every claim. When I inquired about exactly what plumbing systems they do cover, I was told by John the floor supervisor they cover everything in the walls, but nothing cosmetic like faucets. The plumber who diagnosed the problem told me he would have to remove shower tiles to get into the wall to replace parts. When I told John, the plumbing problem IS in the wall, he replied, “well we don’t cover everything in the walls.” This company is CROOKED!!! What scammers! I’m contacting the BBB next. Even the plumbers in the area hate this company. Choice does not cover what they say they will and they don’t cover what other warranty companies commonly cover.
Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have posted my “story” on Angie’s list and suggest everyone stay away…the company is great at taking your money but lousy at providing service.
I am very very disspointed at this. My first 2 claims were never completed. No service at all. Pathetic contractors did not even show up tp their appointment. I have made 3 calls to cancel my policy and get my money back, still no response from the management.
Overall experience was pretty good. When I first called I was told that a certain plumbing company would respond but the next day. I called the plumbers (they were supposed to have called me to set up appt.) but they said they wouldn’t drive “all the way out” to Warrenton at all. I called Choice back. The next day they found another plumber. He came out first thing in the morning and took care of the problem. He was very polite and did a good job.
claimed for diswasher and they cancelled the claim because the technician mentioned that the dishwasher has not been used for a while and they cannot repair it nor replace it with a new one.
If it doesnt cover the dishwasher then what is the purpose of having an appliance insurance.
I put 4 houses under contract with Choice Home warranty, and I am completely unsatisfied with Choice Home warranty.
Some of the specific questions I asked the Choice sales rep were about old plumbing, and old appliances, and was was told that neither would be a problem. this is a lie I was denied a plumbing claim because of old lines.
Choice has no repairmen under contract in Morgan City, so I have had to use their reimbursement system, which you need special authorization for repairs over $100.00, (including the service call fee). They have only one contact no. to handle all problems. The wait is usually ten min. to talk to a service rep,and if they have to transfer you, it will be another 10 min. Also they will not transfer you to a supervisor. Repairmen also have to go through this process, to get authorization for any amount over $100.00.
Most recently I have been denied for a washer that is out of warranty, It took me a about 2 weeks to get a repairman to come out, because the 1st repairman I called said they would look into the matter,and call me back, but never did. When I had a 2nd repairman finally come out, they diagnosed the problem, and gave me an estimate of $680.00 Choice home warranty would not authorize the repair, and the Choice service tech told me they would replace the washer. When I called Choice back to find out about replacing the washer,I was told that the claim was under review, and Choice had contacted a repairman to give a 2nd opinion, that repairman was the 1st I had contacted, who never returned my call. After another week that repairman contacted me, and told me he could not work on my brand of washer. I immediately called Choice, and was informed that the claim was under review again, because someone had determined that he problem had to be a manufacturers defect, (how this was determined I have no idea). I was so mad, I told the Choice rep We should end this call before I start cussing, and I wanted someone in authority to call me back.
After 15 mins. I was calmed down, and called Choice back. This time I was informed that the claim was already denied, because of the manufacturers defect determination
I have still not talked to a supervisor or figured out who determined the problem was a manufacturers defect. My experience is that Choice Home Warranty Lied to me at purchase of warranty, and went out of their way to deny 3 of my legitimate claims, (2 are documented here). Also their contact,and claim handling system is terrible. I have not found any way to contact supervisors, review my claims, or dispute denials.
The company assigned promptly scheduled an appointment the next business day an a technician arrived ahead of schedule and fixed the problem. Very happy with the results this far.
Choice Home Warranty has an ‘F’ rating on the BBB.org website. In my experience, they deserve it. This company exists only to take your money. This was my experience:
I called them regarding a plumbing leak. They called a contractor who was suppose to call me but never did. Then, to their credit, they followed up with me and then called another contractor. No explanation as to why the original contractor didn’t call. Then, I received a call from the other plumber who I met with. He said that he would come back out once he gets approval from Choice Home Warranty. I didn’t hear anything for about three to five days. So I called the plumber. He said that he sent them the quote but they didn’t approve it. No one bothered to call me. So I call the company and asked what was going on and the rep. said that she would check on it and get back with me. I didn’t receive a call back. So I called again and told spoke with another rep. This time I explained that the leak was STILL leaking… At this point, I explained to the rep.- who was giving a me a song and dance about why I hadn’t heard anything- that I was NOT going to be patient any longer and that they’d better call that plumber and approve his price right now! And then they did. All of this ended up taking at least a week. I think it was longer. Then the plumber disappears for three for four days. No call. No nothing. I called him directly several times. Then I called Choice and complained. I spoke with a lady there who apologised and assured me that she would deal with it and call me back. There was no call back. Eventually I get a call from the plumber that he had fallen and gone to the hospital but was okay now and could come in a few days or so. When he came he offered to re-caulk a portion of the caulk around my tub if I would go and get it from the store. I went and got it and after he’d finished and left, I realized that he kept the caulk. It was just the icing on the cake.
I never had a follow-up from Choice. Not once in this hole affair. Not even after the service ticket was completed to see if I was satisfied. Please do not use this company and spread the word.
I just had my washing machine fixed by Home Choice Warranty. I called in my claim and they assigned me to a repairman on the spot. The person that showed up to my home was right on time, he was also very nice and knowledgable. Great experience and very happy with the services.
I called at 9am to report that my dryer was not working. Choice sent a technician in 30 minutes. They diagnosed my dryer, Choice authorized the repair and it was fixed in an hour. This was the fastest service I have ever had.
I love Choice Home Warranty
I was very pleased with the services I recently received from Choice Home Warranty. It was quick and professional, no aggrivation at all. I have had other warranties and can say Choice is the best so far for me.
I’m been with CHW for almost a year now and I’m very happy with the service. I had two claims that were both covered no questions asked. The techs were great too. They were nice enough to even take their shoes off before entering my home. Highly recommended.
My experience with them was really good. I submitted my claim at night time since it wasn’t an emergency and I got a response/assigned contractor the next morning. The first contractor told me that he didn’t work with Choice anymore so I contacted their customer service and they assigned me a new person right away. I called them at 9:00 AM and they were done with the job by 1:00pm. The plumber that came was in training, but both him and his trainer figured out the problem with the plumbing right away. I’m actually happy I bought the warranty.
I have called them several times regarding the leak from my kitchen Faucet. They have assigned the service contractor and told me they do not cover Faucet, I have asked If I pay for Faucet do they cover the instalation? No, I have to pay the service fee and then they tell me not covered Waste of Money, They just cover anything up to $200.00 according to Service contractor. They are worthless, most Major repair they don’t cover, so many catch in their term and condition, READ IT!!!! I Got the higest warranty and so far on 2 occation they failed.
Absolutely horrendous service. I received 4 different venders to call due to a furnace repair in MN when it was in the 30′s at night and there were 2 infants living in the house. 2 of the 4 venders never have worked with Choice and didn’t know how Choice got their numbers. 42 hours later we finally get a response from the third vendor and they said they wouldn’t fix it unless I paid up front b/c Choice owes them invoices from 4 months ago. Of course this was on a Saturday and no one from Choice could authorize it on the weekend, so I paid $242.77 for the ignitor switch repair. I called Monday morning and got the runaround. They finally sent me a claim reimbursement form to fill out. I followed up 1 week later and they said they never received it. I emailed and faxed it again and waited for a confirmation. I received it. Finally I called again to ask the status and they said my reimbused check for $155 would be sent out in one month. I asked why the entire amount minus the service call wasn’t reimbursed and they said I was lucky b/c it was not an authorized repair and they are giving me $100 dollars for good faith! Ridiculous. I have used AHS before and never had this issue. I was trying to save $$ on a warranty and read review about Choice and decided to go with them. I can’t wait until my warranty expires. It was the worst Customer service I have ever been through. Beware if they are not paying their vendors, they will not pay most of the claims!!!
I had an AWESOME experience with Choice Home Warranty. I had a claim for my AC yesterday and I was assigned to a technician on the spot. Dan the tech was really nice and helpful and fixed the unit in less than an hr.
Customer service was also great! Erika was so sweet and polite and made my experience that much more enjoyable.
Over the past serveral yrs Ive had many home warranty companies. CHW is by far the most reliable company Ive ever dealt with. I just completed my 3rd claim with Choice and their service is beyond compare. The claim approval was done over the the phone on the first call, unlike many other companies that keep you on hold and make you jump thru hoops. I love Choice Home Warranty!
The is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I called two weeks ago and placed a claim for my garage door opener. After several days, the technician finally showed up and determined my opener needed replacing. He called Choice for approval to get an answering service with the message that they are closed due to system updates. Mind you this was in the middle of the week, so he left without fixing my opener. The tech and myself continued to call for several days until they finally re-opened. Choice did not bother to call me I had to call them only to tell me that someone for the approval deptment would be giving me a call. Later that day I did receive a call with the male stating that they would send me a check for $220 for the repair. I told him that it would not cover what I was quoted, which was $389. He then basically said to bad that is all we will cover. They expected that someone would come to my home and install a new opener for $220. I was so upset I said I may cancel and he says “well I can handle that” so I hung up on him. Needless to say my account was not canceled and my account was debited three days later for my monthly charge. I had to end up paying the $389 out of pocket plus the service fee. So I told my husband we got screwed but at least we will get the $220. So yesterday I called Choice to get some info on the check to find out they were again closed for system updates. Today a week later I get someone who transfers me to accounts payable. She proceeds to tell me that they did not send the check since I said I may cancel. She said “we are not in the business of paying for customers who are going to cancel”. It doesn’t matter that I have paid them every month and that they have continued to charge me without paying their obligations. For me to get may check, I would have to sign a reimbusement form to cover them if I should cancel. When I ask for a manager, I got hung up on. She was rude as was the male that I spoke to. I continued to call to get the so called managers voice mail. The voice mail didn’t even have a name attached to it. In my opinion, this place is located is someones back yard and they are only into ripping people off. Stay away.
My GE microwave touchpad failed in Oct09 and after 6 months I finally canceled my policy with choice home warranty. Each time I contacted them they told me that the part was on back order. I ordered the part myself and installed it within a week. Today I was contacted by the service technical that they sent out and he wanted my to pay him $60 because he couldn’t collect from Choice. Please don’t by into the Internet marketing. They are horrible in all respects.
I had many home warranty companies before and CHW is by far the most reliable company I have ever dealt with. I just completed my 1st claim with CHW and their service is very good.
I was told by one of their telephone salesmen that I would have a month to review the details of the service agreement (which by the way are not on their web site!) and that if I didn’t like it….I could cancel without any charges and a full refund would be given. I reviewed the policy which states for example that if your refrigerator can’t be fixed they will replace it but they will not guatantee that the color, model, or size of the replacement fridge! So I called them to cancel my policies within the 30 day perion and two weeks before the policies were even supposed to start and now 6 months later I’m still fighting with them to refund my money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for home warranty insurance.
I think most of the positive reviews are made by CHW’s employees.
When I bought the house, I saw the good review and request the seller to buy home warranty from CHW, it’s a HUGE mistake.
I had made 2 claims:
First one is the problem gas pipe. They keep delaying the claim while the gas company shut our gas in very cold days. And all the contractors they told me to call dont wanna work with them because they had problem getting paid. Then I had to hire a contractor to fix the problem. CHW denied reimbursement because the fix need to be done by their contractors.
Second claim is the garage door opener broken, the unit need to be replaced, they denied paying for it.
So angry I call in to cancel the policy hopefully get back some my remaining 10 months contract cost. They said that I can only cancel within 1st 30 days.
Beware!!! This company is deceitful and will not honor their promises!!!!
Below is a copy of the email correspondence I’ve had with the “customer service manager” Troy McDermott.
“When your salesman called me last week, he gave me a great offer and told me not to worry “you can review the policy when it comes it the mail and cancel within 30 days”. He NEVER mentioned any cancellation fees. He also told not to bother looking at the “SAMPLE” contract online, that mine would be “totally different”. I told him was just gathering info and wanted to do my homework first, but he gave me the hard sell and reiterated that I could cancel in 30 days after reviewing the policy (again, NO mention of cancellation fees).
I am furious that I am now being told that I have to pay $50 to cancel. I feel that I have been deceived. I am using this warranty on my home, which will become a rental property in March. I expected it to cover much more. When I say there are too many exclusions, I am referring to things like the refrigerator not covering the water lines, ice makers or leaks of any kind. Same with the water heater and air conditioner. water leaks, drain line stoppages. All of these things are covered by the American Home Shield Warranty, which is who I should have gone with. I have a list a page long of things you don’t cover that AHS does.

Guess what- the refund NEVER came!!! I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company, but only got a potion of the money back because somewhere in the fine print of the contract that I was told not to read- and never signed- it says there will be a $50 cancellation fee.

overall very bad experience with this company. they lied from the 1st phone conversation that i had with the sales person ,after few times e-mail game with thier sales associate , finally asked them to e-mail me a copy of the coverage to know what is cover and what is not. my concern was the pool unit if is coverd or not, he said absolutly is coverd and nothing to br worried . paid over the phone by c.card and got the policy coverage by mail after a week. the 1st thing i noticed was no COVERAGE ON POOL UNIT. so send an e-mail to the sale rep, few times. finally got a e-mail back that was a misnuderestanding and will send you the new one. which i got after few days. about few days ago i notice that some problem with the pumb uint that was licks on one of them. call the 800 #s, there was a youn laidy answer the phone very careless and not happy with her work,got my name and policy # , and she said some one will contact me , and hang up the phone.the following day i had phone call from the CHW , ASKED ME FEW QUESTIONS AND GAVE ME A CLAIM #.two days latter i had a tech, by my house and ck the pool unit ,got in the phone with CHW for few minutes and toled me the bad news ih that I CHOSE A BAD COMPANY for home warranty.I asked him why ? he said this is the worst amoung the worst, they are cheating people and its hard to get confirmation on a claim, got on the phone with the CHW REP, AS USUAL VOICE MAIL. today finaly had a phone call from the CHW REP, (SUPERVISOR), HAD NO PERSONALITIES AT ALL.this is how he handle the problem…NOT HAPPY CANCLE YOU POLICY! I was an AHS customer for several years and switched to Choice Home Warranty last December 2009. 3 months later the performance of one of my heat pumps went down and I submitted a claim with CHW.
Only then I got to see what they are about:
It took them several days to send a contractor out. The contractor came looked at the heat pump and said it had a leak and he was going to contact CHW and to determine the course of action.
It took couple more days and we didn’t hear back. When we called, we were told that they consider it a pre-existing condition and it was not covered.
I called back and demanded to talk to a manager/supervisor.
After a lengthy discussion, I was patched througha man who said his name was Patrick, who was totally un-professional.
He said from the get go: “Sir, you signed up with CHW, and the first day you needed your AC, you submitted a claim. This is a pre-existing condition and it is not covered.” implying that I had lied to them.
I told him that first of all, my unit is a heat pump and not an AC.
Secondly, it has been running perfectly well all winter long.
He wasn’t impressed. He kept restating that my AC had a leak and the Freon had drained long before I signed up with Choice Home Warranty.
Today (April 27th), I called them to cancel my contracts (I have two properties) and all they did was telling me that they will get back to me”.
I will be looking for people who are interested in filing/joining a Class Action Suit against Choice Home Warranty which I hope will protect others.
I am one of their contractors. I applied with them almost 2 years ago and got a service work order in April 2010. I submitted the invoice for the repair and now after repreated phone calls to them and emails to [email protected] I am getting no response to why I haven’t been paid the $ 109.25
Am I pleased with Choice Home Warranty? Not yet. I just want to be paid for the services I provided for them.
I was told they hadn’t received my application and that the check was issued but not mailed because of no application on file. I have just printed the application at my local public library and will mail it immediately.

Our business, Effingham Heating & Air did some contractor work for Choice Home Warranty in January 2010. All of the work orders and authorization numbers were approved prior to any services performed. We were told to complete the work and then fax our invoices along with their paperwork to the provided fax number, which we did the day after the work was completed (January 18th). All three invoices had our address and phone numbers printed very clearly on the top.
In late February I called to check the status of payment and were told that the check was mailed on February 22nd, however it was mailed to our street address in a DIFFERENT town! I informed them of THEIR error and asked to speak to the person who could correct it and was told she would be in the next day. I was told she would call me. She never did. I called on April 7th to again check the payment status, and loooong story short, “Abbie” told me in a very nasty way that since the check did not come back to them in the mail (from a fictitious address; I asked Abbie where they got it from and she said their “computer locator” ???)that I would have to wait 90 days from the date they cut the first check for them to cut another one. I told her that was not acceptable and asked to speak to her supervisor and she immediately said he wasn’t available. I asked her how did she know w/o asking him and she told me he never is available! I demanded to speak to him and she said, quote, “Yes, ma’am, any more orders?” I could not believe the way this company was treating me, that is until after the phone call was over and I went online and typed their name in. A flood of stories just like mine popped up.
Anyway, here it is April 30, 2010 and no payment yet. I don’t expect any will come if I go by some of the other contractor’s posts. However, I’m going to call again today and then I’m going to contact the N.J. Attorney General’s Office to see what sort of claim/suit I can file there. This company is a complete scam and its’ employees and rude con artists.
I’was an appliance service provider for chioce home warranty of america untill they stop paying for my services this was from july of 2009 till jan 2010 they owe owr company a total of over 1’800.00 and they do not have a state license to work with nevada residents,i just posted a claim with the fbi for internet fraud ,a claim at the Nj. attorney general and also i will call chanell 13 locally to expose their fraudalent kind of bussines ,their unprofessional excuses are :”the check has been mailed ”
“soory but we did not received the invoces for those services ,will you re-send those again please?” and its been like that since nov 2009 it’s may,04 2010 and nothing yet already e-mailed from the president of the company down to the janitor. and got no response..if you are a service provider be aware this company does not pay for services and are not authorized by the state of nevada to do bussines ,do not be a victim like me.

Our complaint is a repeat…repeat…repeat of all the complaints listed here. Legit contract, paid for months, first claim ever…needs repair…requested records…provided it to them…even phone numbers of our maintenance company so they could ask any questions they want…stories changing all the time…lies told…information made up…degrading comments made by Michael Scott…accused us as well as our maintenence contractor of fraud, based on nothing but lies he made up…threatened us legally…same, same, same, ditto, ditto, ditto.
In reading all other comments I found one from the president of CHW himself. Here is what it says:

Soooo…before posting this comment I certainly went to that blog site to attempt to deal directly with Mr. Moss. No shock to find that all comment sections are disabled. Went to the Facebook page…no commenting available there either!! So surprised. Tried the email address…rejected…shocker. We have sent everything by fax. We will be pursuing delivering all of this by certified delivery in person to Mr. Moss and his company as well. Based on all of this we will pursue through the BBB as well.

