| Home warranty is a complex insurance product. Unlike home insurance, it does not provide blanket coverage for all appliances. Pre-existing conditions and problems resulting from lack of maintenance of appliance are are generally not covered by home warranty companies. Home warranty sellers may not state these factors clearly, and this will create dissatisfaction among customers. Due to these factors, you will see many negative reviews here. Don't be intimidated by some negative reviews here. If you have maintained your appliances in good condition and go with a reputed home warranty provider, your coverage will be fine. |
We do not endorse any company in particular, however you should ignore the reviews that are overly negative or positive. Such reviews are not likely to offer a balanced view and some of them could be fake reviews posted to promote or demote a company. It is always a good idea to check BBB ratings and make sure the company is licensed to do business in your State by contacting State Insurance Commission. Try to avoid paying annual premium and keep your cancellation rights

Don’t get this home warranty. I was very disappointed. I bought a house in August and bought the home warranty with an added “no fault” policy and a pool add on. The first time I needed to call someone was for a leak around my toilet and they sent a service man out (who I think was just plain lazy and didn’t want to work) but they don’t allow you to use your own company so you have to use theirs. I felt it was a big scam. Their people would come out and deny coverage and knew the language to get it done. First they said they couldn’t cover it because it was a pre-existing problem (funny the toilet didn’t leak when I first moved in but began to leak after a plugged city pipe which the city did repair) Then when I told them I had a “no fault” added on they said “oh” and researched some more and said they couldn’t cover it because I had not had an inspection done even though the policy states all you need is a “simple mechanical or visual test” and no where does it state you need an inspection for proof and the man on the phone could not tell me where to find this rule. Then they finally changed their minds and said they couldn’t cover because the problem was caused by “sediment”. It seemed to me that when they couldn’t get it disqualified one way they found another. (In my case three). The man I talked with on the phone had an I don’t care attitude and when I asked to speak to someone higher up I got a big run around and ended up hanging up to address it at a later time when I wasn’t so mad. I didn’t have to do that however as I later received a cancelation notice with my check in the mail. I hadn’t asked for this and wanted resolution but decided it would be impossible to fight, they obviously had a scam going so I said good ridance and let it go and got referred to another home warranty company by word of mouth. My advice-don’t get this one.
overall, they did a good job of responding to my requests and getting a contractor out to my house soon.
I know they can’t cover everything, but they did replace a part in my air conditioner that was not working when they came out for the a/c maintenance service they have.

Be very careful with this company. They do not take steps to make sure the trades are qualified and competent to do the work they are sent to your home to do. This resulted in costly damage to my home which tAllied refuses to take care of. I am told that is between me and the incompetent trade (who by the way won’t return phone calls about the matter)that caused the damage. This was the second time they sent and incompetent person to do work on my house. If you use them be sure to do your own research on ANY trade they send to your home because they do not and they don’t care if it results in damage.
Do not use Allied home warranty company. They do not honor their contract and will try to stick you with what they call “non covered” items that they arbitrarily impose and are not listed in their “non covered items” clause in the contract. They do not use qualified technicians and they will not look out for your best interests as is their duty under the contract. One Allied employee even admitted to me when I questioned the A/C company that they were using that, “it is in Allied’s best interest to use this company”. After imposing all sorts of “non covered” charges for the replacement of an A/C unit, to the tune of $825, we consulted with an A/C company who advised us that most of those items were unnecessary. Therefore, we asked to see the quotes from the A/C company that they were using as proof that those items were quoted and necessary. They refused to provide us with that information, yet required that we pay that amount if we wanted coverage under the contract. They are deceptive and act in bad faith.
This company is not very responsive or customer service oriented. Considering the amount of money that was paid for the contract, they should honor the services they propose in the brochure. It has been too difficult to deal with anyone in this company that takes any accountability.
The poorest excuse for customer service I have ever come across. My emails have not been returned and I am without AC. I have had 2 service visits. The first visit gave me a temporary fix and then did not bother to explain any further measures that needed to be taken. The second visit did not fix anything, but instead gave me several options of what needed to be done. Allied asked me for my home inspection, even though I have the “no fault” upgrade. I sent it in, and have not heard from them since. Do not waste your money, go somewhere else.
Terrible company. Horrible customer service, and more a process in interrogation with them attempting to get out of paying for anything.
This is the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. They claim to cover many items, but when it comes down to it, they won’t cover the items, even though they are not in the contract as excluded items. They also do not notify the homeowner of any questions regarding a service request. The service requests will be deleted if they do not think they are appropriate, and never notify the homeowner. In emergency situations, they will not find any vendors who will perform what’s needed, and instead will hold the service request if there are questions about it (even several weeks in my case when my a/c was totally out in the summertime!).
They are worthless. We got the premier and no fault warranty. Our tankless water heater died soon after move in, they sent someone out who had to ask me for the users manual to look at the thing.
Service person did nothing but take the cover off the unit, declared that there was “scaling in the pipes”, and that he did not do that.
Excellent company based Houston and covering only Texas. Ownership is the son of a former Texas governor. 13 month coverage but you only pay for 12. The warranty does not increase in cost to renew for a second year as others do.
Poor service and unhelpful. Company often uses sub-standard contractors. Try to charge more than one service fee.
very poor customer service and slow to respond – 6 days for an a/c part
Turned in a service request on Feb. 8th, 2008 on my dishwasher. After 4 different service companies and no less than 9 service calls to fix the problem, I still have a broken dishwasher. The office staff is nice on the phone, but try to get a return call or an answer to an e-mail and you will only end up more frustrated. I have the “no fault” and Premium upgrade, for all the good thats doing me. Over six months and I am still waiting!
Look through this page and see one positive review. I assure you it is from the company itself. These people are a nightmare. They don’t dispute my claim, they just don’t do anything about it. After three weeks fighting with them I started asking to speak to a supervisor. Quickly discovered that they just transfer you to the person next to them who lies and says they are the boss. In an age of terrible customer service in almost every sector of our world, these people really manage to set themselves apart in a whole new category of awful.
This company lies about what they cover. We found out that our heat exchange had a crack in it when someone did a home inspection. The inspector was required to turn off the system due to the hazard it causes. We were able to talk to the service man they sent out to look at the unit and he said it was normal wear and tear and should be covered. The next day when we talk to Allied though, the system was vandalised or tampered with so was not covered. I’m sure that they would have used any of the other many outs they save for themselves in the small print. If you are thinking of buying this home warranty save the money and go buy yourself a 15 dollar hammer at the hardware store. Anytime something goes wrong with your house, just hit yourself with the hammer. It will be better than dealing with this company.
P.S. to Rick’s quote above: “Excellent company based Houston and covering only Texas. Ownership is the son of a former Texas governor. 13 month coverage but you only pay for 12. The warranty does not increase in cost to renew for a second year as others do.”
Son of a former Texas Governor should tell you all you need to know about how crooked this company is. The only cover Texas because this is the only place they have enough connections not to be thrown out of business.
Avoid this company at all costs. They contract with substandard service companies who send unskilled workers who pretend to make repairs. When replacing my heater unit, the serviceman broke the attic stairs and didn’t even mention this to me. Currently have a 3 year old Maytag refrigerator with a recurring, intermittent problem which their service people cannot seem to repair. Have had at least four different service calls on this over a 3 month period (at $60 a pop) and just had to throw away everything in my refrigerator for the third time. Was told that if the service people come out and don’t find a problem, they will just charge the $60 and leave! Also, it takes several days for service and then extended waiting time for parts and then more waiting time to install parts – this is very problematic for A/C and refrigeration problems where time is of the essence. Very difficult to speak with a supervisor; the staff claims there is no supervisor in that day. In addition, employees who are not supervisors pose as supervisors. One time I was even told there are no supervisors and it was suggested that I write to their board of directors! Run, run away fast!
i am going through the same situation as most and have had the run around regarding speaking to supervisors or anyone that can give me a straight answer, this company is full of it!
As all the others before me stated, this company is a nightmare! Four service calls for A/C unit in just two months. Again, the A/C is not working properly. The second technician that responded was incredibly incompetent and stayed 3 1/2 hours to repair a part that according to the third technician should have taken 45 minutes. The bottom line is this company will refuse to replace equipment and will fight you over items that are covered in the basic warranty???
I’m a current customer and haven’t really been satisfied with Allied. I’ve probably called them 5 or 6 times and you have to go with the company they want to send out. In Houston it’s Lone Star Repair company and they’re pretty worthless. When our heater went out in December we called them and the guy said that we had a programmable thermostat and implied that we just didn’t know how to run a simple heater. How insulting! Then after another week of calls and frustration telling them to come back out that something more was wrong with the heater the customer service reps and a “supervisor” (yeah right!) basically called me stupid on the phone and told me that I didn’t know how to work the thermostat. Well, I called another good and reputable service company and paid them myself to come diagnose the problem. Of course, they found the true problem, that a part had gone out and needed replacement. So I called Allied back and told them they better get out and fix it, which they did finally. But of course all of that took a couple of weeks of no heat in winter and an extra charge for me to have another COMPETENT company come out and diagnose the problem. I doubt I’ll renew with Allied. I’ll just call this other company when I need something fixed when my warranty expires.
This company takes your premium and then does absolutely nothing. If you have a problem with a service providor they designated, they do not even attempt to resolve it.
Do not recommend Allied Home Warranty. We are turning them into the BBB (Better Business Bureau) for their Policy on ripping off Customers. Had a 2 year old washing machine frontloader their service rep could not fix after 2 attempts of replacing the same part. They wanted to replace it with a top loader. When we refused, we were told they would send a check for the cost of the top loader. We bought a new washer, but never received the check. When we called a spoke to GEORGE, he first said he called and no one answered, then he said he lefty a message, then he said we cancelled our policy. He couldn’t make up his mind on which excuse to give us as to why he was not sending a check. We did not cancel the policy and we had to buy a new washing machine.
