Good resource. Thanks.
We bought a home warranty from Mutual Home Warranty. They were very difficult to get in touch with by phone when filing a service order. Then after hours of being on hold and multiple calls, the contractor didn’t come when the order was made. Finally, after about 6 months of the contract, the company’s phone was disconnected and website went down, this was July 2006. Many people were left holding the bill for the work that Mutual had ordered to be done. The bad thing is that the law holds the homeowners liable for these expenses not the home warranty company and these contractors can put liens on the homeowners property until payment is received!
As of today, Mutual’s site is back up with the statement that they are experiencing technical difficulties and cannot issue new policies, yet they can renew existing ones
. If you check Scam.com, you will read posts up until June of 2007 about other home warranty companies with the same addresses as Mutual Warranty. There are 3 other companies that I believe are associated with Mutual and more than likely are fraudulent. The CEO who goes by Devon Johnston has the alias of Vadim Verveda and is wanted by the authorities for fraud on Ebay in Canada.
There are so many fishy things about this company. STAY AWAY from them!!!

I hope this is helpful. I would like for others to benefit from my bad luck!
When I bought my home approximately 5 years ago a home warranty through HSA was included in the sale. I had kept up the warranty afterward. Since then I have used them several times. Can I tell you how happy I did and how pleased I am with the company? I have had an oven repaired, refrigerator replaced, though still waiting for my AC to be fixed (Not HSA’s fault – not sure if Beverly Heating and Cooling is slacking), and other misc. repairs. Now we all know when a repair needs to be done how stressed we feel, but, EVERY time I have called HSA the representatives have been courteous (If not friendlier) and helpful. Whoever does the hiring has the customer in mind with people friendly representatives. Now remember the servicemen are not direct HSA employees so that may be another issue, but, HSA themselves have been wonderful to deal with and do anything in their power to be helpful. Does this sound like an HSA family member writing this? Nope, just a very satisfied customer. THANK YOU HSA!!!