I have been going round and round with this company regarding my air conditioning unit since July of 09. I was out of about $175 last year to have my unit serviced…about 31 days later it was not cooling again..hence..now I have a leak..but of course Choice doesn’t pay for the leak detection test (225)..a gentlman even had the nerve to call me last year in October and told me since it was the end of the season to just wait till the summer! Well, summer is right around the corner..so after another service call fee (45) and another (125) that Choice wouldn’t cover…a new company found the same issue…a leak in my a-coil…now all of the sudden it’s a pre-existing condition and I need to fax over maintenance records. I will be contacting the Attorney General’s office in New Jersey to file a formal complaint…and NO…I will not be renewing this contract..even though Brad Collins was so kind to offer me a free service call upon renewal! WOW…a whopping $45 and I give this bogus company another 355….NOT! BEWARE…BEWARE…BEWARE….

okay, so I am giving it a try. Read policies very carefully, before you sign your contract. The contract
can be invalidated at any time during 1 year service,
with pro-rated refund. WATCH OUT.
I purchased a home warranty form Choice based on good reviews, 1 month and 10 days after I did my washer machine died in mid cycle. I told my wife to not worry about it because we had insurance, I emptied out the wet clothes and I contacted Choice that Wednesday. They said a technician would call me by the end of the day…he did not. So I called him and they scheduled to come out two days later at noon on Friday. Not the best service but whatever. My wife took the day off from work and waited for the tech, at 12:45 (45 minutes after he was supposed to be there) I received a voicemail from the tech saying he wasn’t going to make it can he come by Saturday? I asked him to come by later that night since we were going on 3 days with no washer and a pile of dirty laundry. He did finally show up 3 hours and two phone calls after he said he would. He tore the machine apart and said the transmission was shot and would need to be replaced. 4 days later and multiple phone calls and emails to both the tech and Choice to see the status of my claim I finally get an answer. “NO we will not fix it because it was pre-existing.” I said no it wasn’t, we washed clothes in it every other day for the 1 month and 10 days since I signed up with you. The claims manager said NO again because motors wear out over time not all at once therefore it is a pre-existing condition. I challenged and said I washed clothes in that machine everyday for the last 2 ½ years and had no problems and by your rational you could deny any claim that isn’t electrical because they break-down over time, he agreed and said they could.
That means if your condenser motor on your AC goes out, it is pre-existing. If your refrigerator motor burns out, it is pre-existing, if the blower on your heater goes out, pre-existing etc. etc. Therefore the only logical conclusion is they are a scam because they can deny almost any claim unless you buy new construction so do not buy this worthless product! Finally I asked for a refund and will get my $350 – 2months back; which is more than what they would have paid to buy me a new washer ~$300 and they lose a customer. Not only are they dishonest they are dumb. I don’t know about the other companies but this one is a Scam!
Terrible service….I cant say much more than all the reviews above. This company seems to pride itself on not actiing the best interests of its customers and making coverage decisions based on incorrect information.
They responded in a very timely manner and identified and fixed the problem quickly. I was very happy with their service.

Wow the service was very fast! Submitted my claim for the pool pump online on a Saturday night and was notified on Monday morning my cliam had been assinged to a pool company. I was called that day, they came out the next day and the new pump was installed on a Thrusday. I didn’t have to do a thing. Great job, thank you.
I called Choice Home Warranty for my first covered claim, six months into my contract. I had two toilet issues and a kitchen drain issue (all plumbing). I was disappointed to learn that although only one plumber was coming, I would have to pay two service fees because the toilets were one system and the kitchen sink another. Even the plumber they sent couldn’t understand why I had to pay two fees; they said they work with other companies and this is odd. But the rest of the work was all covered; they didn’t give me any grief over the work or the cost. The tech came out the same day I called and he was polite and seemed knowledgeable enough. I gave the review a 3 because of the double fee. The girl on the phone was reasonably pleasant and handled my claim in a professional manner.
I had another home warranty, with another company. It took forever for them to come out on a service call. And then when they did, they made excuses up for not being able to repair items. First was my stove it took 5 repair people and $250.00 worth of service calls to get my oven fixed. So I dropped them. Choice has been very good. I have referred them to alot of my friends. Thank you

The first call was for a inoperable ice maker which they repiared in a timely fashion and the appliance repair contractor was excellent.
The second call was for a broken heat selector switch on our dyer. The switch was frozen and when I wnet ot select another heat temperature, the knob broke off. Choice Home Waraanty would not replace the faulty switch because they said I broke the knob off, even though the swirth was faulty.
I am in the process of contacting the state attorney general and the better business bureau. It appears that CHW in not a very reputable company after reading the many complaints on this site.
We are a small husband and wife repair business we did jobs from nov 09-jan 10 still havent recieved payment theres no one t talk to u get transfered to voice mails. they girls are very nasty. They owe us over $700 and there customers are so happy with the work and not a clue that we have still not been paid for the work. I would love to send my husband to the cutomers houses to remove the parts!!!!!
Contractors and service providers beware!! Home Choice does not pay its contractors! To collect as we have, we suggest small claims court against all customers Home Choice has not paid for. Also, post this warning in all the part house you frequent.
Looked into changing to new coverage/company to save some money before our current HW company premium was due in one month. CHW sales rep “gave us a good deal”. We clearly asked all questions, what was covered, etc. Rep,”Kevin Michaels”, (an alias) assured us that after he sent out the contract, we would have 30 days to cancel and premium would be returned.We read contract. Not happy. Too many omissions, falsehoods. At no time did he say that $50.00 would be kept from our cancellation of full year refund, that we paid up-front one month in advance! Only when we received the mailed contract did we discover it.Within 48 hours of receiving mailed contract we tried to cancel. All calls to company were handled badly and fraudedly by them. No one “was in”, “manager would call back”,etc. All their voices were the same person, just with a different actors’ names.No matter how savvy and prepared we were, we have been scammed and conned. We will file a complaint to the necessary agencies and dispute with our credit card company. Wish we had read this website first! If we can save just ONE potential customer of CHW from our misfortune, it will be good.
This was my first occassion to use CHW. I submitted a claim for AC repair and the claim was assigned to a local company within 1 hour. I then researched the AC company that had been assigned my job and was not happy with the reviews the AC company had received. I contacted CHW to request a different company; they replied immediately and selected another AC company (America’s Air) and he made an appt. with me for the very next morning. I am very happy with Choice Home Warranty and America’s Air.
I switched two home warranties from AHS in July, 2009 to Choice Home warranty. I called in on 5/9/2010 (Mother’s Day) to report that I was having a problem with a burner on my range top. It is a glass top range and the burner would not shut off. I was assigned a claim number the name and phone number of a service provider. I called and the recording gave me the hours of service for the provider. On 5/10/2010 at 8:13AM I spoke with the technician and was scheduled for service on the same day. The technician called to let me know that he was running a little late due to traffic. The repair was done quickly and professionally. This technician left the burned out parts with me. This is the first company that left the parts with me. I was very satisfied with the way this claim was handled.
So far have used them 2 times. First time was not very satisfied. Took way too long to get someone to fix my heating. Found out they email the compies not call them. It took 3 days to get someone out. The last time I told them I was off work needed someone there that day! They did call until they found someone to come that day.

Overall the service was great. A little history: I had to change warranty companies due to some unforeseen issue with my existing company no longer being insured in IL. One of the contractors recommended Choice Home Warranty over the the other company recommended by our former plan. After reviewing the companies, I saw that Choice also offered more options that suited my needs. Now I had several issues with my former company up to and including sending out a technician that did zero work but still wanted his copay. I was always told that was not to happen if the work was not done. In fact, a different technician from a different provider was sent out. The former company is still trying to collect the copay and won’t go away. At this point in time, I have used Choice twice. The 1st time I used the online option to open a claim and emailed the emergency email – never got a response and no ticket was opened – we were without air conditioning over the weekend in the summer – that was not cool…pardon the pun, but did not bode well for the company. When it was fixed, all was fine. Now this time I called in to open my ticket. The technician – a plumber, indicated he never got an email from Choice, but that I had all the information he needed. My sump pump was not working and needed to be replaced. He agreed it needed to be replaced, then started to see if he could “jerry-rig” the unit and when realizing the unit was completely non-functioning, he replaced it. Our biggest concern is that the plumber raised the water level of our battery back-up – now we are watching it like hawks given the amount of rain lately. My husband was concerned that the check for the copay was to be written to this man individually versus a company – he said he is a small one man operation. I am sure a canceled check can prove payment. In any event, our issue was resolved within 2 hours of calling Choice which is AWESOME. When I signed up with Choice, they ran a special just a day after I signed up, their sales team honored the special and I got an even better deal on my warranty. So far so good…Choice has done right by me as a customer! My ratings are not all 5′s because overall, there is a long hold time to get to someone, the online option and emergency email is not answered based on prior experience and as far as the technician is concerned, we just worry about the change in the battery backup water level and the fact that he wanted to “jerry-rig” a non-functioning pump – which could have turned into a disaster and another visit. But again, all turned out well, hence the 4 rating!

I purchased my home last year along with a CHW policy. According to the home inspection, all appliances were in good condition, some of which were still under the manufacturer’s warranty. Shortly thereafter, I began to have problems with my hot water heater and called CHW to report the problem. I found them to be quite responsive and professional. However, although the plumbers that were sent were quite nice, in this particular area of the nation, I honestly could not recommend any of the ones that were sent to service my hot water heater. Additionally, because they either did not follow the CHW procedure to get authorization to repair the heater after the diagnosing the problem, and because they replaced the parts on their own using the wrong ones, I continued to have problems, not only with the hot water heater, but with them coming after me for payment. When I reported this to CHW, they were quick to take care of the problem. So, in general, my experience with CHW has always been excellent, but my experience with the technicians has not.

I am in my first year with Choice Home Warranty and so far I am pleased with their warranty program. Everyone one at Choice seems to be helpful and courteous. The contractors I have had so far are very professional and had done a good job.
The water heater in one of our rental houses began leaking on the evening of May 10th. The claim was called in that same evening and a plumbing company responded by 10:30 the next morning. They diagnosed the problem, called Choice with the information and were given the approval to replace the unit. By 2:00 PM the job was complete. That’s what customer service is all about. Excellent job by Choice and the plumbing company they chose.
It was a quick turn-around and as well got fantastic services.
The CHW plumber who came to my condo to repair a pipe leek, was very pleasant. His work was very efficient and he was very helpful in answering all my questions. This is my first claim with CHW and I can already say they are much more professional than the last company I used.
I have Choice Home Warranty (CHW) for my home since 5/13/2009 and the warranty expires 03/13/2010 from the contract document they sent me. I had “Perfect Temperature Air Conditioning and Heating LLC” repair the air conditioning at my house on 7/1/2009. They received authorization from CHW to go ahead and do the repairs. Perfect Temperature made the repairs and billed CHW for the remainder of the service call as per authorization. CHW has not paid them as of 5/18/2010 (today). Perfect temperature sent the invoice to a collection agency to get their money and the collection agency called me to pay the remainder of the service charge. I called CHW this morning and spoke to a not very friendly customer associate (Melanie) to hear that my contract had expired and she can not talk to me about anything that had happened in the past and a manager will call me back. She couldn’t transfer the call to a manager, nor help me even though I insisted that my contract had not expired and will not until 06/13/2010. She said her ‘system’ shows the contract expired on 05/13/2010 and the only way they can help is having a manager call me back. I am waiting for someone from CHW to call me and resolve this issue. I have spent more than a day calling different people (perfect temperature, the collection agency, chw, looking through my contracts, invoices and payments from last year etc). This is not the first time I am wasting my time after signing up with CHW to get things taken care of. They have extremely poor customer support and do not treat their customers well.

I had a very very bad experience with this scam company. I purchased the homwarantty and after 6 months Our A/C start malfunctioning. I contat to choice home Warantty for repair, afeter calling 6 times they sent some company to diagonose the problem and they charge us the $45. after 2 days instead of repair they sent another company for 2nd opinion and then after 2 days they call and Ask for maintaince record for AC in the past days, as they diagonose that this problem is due to lack of maintainence, which was not correct as we had done maintaience regularly. then I sent the maintainence record and now 6 days has been passed they keep on saying when file will updated, then they we will look at the claim. I am going to file a case against them also will report to BBB.

I’m almost a year with my contract with CHW. I have my rental home covered just in case something breaks down. Last week when the tenants called and said the washer broke down, I immediately called CHW to claim the washer. Within an hour, I was able to get an appointment for the next day to have the washer looked at. Unfortunately the following day was a Friday and the technician said usually CHW will not review the fix until Monday and he had to get an approval from CHW for the fix and install the parts. To make a long story short, my claim was fixed within 5 days after my initial call. I guess that was not bad although they advertise that they are available 7 days a week. I’m just wondering what happens if that was an AC unit that broke and it was a Friday afternoon. That means the tenants has to wait two days to get it looked at. During the summer months here in Arizona, that would be terrible.
Other than that, I’m pleased with CHW service. Throughout the claim, I get calls from them to check the status of my claim. I did not give them a 5 for overall rating because of the weekend availability.
When I made the call to Choice Home Warranty-the Choice representative was very helpful and courteous. I got the service repair people out right away and got the problem with the AC unit repaired very promptly. It was an easy experience. Everyone was very professional, prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable.

My first time using this home warranity plan, i must say was not an enjoyable experience.I had to contact you all back about getting an appointment from the vendor and also call the vendor myself to make my own appointment, then after the fact you all called me and ask me when was my appointment day.I expressed to the yuong lady whom called me that no one had made my appointment and that i did it myself.After no one could contact the vendor, another call was placed to me, then telling me to find my own vendor,for you all could not contact the vendor,I then again had to handle the situation my self. I am not use to a company being so disorganized,especially when i have paid my money to have professional services.I pray nothing else happens and I have to go thurough this experience again.I hope after this comment more training will be done to ensure the customers that they don’t have to worry about their warranty plan.
This morning i woke up with no hot water which is a nightmare for me because i have a wife, 2 kids and my elderly mother inlaw living with us. I called choice right away to make my claim, spoke to a very helpful rep who immediatley put in my claim and even conferenced the technician in to help me set up an appointment. He came out within an hour and a half, realized the water heater would need to be replaced, got it ok’d by choice and replaced it. I am SO happy i made the right decision to switch over to this company and i will be reffering all of my friends and family over. Thanks Choice Home Warranty!!
A/C went out over a weekend so an online service order was input. On Monday morning, an email response was sent with a service order number and contact info for a technician. The technician was efficient, informative and effective. I was up and running the following day. He had to order another part which required another visit but it worked out ok. Between Choice Home Warranty and Perfect Temp HVAC’s authorized CHW service technician this was a very good experience with minimal issue.
I am writing to complain and report the poor customer service we received today from CHW and “Sam Patel.” Sam is the most unprofessional, rude, and incompetent person I have every spoke to in my life. He stated “I am doing you a favor” just talking to me about my concerns. He patronized me and stated, “there are no dishwasher emergencies” and interrupted me explaining my concerns about my vendor and how we got the run around today. I do not know anything about appliances or if the dishwasher pipe is leaking or if the pipe could explode. He spent 1 minute reading the policy that dishwashers are not emergencies (apparently he could determine this over the phone). He raised his voice and yelled into the phone that “YOU ARE BEING DIFFICULT!” and I told him I have a right to ask questions about my claim and that I was not satisfied with his service. I also mentioned to him that both my husband and I are physicians and we missed a whole day of work today waiting for the vendor to call. He dismissed my plea and stated he gets customer complaints all the time that “people are unreasonable and just ask me for a new refrigerator” and I told him I was not asking for any new appliances but wanted the service I requested 24hours ago and for him to authorize the overtime and he said he would not. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he stated there was no other person to discuss my claim or who could help me. I am very disappointed in CHW’s customer service, in particular Sam Patel. This was unable to be cordially resolved through CHW despite several complaints and the NJ authorities are aware of this issue.
DO NOT PURCHASE anything from Choice Home Warranty My A/C went out during a period where I was SUPPOSED to be covered by them. They did everything in their power to not honor the claim. Everything! They lied, threatened me with police action and ultimately just flat out denied the claim. They are crooks with no professional morals and ethics.
Choice handled my claim professionally efficiently and with practically no sweat off my back. I called them for my air conditioner they got a company out here right away. The technician fixed my problem after a short verification call to choice home. I have been with a few different home warranty companies but none as professional, timely and efficient as choice home warranty. I will definitely be with them for years to come.
If you are approached by this company for a home warranty… RUN AND HIDE!!! The only reason that I give CHW a 1 is because there is not a lower rating available. This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I had an A/C issue similar to many of the reviews written. CHW went out of their way to deny my claim. Their contract stipulates that the system must be maintained, which we have done according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. The contract says nothing about a requirement to keep documentation. When the system failed, CHW denied the claim because we could not produce documentation. I filed a complaint with BBB and wish I had checked them out before I purchased the contract. I will never make that mistake again. This is the worst company ever!
This Company is BAD!!!! Do not use. Changed my warranty without notifiying me and will not cover the item even though my first contract I paid for covered it. Don’t waste your $$$$. when I produced my first contract they said it was a typo on thier part and to tell a lawyer we are not covering it.

well this was my 1st time using the warranty and i did not know what to expect? I made the initial call to put in my clam and the CHW customer service rep was kind and immediately help me in finding someone close to me make the necessary repairs. I was then contacted by the the company that the claim was sent to come out and fix my oven. he was courteous and most important was willing to work around my hectic schedule. he showed up on time and went right to work and within 45 min replaced my ignitor switch with a new one and the rest is history i now have an oven that is working again. all in all I had a very pleasant experience.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !!!!!!! I STARTED WITH THEM BACK IN APRIL OF 2010 AND AROUND MAY/JUNE I HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY UPSTAIRS A/C UNIT. I SAID I SHOULD CANCEL MY COVERAGE IF THIS IS HOW I WOULD BE TREATED AND THE GENTLEMAN SAID FINE AND HUNG UP … I RECEIVED AN EMAIL SHORTLY AFTER THAT STATING MY POLICY WAS CANCELLED ! I CALLED BACK IN TO HAVE THEM LISTEN TO THE RECORDED MESSAGE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN 24 – 48 HOURS. STILL TO THIS DAY NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN !!!! SCAMMERS !!!!! I have been trying to cancel my policy with them due to such a crapy service and claim process. I paid them 400.00 for new policy in March 15. Basically I paid them for nothing and top of that they are charging me for early cancellation. It was a very good educational experience dealing with them. I will be very care full if someone who is looking for to buy a new home warranty policy with them especially. I would never recommend it to anyone forget my family and friends.
Although the service provider was very busy and they took a little longer to arrive than I had hoped, overall my experience with them has been good. Also the time I had to wait on hold before someone from the Choice Home Warranty could give the number of the local service provider seemed a little long, but not unbearable. The problem I had was minor, so the real test will come if I have major problem. Overall I my first experience has been good.