I purchased the Gold Upgrade for my refrigerator when I bought the home and it malfunctioned about a month into the contract.
I called Allied and they sent a service repairman over. Then they requested a inspection report of the home (after I paid the service man). They denied the claim even though it was a covered pre-existing condition.
They said the inspector did not include it in the inspection report even though it is not a required item to be inspected in the house by TREC (Texas Real Estate Commission) rules.
I then provided a signed letter from the inspector, real estate agent, and the sellers disclosure showing the refrigerator was in the home and functional at the sale.
They just denied without reading the documentation and sent a poorly worded misspelled letter denying me coverage without addressing any questions.
I want to sue them and plan on perusing this as soon as I can figure out the “Agreement to Arbitrate” clause written into the contract. I think they figured out a way to make it impossible to sue…
At the very minimum, I filed a complaint with federal trade commission, BBB, and looking into this 3rd party arbitration.
Avoid these guys at all costs.
stay away from them!!!! (1) Service person was about 3 hours late. From the time we first reported it, it took 3 days to get someone out. (2) Incompetent plumber. Didn’t fix or do anything at all. Just wanted the service call money so he could get to the next appointment. (3) Their toll free help line has very unfriendly people who said that their service people are always right and I am wrong. (4) Very, very slow to respond to your inquiries.
Horrible service!!! Plumber came out, took him 24 hours to find a part. He didn’t even bother to call and let us know what was going on? Just left and after 8 hours of trying to find him and calling Allied we were told he would come back the next day. Second, they left without repairing the holes left in my wall.
I’ve had service with other companies and they fixed my wall!!
STAY AWAY from this company! I agreed that they sent VERY INCOMPETENT vendor to my home as well. This is reg plumber, my toilet was leaking and they fixed by putting new wax ring, however after sometime it wobled and caused me to pay another 60 to fix wobling because they didnt level and do proper installation. After fixing wobling .. it came back to leak again.. they asked me to pay 60 dollar again. RIP OFF>..
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!! I wish I had read all these reviews. We have a gas leak. I called the home warranty people who sent their contractor to my home. He was very rude and “couldn’t find the leak” His recommendation was to replace the lines under the house because he stated that they were old and deteriorated. He stated that there was likely multiple leaks. We have the no fault coverage which is supposed to cover “poorly maintained systems” and the coverage is supposed to include gas leaks – also it is supposed to cover if you weren’t aware of the problem when you moved in. – this did not come up on the inspection and the seller was unaware. Allied refuses to cover the problem. The rep I spoke to claims she is the owner of the company. She stated that they do not cover repiping a house even if that fixes the leak – I explained that her contractor stated that he couldn’t find the leak and that was his recommendation. She stated there “are just limits to the coverage” I explained that the contract does not state that and she said “well it doesn’t say we will replace pipes either” – She continued to state that they will not cover a second opinion and that they will not cover the repair because she considers it an “upgrade” to replace a pipe…that if they could just fix the pipe then it would be covered but that her service person has stated the pipe is too old to fix, it needs to be replaced and they just don’t cover that. She suggested I hire someone to fix it myself since I can’t live in a house with a gas leak….
I have tried several other home warranty companies over the years and have got to say that most of the complaints i read about on this site are people who are mad about “home warranties” but blame it on the company…
the reality is that these things sell for $350….what do you expect?
in the several times i have had a need to use Allied’s home warranty, they have done a good job in all respects. Good service. I like that they are based in Texas.
i would recommend them, but only after explaining what a home warranty covers to the potential buyer…
This company is a joke. They charge you for sending someone to your house even when they do nothing. Judy, who claims to be the manager of customer service told me that it didn’t matter if they were qualified or if they made any repairs, I still had to pay a service fee if someone is sent to my home. So basically, they can get joe the homeless guy to walk to my house and charge me for it, because qualifications to perform a specific repair are irrelevant. Judy also informed me when I told her I was not satisfied with this answer, that there was no other person I could talk to. I guess she owns the company because it appears that she has no supervisor. Complaints about this company are all over the internet. They should be blacklisted regardless of making false positve reports. I see no difference between Allied Home Warranty and a common thief that steals from you on the street.
Okay so I was googling to see if I was alone with then, but apparently not. Instead of us all complaining on some blog, can someone lead an effort to file a Class Action Suit? We all have similar situations and cases it sounds. I too paid for the premium upgrade and am supposed to be listed a a priority customer since I am a real estate agent. If I am a priority client, I would have to see what happens when you aren’t priority. The two times I have needed them for covered items, it cost me $825 for the A/C compressor (covered item, but this was for the non-covered parts), and now $525 for the water heater (again a covered item, but this was for uncovered items plus an extra $150 fee for it being on the 3rd floor). This person has claimed to be the supervisor, but she was arrogrant, rude, argumentative, and from a voicemail I left saying I had questions about non-covered items, determined I was refusing service for the fees, but I had done nothing of the sort. She also told me I could write to the board, but she would not provide me with a last name to address it to. So can someone lead this effort. This is racketeering or something. I noticed when I was put on hold that both Allied Home Warranty & Lone Star Repair have the same phone system. Probably b/c it is the same company. Shady stuff.
The all-time worst customer service experience of my life, bar none. I have been trying to get my pool heater fixed through Allied and their service contractor for two months now. Before I remembered I had a home warranty that covered the heater, I had a reputable pool repair company come out. They diagnosed the problem as the blower. Instead of having them repair it, I called Allied. What a mistake! It has been two months of wasted time for me. Their service contractor has been out a dozen times (not including the several times when I had an appointment and they just didn’t show), replaced five parts (one part twice), and have billed Allied $950. Several times when I suggested it might be the blower, they say is wasn’t. They were so proud of themselves, saying the reputable company I had out in the first place didn’t know what they were doing. Despite all their visits and repairs, my pool heater has never worked during these two months and still does not. The service contractor is now saying the blower is the problem! But this service contractor has already billed Allied two-thirds of Allied’s liability limitation. So now Allied is refusing to repair or replace the blower because it will cost more than the $550 I have left. What incompetence! Allied now just wants to send me a check for the remaining balance. No amount of money will compensate me for the frustration and wasted time. I have become acquainted with and a host of the other characters at Allied. They’re patronizing and unhelpful, and always backup their service providers no matter what.
I have had one other Home Warranty companies before Allied Home Warranty which was a nightmare. This time, my AC went out and they had a company named Lone Star come out the next day. My compressor apparently failed and they opted to replace the entire outside condenser unit. My “non covered item” portion was $825. I was weary of this amount so I called their Service Department, who emailed me something explaining the non covered items and what I was paying for. They also gave me a sheet explaining how the Home Warranty works all together. I appreciated the info, but I still went ahead a got quotes from 2 other AC companies. My lowest bid for the same work was $2100! Of course, I opted to do the work through the Home Warranty and the installers were nice. My AC is working fine and I saved a lot of money! I’m glad I finally have a decent home warranty that took care of my claim and gave me info for my understanding. Definitely go with Allied!
I am not Happy about the Allied Warrant service 100%. I did have to make 3 tech appointments and fight additional service charge attempt for refrig not cooling issue. I did have to go through one round of phone agruing and trying to explain common sense to some of Allied’s employees. I will give it to them, they mailed 800.00 check for a similar 21 cubic inch refrig. It did not take any additional phone calls and no further documentation or funny business. I do have to agree that they have sent questionable service techs as well for 3 other service calls. I am just middle of the road with them. I have two appliances to fix so i will definately post in next month! Overall they upheld our contract agreement so i would recommend with caution. Homeownership is so expensive so the things they do cover and resolve really dress up their fowl up. I am actively researching other warranty services!
I was told that my microwave was covered when I called. They sent someone out about a week later whom I paid $60. He looked at it and said he needed to order a part and would be in touch. Never heard anything back from the warranty company nor repairman they sent out for two weeks. I called the repairman twice with no return call and I called the warranty company where I was told that my microwave was not covered. It was a mistake of the first person I spoke with and that I would not be reimbursed my $60. The customer service person said that she would return my call and did not. I would in no way shape or form ever recommend this company to anyone!
Allied is the worst warranty company on the planet!
I had a clogged sink and Allied contacted Affordable Plumbing in Austin to repair the problem. Almost a day later, Affordable called me and basically said that they were too stupid to figure out if they could schedule in the job and they would call me back the next morning. No call back, and when I called them I was advised that they were too busy to do a job originating from Allied Warranty. I contacted Sheryl in the service dept. at Allied and she told me that they have nobody else to do the work in Austin and that I should wait until such time as Affordable felt like doing the job. Very rude, incompetent people working for this company and they have such a poor payment record with their service companies that you may as well just chalk the mistake up of dealing with Allied, and pay for the job yourself with a competent company.
Pay your money to Allied, but get no service! That’s the Allied Warranty standard.
We purchased a $300 home warranty from this company, and upon the first time using it they sent out a horrible plumber who lied to us about needing to run a roter rutter before performing the work (for an additional $140) and then when we said we have one and can run it through he decided he had to get on to the next job. He demanded payment for what little work he did do, and then when we said we will pay half now and the other half when he comes back to complete the job he simply left and Allied Home Warranty ended up dropping our warranty. I am sorry but you do not get paid for a job you don’t complete in this country, or should you? Allied believes you should. Don’t buy their service, because you will end up paying through the nose before they honor it.
FOLLOW-UP: I finally got my pool heater fixed after about 2 1/2 months! Judy at Allied conceded that their vendor was just trying to figure out the problem by “trial and error” replacing of parts. She instructed them to fix the heater without charging me a service fee or counting the cost of the new blower toward the limitation of liability. Thank you! I’m still not particularly happy, but based on this and other experiences, I think I’ve figured out what the problem is. It’s not Allied, but the incompetent vendors they hire. I can imagine that they pay rock bottom fees to the service providers and “you get what you pay for.” I increased my rating of Allied to a 2 from a 1, but I’m still not completely satisfied. I’ve just called my own repairman on a couple of recent items just because I don’t want to deal with Allied’s incompetent (and sometimes scary) vendors.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
If I could rate this company less than 1, I would do it. Absolutely HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE service. Horrible enough for me to log on to see if my experience was just some fluke– after reading these reviews (which my husband should have done prior to signing us up) No one in their right mind would even give these guys a call.
Our water heater went out during the holidays. We’ve been without hot water for 2 weeks now and they keep postponing our service visits. And when we can get someone out here they can’t seem to finish the job. The service guy has been out twice in these two weeks and always leaves with our water still running cold. They simply do not care, I’m sure the folks at Allied are all getting their hot showers each night.
Yet another winter night with cold water and pots boiling on the stove for the kids baths. Gee Thanks, Allied.
My husband who thought Allied was such a great idea is on the couch until my hot water gets fixed.
We bought our home in August 08. Water began pouring out of a rusted johnnybolt at the base of the toilet so we called Allied who sent out a plumber. He snaked the line in front of the house going out to the street. How is this going to fix the rusted johnnybolt and possibly broken wax seal on the toilet? Needless to say this toilet was in the back corner, no where near where he snaked. He told us we had roots in the line so I purchased RootX for $50. While waiting for the RootX to work our toilet was pouring water out of the rusted hole on a daily basis. Two months later we called them and were informed it had to be within 30 days (Anybody know this?) in order to not pay the $60 trade fee. We scheduled them to come out and took off work. At the time the plumbers were supposed to show up they called and cancelled. Allied didn’t even attempt to contact another plumber. We then had to take the following day off work just so that the plumbers can show up and stand around with their hands in their pockets asking us what we want them to do. Their jobs! Duh! They kept their blue tooths in their ear and were on the phone the whole time with Allied telling them they were right and we were wrong. They snaked the outside line again and flooded the bathroom. Then they told us we had a clog under the toilet (Duh, that’s what I was telling them!) and that we would have to remove the toilet ourselves or pay $228 for them to remove the toilet to snake under it. What a joke. We then got on the phone with Allied while the plumbers were still at our house and told them to at least fix the leaking toilet where water was coming out of the rusted bolts. They claimed that they do not cover toilet parts. We refused to pay the $60 because our bathroom was flooded Allied called us back and said our account was on hold. No, their account is on hold with us, permanently. We also had our water heater go out over the holidays, no one came out to fix it and we spent over $300 on a new water heater and installed it ourselves. Plus a service tech came out to look at our dishwasher. They offered a Sears card for $202 and said we would be able to buy one for that amount of money. Ha. Not at Sears! I checked it out online and even their cheapest models do not cost that amount. How is that replacing an appliance when they don’t even give you enough money to buy one? Plus we would have to install it ourselves and pay for that too? This company is a joke and I and my husband have missed too much work because of their incompetent, lazy service technicians!
Ok if this rating had a -10 I would rate that! This company was unbelievable. In this case both Insurance Company and the contractor are equally scandalous!!! Let me explain…
We had a water heater thermostat go out, so my husband called out a plumber to give us a free quote. When we were told that this was the thermostat we contacted Allied (since this was covered by them). They contracted out Everette & Everette to come out. Yes you have to use their people or they will not cover it. So when the plumber (E&E) contacted us to schedule a time; we tried to get an afternoon, he said anything after 3pm would be an additional $60 (This is a charge from all contractor Allied uses), so my husband asked when the next morning he had and it was like two days later. Our appt was on Thursday, Jan 29 between 8-8:30am. My husband called him at 8:30am and he was asleep. So he said he is on his way. So now an hour later he arrives checks the water heater and said that he just needed to be lit. We paid our $60 and went to work. When my daughter came home from school that day she was overwhelmed with the gas that filled the house. We had to call the Fire Dept to come turn it off because the plumber said he would have to charge another $60 for an emergency call. I contacted Allied requesting to speak to a supervisor. He told me that he was going to get that plumber to come back out to fix the problem and was not going to charge us anything. I told him that he would need to come out on Saturday between 9-9:30am because we cannot take another day off for this. Come Saturday at 9:45am I called the plumber left vmail. I called Allied and they tried leaving him a message too. The lady that I was talking to didn’t have any ability to help us. It was like..ok just wait for them to contact you. 11am still no answer back and I left another vmail for the plumber. I contacted Allied again and still ok just wait longer. 1:45pm the plumber calls my cell phone back with ”yeah someone called me from this number?” I explained that we had an appt between 9-9:30 and he said no one ever told him and that he needed to talk to Allied to see who was going to pay for him to come out! I contacted Allied since he never called back, and spoke to someone (RUDE!!!) I was talking to a WALLL! This guy was telling me that he doesn’t know about any scheduling of these people coming out and that the supervisor I spoke to was not there so he cannot explain why he promised me these things because they cannot do that. Plus this will actually be another service call because the first one was a different issue, so we would need to pay another $60 if this is not the thermostat. Also the plumber charges for weekend calls and that he will meet me half way by paying half of $120 so the plumber can come back out! Are you kidding me!! You want me to pay for him to come out to fix his dangereous MISTAKE!!! HELLO!!! THIS IDIOT PUT MY WHOLE FAMILY IN DANGER!!!!! This guy had the audacity to say you can’t get mad at your insurance company for a scheduling mistake. I told him that the people that they contract out are their responsibility! He said that he can have the plumber come out first thing Monday morning. I have already explained that our jobs are critical and that it is VERY hard to be taking off of work. Allied didn’t want to eat the cost nor did the plumbers for all of their mistakes, and I wanted to cancel. He (Allied) tells me “ok so you want to cancel because you are not available Monday for him to come” I said no, I am canceling because you guys are not honoring your word of getting the plumber to come back out on Saturday to fix the original problem. The plumber’s dangerous actions are going to be dealt with on a whole other level. Plus after reading some of these reviews now I know that this guys would have come out and said that it was another issue so that I have to pay another $60!!! IF you honor your life and want a home warranty company to cover what they are supposes to; DON’T use them!!! They will just give you the run around to get out of paying anything!
My job requires that I move every 3-4 years. Needless to say, I have had quite a few home warranties, and never been happy with them. This time when I moved to Houston, I did my homework. I did not listen to my Realtor (which I found out, my Realtor here in Houston had NEVER read a home warranty contract). Before closing I called around asked questions, read the contract. I chose Allied and have been very happy with them. I even called on a Sunday evening during Super Bowl got a live person in Texas… (not California or points unknown). While there are few companies perfect… I would say Allied rates a 4. Thank You.
I was surfing the net and somehow came across this warranty review site, and myself having a warranty with allied decided to stop in and take a look on how others where being treated and the rating for my warranty company. Come to find out no warranty company has a good rating. Much to my surprise every company has so many complaints about how they didn’t cover this or this wasn’t covered. Oh my favorite is about the “non covered items”. I have had many experiences with warranty companies, I have had a warranty company for 12 years and i actually switched over from another company to Allied because of the many good things I heard of them. First the main reason why I switched was the fact that this company does not put a band-aide on your problem, they replace with a new unit or a new whatever. I am really thinking of my outside a/c unit in which they saved me $2300.00 by replacing with a new one and all I paid for a brand new unit was $850.00 which really helped out. I think people have the wrong idea about warranties, they are to help with cost with things if something breaks. I commend warranty companies for what they do. I really like Allied because the replace instead of putting a band-aide on the problem. People please read your warranty and know whats covered and what is not it is the same with any type of insurance. I do have to admit some of the vendors do not work on good time management. I have been rescheduled so I think allied should really look into their vendors a little bit closer.
This company does not deserve to exist!
This company should be avoided at all cost.
Allied started out ok and i’ve been pleased with their vendors. However, recently i had an experience whereby i had an emergency repair on the weekend– when they’re not in– so i contacted the last vendor of theirs that i used. When i called on Monday to let them know what happened and to request reimbursement, they said all was fine and to send over the receipts. I did. That was back in November and as of March, have not received payment. They are also telling me that they have no record of any of conversations and that they will not be able to refund my out of pocket costs. Further, i learned that their “trade call fee” of $60 only covers an “assessment” and that vendors are not authorised to make repairs. They need to get approval from Allied first and then make a second visit– which costs an additional $60 fee– regardless of the simplicity or complexity of the issue. They’re horrible! DO NOT USE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!
I have had several claims through Allied Home Warranty. For all of them, they seem to send out service providers that will “rig it” and run with the trade call fee. After it breaks a second time and another trade call fee, it may get fixed. Each instance takes a huge amount of effort on my part to argue that the item is indeed covered as well as making sure the trade people actually show up.
My final claim resulted in an extra trade call fee that I refused to pay. Allied froze my account without ever notifying me. I have continued to pay my monthly payments without knowing that the account was frozen. I now have another claim to put through and can’t because of the unresolved dispute. Allied does not support its customers. They must get a kickback from the trade call fees.