The service company called me within 10 mintues of my call to Choice. They were on time and did a great job with my AC unit.
I purchased a warranty from this company and have had three claims with them. One of them was never serviced by a technician, so i finally gave up. The other two I had to place multiple calls before I was able to get a technician. Finally when a technician came out, both times the claim was denied. Prior to Choice Home Warranty, I had a policy with Fidelity Home warranty that my agent purchased for me. They were much easier to get a long with, and actually provided a service. If you are going to spend money on a home warranty, don’t waste the money on Choice, you will get nothing for your money.
On our first call into CHW I noticed all of our contact info and address info was incorrect. I requested for it to be changed and it was still not changed after the 3rd call into the company.
On our first call in, the customer service we received was about a 1 and on follow-up calls to ensure my service provider was receiving the work order, we were again, treated poorly. The service provided NEVER received the proper work order and we had to send them our copy.
Our last experience was a bit better, but our account information is STILL incorrect. Not sure why it is so difficult to input a correct address and name.
The service provides who have come to our house have been fanstatic and that has been a great positve!!!
The first company went to house without calling – nobody home. The second company offered a diagnosis based on percentage. The third company, Extreme Mechanical, methodically tested/eliminated until the leak was found. Repaired the leak, added freon. Now the AC works.
I picture the customer service reps in an office surrounded by a big sign that say “Deny! Deny! Deny!” I’ve spoken to the supervisor a number of times and the only line he knows how to say is “this is in accordance with our policy”…They will deny everything…thumbs way down.
I just purchased the home warranty about 2 months ago.
This weekend my dishwasher stopped working. I could hear the motor running, but no water was coming in. I called CHW on Sunday. They lady immediately gave me a claim number and the name of the service company that would be coming out.
I called them on monday to schedule the appoitment when they told me that they didn’t service dishwashers. I called CHW back and the lady was very courteous, offered her apologies and sounded surprised that the company they referred had said that, she immediately gave me the number of another company. M and M appliance. They called me within the hour and set up an appointment for tuesday. The gentlemen were on time and had the problem diagnosed within about 45 min. They had to check back with CHW and get an approval and order a part. They called the next day to say they got the approval and made an appointment for thursday to come fix it. They were on time and fixed it within 30 minutes. A rep from CHW called twice over the days to check that everything was ok and to notify me that the claim had been approved. Overall I was extremely satisfied with my first experience. Thanks Choice!
Company does not have any intention on paying for any repairs. You will most likely be told that you did not maintain your equipment or wait hours for some from Choice Home Warranty to make a decision which is unacceptable.
Wow. I don’t even know where to start… let’s just say, buyer beware, be VERY AWARE. I literally got NO service after a week of my initial claim. When I finally tried to get resolution via an escallation, I received false promises. I STRONGLY suggest you look at another home warranty service. They will also charge you a fee if you want to cancel your contract. Threaten to go the the BBB… they laugh and tell you it doesn’t matter. Again, BEWARE!!!
I woke up one morning and had no electric. I called Choice Warranty. I had a great experience from both the warranty company and the service vendor. Some of the service vender could have shown a litle more professionalism. I have recommend Choice Home Warranty to all my friends and family.

i am a plumbing contractor who recieved a work order in april for a bad garbage disposal. i went to the home & determined it needed replacing.i called choice for authorization and got a authorization no.i promptly that day faxed them a copy of the service request signed by the homeowner which is choice’s policy and a copy of the invoice. after 30 days i still had not received a check in the mail, so i called and spoke to viki,when i asked for her last name she told me she didnt have to give it to me. i asked about this particular w.o. and she said it was processed for payment, but there was a problem. i needed to fill out an application because it was a nem policy as of april 1. so after sending them all the documentation{for the 2nd time}i still did not receive a check,this time when i talked to miss viki who i suspect is the one and only accounts payable employee she told me they never received the invoice so i faxed several times in a row ,she blocked the 3rd one. i called miss viki to confirm that they received it and she confirmed they did and promised it would go out in the mail on tues the 1st of JUNE!what does it take to get paid for a service that i have provided?

Stay far away from this company. If you do deal, be very careful. They pulled many hidden strings on me while I dealt with them, including no service on Saturdays and cancellation fees and such.
Ive been with choice about a year now and my first two claims went as expected minor repairs that were fixed with no problems within a day or 2. but my last claim is what really made the difference. My water heater went out suddenly while my inlaws were over my house. i called choice they sent a tech same day the problem was fixed within and hour without anyone noticing and i avoided embarrasment. so far choice has a 3 for 3 record and i will be renewing this year.
I have not had any problems with Choice. Keep up the good work Choice Home Warranty!!!!

John from Access Mechanical Services, picked up my urgent voice mail message at 9:00pm, only 1 hour after I filed the claim with Choice Home Warranty. John came immediately over to our house, analyzed the problem with my hot water heater, repaired it on-site and within 15 minutes, our hot water heat was working again by 9:45pm This in itself is a great accomplishment, but what makes this really amazing was the urgency of getting our hot water heater repaired. The urgency was due to the fact that the following afternoon, we are closing on the sale of my house to a new buyer and needed everything in our home to be operating perfectly during the final home walk through.

I have just started this company’s warranty. So far I am happy. only thing i did not like is when they send person for any repair they require payment of 45 dollar right away. I believe it should be after repairs finish. It just for customer satisfaction. I had previous warranty with other company they were asking money after repairs is done fully.

I live in Texas, and on the weekend it was 100 degrees, my AC went out. So, I called Choice. The first company they had me call said they had never worked with Choice and didn’t know how they got their number. An hour later, the second company also said they didn’t do business with Choice. After the third failed attempt I had customer service give me a list of 3 numbers at once and I called until I found someone that worked with Choice. It was a very long process and I would expect a company to keep up with it’s own telephone book of companies they do business with. I just hope that this doesn’t happen with my next claim!

Choice is a very good warranty company. Very good service. Sometimes When i call Customer Service they are not responsive.
Avoid this company like the plague. They use any excuse to avoid paying any claims. I filed a claim for a water heater that was not heating properly. There was no leak. The service technician arrived and said that the heater needed to be replaced. Choice Home Warranty denied the claims stating that since there was a leak the hot water heater was not covered. The hot water heater has never leaked. The representative stated that the repair techncian’s report stated there is a leak. I told her that I should know if my hot water heater leaked and she replied that I should take it up with the technician.
My air conditioner went out during a time that it was in the high 90′s. I obtained the name of a company which was local. This allowed them to come the very next day and we had air conditioning within 24 hours of my reporting the problem. I was overjoyed
We had a broken dryer that would not heat up. I called in the repair and it was dispatched and fixed the same day.

I bought my home in 2007, when I closed I was offered First American Home Buyer’s Protection, which I purchased and kept for many years. However, after my last horrible contractor experience, I switched to Choice Home Warranty. CHW has faster service, lower service call fees and lower monthly fees.
So, my Maytag refrigerator went out last Monday. Called Choice Home Warranty, repair contractor was assigned, but never called. Next day, I called Choice Home Warranty again and they assigned another contractor. Denny’s Home Appliance was quick to respond same day, did the inspection, waited and received approval and repair was completed on SATURDAY. Great work CHW!

I am a senior citizen,living in a active adult community. My air conditioner btoke down on a Saturday after noon. When I called the company for sevice on Monday morning, they had sent the tech, the very same day! and the part needed was ordered over night and the airconditioner was fixed on Tuesday morning !. This is extraodinary service by any standards. I am extremely happy with their service and the promptness. I will be very happy to recommend them to all my friends

Choice Home Warranty’s customer service was great. They continuously tried to get me a service technician. After the third assignment, finally a tech came the next day. He advised me that he would have to come back on Monday (June 21, 2010) to complete the necessary work. Today is Tuesday, June 22, 2010 and I’m still waiting for the tech to return. The tech from Air One was good but advised me that due to customers who have absolutely no air working in their homes, my case will not be priority. I understand this. I am still waiting for the tech to return to my home.
I called on Thursday evening after 5:30 business hours to report that our air conditioning system had gone out. The claims agent was courteous and understood that we lived in 98 degrees temperatures right now. CHW called me the next morning to let me know that my claim had been assigned to a reputable, and most importantly, a local air conditioning company. The AC contractor called me by 11:00 am. and came out and repaired our system within a couple of hours! And we live out in the country. I could not have gotten better service if I had taken care of it myself. Knowing that we would only be responsible for the service fee freed us from any anxiety around our getting it repaired. This was our first claim and we feel relieved that things went so smoothly.We are extremely pleased with our experience so far with Choice Home Warranty Service.

I filed a claim with Choice over 2 months ago. A repairman was sent immediately but could not repair the washer. They said they would send us a check for the replacement part. We found someone who replaced the part and waited for the check. The amount they agreed on was $100.00 less than we had to pay, but that’s okay. The problem is we’ve called and spoken to 7 different people and gotten 7 different stories. It keeps changing. First they were going to send another repairman. After a week we followed up and found out they never inteneded to. Then they told us they sent a check. We’ve been told the check was mailed (on 3 different dates). Nobody could give us a check number. We asked for a supervisor to contact us and were promised they would. That never happened. 2 months have passed and still no check. We’ve been lied to every step of the way and treated extremely rude by their customer service people. We’ve done nothing wrong and the claim has not been denied. They just refuse to pay their claim. I’ve submitted complaints to the FTC, Online BBB, and the NJ Attorney General. I don’t know if we’ll ever see the money, but I’ll save money in the long run, as I will NEVER do business with them again, and make sure everyone knows how unscrupulous they are. Deal with them at your own risk. They are a poor company who takes your money, but does not fulfill their part of the contract. Buyer beware!
We are an appliance repair service. We did several jobs for Choice earlier this year. They still have not paid us for the services provided. The accounts payable department will either, a) say they didn’t receive the invoice, even though I have a fax delivery notification that they did, or b) promise that the checks will be mailed next week. Three different check promise dates have come and gone without payment from Choice.
Without exception, the people that we have worked with from Choice have been rude and unresponsive. This includes the customer service people, the accounts payable people, and the people in their authorization department.
I would advise all potential service companies to stay away from Choice.

I recently filed my first claim with my home warranty. I have been in my house for less than six months and it is also my first home so inevitable repairs are a new world for me. The representative took my information, walked me through the process, and gave me all the information I needed to make the service appointment. It was after business hours when all this happened, but both the warranty representative and the service technician were prompt and very helpful. The service technician came the next day, on time, and corrected the problem that was causing my air conditioning to not cool. Having my Choice Home Warranty definitely gave me a sense of security and ease during a time that could have been very stressfull.
Do not deal with this company! Many hidden strings and very poor service.
Worst company ever! I am in the process of reporting them to VA/NY/NJ attorney generals and bereau of banking and Insurances as well. They cancelled my policy on their own, tried to give my credit card info to third person without my knowledge and used foul language with me. Worst ever company. Do not do business with them, even if they offer you free warranty.
They do not refund money as quickly and a perky as they say they will people.. it takes them over thirty days.. They also do not pay for many things in AC service.. like freon, valves, and basic stuff you will need to get it up and running.. you may as well buy a new one yourself… they are trash.. that is why they are so CHEAP…

Today was my first experience with Choice Home Warranty. The positives were they quickly answered the phone and they provide you the ability to submit claims via their website. The major negatives were they did everything possible not to provide service. The first thing they said after I told them my issue was it was not covered. I pointed out the section of the contract that stated it was covered so they put me on hold then said okay they will have a contractor call me. Once the contractor came on-site and I paid the deductible CHW spoke with me and stated since the part (not labor) was still covered on the manufacturer warranty they will not cover parts or labor for the repair. They then pointed one line buried in the contract that states if the manufacturer warranty covers any part of the failure CHW will not cover anything on the service call. They did everything possible not to honor a small $200 repair. I’m afraid to see what is going to happen if I have a bigger issue.
My built-in microwave oven stopped heating and I called
choice for a service technician to come out. The tech came to my home about three days after I made the phone call. He advise me that the parts he needed had to be ordered. Several days had gone by and I called Choice to check the status of the parts. At this time customer service told me because my microwave was still under a three warranty, I had to contact the manufactuer. So, I contacted GE only to find out that the warranty expired after one year. I called Choice back to inform them that my microwave was covered under a three year warranty and I was asked to send proof by fax and email from GE that the warranty had expired. I sent the proof requested and still have not gotten my micowave repaired and I will defintely cancell my contract with them!

I requested repairs for a dishwasher and an A/C unit. On the A/C unit the first contractor never contacted me and I could not find any listing in the local phone directory. I assume he was out of business. After 2nd call for A/C the day delay meant we were without A/C over a very hot weekend. A/C was fixed the next tuesday and is working now.
The 2nd call on a dishwasher; I was contacted by the contractor for Choice Home Warranty and was told the repairs would be completed the following day. I have just learned the repair is still not complete after 2 weeks of waiting. So far I am not impressed with Choice Home Warranty!
I called CHM about my air conditioner and was extremely pleased by their quick professional service. Sam and Ashley were both very helpful in getting my claim processed promptly and to my complete satisfaction. They sent the reimbusment form for me to fill out and return and they promised I would recieve the check in thiry days.
Tom Parker Plumbing is one of the best plumbers we have had help us with our stoppage problems. He came the very day he was assigned to our case. He was able to accurately determine what was causing the problem and fix it. He was also friendly and courteous.
I submitted a claim for my air conditioner and CHW handled the claim in a quick, professional manner. Sam snd Ashley were very polite and helpful and a service rep was out that day. They sent me a reimbusment form to fill out and return and promised to send a check with-in 30 days.
We apologize about the service delay you may have experienced during this past July 4 Holiday Weekend. Our call center was open, however due to the heat wave, many of our contractors were booked up and not available for immediate service. We are taking precautions to make sure that service delays do not happen again the future.

When I called the choice home warrenty and they linked me with a contractor, the contractor told me he has never delt with Choice home warrenty and how did it work? So after getting a representative from CHW to talk with the contractor, the contractor was out to our house within an hour! Great response on the contractors part!

We had a plumbing stoppage issue and the company called me back to schedule the appointment. I chose an appointment time reasonable to myself and the technician came within a good time. He was knowledgeable and friendly and cleaned up after himself. I was happy with the service I received.
I purchased this warranty on July 13, 2010. After I went home, my husband told me that this was the worst company next to American Home Shield that I could have picked. I called on today, JULY 14, 2010 and they wouldn’t even refund my money saying that no refund was due to me because of administrative fees. This company is a big liar and that’s why they are so cheap. The customer service was awful in just the two days that I spoke with them and the wait time to talk to a rep is riduculous. I’m glad that I found out about this company early on. I was saved from the poor service in the future. Do not choose this company. Two words—-BIG RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a customer call with a no AC call, they needed a TXV installed not covered by the warranty. I installed the TXV and the customer paid the invoice. The next day the customer called and the unit stopped working again. They call CHW and the covered part would not be covered if the customer didn’t proved the past 10 years of service records. This is a warranty provided to a customer that just purchased a house. How does a customer that just purchased a house provide 10 years of service records. Stay away from this company, they want your money with no service in return.

I had American Home Shield and was satisfied with their service. Due to a rate increase, I went on the internet to find my options and found this worthless company. I never really had a problem with AHS. They replaced the hot water heater in my home and fixed the dishwasher and clothes dryer in my guest house. I had NO complaints. All I was trying to do was find a company with a lower monthly premium and I now find myself with NO coverage. Anyway, I called Choice Home and talked to a customer service person named Kevin Micheals. He convinced me to go with Choice Home, telling me what a great company they are and told me that my coverage would be effective immediately. He then told me to cancel my policy with AHS but make sure that I ask for an email from AHS that documented the fact that I had canceled. I did just that but was told by AHS that they would not email or fax me a confirmation of cancellation; I would have to wait and get it through snail-mail. When I called back to Choice Home and told them that, I was informed that because I canceled my policy due to AHS denying a claim that I made, my coverage wouldn’t be effective for 30 days. What in the heck are they talking about!!! I didn’t cancel because of a denied claim, there was NO denied claim, I canceled because Kevin Micheals, their customer service rep told me I had to. If I had known what their game was, I would have left my AHS policy in effect and canceled after 30 days but I was instructed to cancel immediately!! Most likely had I known what was going to happen, I wouldn’t have canceled AHS at all. I guess it goes back to the old saying “You get what you pay for!!!!” I am totally ticked off and haven’t decided what to do now based on the reviews I have read about ALL of these companies.
Considering the addition of a small amount of refrigerant during a routine maintenance check a month before the failure of an AC compressor as a pre-existing condition is absurd and unethical.
This started back in 11/09. Purchased Warranty from CHW and needed them within 45 days for heating system. The contract has fine print that excuses them from numerous responsibilities. I tried to appeal their decision not to repair and had two servicemen to tell them that my unit was not “neglected”. Uses the pre-existing condition and lack of maintenance clause as an “out”. Refused to honor my claim. I filed with BBB, Consumer Protection. If you have been ripped off, please follow suit. Buyer beware!! Avoid this company at all costs.

Excellent pricing and coverage is more extensive than most home warranty companies. Polite customer service reps and very good follow-up by Choice when a service request is made. Companies used are excellent- better than my previous home warranty company. Took a while to get reimbursed for a garagae door opener but received in the end. Only annoying issue I have had is in the renewal process- too many phone calls and emails about renewing early. One person called three times and was quite rude when I said I was not ready to renew; all others have been polite. I do plan to renew but not 2 months early.
Have recommended company to a realtor. Positives definitely outweigh the few negatives.

Choice home warrantly have proved to be very competitive. I switched from a different company and have had no regrets so far. They are prompt in answering and reacting to claims.
The mechanic from Cool Blew called before he arrived and told me when to expect him. He was right on time. He was very pleasant and knew what the problem was after looking at the unit. It had a bad motor. He had one in his van and installed the new fan and the A/C unit was up and running with-in a half hour. I can not ask for better service and the prompt repair. I will certainly recommend CHOICE HOME WARRANTY
We had repairs on the electrical system and dishwasher with nothing less than 100% satisfaction. the contractors were not only very capable but quite curteous. A truly pleasant experiance considering the dealings with my prior Home Warranty company!
I called about my oven not working. The customer service representative was curtoeus and pleasant to speak too. They gave the number for a technician in my area. Even before I could call them I received a call from them stating Choice Home Warranty informed them of my problem. The tech came over fixed the problem and was off. A very good experience plus a great money saving tool. I am going to recommend Choice Home Warranty to family and friends.

I switched to Choice after reading reviews which are all inaccurate about this company. I previously had first american and they fixed my AC unit when it was out 2 times. My AC unit recently broke and I called Choice for nothing. They would not fix the unit. They send someone out which said the unit was rusted. OF COURSE the unit is rusted it is 30 years old. The contractor also stated that the compressor may be out……I am confident this is the reason they are not repairing the unit. It worked perfectly fine last year and a week ago. They asked me to provide records of maintenance. I provided the last service of 9 months ago reporting that the filters had been clean, unit freon was fine, and they replaced the thermometer. This was not considered routine servicing for them so they denied the claim. WHY PAY THIS TYPE OF INSURANCE? I should

I explained that my refrigerator repair was pertinent, being that I have 2 very small children in the home… but the company has done nothing to help in expediting the repair. Furthermore, upon requesting additional assistance, Jonathan (who claims to be a manager) refuses to allow me to speak with higher management. He has provided me with terrible service from unfulfilled statements, to sarcasm, to unprofessionalism, to being just plain rude… and beyond. I\’ll be more than happy to provide more documented details.
My contracor was extremely prompt in calling me and was able to repair my A/C on a SUnday. This went above and beyond my expectations.