any time I have had to make a service request the companies they contract to want to charge additional stating that the warranty doesnt cover whatever issue it might be
I purchased a home warranty and upgraded to the premium plan to cover everything in the house. I filed a claim, and denied my service to be completed because she stated the Lone Star Repair Rep. told her it “might” have been a pre-existing water leak before 3/24/2009 when the contract was purchased, but it was “hard to tell”. I asked him if he stated this, and he said that he did not. He talked on the phone with her while I was present, and he did not state this then either. The copy of the work order states that the faucet has to be replaced because of the type. There’s no mention of what she claims. I cancelled the contract within 30 days, and I’m being charged administrative fees. I was told that I couldn’t speak with anyone from the Board of Directors because they didn’t work in the office.
This company sucks and is full of rude, arrogant jerks. They refused a claim after making me go through 40 hoops to get it inspected. Too much grief for the little savings. My time is worth more. EPIC FAIL!
Allied Home Warranty does not stand behind the service they sale. They promised to cover somehting in the event it goes out well my ac went out and they denied to fix it right away, then after complaining to the BBB they said they would fix it, they sent several ac techs out and were to replace unit then they say they denied my coverage again, then they say they will cover it, then they say they will send a new tech out, the new tech then says he wants 500 to clean the unit to see if it will work then, why do you clean something for 500 that needs repalced and is all rusted out, then allied says they dont cover this and deny me again. They are scammers and just want to get out of covering my ac that went out, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALLIED, they LIE TO CUSTOMERS AND STEAL YOUR MONEY. Its been over a month and I am still with no ac. I paid for their service and they RIPPED ME OFF!!!!!
Why do the contractors you send out to my place always want to take money from me under the table and tell me something different every time? I have had three contractors out from your company and they all try to screw me, the one you sent today asked me to pay him 500 to clean my ac then he would submit to you what was really wrong, this is not acceptable. I need my AC FIXED NOW and don’t need any more money stolen from me by your company or the contractors you use, this is total BS!!!!!! I am not paying 500 for a guy to clean my ac then have it replaced. I have paperwork stating my unit was cleaned and maintenance done to it the first of this year and I have had it taken care of every year so this is a complete scam and I am tired of Allied wasting my time!!!!! I have had no ac for the past month because of your lousy service and I want something done ASAP!!!!!!!!!!
I am writing to say your company has stolen monies from my family and I. Allied has lied, cheated, and sold false services to the American people including myself and my family. We thought buying a home plan thru you was a wise decision but in reality we were throwing our money away. I have purchased three warranty plans from your company to cover three of my four homes and finally had to use your service and let me tell you I am so upset and mad at the way your employees run your business. They have lied to me over and over again for weeks promising to fix my ac that went out. I have emails and proof, then they denied me any help and told me to go away. I have been treated so terrible by your company and have told all my family and friends that are with you to cancel and go to another company. You have lied to me and the Better business bureau. I have proof that Allied lies to their customer and will bring this to the public if my problems are not resolved immediately!!!!
I have been sold a false service, I have filed complaints with the BBB, I have contacted my attorney and will soon file a small claim against your company and sue you for the maximum amount. You called and sold me a service that you will not honor. I demand a full and immediate refund all monies paid to you on all my three properties now!!!!
You sent an email to the BBB and me saying you would cover my repairs to 5335 Bent tree forest drive then you turn around and tell me that you will not. I have been lied to many times by your company and have all the evidence I need to sue you for every cent back!
Allied Home Warranty did a great job for me…i’m sure these other people probably had something denied…but they responded the same day as my request and fixed major water damage in my bathroom that saved me over $2,000 in damage.
DO NOT get this warranty. They have hidden costs that don’t surface until you need to use your warranty. I had an appliance go out. AW send a plumber out to look at it and they determined that my current was beyond repair. AW told me that I would have to pay $400+ for parts. I asked them was I not covered. They said yes- AW covered the labor and appliance but the $400+ was for “parts” (even though there was nothing wrong with any of my lines. I just needed a new water heater). It was just that simple. They attempted to convince me that this was something that they had come up with to avoid overages by plumbers. (similar to a phone bundle)Come to find out they only work with one plumber service in this area. I was told that I being charged ‘just because’ this is what AW does. Even if nothing was changed or removed… I would have to pay the $400+ I asked to be cashed out on the repair. I was denied and was told they just don’t cash out on water heaters.
Overall– I did not get a new hot water heater from AW ( although I was covered and approved by the office for a new one ) They have hidden package charges for several items. Hot water heaters, pools, AC, etc. It’s a huge loop hole.
I had the same issue with Judy. She told me that she reported to the board of directors then she changed it to the CEO. The CEO had not phone where he could be contacted. My experience was horrible and very stressful
I can only reaffirm what most of the folks on the forum have said about Allied. I have been fighting with them for over a year to get my AC fixed. They hired a company to come out and fix a leak in a Carrier (puron) system. The company used stop-leak on a 3 yr. old system causing other problems. The end result was damage and failure of the compressor. I have had other AC techs look at the system and tell me that Allied’s contractor was responsible for the failure. Allied (Judy) told me that this was not the cause, based on the information she got from the tech that did the work for them. Imagine that. I’m all for joining a class action suit against this company and putting them out of busisness before they can harm someone else.
Worst warranty company. Always finding excuses to why items are not cover under the warranty. With Allied Home Warranty you get poor customer service and null vendor options. DO NOT sign a contract with this company.
I am very dissappointed. When the service men arrive there is always a hidden cost. They only truly cover the bair minimum. My last concern was my AC. I was hesitant about using them for the service. I usually use Bill Anderson in Katy, Texas (he is great). But, they talked me into allowing them to check my AC with the promise of free freon. I took off work and my ex-husband went to pick up my son (returning from college for summer) so I could wait for Lone Star Repair. When the guy arrived he stated ‘your ac is low on freon’. I commented great they state you get freon with the visit. He then replied ‘only if we do not find another problem’. That was not disclosed when I scheduled the appointment. Of course I was upset, so I stated ‘You will leave here with 60.00 and I will have not air if you find another problem. It is 90 degree’s outside. The heat has made me ill.’ He stated ‘then do not stay here’. I asked him could he give me the number to to Allied. He stated ‘You should have the number, you are the customer’. I have never asked anyone to leave my house until now.
I am so dissapointed.
I have no air. Should have followed my first mind.
Our refrigerator stopped cooling & freezing. We called Allied Home Warranty in Houston for a referral in Dallas. D & B Mechanical came out promptly to our house. The serviceman was polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. The impressive thing was that he suggested that before we make costly repairs we try leaving the refrigerator off for 24 hours to allow it to defrost and drain. It worked!!! We did not have to spend money on repairs or buy a new refrigerator which was what we truly thought we were going to have to do. Would recommend Allied for having reliable referrals and D&B Mechanical for being upfront, honest and helping us find a solution to our problem which did not cost us a fortune!
We had our AC go out over the weekend. They showed up the same day we called and had it fixed in a few hours. The technicians explained to me in great details what the problems were and the steps they had to fix it. The people were nice and delivered what was promised. I would definitely recommend.
First time I used them, they had to return 3 times to get a simple problem resolved, and tried to charge me each time for the service call, when they did not do the work correctly in the first place. The second time I had a problem covered by their warranty, they quoted me a decent service price ( as per their contract ) , but when it came time to actually have them fix the problem, the price they quoted … (AFTER they charged me a $60 fee for a visit to check the issue out ) became inflated by 600%. That IS 600% folks! Also; they did not know the city code for water heater installations. ( After they told me I had to have a stand and drip pan, I checked w / the city and found that to be false info, since mine is in a garage … a fact which they knew! I took their # off my fridge. In my case; they proved to be uninformed, incompetent, and they do not give consistent or accurate information.
We recently had allied vendors perform work on our airconditioning system for our home in Houston–installing new ductwork, and compressor. The employees who came to do the work were courteous, prompt, and completed the job in a very quick and efficient manner. Moreover, we felt like we received a very reasonable price for the job.
All in all, I will use them again and highly recommend them.
SCAM SCAM SCAM… We bought our house in December and we also purchased the premium upgrade in which they do not represent. Our AC quit cooling because of a leak and needed to be replaced per the “AC” company they sent out. After we paid $2,900.00 out of pocket for a new unit and Furnace, Allied couldn’t give me the detail bill showing what exactly we paid for and what our warranty would cover. Allied told my fiance that some parts weren’t covered and it’s not printed in their pamphlet because “Allied couldn’t fit everything on it.” Poor excuse and horrible service. After almost three weeks of no AC and no word from Allied and the AC company that we repeatedly called, we finally were contacted and the AC company said they ordered the wrong unit. Basically they ordered the wrong unit on purpose because when I asked the secretary which unit they ordered for us, she told me the exact unit I specifically said we didn’t want. The companies they use are crap, cheap, and scam artists as well. I asked to speak to the owner of the AC company numerous times and he would never call me back with an explanation, not to mention we paid them up front only because they told us we had to per our warranty. When I told the warranty company that we paid ahead of time they said we shouldn’t have done that, but we didn’t know this because Allied wouldn’t call us back to tell us otherwise. This AC company had $2,900.00 of our money up front and it still took them three weeks to fix our AC and guess what, less than three months later it’s broken again and not cooling. We called Allied today and they said someone would contact us before the end of the day and of course no response. This is not our only run in with Allied but this one took the cake so warning to anyone thinking of trying this company, STAY AWAY…. I agree with one of the other post above that there should be a lawsuit against these people. To respond to the other post about what do we expect we don’t pay that much for it anyway. I agree that yes it’s not a lot of money to some but it is to us, especially when you purchase this for piece of mind in buying a home.
I have been an Allied customer since 2007. I recently had an issue with my Air Conditioner not functioning properly. Allied sent out a company by the name of Lone Star Repair who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After getting approval from Allied, which took a couple of minutes I had Lone Star back out the next day to install a new compressor. I had a few non-covered items, but its expected because no home warranty will cover everything. Overall I would have to say that Allied has a very friendly and helpful office staff. Compared to other home warranty companies, they are reasonable and local.