I opened a new claim Fri. 07/16/10. Nobody got back to me until Mon. 07/19/10 which is completely un acceptable. My refrigerator will ok but the service technitian spoke really broken English and is very hard to understand. He told me he would be at my house Tues 07/20 between 7:30 and 8pm but never showed so finally I had to call him the next day and he finally showed up and said that he would have to order the part pending approval of the warranty company and would let me know when he will be there to install it. Haven\’t heard anything yet. I am really unhappy with the way these home warranties work as far as the wait time for repairs.
After purchasing my home last year, and after searching for a reputable company to purchase a warranty policy, I settled with Choice Home Warranty. According to the home inspection, all appliances were in good condition, some of which were and still are under the manufacturer’s warranty. Shortly thereafter, I began to have problems with my hot water heater and called CHW to report the problem. I found them to be quick to respond and I found the problem to be handled in a very professional manner. Since then, with summer temperatures up in the high 90\’s my air-conditioner quit working and once again I called upon CHW to report the problem. When I did, they were extremely empathic and very quick to take care of the problem. Based on my personal experience with CHW, they have always been excellent, professional and very quick to respond. Personally,I would not dream of doing business with any one else.
Our A/C systems didn\’t work and I contacted CHW online. Within 24 hours, a professional technician arrived and fixed the problem. We were very please with the sevice.
I had First American Home Protection insurance on and off for 12 years. I cancelled this insurance multiple times because they would not repair some of the items that were supposed to be covered and the technicians that came to my house were not up to par. I am a very successful realtor in NJ. Until last year I was an avid promoter and personal user of American Home Shield. With the decline in the economy I looked for an alternative to AHS as they were running at over $500/year to service my home and my clients. I found choice home warranty. Thought it was good that they were based in NJ, price was great and they covered more. What a mistake
In fact had a hard time getting anyone at Choice to respond to my calls, did email Troy McDermott the sales guy I gave all the business too and he did not care. I will not go into the gory details it’s too odd that everyone I referred all had the same experience, many of the service providers claimed that choice had not paid their bills and had negative comments on choice. They refused to fix a plumbing problem due to galvanized pipes, often made appoinments and the providers do not show-when I called them they were nasty. Who needs this. AHS is the benchmark for customer service, CHS is the benchmark for failure
The response time was really quick. A technician was contacted immediately to resolve the problem.
I scheduled an appointment very quick and easy. However, the repair man said that they got a call from CHW canceling out the order, so i never got a call. I ended up calling the repair service and had to call CHW again to send over my information. Repair service was very good. However, the approval for my repair took 24 hours, where as my last Home Warranty company HWA approved right over the phone that same day. My repair was only an $80 garbage disposal. I can handle the miscommuincation about the repair order, but having 24 hours to grant the approval is unacceptable (i am told that 24 hours is the guideline). Grant

I have experienced nothing but positive results since I\’ve had Choice Home Warranty. There is no hassle when you call for service and they follow up to make sure your request was taken care of.
This company is not a legitimate company. They refuse to pay claims of any significance…. always stating “pre-existing condition”.
My AC froze up 6 or 7 weeks after purchasing the warranty. A tech came out and said I need a new coil. CHW denied claim saying it was pre-existing. I talked to the tech they sent out and he said it was obvious this was not a pre-existing issue. If it was, it would have froze up when I first started using it a month before it broke. He also said that in his experience with CHW, they always deny claims like this.
I appealed the denial using the procedures they told me to follow. It has been almost a month and no reply. Further confirmation this is not a legit company.
I finally called them back and got more of a run around and was told a supervisor will contact me within 24 hours.
I checked other sites with reviews and many other people have had the same experience with these guys.

I have used their service several times this past year (2009-2010) and had been satisfied. HOWEVER, my A/C compressor broke July 2010 and I live in Palm Desert so it got very HOT VERY FAST. I called Choice and they sent a technician who said the compressor was bad and he needed to clear it with Choice before doing a repair. Choice wanted documents showing that I had a technician servicing the unit twice a year or they would NOT cover my claim. Seeing as I maintained the unit myself (filter and general cleaning) I did not have the required documents. So my claim was denied and I had to pay the repair cost of $4000 out of my own pocket. Also, when I went to cancel my policy I found out that they charge a $50 cancellation fee.

although we had a transposition in the phone number to call for service, once we received the correct one, we made cpontact and the service was completed within 36 hours. And we even reported the issue on the week end. good job….

I have Choice Home warranty and havecalled them three times over the last three months for the same problem. My A/C unit isnt working and the problem has not been fully resolved with any of the repair services. Each time that I’ve called CHW, I’ve spoken with an extremely nasty claim representative. They all seem to have a terrible attitude, are totally unempathetic,sarcastic and rude. The last representative told me to “call back in two hours and hope you get someone else”. I’ve called for service over weekends, and was told that I needed to wait until Monday before someone would get back to me. I have yet to recieve a return phone call. I’ve tried to process my payments, via credit card, over the phone with the representative and was told that it took 24 – 48 hours to process a credit card payment and that they “would not help me until we get our money” and then the representative disconnected the call. I’ve asked, but the representatives refuse to transfer the calls or allow you to speak with a manager for assitance or a complaint. THEY ARE THE WORST at customer service.
The service technicians are never on time, and each time they told me that my order was cancelled, the appointment time was confused, or that they never received the work order from CHW. Several of their service technicians told me that CHW instructed them to do the “bare minimum to get the AC unit working, but not fully repair or fix the problem”, they have often complained that CHW has not paid them and in one instance the service technician diagnosed the problem but had to wait for 24 hours before CHW would give them the authorization to fix it. My family and I were left in 100 degree heat without AC for two days before CHW would approve the technician to make the ‘minimum repair’ possible. Its ridiculous! I would not recommend them to anyone!
The first technician that was assigned just looked at the issue and left. They were not willing to work on our a/c unit. Choice Home Warranty customer service was quick to find us a new company to work with. Armadillo Air was very helpful and even worked on saturday to get the issue resolved.
I have been with Choice Home Warranty for the past year now and I have yet to be disappointed. There was no lag in time when having to file a claim with customer service. The contractors assigned to my claim usually called and arrived the same day of claim, which is a big plus. Contractors were friendly and knowledgable. I was just completely happy with my whole experience. I will be renewing my warranty with no hesitation. Thanks Choice Warranty!
We have 6 policies with Choice Home Warranty. We have not had a problem with their service nor with them questioning whether or not something would be covered. Our 6 policies are up for renewal and we intend to renew the policies.
We have had two smaller, inexpensive claims on the garbage disposal and a contact on an A/C unit. CHW fixed them quickly and with little hassle. A different AC unit stops working correctly that the company had “fixed” before. The warranty company had installed a new air exchanger that does not “match” the unit that it is connected to in the attic. Now they say they will not cover the repair because the unit is “mixed-matched”.
The technician CHW sent to the house was some second hand contractor. His truck was falling apart and had hardly any tools and asked to borrow mine along with my ladder.
Also, the customer service has been extremely poor with very rude receptionists.
I would recommend thinking twice before using Choice Home Warranty. Make the right choice and steer clear of CHW!!! It will save you a lot of time, money, and hassle.
I had been a home warranty customer of a competitor for several years. Some recent actions by them had me second guessing my decision so began checking around. Came across Choice and after talking to one of you reps-made the switch. Well–we had our fist call with an AC problem and your staff was the most pleasant ever. What typically would have been a couple of days was handled that very evening. The company who came out was amazing in customer service and promptness. We even received a call from Choice asking if all was ok or if anything else needed. Both my wife and I absolutely thrilled at the prompt attention, the customer service, and the attention AFTER. We hadnt experienced anything like that in a long long time.
As far as we are concerned–you are the leader in the industry and something other providers can only try and imitate..
The two technicans that were sent were very efficient in there respective jobs.
They were on time, meticulous and neat in fixing the problems.

More of the same poor customer service!!! I have had a claim on my A/C for over a MONTH! CHW has assigned me to FOUR different companies and I have had two techs come out for a Dx (which were both different). It didn’t matter, because after a MONTH later, CHW denied the claim anyway because I didn’t have regular maintenance records. What is the POINT? CHW said the repair companies “didn’t get back to them” but I have confirmed with all three that they called back the day they came to my house for the service call. I cancelled my policy – $50 Fee!!!
The A/C Techs that came out to my rental house were fantastic. My renter reported that the used a wet vacuum to dry up the leaking A/C floor and blew out the condensation line. They were very friendly and professional.
Unfortunaly I have had 2 major repairs that would have totaled over $300 within the first six months of owning my new house. Fortunatly my Choice Home Warranty deductible has only been $120.

Choice Home warranty is a breath of fresh air compared to our last home warranty. Choice is prompt, the don\’t make you wait long on the phone and they send service people that get the job done quickly and efficently.
My AC went down on 7/8/10. I called CHW in the evening. They gave me the number of a local contractor. I got their voice mail. The next day they responded and informed me that they can not come out till Monday 7/12. Not acceptable as these are the hottest days in GA. Called a private contractor after contacting CHW and getting their OK. The bill was 144.90. As it was > $100.00 gor authorization #. The service tech talked to the service rep. at CHW. Got the invoice and Faxed both, the claim reimbersement form and invoice on 7/9/10. As of today 8/6/10 no reimbersement. Called CHW. Ashly Murphy responded. She asked me to resubmit the claim. Did it few min. ago and got her response that she will submit it to the proper department. I all it was frustrating experience. 1. When min. service call is $85, the pre-set amount is too small. You should raise it. It would have been very difficult to get Authorization number during the week end. 2. Why did my FAX got lost? I can show records from my fax machine that the fax was completed succesfully. 3. When it comes to get the money(premium) from customer, it is immediate, even before the expiry date, but when servicing and reimbersemnt takes a long time. I am not a Happy Customer. I have renewed for one more year till 11/23/2011. I will have to think twice before I renew again. Thanks.
Unfortunately I\’ve had to put in back to back claims for appliances that malfuntioned very close together. I haven\’t been with this company for very long because the last company I was with didn\’t even tell me that they no longer covered my area. I put my claims in online and very shortly after I received an e-mail letting me know that I had been assigned someone to repair my items. It was a very easy process and I\’m very glad that I found this company. I would recommend this product to anyone. Thank you very much for the opportunity to give some feedback.
It has been triple digits temperatures, in Houston, TX with the heat index reaching up to 110! When I got home from a long and tiring day at work, I walked in to a scorching hot house only to discover my air conditioner stopped working!!! It was so very hot in my home; you can imagine how uncomfortable it was to get a good night\’s sleep. The following day I made a call to CHW claims department and costumer service provided me with the number to Uno Air. I immediately made the call to Uno Air and the technician (Chris) responded quickly to my service request and was at my home within a few hours. Chris had my air working within 30 minutes! CHW claims service representative called the following day to follow-up to ensure my complete satisfaction. The service I received from CHW and Uno Air was exceptional!!! In the middle of July in Arizona our A/C went out. The first vendor that we called wasn\’t able to come out the next day, so we did have to call Choice Home again and request another vendor to call, which they were willing to do and we had our A/C fixed within 24 hours. So we were very pleased. We have had major problems with other companies. So we switched. This was the first service call we had, and it even confirmed that I should go ahead and renew my upcoming policy with them. My experience was not the best. While I think CHW did a good job of calling me to follow up on the process, the technician hired left me waiting without so much as phone call for much of the days of service. While I did state that CHW did it\’s part, I was told to keep in touch with the tech, when it should have been the other way around. I am the customer.
Choice Home Warranty is convenient, reliable and easy to use. I had another home warranty company for nine years and Choice Home Warranty is faster and they take extra effort to ensure your repair providers contact you immediately. The co-pay is minimal and the savings are huge. Most importantly they send knowledgeable honest and friendly repair providers.
Policy didn’t cover anything, had a cracked pool filter casing, broken oven controller, plumbing issues. All considered “cosmetic”. Rude customer service, cancelled policy immediately!
When our A/C want out I thought we were really in for a bad time, as we live in the desert and it was 112 outside. I called choice home warrentee and got a phone # to call. We got off to a bit of a rocky start with your first electrician leaving me with visions of holes in the walls, expensive repairs, repainting, a mess. The second electrician quickly diagnosed the problem and got on with fixing it. It was relatively simple, although he did need to travel to get the part required: the receiver for the remote control on my ceiling fan. Well handled by guy No. 2, not so well handled by guy No. 1.
Crooks! They take your money and give you no warranty coverage whatsoever. Whatever you do look elsewhere!!! Check their F rating on the New Jersey BBB for yourself and do not be fooled!!!!!

I just joined the plan and had to use the service for a dishwasher repair, and it was indeed a very pleasant experience. The customer service was very patient and helpful throughout the process.
Had garbage disposal replaced. Choice was quick and responsive. Contractor EZ Plumbing was not a good service. he did not want to work with the small job. Another plumber was assigned PB plumbing and they performed well.
I was having a bad day when my AC quit working and it was 93 degrees on Sunday! In less than 24 hours our AC was repaired and it only cost me the CoPay! Thank You CHW~
This is my first experience with CHW and if the customer service I have received from placing my request to being serviced by Hopkins Air & Heating got any better, I wouldn\’t know what to say! I was so pleased with the ease in which I received my claim # and the service technician (Keith)contacted me for my appointment.He was timely, courteous, and very knowledgeable. The electrician from TradeMasters Inc. came and did a fantastic job in explaning what was the cause of my blinking light and the buzzing of the light switch. I found out exactly what the cause of it was and it was fixed. So he was very helpful. However, it would be curtious if the electrian or someone from CHW would notify me by phone if for some reason the techician is unable to make it to the customers house that the appointment is set. Other than that I was satisfied.
I filed 3 claims since my enrollment in March 2010. All problems with my AC systems were resolved on time by very professional technicians assigned by CHW. Thank you!
My built in microwave stopped working. Took 4 different claims and 4 different contractors (first 3 didn’t even call me back), 3 weeks and $60 later, when one of the contractors showed up and told me that i need new microwave, he will get authorization, i was told by Choice that there is nothing mechanically wrong with my microwave… No one cares that it doesn’t worm up the food… What a rip off!!! I used to have 2-10 for last 10 years and never had an issue. I decided to try chipper annual rate. I guess what you pay is what you get…

Choice Home Warranty did respond quickly to my initial call. However when the problem part was found to be under manufacturer\’s warranty the service bogged down.
I spent over 2hrs on the phone with both the manufacturer and CHW trying to solve the problem of paying double service calls and paying for a part that may or not be under waranty.
After all was said and done, and I was finally transfered to the correct department (if I heard that from a CHW employee one more time I was going to explode), CHW did resolve the situation to my satisfaction.
I do believe their Customer Service Staff needs more training or needs to be given more authority to solve customer problems asap without constant transfering.
Also, when transfering a call, all of the pertinent information (client name, contract #, problem being dealt with) and just general knowledge necessary to give a client confidence in the person they are talking to should be passed along, seemlessly, from one CHW Customer Service Representative to the next.

I purchased a total plan home warranty from Choice Home Warranty. I believed and hoped I would not need it, unfortunately I did, during the hottest days of August 2010 my air conditioner stopped working. I phoned and emailed Choice only to be put on hold and transferred never reaching anyone of authority. I was told I had to provide annual maintenance receipts. I actually had done some annual maintenance the last two years but was unable to find any receipts. I paid $530 for the repairs myself. Choice Home Warranty is a complete waste of money.
Got conected quickly with companies to fix my problems. The company took care of my dispossal quickly, but had to cme back forthe plumbing on the washing machine severa times. When I called CHW, they rushed the approval to get them here quickly.
I\’m not happy at this time. My compressor on a unit burn out and it took 5days before i was approve. Not only that noone ever called me. I did all the calling. My mother was visitng from out of town needless to say she\’s on oxgyen and no one seem to care. I think with these warrantys that they should ask for proof before they take your money. I was denied once before concerning my refrigerator. I think someone should take there time and go over the contract before sending it in the mail.
The first contractor sent out was rude and verbally abusive. I contacted Choice immediately and they took care of the situation promptly and professionally. A new contractor was sent out at no fee and the job was well done.
This is honestly the worst company I’ve dealt with in my lifetime. To sum it up…liar, liar, pants on fire.
Excessive hold and wait time. They cannot get a contractor to your home. Contractors have called me back stating they can’t come and repair because Choice doesn’t pay their bills. Another told me they’d come but I’d have to pay additional fees, etc.
I finally go and get the condition repaired on my own and Choice DENIES it. Ask the sales department if the condition is covered, they’ll tell you “Yes, No problem”. Once you have a problem? You’ll get nowhere fast and they’ll deny your claim.
Run prospective consumers….RUN

One of our air conditioning units broke and we called Choice to request a service call.
Good Faith Air Conditioning Repair was given our request and responded within a few hours and came to the house that afternoon. After diagnosing the problem the technician replaced the broken part. After doing so though, that replacement part also broke and the technician had to be called and immediately came back. He had made a mistake in the repair and quickly corrected the problem. We were happy with the response and quality of the work provided.
My refrigerator broke down and I could not be home for the day they schedule for repair. Customer service was excellent, they called up serveral service men and found one for me. Service man came at time promised and fix the refrigerator. Service man was very professional,and if I need repairs again would want him back. This is the first time I used the service and I am glad that I choose to go with Choice Home.
Whiel CHW has been good, the company is less that reliable. They came back for a second time, couldn\’t fix the problem (I understood they did not have the proper tools), said they would call the next day to make an appt to fix it, did not call, when i called them they said to call back on monday (this was asat.) NOT HELPFUL and HAD TO WAIT FOREVER.

CHW has exceeded my expectations as a company by placing such high regard for customer input with such a rapid and interested approach to my problem. Have had to call in to CHW on a couple different appliance problems and CHW had me set up with a repair company on the same day. The repair companies were able to come to my home and have the problem fixed by the latest, the next day. I am very happy and pleased with our CHW relationship.
Were are very pleased with the service Sun Devil Pool Service provided. They even offered advice on our questions that were not part of the service call!
I was very reluctant about a monthly service plan for my appliances. This call eliminated all my concerns. My stove stopped working on Sunday, I called late Monday afternoon to request service and had service first thing Tuesday morning. I was provided a 2-hour window which I thought was phenomenal. The tech arrived at 10:00 (time window 10-12) and replaced a part for my stove. I was only charged for the service call. All my friends will know about Choice Home Warranty and Smiling Jim\’s Appliance Repair, who truly provided outstanding service with a smile.