THE WORST WARRANTY COMPANY EVER NEVER EVER USE IT THEY JUST WANT TO F— YOU UP. I NEVER USE THIS LANGUAGE BUT THIS IS THE ONLY EXPRESSION THAT CAN SHOW HOW BAD THEY ARE. WE HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THEM FOR A YEAR AND ALL WE DID IS PAY THEM AND PAY $60 EVERY TIME WE HAD A PROBLEM AND IN THE END WE HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW FURNACE OUT OF OUR POCKET THEY WANTED TO CHARGE US $2000 AND THEN THE AC UNIT THEY SAID $850 FOR A CARRIER THEN WHEN THEY CAME THE COST WAS UP TO $1075 AND A GYPSON MANUFACTURE THAT HAS A RATING OF 2 OUT OF 5. I AM STILL TRYING TO SEE HOW TO SUE THEM SO IF ANYONE ELSE HERE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS PLEASE LET US JOIN FORCES TO GET THEM OUT OF BUSINESS CAUSE THIS IS THE FAIR THING TO DO BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS HURT.
I believe I was ripped off by this company. Most people get a home warranty because they are afraid of the unexpected 2-3,000 for a new a/c if it goes out. Well, I am one of those and I had one of the best plans they offered and paid a nice fee. Well, when my a/c went out they said certain things were not covered and when I found out the costs of the things not covered I was shocked. I had no clue that it costs $850 for freon recovery, drier, misc soldering, and other small stuff for an outside unit(it doesn’t). The company that Allied used serves the west houston area and they are crooks also. Allied and this company have agreed to charge the customer a flat $850 fee for the stuff not covered in the contract when an outside unit is replace and I asked the guy that did the workup and they charge this fee to everyone. He told me to look at this charge as a deductible but my deductible is $60. Anyway, Allied has HIDDEN costs so BEWARE! When I bought my house the warranty said No fault warranty $60 service fee. NO MENTION OF $850 in addition to my warranty costs. So it cost me $1300 to mess with a base-line unit that replaced my Trane unit of which had a “leak” (so they said–but it was cooling fine)in the line and all it that was really wrong was the outside fan motor needed to be replaced but they wanted to replace the whole unit. ( the unit I got is a 5 ton Fedders 13 Seer and it costs $900-1200) I asked if they would fix the fan (the fan that cools the coils)and they told me it would be easier to get a new unit and that if they just patched the old it would cost me a flat fee of $550–RIPOFF — I should have kept the old Trane unit— it was 7 years old. A 5 ton TRANE unit but the fan motor went bad that is all it needed but now I have a Fedders unit and it is loud when it turns on but it is the 13 seer yay celebrate — big deal and I’d been better off using the traditonal small town a/c guy who would have been up front and honest but I took the fool route and used these clowns
The company Allied uses for this service is called Lone Star and the are bad news also. I am really mad that they are aloud to charge this rediculous price and Allied thinks it is ok that their clients are being charged through the nose for Freon recharge and a Drier that costs way under this price — RIPOFF — they must have a deal going with Allied — Their customer service is terrible also and they are liars, have I said that yet
And they want my renewal — yeah right!
BBB, Dept of Insurance etc etc etc here I come
Horrible Company to Work for I am a HVAC Contractor here in Texas and Allied Does Not pay there Bills. They Give you a autho by bryan, sheryl or judy and then will give you the run around that the money has been sent and you will receive a letter stating why they are reducing your autho to approx 50% of amount authoed or tell you that you should have not replaced so many pieces of equipment after allied told you to do the work. I see now why home warranty companies cant get reputable contractors I will filing a Civil Claim on this company. Someone needs to regulate how these companies operate they are ripping people off on both sides.
Late Friday night I posted online about my A/C going out and how miserable it was during the day with no air. By 10 a.m. Saturday I had been on the phone with people and by noon the service team arrived to install my new compressor. They moved quickly and efficiently and I could not have been more impressed!
I purchased this contract for a few reasons; Texas based company, septic option, HVAC maintenance servicing, and pest control.
I purchased the septic option (so I thought) and the pool & spa. I called them when my pool motor went out. The company they had come out was wonderful; but!!! When the owner of the company got here he asked me if he knew how the warranty got his information, because he wasn’t a vendor of theirs. He was hesitant to service me because he didn’t know if Allied would pay the invoice or not, but they did and that part went over fine.
Then I called to have my septic pumped based on what I had purchased in my contract, and the 1st thing I was told was well we don’t do that anymore. Then I was told, you don’t have it on your contract. I asked if I could add it and she said…not until you renew your contract. BUT they don’t do septic anymore??? According to their website they do.
Summers in Texas…gotta love’em!!! Our AC was shutting itself off, and couldn’t keep up. After calling 4 times in the course of 2 days, on the 3rd day some one finally came out. He said our coils weren’t working properly, and they wouldn’t service the unit because of the age of it. It would need to be replaced, and because they were replacing the inside unit they needed to replace the outside unit because of the SEER ratings not matching up. The service man said plan on having to pay some money.
The next day I get a call from Bryan at Allied telling me that my non-covered items would total $1775. The condenser being $850 and the Air Handler being $925. These prices I’m being charged for were on the high end of their “range” of “non-covered items”, and yet I’m getting a small 2 ton unit.
So, I asked them for an itemized bill so I could see which of the possible “non-covered” they were charging me for. The only response I ever got was the “NCI HVAC Guide” which gives ranges of the charges being from $725 – $995 and a list of the items that I was possibly being charged for.
I sent them an email asking in writing for this information, and I was told by Audrey Sales “Allied has a package price for the a/c replacement. Your are getting a new air handler & a new condenser. Air handler non covered items are $925.00 & a condenser non covered items are $850.00. I’m sending you a list of the non covered items and this is what we show our customers.”
So what is included in my “package”…a slab? acid wash? permit? But I already have a slab…acid wash? why wash it if you are replacing it? Permit…I live outside city limits in a rural town and my situation doesn’t call for a permit.
I canceled my buyers “no fault” contract with Allied, and I’m placing a complaint with the TREC(Texas Real Estate Commission) http://www.trec.state.tx.us
As the consumer you have the right to know what you are buying…and if they give you a “package” you have the right to know what is in that “package”.
On a side note, I was told the “acid wash” was an “OSHA” requirement…OSHA doesn’t regulate this, and it isn’t required when replacing an HVAC unit. Also, I’m getting my AC unit replaced at a total cost to me of $3391 for a 13 SEER Trane. And to pay for it my husband and I had to take a loan out. Don’t use Allied, and if you have used them and have had a similar experience…try the TREC website listed about. If enough consumers come forward, the State of Texas WILL step in…they’ve done it before!

Allied Home Warranty has settled there debit with Streamliner Inc. We are a HVAC Company located here in Arlington, TX. Streamliner Inc. looks forward to servicing allieds customers in the future. Thanks to Bryan and Andrew for there quick response time in this matter.
John Sheffield
Streamliner Inc.
We had to change the AC unit and we were asked to pay $880 for a package charge, which includes changing the concrete slap. Knowing that my slap was bigger and better than the replacement and it is not needed I was still going to be charged full amount regardless. But when the company came to replace my unit a Goodman with inferior unit Gibson and gave me a bill for $1075. So what is the purpose of paying for maintenance I have paid over $800 for less than a year in maintenance fees. And still pay for replacements.
Where should I begin…
I contacted Allied regarding a plumbing issue. The plumber came to my home collected $60.00 and left stating he didn’t have the right equipment to inspect the line. Well that was in October 2008 as of July 2009 the issue is still there.
I contacted Allied to replace a garage door spring / cable to assist with lifting the door. They dispatched a garage door technician who 1. did not have the parts needed to repair the issue and 2. this was not covered by the warranty. My warranty is one the top tier warranties and there was no mention of this in the warranty. Again I paid $60.00 then I paid the garage door company to replace the cable 100% at my own expense.
I called Allied to get my AC repaired, again. The company that Allied dispatched was Lonestar. I was told to be home for a 5 hour period, which I was. I missed the phone call stating the tech was on his way and they cancelled my appointment, but promptly offered to come out during non-business hours for $120. Seeing that I do not have a working AC I am paying the $120, not $60 and hoping I don’t get taken for thousands of dollars like other consumers.
I cannot believe I renewed my home “warranty” from Allied.
So far this is what I have paid: Basic Warranty (year 1): $395 Basic Warranty (year 2): $395 Gold Upgrade (year 1): $120 Gold Upgrade (year 2): $120 AC Service call 1: $60 (issue resolved for about 10 to 12 months) Plumbing Service Call: $60 (issue unresolved to date) Garage Service: $60 (service dispatch fee) + $46 (garage door cable installation) I would have been better off contacting the garage door company directly AC Service Call 2: $120 Total: $1376 Value: none I will no longer be using any home warranty companies. Home warranties are a scam and the companies use fear to sell you the warranty. These companies take advantage of people.
I purchased the warranty at closing, and have made several service calls over the past few months and none of the calls were covered. The plumbing, waterheater, and dishwasher all had issues that were not covered. So in addition to the 43.75 a month I was paying and the $60 service call I still had to pay for the repairs. This is a complete scam. I was spending an average of $100 a month for NOTHING, I still had to pay for the repairs.
SCAM.SCAM.SCAM.SCAM.
I called on Wednesday evening with my AC being out. Allied was most helpful, friendly & professional. They had someone scheduled to come out on Thursday. I had to reschedule and someone came out on Friday. The Service Tech was prompt & friendly.