Water Heater went out beyound repair, called Choice on 8/20/10 they sent msg to me stating who to contact. Plumber came out on saturday 8/21/10. Took 4 days for Choice to make an approved for repaires. My cost to replace a water heater 900.00 and found out choice was only to pay me $120.00 for some nit-nough parts. Tks alot I would not recommend any of these home warranty programs.
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy Home Choice Warranty. They are complete scams. Initially they were professional and courteous when I submitted claim to have washer fixed. However when discovered how much work would cause. I received the following excuses. In short transmission is covered under manufactuerer’s warranty, NOT. We need a second opinion. 2nd opinion revealed same problem. Overheard tech talking to Home Choice Rep, Rep stated “How much is that?”. After complete run around for over 2 weeks told oh your house isn’t covered and we don’t replace transmissions. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Anyone interested in a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT? That’s the short of it. They are SCAMMERS!!!
My pool pump stopped working and the pool contractor replaced the pump the same day! No problems or questions asked regarding coverage. Outstanding customer service!! I was impressed!
The Dryer went out the weekend before School Started! It was repaired in 48 Hours and School started with clean and Dry Clothes for everyone! Thank You CHW~

I had my washer fixed by a qualified technician within 1 hour from the time at house. Choice would always follow up before service and after service was rendered. Pleasant experience from start to finish.
This is our first service call. Not certain of the service yet. They only came out yesterday, but they have to order the part. So we will have to see.
The service was quick and good. I put in a claim online in the morning, I received a call from the service company that afternoon, and the service man came the next morning at 8 am. My washing machine is repaired and running again. It was great!
I am a new Customer with Choice due to being unhappy with my last Home Warranty Company. I have been very satisfied so far with their customer service.They always follow up after a claim to make sure someone has contact you regarding your claim & that things have been handeled. In regard to the technichian Artisan Plumbing I have no complaints. This was a professional company, very neet and thorough. In regard to you employees and contract I am disgusted with this compan and your agents lack of knowledge of policy coverage and what you cover. In regard to freon being rplace din a broken A/C unit you failed to payy for the labor to install the Freon. Furthermore I spoke with several A/C companies including my energy company who told me anytime freon is added you need to send a die and purge the system to make sure there is no contaminents before the freon is added. This is normal and customary procedures yet you failed to cover thi issue. I had American Home Shield and was talked into becoming a client. I am disatisfied with the claim submitted and unless this matter is rectified i see no need to renew my service contract with this company. Please have a supervisor call me to discuss the bill
The tech assigned to our claim for A/C repair was very prompt, diagnosed the problem quickly and within an hour had the unit working again. He even gave us some tips on recommended preventive maintenance. I was very satisfied to have chosen Choice Home Warranties on our 4 properties.
After doing the dishes on a late Sunday evening, I realized the drain was clogged. After several attempts with liquid drain/clog remover, I gave up at 10:00. On a whim, I contacted Choice Home Warranty to see if anyone would answer that late at night. Sure enough, they not only answered but set up my claim and gave me a local plumber to call. I thought I would receive the answering machine, but called the local plumber around 10:15. I left a message. The local plumber called me by 10:30 and scheduled my appointment for 9:00 a.m. the next morning. The plumber was timely and cleared the drain by 9:30. I gladly paid my negotiated service rate and the plumber told me CHW would take care of the rest. My friend was over the night before and couldn\’t believe the service I received! Great Job CHW~
The representative at CHW was pleasant and prompt; the assigned technician was competent and courteous. I called in the evening and my clothes washer was repaired the next day. Then they followed up to make sure the problem was solved. Wonderful customer service!

I am pleased you followed up to see if my repair request was done. The first contractor you gave for my fridge repair did not show up after two days. The day following my request, you contacted me to see if the repair was done. On the 3rd day following my request and the contractor did not show up, you sent me another contractor who showed up the same day and fixed the problem and I am pleased with this. However, it is my understanding that CHW do not pay their contractor promptly and that was the reason the first contractor did not show up.
Your follow up procedure is great but please ensure that the contractors are paid as well. Thanks
I was not happy with my experience. i was assigned a technician who I waited 3 days tto get service before I was assigned another technician who did not answer his phone and was finally told to get my own tech as yours were unavailable to get to us. washer needed $450 so I was offered 359. My contract calls for replacement if not fixable. i was finally offere $400 which I accepted
When my air conditioning stopped working, I called Choice and was given the name of the company, DHL Home Services and someone was able to come out the same day and fix the air.
The service provider was Jennings Plumbing Service. Kevin and his assistant were very courteous. They serviced both toilets in about 1 1/2 hours.Seemed very knowledgeable.
It was a hot muggy early saturday morning when my A/C stopped functioning. I called CHW and was quickly given the name and phone number of a local A/C repair service. Within an hour a technician was dispatched who rapidly diagnosed the problem, arranged to pick up needed repair parts and quickly installed them and had my A/C humming (and cooling) once again. Time between my initial call to CHW and the finish of the repair job was less than four hours! Thanks, Choice Home Warranty.

Company resolved a matter that was on the fence for them to either deny or accept. They accepted the offer very fairly and the issue was resolved. Not many warranty companies would of done that! A for effort in my book!
I had a good experience with Choice Warranty in choosing Jennings Plumbing Services. Kevin and his assistant seemed to be very knowledgeable. They took care of the problem in about 1 1/2 hours.
Not only did CHW respond quickly, they assigned the job to one of the most efficient, fast moving and accommodating plumbling company I\’ve yet to have experience with, ATLAS PLUMBING. The technician was cordial, fast, thorough and came at a time convenient for me since I work fulltime. I am ever so grateful for their attention to my needs.
I purchased a new home in April, and the seller included a home warranty with the purchase. I have never used a home warranty before and figured it would be a huge hassle. I am pleased to say filing a claim has been extremely easy, and the contractor used are professional and knowledgeable. I will likely renew my warranty next year when it expires. This is my first claim after purchasing the home warranty with CHW for a rental property of mine. Soon after my property manager reported the problem (wash machine), a technician was assigned and I was contacted both through email and phone, very fast and effective. The repair was done also promptly. Although I did not meet the technician in person, he sounds very polite and experiences over the phone. Thanks CHW for giving me a peace of mind being as a landlord.
The service provider was right on time and was great!! We\’ve been extremely happy with the service we\’ve received each time we\’ve had to use the service. Have been with Choice Home Warranty for two years. My first year was rocky and there were some issues with delayed service and more. Recently, I had a plumbing stoppage and got service within about 15 hours. Serviceman was very good,helpful and I was pleased to only have the service call fee instead of the usual charge. For this past service, I will rate the company excellent.
I was impressed with how quickly Choice responded to my service need. Within less than an hour, the plumber called and was available the next day. He arrived on time, took whatever time necessary to explain the problem and resolution, and made sure that everything was fixed. My former warranty, First American Buyers usually took 24-48 hours to get something scheduled, typically from a repair person 30 miles away, and often their first word was \

Being away from my home and the tenants taking care of my home, just one phone call was enough for ChoiceHomeWarranty to get into act and fix the problem my home had. The garbage disposer was leaking from the bottom and this was fixed by their personnel (probably contracted third party) with 4 hours of the phone call and $45 deductible.
Once I got a response of coverage from your company the repair company assigned called me right away. They showed up on time and were wonderful. Pleasantly surprised! Thanks!
These good reviews HAVE to be fake. This company is terrible. I have tried to use them three times. We had to go out-of-pocket because the providers say CHW does not pay their bills. Today one of my appliances broke down and they referred me to a so-called service place in another city. When I called them, they had never heard of CHW and said they don’t even come to my city to do service calls. They do pools, not appliances. I am totally fed up and I am not looking forward to fighting with them to cancel my plan. They have an F-Rating on the BBB New Jersey site. It doesn’t get any worse. What a terrible scam. Horrible, just horrible. DO NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am confused by the excellent posts above. I have had a claim since June 2010, and as of yet, still have a broken washer. About 7 resources were assigned by Choice and two told me that would not complete the service because the company was not paying. Five weeks ago, the company agreed to settle for $260, so I repaired the washer. To date the check has not been received. I called the company on Thursday and Friday this week and it was “closed due to a computer upgrade for 48 hours”! Very poor service.
I needed service to my clothes washer which was not working properly. I contacted Choice Warranty and immediately received a technician\’s number to contact. The technician arrived the next day and the repair was made after a part was picked up. The follow-up from Choice was on a daily basis and the experience was much better than I expected. I would recommend their warranty service.

I must say Choice has a GREAT customer service staff, however, service for home repair is another question. On a few occasions when I place a service call on a WEEKDAY, I was told that the staff had left for the day. How do you run a company and allow the staff to leave hours before you stop placing service calls. They are not available on weekends to approve ANY claims. I have had technicians come out on the weekends, only to leave without fixing anything because no claims could be approved. You can call in service calls but no one will be assigned until the next business day.
I signed up with CHOICE because of price, but was not aware of their record… called BBB and find out they have “F” rating. Read some comments and decide to cancel my contract the next day… Well it cost me $50.00 to cancel plus proration while they did not received my cancellation letter. This company is a scam… stays away and do not be faked by their low rates… The website they saying is better than BBB called “Online Business Bureau” is also a fraud… Trust BBB this is their Goal to weed out scums like these guys are.
Horrible company! From the first claim to the last. Service tech that was dispatched to my residence is not properly trained/certified (wife came to help him). 1 repair that was covered and parts unavailable I’m still waiting for payment several months later. customer service is horrible. slow inconsiderate and down right rude. Now maybe its just me but ive been in customer service my whole life and have reasonable expectation’s. fix whats covered and i’m a happy camper. but now im a upset consumer.
I am pleased at my first experience with Choice Home Warranty. I was appointed a repair technician right away on a Saturday. The technician arrived on Wed and fixed the problem in a day (cook top burners) after obtaining the necessary replacement parts. The service rep was knowledgeable and courteous. I would definately recommend Choice warranty to other home owners.
We are very happy with the service. I called for a/c work at about 4:30 pm and was given a phone number to call and they showed up by 6pm and fixed the problem by 7pm.
I am extremely impressed with the speed and courteousness of both the response and the responder. Additionally the technician arrived quickly and identified the problem. While he is pursuing the final solution, I am equally impressed with his knowledge. This is my second experience in the past couple of months and I remain extremely impressed CHW. My decision to move to your service is one of the best decisions I have made!

I have several rental properties. The service and convenience of having Choice Homw Warranty makes maintaining my property an easy process.
I am very pleased with the quick and courteous service of both CHW and the companies they use to service our home appliance needs.
On Aug 29 During a 95+ heat wave my whole house air conditioner failed. CHW sent out a technician from a company not listed in the telephone directory or by the Better Business Bureau. The technician said my compressor failed due to a power surge. CHW asked for my annual maintenance records which I supplied. On Sep 15, 17 days after my air system failed CHW denied my claim because I did not have annual dealer maintenance. How would annual maintenance have prevented a power surge? No wonder on a scale of A to F, CHW was rated F by the Better Business Bureau.
I called Choice Warranty on a Monday to have my pool checked for a leak. Tuesday morning Sun Devil Pools came out fixed it and now I don\’t have a leak any more. Excellent service. My CHW agent was Derrick. He did an excellent job in taking care of my problem.
When I reported a problem with my garrage door opener I stated it had to do with the remote but wasnt sure. The person taking the call said it was covered in the new policy and they would send me one. The tech came out and said the opener was faulty and the remote could no longer be programed. I called and this time I was told the part was not covered. But because I was given incorrect information they would allow me $235 replacement cost. I then called back in and a third person again told me I was wrong. I asked if they were still going to send me the $235 and they said yes as they wanted satified customers. It is now 9/2410 and I have had no further word from you.
I called CHW for the first time after paying for an annual warranty, the problem was a leaking water heater. They gave me a number and name of a plumber to call, when contacted he said he did not service the area, this happened with 4 such companies that CHW provided, they finally asked me to get an estimate from a company and fax it to them. I went through the process and got 2 comparative quotes and when I contacted CSW they first asked why the price was $ 1,200 and then said that the water heater storage tank was not covered.
Beware of the fine print, there is a whole lot that is not covered, if you look under AC they can deny your claim for “poor maintenance” I’m not sure if the claim was denied because the amount for fixing it was higher than the premium paid, which is not fair because the whole point of an insurance is to insure against situations like this.
They will refund a pro-rated amount provided you agree to drop all claims and suits against them (check out the cancellation form).
I have never had such a prompt service. I had to use Choice’s service twice for two different issues and the response was so quick that I didn’t even believe. For both of the issues service person came to my house within an hour of my phone call. I highly recommend them to be chosen as your home warranty company.
This is agreat service. My heating system was not working and I called them. Within 24 hours they call me that they do not have an authorised techisian in Toledo, Ohio and I can do my own and they will reemurse me the money. But with my surprise, within 2 hours, they appoint a new authorise tech in toledo and they called me and my heatindg system was fixed within 2 days.
Placed service call for my refrigerator and a technician was in my house within 3 hours, he ordered the appropriate parts and will come back to install them as soon as he gets the parts.
I will be terminating my service with Choice effective immediately. The cost is outragous and they do not deliver.
Please do not take there roof protection. I can promise you they will not fix a thing. They try to find all kind of ways to keep from fixing anything. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PLEASE, you will be sorry. Do your home work first before you pick a home warranty company. I know I will and thats a promise. These people are not 4 stars more like 1 or 2 stars

CHW has had the greatest customer service we have experienced with any home warranty. They understand that you want your item fixed and do everything in their power to ensure that it is fixed, and fixed properly.
THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE. Sounds like they help with small claims, but anything big, like my AC problem, they say it is a pre-existing condition and do not cover. Stay away! I wish I would have read reviews before buying. However, when I purchased, they said I had 30 days to review contract and could cancel with no problem. I tried to cancel after reviewing contract and found out there was a $50 charge…. which I could not have known about until I reviewed the contract.

Before you purchase a Home Warranty read the fine print. There is so much they do not cover. The problem with Choice Home Warranty is they are no better to their vendors then they are to their clients. I am in a situation right now where two different vendors have not been paid by CHW. I live in a small rural area and there aren’t many vendors. I called these vendors to do work for me that is outside of the CHW policy and neither one will do work for me personally, because they have not been paid by CHW. I’m like thats between you and CHW, I’m paying for this service myself. They will not do work for me unless I pay the CHW bill! I asked why they hadn’t been paid, and I guess with CHW sending your invoice is not enough, you have to jump through hoops and cross all of your t’s and dot your i’s in a certain way or they won’t pay you! One vendor is plumbing and one is heating and A/C.
Then CHW caught a diiferent heating and A/C vendor ripping them off. They still use them! I told them I would not let those dishonest people back in my home!
I have rentals and I need a company I can count on. I am going to start putting my money in the bank and start self insuring. I don’t need CHW often, but mostly the things I call on is not covered, so why bother.
I put in a work order last Monday night for an electrical issue that I was experiencing. On Tuesday morning, I received an email that my case was assigned to a technician. Within 30 minutes of receiving the email, Latin Electric called about my issue. I was told that they could come out that afternoon, but I had to wait until Thursday afternoon due to my schedule. Latin Electric arrived early. The technician was friendly, professional and super efficient. He was able to identify the problem quickly and resolve the matter to my complete satisfaction. I am 100% satisfied this experience and the timeliness of the repairs!
I recently switched my home warranty from OLD REPUBLIC Home Warranty Plan and joined with CHOICE. I left OLD REPUBLIC because it took 2 weeks to get a tech out for a dishwasher problem. No one followed up with the service tech, who told me he would try to get approval for some part.The service tech never got back to me either. I had another problem with the same dishwasher after joining with Choice.With in a few hours your service department called to see if the tech had called me. By that evening I had an appointment the next morning. Again approval was needed for a part. Within 3 business days part was approved and dishwasher restored. I am very happy with choice, I will continue with choice, and will inform family and friends of your excellent customer service. Thank-you Judy McJennett

Worst company ever. What a scam? We tried them and cancelled within first 30 days. They didn’t issue a refund for 3 months and when they did they charged us $85. When they claim if you cancel within 30 days you’ll get 100% of your money back. It turned out they lied big time.
Choice Home Warranty is not a reputable company. They do not value their customers nor the vendors they refer out to. I have spoken with other Choice Customers and they can not get out of their contract fast enough. I would advise anyone and everyone to NOT use this company.

This was the first year I purchased Choice Warranty coverage. I had previously used another company, that I was not happy with, for years. I needed to call CHW a couple of times this year and I was completely satisfied with the service. I have already recommended CHW to my family and friends.
Choice Home Warranty\’s personnel were courteous and prompt during my initial call. When the contractor assigned refused to do the job, Choice customer service was again immediate, with no questions asked. I was quickly assigned a new contractor, who dealt with the problem efficiently and expertly.

CHW has been wonderful and responsive, this being the first time I have ever had to file a claim. However, it has been the people that they contracted to that has been very disappointing. The first one that I called, there name being 24\\7,we figured we could get a response on the weekend when our air conditiioner went out. 6 calls and 3 days later still never received a call back. Then, they sent another contractor out that apparently went onto our roof and claims they did the work but we have not seen a work order or for that fact never saw this contractor at our house but has called me up to 6 x a day wanting their $45.00 deductible. I am leaving this to my husband to handle today.
I never really bash a company but now I am looking for a new warranty company because of having major issues with this company for over two years. It has cost me more to have the company than not to have them! My worst episode was when my A/C went out on my rental property on a Thursday while it was 102 degrees outside and when the technician diagnosed the problem on Friday there was no answer. They were open for customer service calls but there was no one there who could approve the work to be done until Monday my tenants in the sweltering heat so I gave the technician the approval to repair/replace the unit after reading my contract and determining that they should/would provide funding. I submitted 3 different reimbursement requests and all three were denied (which I had to call in to find out the status and never received anything in writing)! They gave me two different reasons…they asked me to produce paperwork for maintenance for the life of the unit (which I did not have)….and stated that I needed approval for the work done. I am still digusted that a warranty company does not provide approvals for emergencies during the weekend and expects you to endure whatever is wrong until they come back to work!!
It has been over 3 months and I am still trying to have my garage door opener fixed. We had a tech ready to do the work but he stopped work because he stated that he has not received payment for other work that they have approved.

I\’m very happy with choice home warranty! My water heater went out and the technician came by and fixed the heating elements. Not a day went by and the water heater was out again. I called and the tech came out and said it was not repairable it would have to be replaced. He came by and installed the new one the next day and now I have hot water again. All for 1 service fee! Very happy and would recommend them to friends/family.

I have two policies with Choice Home Warranty. I had to use it for the 1st time on my rental home because the water heater was leaking. The call was made on Oct 11, 2010, Columbus Day ( a Federal Holiday). Within 4 hours from calling a plumber came out to the house and determined that the water heater had a faulty pressure valve. He replaced it and my renters were very satisfied with the promptness and professionalism of both Choice Home Warranty and the contracted Plumber selected by choice Home Warranty. My service was much easier and faster than my former warranty company.
RECENTLY ON 10/7/10 I CALLED FOR WATER LEAK RECEIVED DIAGNOSIS AND WAS FIXED THE VERY NEXT DAY AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE.