Very happy with their service. They got to my house in the middle of a heat wave on the next day. the service technician was wel mannered and knew what he was doing…took about 30-45 minutes but the a/c was up and running…it needed some part that he said would have been like $350 if i did not have the warrenty…
i will definitely renew and am referring my friends
As a Realtor, my opinion on home warranty companies is very requested. I am very disappointed in your company’s performance regarding service call dispatch – my seller called on a Sunday late afternoon, temperature 102 degrees, upstairs a/c unit wouldn’t come on. Your policy guarantees a 4-hour service callback with scheduling – we did not receive one at all. The next day, after 5 calls to your dispatch center, we were told we were on the schedule for the following day between 4:00-7:00. As the contact for the service tech, I received the 30-minute warning call at 7:20pm, to arrive around 8:00PM – 2 days after the original call. NOT ACCEPTABLE. It will be difficult to recommend your company again.
WOW! This is an awful, deceitful, downright nasty company. My A/C wasn’t running properly so I made the call to Allied. A couple of days and many calls later, a “shady” technician arrived and diagnosed the problem as dirty coils, yes, you got it, and it wasn’t covered! They could clean them for $600.00, but he said it probably wouldn’t help. Yet, he could have a new unit on my house the very next day for ONLY $6,200.00. I asked him to write down the readings on the work order. He would not. Instead, he jotted down some worthless excuse how the unit was running the best that it could. I called Allied again and requested they send out another tech that would actually write down readings and diagnose the problem. Once again, same ol’ story. So, I hired an independent contractor and low and behold the coils were shiny clean and all that needed to be done was replace the piston. Both techs from Allied (CJ Air Solutions)did not even open the unit to inspect it. They just straight out lied, did absolutely nothing, took my money and ran.
I called Allied with my findings and told them that their techs lied and deceived me. I asked them many times to send an honest tech out, (NOT CJ Air Solutions), and give me a proper diagnosis. They refused and said they needed my independent contractors invoice before they do anything. WHAT A JOKE! The only reason they wouldn’t send someone out is because they were caught! I had proof, pictures and all, that they scammed me!!!
I wish I had searched for them on the internet prior to signing. There are 100′s of complaints. I urge everyone to check out the BBB and other websites like this one, before doing business with Allied Home Warranty. However, if you are reading this, than you most likely are dealing with the same issues.
I am currently in the process of trying to recover monies lost to this bogus company. Wish me luck, as I wish you the same!
As a service vendor for Allied Home Warranty services, I have had nothing but good results with the customer service approach to every aspect of home owner services I provide to their clients. Although some homeowners complain of “hidden charges” that were never mentioned, I attribute the problem to the initial policy implementation. Seldom does the home owner recieve brochures or specific information from realtors. H/Os that individually seek a home warranty plan are much better informed of addition plan costs for repairs. All in all, retail costs vs home warranty costs have averaged from 65 to 75 percent savings in Central Texas.
I have been working with Allied for about 2 years now. In my opinion it was the best choice I made contacting them to become a vendor. First I have worked with other warranty companies for about 10 years. Allied is the only one that pays on time and what is in the price guide lines. If I turn my invoice in one week it gets paid the very next week. That means alot to a company like mine, we are not a big company and cannot finance large amounts of money like the other warranty companies wanted us to. Not only do they treat the vendors great but cover far more then the others as well. I thought so highly of this company I purchased a warranty for my home. I won’t be calling in on no electrical request. LOL. Overall this is a very good company that cares alot about their customers and vendors. I recommended a buddy to them and he loves them just as much as I do and personally I know 10 people that work for this company or has a warranty through them.
As a vendor for Allied, the staff is always very helpful and fair, they weigh decisions on a one on one basis and not as a group data quota. They are an execellent warranty company to work for.
Excellent company. As a service vendor for Allied Home Warranty, I have found the staff to be courteous, helpful and fair. Becoming an Allied vendor was a good decision. Their guide lines are clear and concise, and invoices are paid in a timely manner. I have worked with several warranty companies and in my experience Allied covers more than most warranty companies. They treat vendors and clients with respect and fairness. Each claim is treated individually and not lumped together with like claims.
ME AND (MY HUSBAND) RICHARD LAMBETH ARE VENDORS FOR ALLIED HOME WARRANTY . I purchased a home on July 13th and the home warranty the same day at closing. One week later when attempting to install a new gas range I noticed that the pipe that went into the foundation providing the gas was corroded to the point that the pipe was broken completely off. I called and spoke to a representative. I told them that the pipe went into the concrete foundation slab. The tech showed up and spent all of 5 seconds looking at the pipe before he said that it was not covered but if we paid alot of money they would fix it. I told them no. To that he held out his hand and said 60.00$. I called Allied and asked why they would send someone out to the house for a repair that they knew was not covered. To that they did not have an answer other than it was a miscommunication. When I asked for the refund they said that they had nothing to do with that and that they did not even stand behind their representatives when they dispatched them. So I told them if this was how their company did business I did not want the warranty. They said fine we will refund the money but there is a 50.00$ administrative cancellation fee and that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get my check. (It did not take me 4-6 weeks to pay them my money.) So for a 350.00$ home warranty they scammed me out of 110.00$ of it. I basically look at it like I could either flush the money down the toilet or buy lottery tickets. In either case the money would have been better spent.
On the plus side they did show up on time to steal from me. For that they get an 4 on the service timeliness.
The service technicians they give work to are the problem. You only have the choice of one company. I had and A/C issue and called Allied out twice. The first guy said nothing was wrong and did nothing to my unit. Then it stared leaking and a different guy came out. He claimed it was a different problem and I was charged for another service call. Then certain parts were not covered. In all I paid $300.00 for something that should have cost me $60.00. I could have hired a professional A/C guy the first time for less.
I noticed that all the people who gave this company a 5 are the technicians. That should tell you they protect the workers not the homeowners.
Should have known this was going to be trouble based on all the negative I have read; sure enough only been in the home for two weeks and the 2008 hot water heater goes out. So we call Allied and they send someone out who collects the fee but says since the heater is so new we have to call the manufacture. Why didn’t he just fix it and collect for his service and parts from the manufacture? The way I read the coverage it does not matter how new or old the heater is covered. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT. WHAT A BUNCH OF JERKS!
this comopany is horrible they put bandages on problems had them out twice for hot wster heater and they still wont fix it
We have been with Allied for 3 years. We bought the so-called warranty when we bought the house. At first, everything seemed fine, we didn’t have a whole lot of issues. This year has been horrible. We bought the premium upgrade along with the no-fault in addition to the basic package. We have 2 A/C units on our house, and in June, our 5 ton unit went out. The people they sent had to have been morons because they kept saying it was our 2 ton unit, and they were going to have to replace it. We kept telling them that no, it was our 5 ton unit. Needless to say, we went a week without A/C…this was during the time when we were having 100+ degree weather, and the low temps were not getting below 80 degrees at night. My husband is battling cancer, and our 2 year old grandchild lives with us, and she was sick during this time, but it was just fine with Allied and the “A/C company” that we went so long without relief from the heat, and also that we pay $850.00 for the cost of the unit replacement. The same day as the A/C going out, our garage door needed replaced because someone (previous home owner) installed the automatic opener off center, and caused the garage door to crack. Well, even though we have no-fault, and the premium upgrade to include issues with the garage…that was another $600 out of our pocket. Now, tonight, we have a gas leak due to the house being plumbed with copper piping (or so says the guy who they sent out here…showed up in a suburban with no company markings, and it didn’t look like he had any plumbing equipment with him). He told us that to fix our problem, it would cost us about $400 and that it isn’t covered by our warranty. I called Allied and told them I have the premium upgrade and the no-fault…and she tells me that it is a “code violation” and that they don’t cover code violations unless they do a replacement install…I argued that I felt this was a pre-existing condition and it should be covered, and she kept saying this is a code violation and that it’s not covered. I will be cancelling this policy…I should have checked this website before…AVOID ALLIED HOME WARRANTY!!! THEY DO COVER ANYTHING!!!!
Electrical problem: Tripped main breaker they sent out an electrician that pulled the main breaker and hit with a wrench until it would stay on then put it back in and said it was fixed. I said that is not safe they said the breaker was not available and the whole panel would have to be replaced and that is not covered under warranty I called an electrician and was told the breaker was available I let Allied know. A short while after this the breaker tripped again I stated I did not want the same electrician at my house they issued a ref# so I could call an electrician to get it fixed I did so and I paid the elctrician when I submitted the invoice for payment the first time I was told it was misplaced six months later I had to resubmit the invoice and am being told they will reimburse $145.00 for the job that I paid $500.00 for I have called my realtor so she will refer another company to future home buyers
Do not use CJ Air Solutions and Allied Home Warranty. Allied is awful and only patched my A/C system for the duration of my contract. CJ Air has reasonable service quality; however, their prices are set up to gouge the unsuspecting and desperate consumer. I was quoted $3,400 for a new 3 ton 13 seer A/C condenser. I had previously used them for another repair and now believe I was totally ripped off. After making numerous calls to other companies in the DFW area, I learned that the average price for this type of unit should be around $2,300. This was the typical quote from 5 various companies. However, I ultimately found Denco Services (www.dencoservices.com/) on the Internet. They have unbeatable prices due to their low extremely overhead. I called on a 100+ degree Monday afternoon and had a new unit installed on Tuesday. Same brand name unit, same warranty, and a 5 year warranty on labor. Denco Services has to be the best value in A/C repair in Dallas.
Please be aware of CJ Air Solutions (AC vendor for Allied) as they have shady business practices and will try to price gouge. After getting multiple second opinions from other AC vendors, I found that CJ Air Solutions tried to price gouge by 50%. I had to spend a week without AC due to fighting with CJ Air Solutions and Allied.