I purchased home warranty from this company 03/24/2010 acct# 562690332 and have been paying $36.50 per month since. I filed a claim on 10/11/10 for my garage door opener. A service guy came out on 10/13/10 and agreed with Genie who I had called that the problem was the main control board in the garage door opener. In the agreement it states for garage door opener, included: All components and parts, except, garage doors, hinges, springs, sensors, chains, travelers, tracks, rollers, remote receiving and/or transmitting devices.
Choice home warranty is now telling me they will not cover this because it’s the part of the main control board that receives the signal. It has nothing to do with the remote it’s the main control board inside the unit. Genie Company that I talked to said this is the only component that controls the entire function of the unit. I have also paid the Service Company that came out $45.00 and now he won’t return my calls.
I explained not only to Choice Home Warranty but the repair guy what was wrong, no one once said anything about not being covered. Even had part # to be repaired. Service guy came out and said he’d be back next day to install brand new opener. Haven’t heard from him since. But took my check and cashed it. Check there ratings anywhere. Good service companies won’t work for them. They have 228 complaints at the BBB of New Jersey. Any one that would sign up with this company is a complete idiot. You will get ripped off. Do your homework and go elsewhere fast.
I called in for a claim and 2 days later my problem was fixed.
I called Choice home warranty to repair my refrigerator. The tech the sent determined that it needed a new compressor. I was advised by Choice that this was not possible and they sent a different company for a second opinion. This tech advised there was no freon in the compressor which was caused by a leak. I spoke with a manager of the second company and after a long discussion he advised there was no way any one could tell if there was freon in the compressor because it was a sealed system. It involved cutting to determin if there was actually freon in the compressor which had not been done by his tech or the previous one. After days of arguing Choice agreed to send the original repair company back out. Turns out there was freon in the compressor. The compresson was changed the refrigetor still didn’t work. 2 months later the tech decided the unit is not irreparable. Choices’ stand is that it is a freon related problem and they do not cover freon related problems of any type. My refrigerator will not be repaired or replaced. Speaking with the customer service represenatives was the worse part of the entire ordeal. I was very displeased with the service I received from Choice Home Warranty.
This company is ridicuolous, they find any reason to deny a claim. I am looking into how to report a fraud because this is what this company is doing. They claim total coverage but when you read the fine print they actually cover nothing.
I’ve filed five different claims with Choice. Only one has been paid. The latest was my pool heater (which is covered under the policy.) I paid $60 to have them tell me the control board is not covered.
One claim, I filed on a Friday afternoon – a water leak – and tried all that evening and Saturday to contact them and could not reach anyone. I finally reached someone who was with the answering service and explained my situation. She suggested I get someone to fix the problem and get reimbursement from Choice. I did do this, and Choice would not pay.
I just moved into this house in February, and the seller paid for the home warranty. I chose Choice based on their reviews, and really regret it now. I will definitely not renew with them – it is a total waste of money.
Beware. This warranty company has a reputation of not payong their subcontractors. We completed roof repairs for them on two separte projects and cannot get paid. They are a scam!
Beware of Choice Home Warranty. We have called in 2 claims for the entire service year both claims were rejected. Our oven panel was not working properly, a technician came & send a report with rust in panel. The oven was 11 years old & it was probably end of life. The warranty does not cover rust & Choice did nothing for the claim. We paid the tech $45.
The second claim was for our A/C & heating unit. We had service records for only 2 years which we send to them. In general they will find any excuse to reject the claim & you always end up paying the tech $45. We had to call & check status for 3 days without heating service & finally they rejected the calim.
The customer service is extremely rude & when I told them not to call or email me again for renewal, the customer rep asked me what I would do if they called up….
Ed from Ed\’s Appliance Repair was the most knowledgeable and professional repairman I have ever experienced. Because the part he replaced initially was faulty, he returned again and again until he was satisfied that the repair was complete. We recommend him and his company as highly as possible.

I enrolled with this company recently and after about 40 days of enrolling I had trouble with my cloth dryer and call the company. They opened a ticket and told that a tech will call me and gave their number to call if no one calls me. After waiting for some times I called the tech companied number and when he asked the Insurance company name they told me thay he did not get paid for what ever the work he did in the past and he cannot come. Then I called the company back and some how after 2 days a tech came and checked and told a part needs to be replaced and will be back. No one came for 3 days and I called the company and I was told the claim is denied and the reason is they are asuming that I had the issue for some times. The service is bad and even the communication is bad. I already paid for two months and I cancelled the policy and nothing was refunded to me. I dont recommend any one to join this company as they are not reliable. Beware of Homce Choice Warranty.
I called in my problem on a Sunday. I had bad fillings when I was not called back in 1/2 hour. I was called the next day and the repair man said he would be at my house befor noon. He arrived at about 11:00 o\’clock, repaired the gas stove and was gone befor noon.
I am still surprised at just how easy it was to place a claim. The company that came out was professional and had my dishwasher working in under 30 minutes. Having a home Warrenty thru Choice, was a great decision!

I just finished with my first claim, and it couldn\’t have gone smoother. No wait time when I called, the contractor called me in less than 30 minutes, Choice called me back the next day to confirm that the contractor had contacted me. My dishwasher issue was fixed in 30 minutes, and I couldn\’t be happier.
I had a problem with my electric dryer not heating. I went to the CHW website and put in a claim at 8:15 am. By 10:00 I was put in touch with a repairman. By 5:45 pm, my dryer was diagnosed and fixed. An EXCELLENT overall experience.

We called 2 times last night and 2 times this morning to TRY to get someone to come out and fix the heater. I have 3 small children and it is currently 59 in the house and Choice Home Warrenty dosent see this as an emergency. They informed us that because of the holiday weekend they were going to have to continue to give us numbers until we found someone open and WILLING to come out. Did I mention 3 kids in a 59 degree house?! We are NOT happyand WILL be getting a new home warrenty company.
Having Choice Home Warranty has been great. When you call to make a claim its as if the person on the other end personally knows you and goes above and beyond every time. Customer service is outstanding. They are prompt, polite, very helpful and quick to help with your claim. The technicians are outstanding as well. They are on time if not early, polite, easy going and friendly and they get the job done. Problem fixed. This is my first year of having the warranty its been a great experience and will continue to use them. If you are looking for a little added protection for your home Choice Home Warranty is the best way to go..

my wife had signed up with this choice home warranty company to be a hvac repair contractor .we was told they had tons of work…. well 3 months later we recieved our first call. contacted the homeowner as we were suppose to . set up an appointment. the next day we made the repair for choice. submitted the paper work etc., just like they had asked us to do…the whole total for the choice bill was a whole $60.long and behold 2.5 months later ,after 8-10 phone calls… 5-10 emails and still nothing…i sent a email with a lien warning out to choice. yea its a whole $60 dollars right , but if they wont pay $60. who or how many people they have done this too it adds up. finally i recieved a phone call from mr. stanley goodspeed & guess what the excuse was..they didnt have all my paper work on my ac company..if this is true why the heck did they send me out to customers home..i could have been anyone claiming to do ac. well he did my license check, i to tell him the web site & all. and now their sending out my payment. now 3 months & just recived check from these guys and can you guess how much they paid ???? $40.00 ,its $20 dollars shy but still , the price was my price, he ok’d it to me by phone and still shorted me on purpose…..homeowners and contractors watch out for this home warranty co. i would not use them, will not do any more work for them, nor would i recommend them not even to my worst enemy….and mr. goodspeed buy yourself a damn good lunch or dinner on my behalf.. and have a very merry christmas to you & all your ripp-off staff & company members you guys are running over there….a very upset , honest ac company trying to make an honest buck in this great economy we are in, while supporting two beautiful young girls…………merry x-mas to all you contractors & homeowners that this helps & good luck if you do use them…maybe they will pay you half, or get half the job done ……….
I called Wednesday,11/24/2010, @11am because my sink was full and overflowing into my washing machine and all over the floor and smelled like a sewer. I was given 1 company info, called and was told they couldnt get to me before friday.Called Choice back to get another name, called the company, they said they could come today just had to wait for the refferal. After 3 hours and 4 calls later, I couldnt get them to answer the phone, just voice mail. Called Choice a 3rd time, got another company, cant get to me before friday. Called Choice a 4th time and was told by the rep that I shouldnt have waited to last minute to call and since its 430pm and the day before Thanksgiving I’d just have to wait til friday. Pissed off, but w/ no choice I waited. Saturday ,morning I called Choice because I never heard back from the 3rd company and got another name. This company doesnt work weekends. Called Choice back now for the 6th time, got another company, left a message and as of Sunday 11/28/2010, I have yet to hear from any company. 1st off Choice is only open 24hrs for new claims not for existing claims and 2nd what warranty company only recommends companies who only work M-F,8-5 and no holidays? I’m sorry I didnt schedule my back up sooner!

I bought warranty from this company on october 2009. i have original contract term 11/15/2009 – 12/15/2010. i called for service on nov. 26 and was told the agreement expired on 11/20/2010 of which they did not proveded any evidence. They just told me the contract has been revised and did not give me any evidence of change of contract made at the beginning. I got email that the contract was going to expire by nov 20, 2010 which i could not rely on. Relying on the original contract i missed my service period. They should have sent me the revised original contract at the effective date and now but just told me it is expired. i really want to hear the information that somebody has taken this company to court.
The dealing with last customer representative was very unprofessional and rude on the phone. They asked to email and fax my contract but did not sent me their revised contract if it was there. I don’t want to renew my contract for such unprofessional services.
Please don’t buy Choice Home Warranty. Yes its cheap. Rude people and poor customer service. For people who live in California. No one available after 3:00 pm to approve work order if repair is over 100.00 needs to get approval. I’ve have called phone lines are down or busy. Fridays no one is available after 12:00 pm. They have very few qualify service contractors and the ones they have are not any good. Very poor english and want to repair items that are more out of pocket expense. I’ve been allowed to use local contractors. Because of the contractors not coming or calling. They not in a hurry to come out. Well emergencies happen. GOOD LUCK. Choice HOme Warranty wants cheap labor. I’ve been allowed to use local companies because of the problems and it took me about 2-3 months to get paid. Johnathon Busby and Ashley are the people to be careful with. Their in the Authorize Dept they have. Denied some of my repairs. To be spiteful because I’ve been soo uspest with this company. Still have to pay the service feel. I’ve read the contract, should of be covered. Faucet leaking denied/ toilet? Good luck if you want to pay this low grade company and that’s being nice.
Our 22 year old garage door opener was replaced. Company called was Garage Doors for Less. They inspected the old opener, got approval from Choice Home Warranty for a new one and replaced the opener the next day!
CHW folks follow up on all service calls. When things with contractors did not go well, CHW called the contractors and worked out the issues. CHW is better than my last warranty company.

The customer service reps we spoke with were very helpful and friendly. The company that we were refered to responded promptly and although it took them two visits to fix the problem (or hopefully fix it we will see what happens tonight) they were also friendly and worked with our schedule.

It was a little difficult to get some one out to the property, and the plumber will be back next week to fix the leak.
For the first time since owning a home, and having a policy with a different company, we simply called with our problem and the next day, it was fixed. No arguing or pleading, just fixed. We saved over $200 by having our policy and I\’m sure glad we did, since it\’s the holidays!
I called in to get my out of service wine cooler to be fixed. I was pleasantly surprsied with the quick response and speedy fix. The repair man was very helpful and polite too.
Our gas oven stopped heating and I contacted Choice Home Warranty to place a claim. Within an hour of placing the claim, I was contacted by a service person who came out within 48 hours to fix the oven. I felt the service both by Choice Home Warranty and the service person that came out was exceptional.
I called the choice home warranty when I had a shower leak in my bathroom. I was assigned a plumber who did the repair the next day and was very curteous. I am very happy with the service I recieved from Choice HW
The technician came out in June 2010, repaired the problem and all is fine. All is fine except that the technician has not been paid by Choice Home Warranty. I have called regularly but if I actually do speak with a live person, all they will tell me is that it is of no concern to me if they don’t pay the technician! It is of concern to me if you live in a small town and need to get additional work done. I finally turned this over to the local TV station, but even they can’t get a straight answer from this group.
This company is a joke. They will find or assume any cause, pre-existing condition or lack of maintenance not to cover the repair per the limitations in the contract. The contract is so well done in their favor that most common things that may go wrong with your appliances will not be covered. Besides giving me the pre-existing condition and lack of maintenance not to cover my repairs I was told since I had only been with the policy for two months I could not be covered, if my policy would have been much older it could have been a different story. Save your money and headaches shop some place else. No wonder the BBB (New Jersey) gives then and “F” rating.
Do not purchase from this home warranty company, they have terrible customer service and are extremely rude. Buyer beware, they will not honor their promises.
I am a plumbing contractor from new jersey this company is the worst i have 2 jobs i did for them tottally $110 that they have not paid since july sent them several faxes and called. they dont even call you back hopefully if the word gets out about them no contractor will work for them and put them out of business. i have filed complaints with both consumer affairs and the bbb.

I have been paying them for 4 years, and when I need them to fix the AC system, the technician says that the OUTSIDE COIL has to be cleaned and it is not covered!!!
I payed myself and clean the coil and problem didn’t go away, and Choice refused to send another technician.
They have created so many loopholes in their contract. They only address cheap, easy items and collect the visit-money.

First thing I wanted to say is this is the fastest service I have ever received. Filled out a service request online on Fri. received a reply the next day. Called the repair place that Mon. and within hours they were out at our house and the problem was fixed and everything was done by lunch time. Amazing Thank you guys.
From the moment I called Choice I was extremly please with your service. My washer had gone out and we have 2 small kids. You know how they clothes. within 24 hours I was given the choice of taking what it would cost to fix it and get a new washer or fix the old one. It was not a hard choice. First claim that I have made with this company was for a pool pump that has quit working. Choice Home Warranty is rejecting it stating that it is a pre-existing condition. How could this be a pre-existing condition when the pool was just working fine the other day before I made the claim? I would not use this company due to there poor customer service and there intention on rejecting valid claims.
Choice Home Warranty is a really horrible company. You will regret every having purchased a “warranty” from them. They are in the business of collecting your money and not following through with their end of the deal, home repairs.
They will make every excuse in the book not to fill your claim, paper work, poor repair guys, payments, and whatever they can think of at the time. They must have a list they go through to try and deny your claim.
They twice have not followed through with what is in the written contract agreement: filling claims after 30 days, and fixing my pool when I had purchased the additional pool coverage.
I am filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and considering a small claims law suite.
Save your self the time, headache, anguish, phone calls, yelling, and literally being robbed of your money.

They gave quote over the for full coverage. When contract arrived it didn’t cover the AC–I called to cancel and they refused to do so. I sent the package back with a letter of cancellation. They still didn’t refund, my credit card company Chase was good to give me a full refund!! Today I see they issued a refund but are trying to charge a $50 fee!! Don’t give this crooked company your credit card number!!! After my checking further I see this company has endless complaints filed against it. Don’t do business with this company!!!!
If everthing in life was as simple as getting things fixed as it has been with you life would be great. The company came in a timely manner and fixed my repair. They were very friendly and I would be happy to have them again if the need should ever come up, The staff at Choice are extremly good at their job, as a customer I am very happy with the severice I get.

I have had your home warranty for two years. First year I used once and was pleased with how quickly they came to look at the pool and resolved the problem immediately and called back to confirm my satisfaction. In November of this year I had a problem with a light going on in our guest bedroom. It took a few days for someone to call about setting up an appointment. When someone came, he was very courteous and pleasant. Ordered a new part for the remote. Came back in a week or so, fixed the problem but the same thing happened again within a few hours. Called, he came again, again courteous, did some adjustments and within a few hours the light and fan came on again. Never called again and was disappointed that no one called to follow up. We still have the problem. Not happy with how it was handled and the follow-up was non-existent!
I had a plumbing experience emailed choice home warranty on Wednesday December 15, 2010 got an email from them the same day with a name and phone # of the service tech. Fast and great svc. I really appreciate the prompt response to my issue.
Service was prompt and the staff is friendly and professional.
All calls handled promptly. Service technicians followed thru with repairs.
CHW also followed up for feedback (which is a rarity for this type of industry). Very reasonable service fee. I have recommended several persons, and they are all happy with CHW.
Coming back from vacation found 2 problems:
01. Heater blower fan won’t stop after reaching the temperature set in the thermostat
02. Washer makes loud screeching noise in spin cycle.
I went on to Choice Home Warranty website and created online repair request. Called choice home warranty’s number and talked to a person as well.
01. Heater blower fan relay got stuck and diagnosed and replaced by Atlantic AC.
02. D C Services came to check the washer after cancelling 3 appointments. After that night the washer did not make that loud noise anymore and I informed David (D C Service) about it. He insisted to come over and look at it.
David looked at the machine with a flash light while the washer was in spin cycle. He did not open the washer and did not get any tool out of his tool box besides the flash light. He came to conclusion that the bearing is bad. I informed him that the whole washer drum (outer shell and inside stainless steal drum) was replaced in April – May of this year. He continued that gasket needs to be replaced, belt need to be replaced. He continued to mention that this is going to be a lot of work.
At the end when he asked for the trip fee he asked for $48.31 instead of $45.00 trip fee set by Choice Home Warranty. He mentioned that the extra is the tax and if I don’t pay he will simply charge Choice Home Warranty for it.
I have dealt with Home Warranty companies for the past 15 years and never had anyone ask for payment more than the set amount and describing it as tax. I’m planning to report this to the Attorney General, Greg Abbot (Texas).
Choice Home Warranty calls to see if the repair person came by. I advised that David from D C Service came by the day before. Choice then contacted him and left a message to call Choice. Situation worsens as I call back Choice. John, Troy and then Mike mentions that this problem with the washer is not covered as the technician reported there are a lot of things wrong with the washer and couldn’t have within 7 days from the start date of the contract/warranty. Useful information here that I had to fax in my proof of coverage from my previous warranty company where the coverage ended on 12/7/2010 and only then Choice picked up the coverage from that date without the 30 day waiting period.
I Called D C Service and talked to David. David mentions that he did not tell Choice Home Warranty that it was caused by previous repair. Choice made the decision on their own. I called Choice Home Warranty and was told by Mike that they have covered 1 issue with my Heater and now there is another issue with the washer and kept on saying that within 7 days of the warranty date these problems arising is not normal and they can not cover the washer. I informed about the conversation I had with the technician and advised that the complete drum assembly was replaced by certified technicians from SEARS. I asked him to get a second opinion from another technician about the washer. He denied by saying the person that already did the diagnosis is certified and I can have someone else diagnose the problem and get a second opinion.
It gets even worse. Mike agreed that if another technician looks at the washer and his diagnosis is not like D C Service he will pay for the service call. I then asked for another repair company’s name from Mike. Mike provided Jay’s All Purpose and their phone number. I called Jay’s All Purpose and talked to Jay. He came over within an hour and looked at the washer by opening the cover and physically inspecting the drum assembly, motor, shocks, counter weights and struts. He diagnosed the problem to be the shaft on the motor. He added that since the shaft comes with the motor assembly the motor has to be replaced.
So, only thing that has to be replaced is the motor. It is not the bearing, gasket, boot and many other things as the other technician from D C Service diagnosed just by shining his flash light into the washer drum.
I called Choice and talked to Mike. Technician explained that only thing that needs to be replaced is just the motor and it has nothing to do with the previous repair. Mike asked how much would it cost. Jay replied by saying possibly $100.00 for the motor and $100.00 for his labor.
At this point I asked Mike how can get my $40.00 service call fee that I just paid Jay’s All Purpose repair person he explained I’d need to submit an invoice and his manager will consider. I asked him about the repair work. He said that I can go ahead and have the repair work done and then submit the invoice and he will ask his manager to consider. I clearly asked him to make sure I understood correctly that there is a chance that it could be denied.
So, I think for now I’ll submit the invoice from Jay’s All Purpose second opinion cost and wait for the reimbursement.
In between I was so upset that I wanted to cancel the contract that I signed up for ($967.50 for 3 years). I was told there is a $50 cancellation fee which I was not told of at the time I purchased the contract over the phone with Alex and I am 100% confident that if Choice reviews the recorded conversation with Alex they will find out I am correct. There is a reason I have purchased this warranty. I could be away from home in 2011 for military.
So, now I am being told by Mike at Choice that I am filing too many claims and things could not have gone bad within 7 days of the contract start date. My understanding is for the same reason, Choice Home verified proof of previous coverage. Why am I being talked down to, why were they so nice when they sold me the contract for almost a thousand dollars and now changing the tone? Why am I not getting the repair work done when I have paid the $45 service call fee and also the $40 second service call (total $90.00 for this issue already)? Why?
Our washing machine broke as we were leaving for the week-end on a Friday morning. We called Choice from our car, they sent our service request to the correct serviceman, he called us back in about an hour and was at our home first thing Monday morning. (He would have come Saturday if we were home.) The machine was fixed by 10 AM Monday morning. You could not ask for better service!
The CHW staff were super friendly and immediately found a great repairman to fix my stove. The repair took less than an hour – no hassles!!! THANKS CHW!!!!!