I am very impressed with how nice the people are and how quickly they have come to my aid when needed! I tell all my friends to use this company.
Just an update to the unjust service by Allied. They owed me $500.00 for a warranty repair. I was given a ref # to have the repair made and I was supposed to be reimbursed now they are offering partial payments. First they offered me $85.00 then they offered $145.00 now they sent me a check for $318.00 I spoke to the office prior to receiving the check and told them I wanted the full amount refunded I didn’t get to pay less than the electricians invoice.
Allied had sent out H&S Appliance repair to work on washer and dryer. The tech they sent was very knowledgeable on the products. He had my dryer fixed that day and ordered a part for the washer. The next day he had my washer fixed. I am very pleased with Allied and H&S appliance repair.
I am a real estate broker, property manager, & rental property owner, and I have used two of the other more prominent warranty companies for many years. I happened to be searching for another company when I came across these reviews. It appears that all of these warranty companies operate about the same, and none is really better than the other. I know an allied sales rep that moved from one of the other companies and hoped she would be better than the others, but it looks like that’s not the case. If we all would contact the Texas Real Estate Commission, and the Texas Attorney General Office/Consumer Fraud Dept., we might get something done, but I doubt it since these companies are firmly entrenced and spend a lot of lobby money with the lawmakers. I’ve had good & bad experiences with each company that I use, but the bad far out weighs the good. They are just a necessary evil to be used for absolute disasters. They’re not much good otherwise. I would work with others to put a group together to try to make a difference if anyone is interested, but it will take everyone who is dissatisfied with these outlaws.
pretty glad i got this warrenty. moved into a house i bought two months ago and a/c went out. i called a repair company b/c i forgot about warranty…got the bid but then called warrenty…ended up saving more than the cost of the warrenty.
i will update any changes if service does not stay consistant
I can’t say what the repair was like because I’m still waiting….for someone to even call me…as the temp in my house continues to rise.
I moved to el paso recently and it was helpful b/c i don’t know any vendors to call and have no friends here who would know either.
very good experience. glad my realtor made me get it…we had a leaky toilet within the first few weeks…
The quality of the contractors they use is extremely poor. Little interest shown by the contractors to do the repairs on a timely or professional manner. Requests for different contractors falls on deaf ears.
After two weeks in our new home our hot water went out. So we called ALlied on a Saturday and asked for service on our tankless electric water heater. The customer service people got us connected with a plumber right away who said he could come out that day for a $60 fee. As we were going to a wedding that day it wouldn’t have worked so I asked how much to come out on Monday, and he said there was no fee for Monday. When the plumber showed up on Monday he looked at my tankless electric water heater and said he didn’t work on those and asked for $60. Since I know Allied was told it was a tankless electric water heater I’m not sure why they sent out a company that couldn’t fix one. I questioned why I was paying a $60 fee since it was not a Saturday. He said there was always a $60 fee and an extra one for weekends. After this I called Allied, who could not get an appropriate plumber out until the next day, claiming we didn’t have a same day service plan. Strange because it would be 4 days after the initial call that I would finally recieve service but not really. The next day the new company came out to say that we needed a new water heater. But he couldn’t install it. And asked for his $60. Which I did not pay as was my understanding from the day before that one payment would cover us. After virtually harassing Allied and the vendor for the rest of the day I recieve an appt. for an estimate Thursday afternoon. Lots of noise about how they could only cover aprox. $320 (maybe a 1/3 of the total cost). Which means I could expect hot water sometime next week I would assume. I view Allied as an imcompetent money grubbing middle man. I would have been much easier for me to call my own plumber Saturday paid him and have the job done right and immediatly, but as I did ask, they don’t cover outside (read competent) vendors. I also elected to cancel our policy after 2 whole weeks. After the $50 admin fee will expect $120 back in 4-5 weeks. We also elected to put a stop payment on the check for the two people to waste two work days to tell us they couldn’t do anything…which should have been apparent from the initial call and is the lack of communication on Allied’s part. We have no intention to support Allied’s mis management.
Houston Texas Called Allied on Monday Morning to report the water heater tank was leaking and that I shut off water and gas service to heater. The overflow drain pan was full of water and this saved my house. Wednesday afernoon around 5:00 PM they finally showed up. He looked at the water heater and stated the tank was leaking and the heater needed to be replaced. Then he wanted to be paid $65 to tell me what I already knew. They provided me a price to replace water heater around $400.00 + $65.00. Then they stated they would be out Monday to replace my water heater. Cold showers for 7 days…. BS ..Called ARS they showed up within 30 minutes, quoted $500.00 (without Allied Home Warranty being involved) and ARS will be here in the morning at 8:00 to replace the heater. They also did not charge for the service call for the quote…. I would not use this warranty service for anything again and will not recommend them to anyone ever…If you don’t care when you get things fixed go ahead and make your day.
Well after reading all the doom and gloom they all seem to have the common denominator…. POOR Service Vendor. Allied has to depend on the service vendor to hopefully represent the company correctly, and sometimes you’ll come across a “shady” vendor.I suggest when you request service from Allied you get the Company info on who they’ll be sending out and before they call to schedule we as homeowners do a little homework on the vendor showing up to our homes. nip it in the butt before they show up.And remember Vendor’s incompetence does not mean that Allied is incompetent and Al lied’s short falls don’t reflect the vendors. Sure they work together but most of the time its the Vendor giving wrong/bad report to Allied. And sometimes we as homeowners need to read policy to see whats covered. whens its 100+ degrees and your A/C fails expect to wait a day or two longer with a Hm warranty due to the paperwork involved and ordering of equipment. if you call independent Co. of course same day service due to no paperwork no ordering of equipment but also be ready to pay full price. If you dont mind spending 1000′s more to get it now instead of tomorrow and saving 1000′s go ahead, as for me and my family I’ll wait and use $ for vacation
My boss’s mother had this for her home. Twice we tried to use this service hoping it would prove beneficial, but it was not. The two issues were handled poorly and one them took more than 6 months to handle and that was only because I had to call them every few weeks to see where they were on it. My husband and I also had this service on the first home we bought several years ago and felt that it was a lot of money to pay for something that seemed to have restrictions on the things most often broken in a house. We also did not renew. Unless this company has a drastic change, I never plan to use and will not recommend.
Okay…….. Not to be rude but I recently had to deal with Allied and people it’s simple read the policy and ask questions before for you buy it. First off your paying less the 400 for a policy for a year which I find to be reasonable. A lot of the people with the negative comments are people that feel like that 400 dollars should by buying and replacing everything in there home. No silly people. Then you seem to think that the world should work on your terms……….uhmmmm no. They have more the one customer to worry about and what you think is a emergency probably isn’t. To me Allied is a very good company that goes by their policy and I will be renewing my policy. Maybe you angry people should blame the venders and not Allied they are doing their jobs. O and the next time don’t take your issues your having in your person life out on Allied in blogs silly people
moved to abilene three months ago…husband and i bought a house and moved in two weeks ago…i don’t know anything about home repairing but we used their re-key service and it went great. i just got an email about a heater check up so may be doing thjat soon…
I am a service vendor with this company and I can only agree less with the negative. Allied folks are technically savy and understand good housekeeping. Some HO’s think that the home warranty is a cath for getting new appliances, ac systems, etc., etc., but only to find out that there is some honesty that needs to follow.
This is the worst company I have even had the opportunity to deal with. They are horrible. Customer service is bad. They never even try to fulfill the commitment they have promised.
While I think home warranties are a joke. When I bought my last home in Houston,my Realtor told me which company to use. There have been many problems and numerous calls to Allied, I have talked to many people. Most of them never listened to me, then they gave me to Judy. I must say she is the only one that listened to me,explained about the coverage and actually told me the best way to have my problem handled. From here on I only ask for her, she tells it like it is. This has worked to my advantage. Now, the warranty coverage itself is an other story!
Don’t waste your time or money with this company. Their contractors are shady and their cost is about the same as if you didn’t have a home warranty company. When our AC wasn’t working properly, we had to go with their one AC company, who was willing to install an almost outdated unit. When we asked Allied for a cash out, we were denied. I took this up with the BBB but they were no help as Allied is not a member.
This is all via Allied Home Warranty, a company who you would think you could depend on to weed out the likes of “Lone Star.” But they are very committed to them and defensive of them.
So I have this combination AC Heater package unit. Lone Star “no showed” on the first two appointments. Then on the third the service man mis-diagnosed the problem, but said it was fixed. He collected his $60 service fee and claimed it was repaired….except for the fact that the heater didn't heat the air it was blowing. His supervisor comes to the next appointment and claims that its lack of heat is due to dirty filters and debris on the fan blower. He claims it is fixed and leaves. The burner has yet to operate as required to heat the air through both visits. Third visit….it is determined that a switch is throwing because there is a crack that is causing the unit to overheat. They have determined that I need a whole new unit. The problem is now they won't call me back to tell me how much they want to charge me for what Allied Warranty will claim is not covered. My tenants have now been without heat for nearly a week and it is all due to Lone Star and Allied Home Warranty's insistance that Lone Star is their only service provider who can work this issue. This gets one star to be shared by Allied Home Warranty and Lone Star Appliance Repair…..so Lone Star Appliance Repair should be called “Half Star Appliance Repair”
I did my research on home warranty companies using websites and it is hard to figure out which ones are real andwhich are not. finally, i asked my realtor for a recommnedation b/c they would know…she gave me Allied. been very pleased so far. they are easy to work with in the office and have good vendors. i;ll check back if i get moreinfo
I called Allied Home Warranty to check on my son’s home heating system(covered by Allied). They immediately sent a service representative out the same day. The old system needed to be replaced and the very next day they had a new unit in the home. They also replaced the A/C coils which were in bad shape. They did both units at a unbelievable price. I highly recommend Allied Home Warranty. Everyone from the local representative to the Company Manager was extremely helpful and made sure the repair was done quickly. Thank you.
I needed a simple shower valve replaced and the whole process took about a month and a half. I was told that the part was not under warranty and had to purchase it myself. When I called to make a second appt. a representative at Allied said the plumber was doing me a favor by installing it(even though my contract lists “valves for shower” as a covered part). I’m cancelling my warranty!
Allied Home Warranty and Lone Star Repair are the worst. Lone Star Repair provides only patch jobs. DO NOT BUY A ALLIED HOME WARRANTY.
OUTSTANDING SERVICE—HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AS A WARRANTY COMPANY.
Had this warranty company after purchasing our multi million custom home. They would use every excuse NOT to fix something. They are the WORST company to deal with. We had to threaten them with a lawsuit before they would pay us $300 for a replacement for our $2000 dishwasher that they were unable to repair, after several attempts and 8 weeks of no dishwasher. Good luck if you have expensive built in appliances, they will not repair them.
I am a REALTOR® specializing in more expensive homes in Houston’s close-in neighborhoods. In the past three years, my buying clients have overwhelmingly chosen Allied for their home warranty. The primary reasons they do so are Allied’s extensive coverage and Allied’s being locally owned.
I recommend Allied to each of my Buyers without hesitation and I only recommend vendors of whom I am confident they will provide excellent service to my clients.
Allied is not perfect, none of the providers are. In three years, I am aware of two problems encountered by my clients. In each case, the President of the company personally handled the issue and each was resolved to my client’s satisfaction. The last happened a little more than a year ago involving a highrise condominium unit. After the problem was resolved, my client wrote me that she was delighted with Allied. She said “He did the impossible. I was a critic and he turned me into a big fan!”
Every client is skeptical of all Home Warranty Companies, many have been burned in the past. Allied so far has been a much different sort of company. I hope and expect they will continue to be as they continue to grow.
nothing but good things to say–given that they did not cover all parts of my repair but explained it to me as to why etc. read some other reviews and i’m sure everyone has their story to tell. have referred allied to 3 other friends and they have good feedback too.
I am very happy with Allied and the vendor (H&S appliance repair). I had called Allied at 2:30 about my dishwasher not working. And less than a hour I received a call from H&S and had me scheduled for the next day. They came out that next day and had me fixed that day. Great service.
Thanks Allied.
great company…great office staff…went out of their way to make sure i got an appointment same day as i had a big party i was planning and needed the heater working…i sold that house and moved…
liars liars they take and steal from everyone of their customers. They own Lone Star Repair…. they need to be fair and treat every customer the same. Friend of mine got their entire system paid for and then i had to pay 1600+ for a a/c system. Do your research Lone star and Allied are owed by the same people. So that means they take your money for a warranty and then you pay them to install things. They even room in the same office. Look on BBB. Old republic do so much more for thier customers i pay only the service fee and thats it. they cover more also. Judy W. is the biggest liar there. She says i will call you back with any word and months go by with nothing. She is suppose to be a “manager” its like they choose her out of a hat. And dont get me started on the rude little girls at lone star. you know whats funny i was on the phone with Allied and heard them in the background answer the phone “LONE STAR CAN YOU PLEASE HOLD” in those high pitched annyoing voices.
allied guys did a good job on my air conditioning repair…they got there fast…actually, their vendor got there fast and did a good job…knew what they were doing and called in to allied to get approval to make the repair.
i’m not a fan of online review sites but they did a good job and i told them i would give them a good review somewhere online…did a search and find this site
I moved into my home in October 2009 and both of the older garage door openers in the home have gone out and since been replaced by Allied. They used Overhead Door Company, which is a very trusted name, which made me feel good about it. And things were done within a pretty reasonable time frame, considering. It was only $60 per replacement (they went out at separate times) and they had the entire unit replaced both times, didn’t just try to get them repaired.
Now my dishwasher has gone completely out and I am really hoping they do us as good as the previous 2 times!!! I submitted my claim online tonight and it’s been assigned, so I am sure that I will get a call tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
The only thing they have done that annoyed me was call twice, 2 days in a row, didn’t leave a message and when I called in to see what it was regarding, the girl had no clue!
Other than that, no problems! I would recommend the company so far!
good off staff…seemed like they knew what they were doing…got the vendor out fast…heard about them from my neighbor and pleased so far.
the swimming pool pump went out, we got a guy to come out, and all he did was walk in and ask for $60 before walking out saying that the pipe was broken. after fixing the pipe, the company refused to send out another technician. our pool still has algae. The integrity of technicians are questionable, the customer service is so long and excruciating conversation, it’s terrible.
Like many others have said, Lone Star Repair and Allied Home Warranty are both owned by the same individual. This corruption has led to the denial of many claims, a couple of mine included. I have spoke with other home warranty companies and with people who use other home warranty companies and what we experience with Allied is not what others are experiencing. The main event which is leading me to find another home warranty company is that my A/C would only turn on for a short amount of time then hot air would blow. I set an appointment and paid the $60 fee for Lone Star to come out and take a look. He spent about 15 minutes replacing a part. He went inside and turned the AC back on and of course it was blowing cold. He left and not 10 minutes later, hot air was blowing again. I immediately called and they charged me ANOTHER $60 just to have them come back out to “try” to fix the problem they looked over on the previous visit. Come to find out, our compressor was overheating. They said they would cover the AC… but wait… despite it being covered, it’s going to cost us an additional $2,000! We are forced to pay for a new slab, new circuit breaker, new wiring, all of which are not required per a second opinion of an independent AC company I paid on the side to come and inspect. By not using the home warranty and paying an independent company on my own I was able to save a considerable amount of money! I have saved money by NOT using the warranty!!! Allied Home Warranty is terrible. Please take this as a legitimate warning to all of those considering Allied home warranty.
First experience – no hot water in the upstairs shower. Took three visits and lots of calls before the issue was resolved. 2nd experience – kept detailed records of who did what and when – currently on page 4 and the issue isn’t even half way resolved. What a delight to deal with All Texas and Allied.
The biggest con-artist, liars I have ever met. I dealt with them through the BBB because they would not honor their contract. They finally agreed to fix a toilet that had already been fixed and would not reimburse. They lied about the AC not being broken. We called the man out again and again. They lied and played dumb, took our money and never fixed a thing. We called an independent A/C, independent plumber to get things fixed. They only have a PO box or I would go down there and MAKE them give us a 2 year refund. These people are less than trash.
I would never waste money on them again. The companies they send out to repair items are incompetent. They do not replace unrepairable appliances, they just give you current market value (which, on a broken appliance, is nearly nothing) I have had someone out for my dishwasher 5 times now, it STILL does not work. I am going to go buy a new one at Lowes today and just call the lost money a lesson in who not to buy from.
I called Allied regarding a weak A/C system in my mother’s house. The tech arrived on time and within 1 business day of calling the company. This business is NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Here is why. -The system requires a new compressor. Despite the compressor being covered, they are attempting to charge my mom $1150 to do the work. -They stated that the system also requires a new dryer and whip. These items would not be covered. When asked why not, the representative stated that it just is not and he does not know why. I called into question the contract language which clearly states that any component that is required for operation of the system is covered (THESE ITEMS ARE REQUIRED) he passed me on to his boss. She quoted other contract language that applied to upgrades, not repairs. -These people are blatantly violating their own contract here just hoping people will not read it. -The tech also states that a permit must be filed. When asked who requires the permit, the manager did not know. They were going to blidly bill for a permit they did not know if was even required. -The tech included a $250 slab on the invoice. The current slab is fine and would not be damaged in the repair. Also a 4×4 peice of concrete is not worth $250. -The tech was friendly enough. However there is a large conflict of interest as the Warranty Co and Service provider are owned by the same entity.
-The bottom line is that the company could have earned a good review but instead chose to violoate its own contract and attmept to charge for unneeded items. -SAVE YOUR $$$$$$$$$. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. -A reputable local company is going to provide the same service with a 10 yr warranty for the same $$$ that Allied tried to charge for a “covered item” and the origional cost of the warranty combined. There is no monetary saving by using these people.
I am a vendor, and I come across some very bad home warranty companys, I want people to know as a vendor Allied is one of, if not the best companys we deal with. they have never deined a claim we have turn in. They call us to make sure we are taking care of there customers. Thank You
i travel a lot so it has been nice to not have to look for repair companies when something breaks. i’ve had good experience with Allied…i would rec them to other.
This company is running a scam. My A/C broke down in the peak of Texas summer. They sent one of their vendors and they said my condensor, compressor and evap coil needs to be changed. I was supposed to pay 1625$ out of my pocket. I called in to get the details of out of pocket from the vendor. He frankly told me that Allied doesn’t pay them enough but expects them to make profit by charging their clients inflated price for out of pocket items. Anyway, in the mean while Allied decided that the vendor was charging them more so they sent All Texas A/C for second opinion. The tech spent all of 5 minutes and said the same changes BUT my out of pocket now went up to 2700$ and Allied’s payment to the vendor went down considerebly. Now Allied is forccing me to use the second vendor. It’s been a week and a half with temperature in 90s and we have a 2 year old at home. Allied still has to give me a final answer. Every time I ask a question I am given a run around and no body takes a decision or explains anything to me!!! My advice STAY AWAY form Allied home warranty!!
This is the worst company ever to do business with.
air conditioner went out one month after i moved in. cost me $890.00. then had a busted hot water line in the slab. that cost me over $600.00. all these costs were less then 3 months after i bought the house. not much of a warranty if you ask me.