This being the first time using my warranty I will keep these people on standby when I need them. My garage door stopped working and they sent someone out that same day and had it done within a day.I thought the garage opener could be fixed but it had to be replaced and they had no problem with it. Upon calling Choice referred me to a not so good company. I requested a different company and the change was made without any problems. I have no complaints on this service
We purchased our home one year ago. Our central heat system worked perfectly, but stopped working. We contacted Choice Home Warranty (CHW). A technician came (for which we paid a service call fee) and the determined the problem was an electrical board. But the technician advised us CHW would not approve the repair. We were informed by CHW that we would need to provide “maintanance records”. We told CHW that we had owned the home for for only a year and had no maintanance records and further that the damaged board was not a component that routine maintanance would prevent from failure. Nonetheless, CHW would not approve without maintanance records.
Since most home owners would likely not keep home furnace mantanance records, in spite of being listed as one of the systems coverage by the CHW contract, malfuntions of such ayystems would likely not be covered… buyers beware!
I Feel very good knowing that i have Choice home warranty as my coverage. When every something tears up i know that i can get it fixed at anytime because they are just a phone call away.

I looked at the reviews exactly here and got choice home warranty for my house and regret it so much. First claim I made was for my A/C unit, water dripping from secondary drain, a man came in, and said our A/C was about 30 years old (By the way my house is only 10 yrs old unless the A/C unit was sitting there before the house was built
and was recently inspected by a certified home inspecter few months back when we bought the house) and needs the entire unit replaced which choice home said they wont cover it without any proper reasons, then i got it fixed by another person on my own expense and it cost me around $50 which was just some dust clogged in the primary drain.
Second claim was for a clogged toilet, for which they had me call and schedule, finally they never show up nor a single call. I called both home choice and CPR service they provided they said they are coming, no response still, so again i called and now they say they will be coming tomorrow. I am going to get it fixed by myself. Worst service, and great cheaters.
i reported furnace problem to choice on 12-25 in the afternoon.i spoke to the selected contractor that evening and he scheduled a visit for the following morning.he arrived and almost immediately isolated the problem to the ignition control module.this is not a part that is carried by the contractor.the contractor attempted to contact choice for authorization to proceed with repair but was unable to reach choice until tuesday 28 december when they acquired the part and made the repair.i assume that you are unreachable by the contractor on sunday and that you were unreachable on monday because of the major snowstorm that hit the northeast.my wife and i did experience cold temperatures in the house during this period but we are very thankful for the effort put forth by choice and the contractor to repair our furnace through the weekend and snowstorm.might it be possible for you to consider allowing contractors to effect repairs if it is not possible to contact you on weekends or during snowstorms,etc?or is there an alternative communication link that can be used to obtain your approval during these times?thank you again for your assistance in resolving our problem.
At first I was a bit concerned about Choice based on my latest experience. I was assigned a technician that just did not do a good job of communicating with me. When I informed Choice, they interceded for me, but also allowed me to pick a plumber myself to do the job. I picked a plumber I was familiar with and the work was finished promptly and correctly. I was impressed with Choice\’s commitment to my complete satisfaction.
On 12-28-2010 called John Busby 1-888-531-5403 ext 8244 with Choice Home Warranty. I filed the claim two days ago. They asked for maintenance records, faxed the and they still refused to pay for the claim. Choice Home Warranty refused to cover my claim. I would think twice before using this type of service. You can file a complaint with the federal trade commission on the Internet. The New Jersey attorneys General office informed me that they have had 43 complaints against this company.
This company is extremely unethical – DO NOT BUY THEIR WARRANTY. For the past 5 years i have had my A/C Serviced on a bi-annual basis. Recently the compressor on the A/C went out. The serviceman that Choice sent out said the unit looked like it has been maintained and was not neglected. Choice asked me to send proof that the unit had been serviced on a regular basis for the last 3 years. I sent them 6 invoices which proved the unit was maintained every 6 months for the past 3 years – Choice rejected the claim with no legitiment explaination. I asked them to cancel the policy and return the premium and they gave me double talk about how they would send me a claim form that needed to be signed and that Choice needed to agree with the cancelation – no form was every sent. Save yourself a horrible experience -DO NOT GET A HOME WARRANTY FROM THIS CHOICE.

Choice Home Warantty is really Scammers company. they are only here to collect money. I took this warantty last year and made a horrible mistake. after a control board problem occur in my A/C and they did,nt replace it. when i keep on calling a person called at my home phone and told me in threatning voice that we dont care your problem at all, do what so ever you can do. I filed a complaint with BBB and Manager was not able to resolve that issue and he was keep on saying You can cancel your warantty, and we will give you $25. Folks …they are scammers.. Be aware of that.
My experience with the person that took the claim and the technician that came to service my unit was great and fast. Out of the companies I have had before, I have never been able to call in a service call and get it fixed all in the same days. You have them beat hands down. I called to report no heat. The company gave me a number to call and I did so immediately. It was 28 degrees outside and I have elderly parents and a 4 month old in the house. I had to leave a message because they don’t answer the phone. They did not call back. I waited 4 days and had to call a private company. They came in 2 hours and fixed it. Stay away from Choice Home Warranty!
This was my first claim with Choice warranty and I was very pleased with the service I received from Choice and the service contractor that was assigned to my repair.
as far as I’m concerned this company is a fraud and should be reported to state Atty. Gen.’s office. in the frigid Minnesota winter when my heating system stopped working there office was closed on Saturday so we could not opting authorization to fix the problem. On Monday when the technician finally showed up and informed the company that the Blower motor had to be replaced, first they said that they had to send the claim to the review committee, which at this time I knew the old trek is going to surface that you’re going to try to find something in the contract that would prevent the payment of the claim. surely the callback after an hour and said that we had to submit the entire history of the units maintenance records. In my opinion this is preposterous and only a fraudulent way of not paying for legitimate claim. I canceled my contract with them and I would strongly suggest that you go with American home Shield. I have been with them for a number of years for different property and only last year decided to try this company since they were slightly cheaper. This only goes to prove you get what you pay for.

I have used them more than couple of times. and always I get a quick and professional response. So far I feel they work with highly skilled and professional contractors.
Choice home warranty (CHW) will not honor their coverage:
1. Purchased policy with new home
2. 6 weeks in the oil boiler dies
3. CHW asks for history of maintenance records; notwithstanding maintained by previous owner.
4. I provide and am informed the claim cannot move forward because records aren’t the “hand written invoice” distributed at time of service. NOTE: the previous owner is deceased (home purchased via estate sale); the maintenance company provided records to CHW.
5. CHW requests home inspection report, I provide
6. Claim denied because inspection report, indicating boiler is functioning properly but notes “boiler is older than 20 years old, expect to be replaced.”
7. Supervisor could not see difference between “something that needed to be replaced soon (though working)” and “must be replaced (because not working)”. Accuses me of taking out a policy with CHW knowing that there may be a problem with the boiler. In other words, insurance fraud.
Do not buy a policy with this company. I will be requesting a pro-rated refund for the rest of the policy.
I have had CHW for a little over a year now. I am very glad I went with CHW since I have had 2-3 claims since which CHW addressed pretty quickly. Sometimes its all abt the service provider CHW is very flexible to send the claim to a specific provider which helps homeowners build on pror experiences.
WHEN I HAVE A PROBLEM I CALL HOME WARRANTEE AND THEY GET RIGHT ON TO THE PROBLEM AND DON\’T TAKE LONG BEFORE THEY CALL ME WITH A PHONE CALL TO A TECHNICIAN TO DO THE WORK.
This company is horrible to work with. Representatives are rude and not helpful. Countless times I was placed on hold for someone that could assist me only to wait for 5+ plus minutes and end up being transferred to voicemail. Voicemail call back requests are not honored and their response time to issues is horrible.

My first claim with CHW overall went very well. Opening my case was fast and easy by calling the toll free number. We did encounter a couple of problems with the contract assigned to my case. The phone number provide to schedule my appointment was disconnected. After calling back they provided me with a new contractor and phone number and when I called to schedule my appointment the contractor said he was not in the CHW system as an agent and could not come out until that was corrected. I did receive two follow up calls from the service rep and I told them about the problem and they said it had been corrected and a work order had been issued to the contractor and that I could call him back to schedule my appointment. When I did call back he said he still had not received the work order and hoped I understood that he could not come out until that was corrected as he might not get paid. The next day I received a call from another contractor saying he was on his way and wanted to make sure we were home. He figured out what was wrong with our oven and said he would have to order a part and that it would be in about 3-4 days. Two days later I received a call from the original contractor saying he had finally received his work order and wanted to schedule an appointment. I had to inform him that another service contract had already been out to fix our oven. We received a call from the contractor that our part had come in and could be out in 20 minutes to install. The repair was quick and the oven is now working. The CHW warranty covered the repair and we are very happy. The overall experience was good except for the confusion with scheduling the contract. The customer service was excellent with follow up calls.
I had a problem with my refrigerator,called CHW and it was handled efficently by the warrenty company and the repair service. I was well pleased and so glad that I switched to this company.
The service rep that CHW final got to come over and fix our washer was very courteous, efficient and thorough and cleaned after himself. He explained exactly what had broken on the washer.
We had our washing machine break. They agreed to replace because the repairman said it was too expensive to fix and would be cheaper to purchase through Choice Home Warranty. After two weeks of attempting to contact their claims department, of which 95% of the time the number doesn’t work they finally agreed to pay $350 toward the purchase of a new machine. We asked them where they came up with that cost and they said “that is just what we are agreeing to pay”. This was a high end machine that cost just under $1000 new, but they said they will not cover more than the $350. After three weeks they found one on line that would cost $327 after a $300 rebate was deducted but they charge $189 to ship the machine. We found a washing machine at Lowes that cost $399 (very inexpensive for a washing machine) but they are refusing to pay any more than the $350. I am a realtor and I sell Home Warranties with my closings and have never heard of any negative feedback until I started working with this company. It is a scam, and I would highly recommend not using them EVER!
I have had nothing but positive experiences with Choice Home Warranty. They are extremely attentive to the requests for service and make every effort to insure problems are addressed. They follow up every service call with a professional agent making sure we are satified. I have and will continue to recommend friends and family to consider Choice Home Warranty when choosing a service provider.
I called to inquire and already felt that their sales people were aggressive with trying to sell you a contract over the phone. Instead of taking time to ask me my questions, they seemed to be more in a hurry to get going with a contract. They also told me that there is no limit on how much they will pay if a certain appliance goes bad and cannot be repaired. They said, “in that case, we will replace the appliance with the exact same one” (quote / unquote). Customer reviews posted here seems to indicate otherwise (seems like some customers were hassled and not paid enough). So, now , I am not sure if I want to believe this company or not.
Stay away from this company. They would not replace the power supply board for my heater without long service records. I had to pay ~$300 to get my heater back.
With a month of moving into our new home, our dishwasher broke. I called CHW and filed a claim. Within 30 minutes a appliance repair company called me. We set up a time for a technician to come out the next day to check the dishwasher.
The next day he was on time and verified the part that needed to be replaced. Three days later, the part was in and another technician came to the house to install it.
Ever since, our dishwasher has worked correctly. All of this was done the week of Christmas too.
This company is a SCAM. There will try to find out always some reason to say it is not covered. Terrible customer service!! The company has yet to figure out that there are more than 30 days in a month. The warranty starts 30 days from the time they charge you. In their mind the month of December has 30 days!! The best thing I did was cancel my service with this company. Do not purchase this scam!!

As luck would have it, we had problems with our dryer, refrigerator and dish washer all in the same week. The customer service with Choice Home Warranty made it easy to deal with all the issues. We really liked the service and friendly nature of the contractor who was sent to our home. And the repairs and replacements made all three appliances run smoothly again. We were certainly grateful for our home warranty plan with Choice!
Our garage door opener stopped working so we placed our first claim with Choice Home Warranty. They referred us to a repair company on Saturday, who came out on a Sunday! He diagnosed the problem as being a burned out gear and said we would need a new system. We paid the $45 deductible, and Choice authorized the full amount of the remaining cost to replace the system, including a keypad. A new system was completely installed by Wednesday. We could not be more pleased with our decision to switch home warranty companies to Choice.
I have had several home warrantys. The last onw with AHS but I change to CHW this year and this has been the best experience. My heater stoped working and CHW sent out a repairman the next day. This repairman was the best I have ever been around, he was polite , answered all my questions , cleaned up afetr he did his work. In the past I was always disapointed with these warranties but Choice makes me a believer and the HVAC company far far exceeded my expectations.
I was very satisfied with the Customer Service I received from CHW on my recent claim. I like how CHW immediately sent emails informing me of updates to the claim and assignment of contractors, etc. CHW initially assigned two contractors who do not service oil heating systems, but they were always quick to reassign another contractor. The third contractor was not very good (AA Heating And Air Conditioning, (202) 723-2221 ) … the contractor said he would call me to schedule a time for service and he failed to do so. He also said he would come out for service on two separate days and he never called or appeared. I would recommend that CHW remove this contractor from it\’s list of authorized service providers. CHW was very understanding when I expressed my frustration about my experience with this contractor and the CHW customer service rep. provided me with information about obtaining my own contractor and getting reimbursed by CHW (which is ultimately what I did). She promptly emailed me the forms that I would need so that I could get reimbursed and she explained the authorization process to me. On the day that my contractor came out to provide service, I was able to get through to the authorization department at CHW quickly and upon receiving information from me and the contractor, the CHW authorization technician approved the work without too much hassle. Overall, I am satisfied with the service I received on this claim and happy that I selected CHW as my home warranty provider.
The service CHOICE provided was excellent. CHOICE acted fast to contact the service provider. It then came to fix the heating problem of our house at the date/time as we chose. It was just a wonderful service – A+
I really appreciated this outstanding service. I received the first service call within few minutes after filling my first service request. It was beyond my expectation and received actual service on next day (I was surprised!)
They have authorized buyout of my appliance on the same day.
Also I received multiple follow-up calls. They were knowledgeable, helpful, professional and responded quickly each time I tried to reach them.
Only thing I need to bring their attention that although they authorize for buyout but I was informed that it could take up to 30 days (my expectation was 7-10 days) to receive check by mail.
I recommend Choice Home Warranty as a home owner.

All We can say is thank you much. When our heated went out lete in the day, Choice made all the aragments for a repair man to come to our house. One thig we liked is not haveing to look for and even call someone to come out. Choice Home Warranty made all arragments. The only problem we had was the tech arrived after normal buisness hours and we could not get approval for additional cost so we had to pay differance. On the following buisness day though Choice Home Warranty called to see if every thing was taken care of and made arrangements to repay the differance. I was very pleased with the quick and courteous response provided by Choice Home Warranty and their approved Contractor to diagnose and repair the problems with my furnace.In assuring further customer satisfaction both Choice Home Warranty and the Contractor called the next day after repairs were completed to ensure things were completed to my satisfaction.
This company is a total SCAM. Stay away!! When I signed up the told me specifically that the fixed leaks on garage roofs, which my other company did not, so I signed up. A few days later we had a leak and I called them and told them “leak in my garage”. They said no problem we will send someone out. After the guy when out and gave them the estimate Choice changed their mind. We don’t cover leaks over the garage. What why would they even send someone out if it wasn’t covered. Don’t waist your money. They will flat out LIE to get you in then take you money.
Choice Home Warranty had a tech scheduled within no time. They called the day after to see if we had heard from the tech. Choice worked with us when we had to call another type of vendor out on our own and immediately sent reimbursement forms and instructions on what to do. I\’ve never had a problem with CHW and recommend them for that peace of mind!

My first call to Choice Home Wrranty went very smoothly. The repair person they sent was knowledgeable and corrected my issue in a timely fashion as well as being considerate,neat and polite. The follow up was prompt and I was more than satisfied with their service.
This place is ridiculous. I had a plumbing problem and only part of the problem was covered. They preapproved $325 for the part that was covered, but then said they were only going to reimburse me $150 and started to tell me that the covered repair hours must have been used on uncovered repairs because certain things take longer or shorter than my plumber said. They also told me they called my plumber to see how long everything took, so they knew how many billable hours I would be paid back for, but when I called my plumber he said he had never spoken with them. They just flat out lied. The customer service rep, Jon Lesby, was extremely condescending to me, telling me some people just don’t understand. Our plumber was billing out at $65/hour so there’s no way that would even add up to $150 unless they started paying weird fractional hours. I can’t wait until my contact expires!!! This place is clearly a small sketchy operation. STAY AWAY!!
I received confirmation of my claim on December 27, 2010. Due to the New Years holiday weekend, the repairman came on on January 3, 2011. I didn\’t hear anything for over two weeks after he left to order parts saying he be back in 2 or 3 days. I contacted Choice Home Warranty and they said they would assign another contrator to the claim. The same technician, using a different company name came out, but he said he didn\’t have the instructions for installing the part that were suppose to be in the box. After he left, I found the printed instructions on the kitchen counter where he must have set them down after he opened the box the part was in and emoved the instructions. I called him and told him that. He made an appointment to come back a day or two later. It got late and he showed up at about 8:00 PM. But he didn\’t have the parts. He had pulled them that morning, but left them sitting out in his shop and they were not on his truck. He said he\’d be back the next day. That was over two weeks ago and I haven\’t heard fom anyone since.
So…YOU tell Me…wadda \’ya think of Choice Home Warranty? (Which auto debited the monthly premiums on Jan 1 and Feb 1, 2011 while I\’m still waiting!)
Our septic pump went out on Wednesday and we have been serviced by 3 different Jons’ in the company. When I first called in they assigned me to a company that would not come out because Choice home warranty never paid him for the last job he did for them. I called back to tell them of this and was advised to go ahead and make a call and see if there was a company locally that would take a look at it or schedule an appointment for first thing next day. Then we were to call at 0900 and get the authorization. There were 3 family members calling and all 3 on hold for over 45 minutes. The day got even worse and we finally talked to Jonathan # 1 who told my daughter-in-law to call the 2nd company and when the tech finished his assessmnet to call them for authorization for repair. This was about noon on Thursday. Again the tech, my daughter in law and my self tried for 2 hours to get thru and get the authorization and the techs finally had to leave they are now billing me for 2 hours of their time= $500.00. Then my husband calls at 0600 Hawaii time and talks to Jon # 2 and he is all apologetic and wants to make things right so he enters another claim and another tech was assigned. When I heard nothing I called back only to find that claim had been entered wrong and most of their offices were closed. I tried for 2 hours to get thru to this customer service person. It was 2:30pm now, I get Jon #3 on the phone and he places an urgent request into authorizations and tells me I will get a call back shortly and promises me i will receive the call before evening. I call back 1.5 hours later to find that all offices are closed and no one can authorize for service until Monday. I paid to have wells empty at 415.00 and because it is without a pump I will have to pay again before Monday. I will not have access to showers,commodes or washer. We are having to drive 15 minutes up the road to go to the restrooms and can’t bathe here either.

I was having problems with my dryer and the first company Choice set me up with would not work with me around my work schedule, so Choice set me up with a different company that would. They were nice to work with, and the process went quick.
This company is as CORRUPT as they come! The day I received my misrepresented contract I called to cancel it, they refused and said I would have to send a letter, they refused to cancel until I used one of their forms. My Chase credit card company withheld funds so they refunded, but kept $50.00 saying I signed a form approving this fee. What a lie!! they took my form that I faxed to them, then cut and pasted to show I had agreed, they cut out the original paragraph above my signature and inserted a new one, then they deleted the paragraph I wrote under my name!!! They sent this falsified form to credit card company!!! This company is rotten to the core.

We had a great experience!! I called and did not have to stay on line for long at all! The rep helped me right away and she gave me the info I needed. Then I called the the repair company 2 or 3 times with no answer and no call back. So I called CHW back and they gave me another repair company and this one worked out great! The Technician John from Liberty Air was great!! Very knowledgable and professional and fast, he fixed it right away after he got the replacement piece and he explained all what happened and what to do and was very polite and professional. We do like this Liberty company and thanks to CHW for the fast service.
We have had only positive things to say about Choice Home Warranty. Since taking out your warranty we have had to have our dishwasher and microwave appliances replaced and Choice Home Warranty has responded much to our satisfaction. The staff you have are always polite and helpful. Thanks to everyone.
Choice Home Warranty company does not cover anything except very little things where price is very minimal. I will say do not go with this company as a good adviser. Please do not trap in the same situation that I have now.
We are an H.V.A.C. contractor in the Tampa Bay market. We were contracted by these jokers to repair a customer’s a/c. We received approval prior to the repair and they still never paid us. I gave Stanley(their accounting rep) all the info and notes and who we spoke to. I told him that if we don’t collect from him, then we have to collect from the customer and he really didn’t care. As a contractor, getting paid for work performed and signed off on is very difficult. We will never do business with these jokers again. I’m sure that they will find another sucker (contractor) to accept service calls from them.
This company tries super hard to not help customers. They do their best to find loopholes in their contract to avoid doing repairs. On top of that, we shell out the deductible every time something goes wrong.
1. Our a/c broke in the middle of summer. They sent someone to get a quote. Since, the quote was too high, they sent someone else. The second person also quoted a high price for the fix. Then, the company all of a sudden decides to tell us that we haven’t been maintaining our a/c correctly and that they won’t do the repair. If we want to dispute, we would have to go to arbitration.
2. Our built-in microwave went bad, and they decided not to fix it.
3. Our down draft stopped working, and they decided to say it is not a part of the stove, so they didn’t fix that either.
This company is a waste of time and money.
I was happy with the service that I received from the Technician that assigned to handle my claim. The Choice Home Representative informed me of who would be handling my case, how long it would be before I would be contacted by the Tech assigned to my case. I am satisfied with the service that I received from the Warranty company and the Technician that was assigned to my claim. I have recommended Choice Home Warranty to several of my co-worker, the process was fast and convenient.
We called Choice Warranty to replace our policy with AHS Home Warranty in December, when our AHS policy was expiring. My husband made it clear on the phone that we were replacing an existing policy. The operator never asked for any proof of the old policy, but said no problem, we’ll get you set up. They made us wait the 30 days which should not have happened since we had previous coverage. We didn’t realize any of this until our refrigerator broke mid January. They argued that we were not covered yet and that we didn’t send in the required paperwork to prove we had previous coverage. We sent the paperwork, but they didn’t like the “way it was worded” so they refused to cover us until the 30 day wait period was over. Then they told us they would not cover the refrigerator because it broke before our coverage began. We are thoroughly disgusted with the way we were treated so we cancelled our policy with them. To top it all off, they refused to refund the 1st month’s payment and we hadn’t even reached our coverage date yet.
Very impressed with the manner in which claim was set up and handled. First contact person (Kimberly) was friendly, polite, professional and answered my questions. Company they had do the repair (PoolSide, Inc) was also excellent and got back to me within 3 hours of the initial phone call and were out the next day to assess the problem.

I tried to cancel my warranty because this place isa total scam and the told me I had to send a letter. I specifically asked them if there was a form I had to fill out and they said no. Then after they got my letter they said there was a form I had to fill out. This all to delay the cancel so I am out of my 30 days. Also while I was on hold for about 5 min they forgot to put me on hold and I could hear them in the background. All I heard was different people in the background saying we don’t cover that. DON”T. GO HERE!
When the first service provider did not do a good job in fixing the water leak in my house, I contacted CHW who immediately assigned me a different provider, waived the deductible, and called to ensure that I am already in contact with the new service provider. The second service provider did a great job in fixing the water leak. What impressed me most is the speed CHW identifies service providers and the quick availability of the identified service providers to do the work. It is very obvious that CHW cares about their clients and put an effort in ensuring clients\’ satisfaction. This is my second experience using the benefits offered by CHW plan and in both cases I was very satisfied.
On 1/11/11 at night our heating unit stopped working.
Called choice. A claim #4927550 was made and Hughes Appliance was emailed.
I called Hughes several time, no answer. (Hughes called the next day and appolized, he had not turned on his answering equitment.)
my mother in law is in her 90s. My wife and I are in our 70s, with the temperture going into the teens we could not have made it.
i called Cathey Air here in town. he was at a banquet. He left there and word anout 2 hours running down the problem. Fixed it , the heater has never run better.
Called Choice next day said OK, faxed Claim Reimbursement form with copy of bill $170.03. I called Choicethey said recieved fax OK. Few days later I called Accts Payable several times, left message on voice mail. Never recieved call back.
A few days ago I called again seral time left message on voice mail. Same ting. I called customer service explained situation. The contacted A/P this time I got a live person on phone. He cold not find fax? Faxed again. Called him back on his #. Claimed he was not allowed to pay more than 90. Since it was an emergency I asked for 125.He said he would check with surpervison, and promised to call back. Did not recieved a call back.

Again I had to call for assistance from Chooice Home Warranty. As the last time I used you service I had prompt servie and this time you alloud me to do the work and save us even more money. While I was out getting material and other supplies, I just had to spreed the word about your service . I also handed out your number to others so they may see the great service and value you offer. On my first clam for water heater, the support person said that the leakage is not covered. Indeed, it is said in small print in the policy, even if there is a fat checkmark against water heater on their Web page.
It took them one week to respond on my second claim about the furnace motor. They rejected it because they decided that this was a pre-existing problem. I paid myself for repairs and then another problem with furnace happened, control panel this time. They wanted me to prove that I paid for the motor. I faxed them the receipt – they told me it was not readable. Then I sent them three emails with this document. Several times I called them, explained the whole story and heard the same response that they did not receive it. After about a week I contacted the supervise Jonathan Busby, repeated my story, emailed him the document for the fourth time. After about two more weeks of talks with him he decided to call the tech that fixed the motor and diagnosed the second problem (even if he told me that they would assign another tech for diagnostics). After several days I had to call him again (he never calls you back even if he promises to do so) and this time the story was different. First he told me that they do not cover vacant homes (the house is not vacant, I guess it was a shot in the dark), then the problem with control panel existed before and they do not cover it. The whole thing took them three(!) weeks.
Then there was a problem with stove ignition. The tech came, diagnosed the problem, said that he would order the parts and disappeared. After a week the tech called and scheduled the actual repair which took about two weeks.
I understand that I have a pretty unusual number of problems, but CHW service is just laughable. Their only partially true statement is that they provide 24/7 service, but the service means just taking the new claims. The actual repair (when they choose to accept the claim) takes weeks.
called on a Sunday evening and had a repair man on Monday morning. He had to order a pump, came back as promised the next day, found a board was bad and has now ordered the board for installation tomorrow. I could not be more pleased with the professional people at CHW and the repairman they chose. I also called the customer service specialist and he reviewed everything that was covered under my policy. He was very thorough and cared about my questions. They had everything documented and it was correct.
My experiences with Choice Home Warranty have been great. They have exceeded my expectations. The response to my claims are within 24 hours and they follow up to check if an appt has been set up with the contractor. Also, if the contractor is slow to reply Choice Home Warranty sets up a call with another contractor. This service is a must have for any homeowner.
When purchasing this warranty plan I asked for the plan that would cover EVERYTHING, my coverage plan is called the TOTAL PLAN. Guess what? It is not the total plan they supposedly have another one to cover more. So I called about my freezer it started making a loud noise and the icemaker stopped working, they told me my plan didn’t cover the icemaker and they will only come out if it stops working not for a loud noise. This noise that started you can hear throughout the house. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG! So I called about the bathtub, the water won’t drain, well they don’t have a contractor in my area, so I have to wait until next week because they don’t do ANYTHING on the weekends for their customers who don’t have contractors in their area, eventhough my original call was on Wednesday. This is ridiculous. So not happy! This was so not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our Home Choice warranty policy absolutely worked great. We had a problem with our kitchen GE microwave oven which had gone dead on us. We contacted our CHW service dept and they immediately put us in touch with Academy Appliance Service who would take care of our problem. Academy Appliance responded and diagnosed the problem, and coordinated with CHW, the replacement part was ordered and installed within a total of three days from time of original CHW notification. Through out the entire process CHW monitored the service call to assure our problem was being serviced. We are very pleased ! john ortiz
I can honestly say that every experience that I\’ve had with CHW has been a very good one. I\’ve called and they\’ve answered the call each and every time. I\’ve never had to wait to get a technician to my house. They have take care of us time and time again. Thank you CHW for a wonderful experience especially since I didn\’t have a very good one with my last home warranty company.
Don’t ever choice Choice warranty company. They have very bad attitude of customer service.This company is a joke. Their supervisor even treated me badly. I request to service on my heating system. The technician come to my door and ask me for $45, He did not even check the system yet, I said they me call Choice warranty to verify,The customer said we have to put your account inactive because you refused to pay deductible. I have never refused to pay the deductible, they accuse me that I refused to pay. They ask me in order to reactive the account I have to ask the technician to come over my house again and pay $45, but the technician already gone, and I don’t know where he went. So I called choice again, the staff said”I can’t help” You have to call that technician back and pay $45 so we can reactive your account. I call the company again turn out this technician was from another company, not the one assignment me. And The customer service supervisor (JOHN) yelling me keep accuse go on and on. We are still in the process of being fixed but it has all been very painless. I switched to Choice a couple of years ago after using another home warranty service that I was not pleased with. You came highly recommended. The technician you sent to fix my problem has been super nice and professional. He has kept me informed every step of the way which I very much appreciate. Representative was very rude and completely condescending, especially after stating his 10 year experience in the industry. This was a determining factor in me not signing with Choice Home Warranty and not recommending them in the military community whatsoever.
The technician was very professional and he did and fixed the problem right away. It was a cold winter season here this year and our heater went out just druing that time. The company came the day after and we were so happy about it, the tech went to get the pieces, made a few calls for the best price and in a few hours he was finished and all wa sroking again. really good company, I recommend!!!
This is the 2nd Home Insurance Company that I have used in the last 6 years and this the 2nd time that I had to use my insurance to have someone come to work on my Washer and Dryer which I just purchased from Sears and the person that was sent to us is very good from RCC Heating & Cooling, but he is the only company that covers my area where I live. Though he is very good and knowledgeable, but again we will have to wait to see if Choice will approve for the circut boads that need to be replaced and as of today it has been over a week since I first called to have someone come and fix my Dryer. But now I have to wait when and if Choice will approve the problem and then we still have to wait to see when the repairman can get all the parts and then come back to fix my dryer. But in the mean time, I need to get our clothes washed and then I have to go to the Landrymat to dry our clothes and since I am 100% Disabled Veteran, I can not pick up anything heaviver thatn 5 lbs. due to my disability and will cause extense pain and I don\’t have anyone to help me since my two daughters live in West Los Angeles by UCLA where they are students and one is a Professor until she gets here PhD in the next few months.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They ripped me off for $397. I ordered my service and decided to cancel it the next morning. They said I needed to mail a letter (no faxes or emails) and wait. After two weeks of waiting they said they never got the letter. Now they say I can fax a letter which I did. Now I have to wait again. They now inform me that there is a $50 administrative fee per contract to cancel. No other company does this. No other company makes it this hard to cancel. I should have known they were shady when they first started negotiating a better price if I ordered it right then on the phone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM PLACE!

THIS IS MY REAL EXPERIENCE. READ BEFORE YOU TAKE SERVICE. I DON’T OTHER TO SUFFER LIKE ME.
I just want share my experience with Choice home Warranty recently. Please find my list of issues with them just in few days.
- At the time of enrollment they try to over charged and made multiple transactions, got a call from credit card company and I requested them to decline the transactions. What if you don’t get call, you need to go the hassle process
- Absolutely I didn’t get any information about policy for 20 days, after I made repeated calls then they sent policy number via email and then 2 days after info arrive in mail too. This is an example of how poor their service is.
- At the time of enrollment rep promised me that effective date can be current if I show an active policy, I faxed the information but this did not happen. I made 15 calls about this and no use.
With the above all issues I sent the cancellation request in writing and then rep started bargaining to keep me like what about if I only charge half year price for full year an first service call fee. I strongly said please simply cancel. I waited for two weeks for refund. I didn’t get the refund. I called today and they finally refunding but they are charging $50 (administrative fee) + $39 ( 1 month fee). Even though I cancelled service in my first 30 days, they had charged all these. Initially they told me that risk free 30 days.
Based on my personal experience I would recommend you stay out of this company. If the customer service is like this even if something happens you can assume what will happen.

Called your claims number spoke to your rep who put in touch with your contracted vendor in my area for services. The vendor was at myu home within an hour of the call and fixed my problem without delay. They even gave me a call back to make sure everything was working okay, as did your firm. Thanks for the great service.

OK It’s 3 weeks now still NO service, no one has even called to set up appointment. I called Choice home Warranty and they have now hung up on me 2 DAYS IN A ROW. This is thee worst customer service, I have spoke to Kimberly, Troy, Brook and Rachel, I have to say they sound like the same rude person. On top of that I would like to bring the attention to the people leaving good reviews, it does not have the city or state on them, but the bad reviews do. Isn’t that funny when it is supposedly required info and I don’t know of a single person who logs on and repeatedly leaves good reviews. Pay attention to the names, I believe this company has a department leaving good reviews and puts all 5 stars. This company only gets REALLY POOR REVIEWS, which I believe from real customers and PERFECT REVIEWS (hard to believe)from I believe their employees so it looks like they are a good company. ANYONE LOOKING FOR A WARRANTY COMPANY- WARNING RUN, RUN, RUN FROM THIS ONE! WHAT A RIP OFF! EVERY TEA PARTY, TUPPERWARE PARTY, EVERY FRIEND I HAVE AND FAMILY MEMBER I WILL TELL THEM THIS SAME INFO. SAVE YOURSELF THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
My experiences with Choice Home Warranty have exceeded my expectations so much so that I have purchased a second plan with them for my second home. The response to my claims are always within 24 hours, and they always follow up to check and confirm if an appointment has been set up with the contractor. My experience with their chosen contractors have also been excellent. They have all responded promptly, diagnosed the problem and have called Choice to relay the recommended remedy. After dealing with other home warranty companies, I would say that Choice is one of the best services that I have ever encountered. I highly recommend them.
I’ve bought Home Warranty for $380, paid in full, and later received the letter from them with coverage explanation. After 4 month the toilet tank was broken, cracked, leaked and I called to submit a claim. Home Choice Warranty provided me phone # of plumbing contractor which I had to call. First meeting was scheduled, but nobody shown up. I called a contractor to find out what’s happened. After my third call the contractor called me back and said that he had a case of emergency work and couldn’t attend that time. There were no apologies, or regrets expressed. I am usually a vey understandable person and we rescheduled our meeting. Then I received the email from Home Choice Warranty that my claim is denied. I called them to explain the situation. The representative was a girl, who was terribly rude and mean to my non-American accent. She finally agreed to relive the claim opened. On the second meeting, the contractor called to the Home Choice Warranty for authorization and the company said that toilet tank is not covered. He demanded $60 check before he came in my entry door. When I called them again trying to clarify what the TOILET TANK words mean in the description of their coverage, I have got a response that they don’t cover the porcelain cracked. I tried to cancel this scam policy, but the customer service representative said me that is impossible, they can not release me after 30 days cancelation period gone. They don’t provide me a service which I need and paid for, and they banding me with this crap warranty, which they interpreter how they want. Ok, I was stupid; I didn’t check their rating, but other Customers: DON’T pay them ahead. I live in the USA for long time, and I had never had such scam, poor service here. They treat their customers as they want; there is not any coverage guaranties that they kept. Their main goal is to grab your money and escape from any obligations to provide a service. They are trying to find the reason don’t fix your problem. They discriminate me as a foreigner, hopping that it is too small amount of money that I would suit them about. At least I will try to suit them because I think this fraud must be stopped.
I recently made my first claim with Choice Home Warranty. i made the claim online on a Sunday night. Choice Home Warranty called my the next morning at 9am to tell me the name of the contractor tat been assigned my claim. The contractor called me by noon and wanted to set up an appointment te next day; however, it was Mardi Gras and we would not be home. He came out on Thursday and ordered the partI needed for my ice maker. Choice HomeWarranty called me to make sure the contractor called me and that an appointment was scheduled. I have been with American Home Shield and they never did call back like that to be sure an appointment was scheduled and never bothered with it once the claim was assigned to a contractor. The service on this claim has been excellent.
I called for a tech to come to my home to address a washer problem. He claims due to our abuse, the pump problem would not be covered under warranty. He then proceeds to tell us he will fix the problem for $380.00. I purchased the part myself for $125.00 and installed it in five minutes. I contacted Choice and a customer service rep stated we want to keep your business and just send us a copy of the part’s invoice. We send in the invoice and get a call back that there is nothing they can do. Why ask us to send them the invoice and then come back stating they can’t assist. What a great experience this was.
I had only been with CHW for 2 weeks when my garbage disposal completley went out. I called CHW and they gave me a local company to call. I called them and they came out the same day. A new motor had to be ordered, but the repair company was back out the very next day. It only cost me my small deductible. It was a very pleasant experience. Thank you CHW. Eleece Moll
With my range the experience was good. They continued to send the repairman out until there was nothing else to do but take a buy out. The repairman was excellent and patient. I would tell anyone that if you have to choose, make it Choice home warranty.
I have no idea how this company has got good reviews, I am sure it is a scam. They have not fulfilled a single claim for my home so far. I had a plumming issue and they did not send authorization form for a few days leaving me without water so I had to get someone else. Their service and claim department is very dishonest.
I’m so mad and disqusted that I can not even type the whole story… Let’s just say I have no AC! Even thought I just paid $975 fo a “CHOICE” warranty…. UGH
DO NOT DO IT. THEY SOUND SO NICE AND CONVINCING JUST TO GET YOUR MONEY!!!!! Sickening!
