The commerce award is issued to any company that will pay the money for a plaque or a press release. Google the award they rave about and you will understand what I am talking about. I wish I thought about this as a business idea, what a joke! Their service, if they actually don't deny the claim is as much "BS" as the paid award they advertise! Stay away from American Home Guardian and any small business that claims they are a commerce association award winner! Trust me! The 3 time award winner, American Home Guardian and this award company are both worthless! I should have known when they were claming they were a 2011 award winner in February of 2011, how do you win an award for 2011 in the 2nd month of the year. Do not buy!!

I purchased this warranty company based on their “best of Arizona award” come to find out the award they boost about is a scam! When failure occurred they recommended replacement but didn't want to pay for it, instead they offered me $200 or market value of the failed unit. Then their service company also owned by them, wanted to upsell me an undercapacity unit for twice the market value. Upon rejection of their 'offer' they attempted to repair, charged me for the repair and repaired it incorrectly causing irreparable damage to the unit. When I found out and brought it to their attention they told me they wouldn't help. I had no choice but to buy a new unit and spend money I didn't have. They were found to be negligent by the ROC inspector but the citation i filed against them was dismissed due to a technicality in the law that said I had already replaced the unit hence the contractor didn't have the opportunity to correct after complaint was filed. The owner of this company is a thief, a liar, and it's still allowed to do business. The attorney general need more complaints against this business in order to do something about it, and that is why I am writing this. I want to call all those who have been wronged by AHG in Mesa AZ to write to the Attorney General in Phx, AZ with their complaint against this company. Given the amount of issues I have had with them, I am certain I am not the only one who has been defrauded by this company.

This home warranty took my premium money and didn’t offer protection. At 7am on Monday I called AHG to leave message.Surprise! They answered the phone and they took my case.By 9am we got a call from AHG service contractor and they promised to come our home by noon.At 10am the service tech called to confirm our address location and he arrived at out home before 12 noon.
The service tech got on HOT ROOF and fixed A/C.He had all the parts in his truck.
We live in Phoenix,Arizona can't survive without A/C during the hot summer.
We would like to extend many thanks to AHG and their service contractor for a quick response and professional service.

Our A/C unit stopped working on Sunday night.

Did not hear back within the 4 hrs as stated in AHG agreement. In fact, I had to call 2 days later only to only be given the number of the service agent for me to call directly since they didn't call me. I was contacted finally and made an appointment for the service agent to look at my garage door opener on Saturday, July 9. Supposedly this company that AHG contracted out for this type of repair put in a quote that was a little extreme (this is my understanding after finally calling AHG about the repair status on July 14 - 5 days after the repair service call). It is now the late afternoon of July 19th (another 5 days) and I still have not heard back from AGH or the repair company. Obviously not a great way to start off a relationship. I'm not sure who's fault - AHG or the service agent but I do know it's not my fault - I sent in my money for a year agreement fee AND now a service call fee. I know a few people that use a different home warranty company and they have always had great service with no complaints...I researched and thought I was making a good choice. Obviously regret my decision.

Submitted my first service request by email on July 5, 2011. Did not hear back within the 4 hrs as stated in AHG agreement. I asked why a "Policy Reinstatement & Mailing Fee" when my policy has no need to be reinstated because we are and always have been current in paying, and a stamp is still under fifty cents. "company policy" There is a 2.7% charge if you use a credit card to pay in full. I wrote them a professional letter and it took nearly 3 months for a response. I replied and no response. I also left a voicemail for the supposed only person in that department, and no response. Shame on them! I will not be renewing my contract with them.

They are quick to disqualify repairs, with renewal they add a $6.95 Policy Reinstatement & Mailing fee for EACH UNIT, even in a multiplex, even if you are still well within the contract. They receive kick backs from their contractors like Pro Serv. whose repair estimate is about 3-4 times more then the actual cost and AHG will nerver pay for that repair. Home owner will end up paying for the repair.

This company is fraud, they will never pay any claim more then a couple of hundred dollars, will always find an excuse not to pay. Every time I've called them the problem has been fixed that day without any hidden fees or charges. I would recommend AHG to anyone looking for a good warranty.

I’ve been thoroughly satisfied with the service and response time. My tenants were not happy. A month later it broke again. It has now been three weeks and haven't heard anything from them so I called again. AHG advised that the tenant voided the warrant on the stove when it was moved outside. Appearently they want your tenants to walk around a broken stove for weeks until they get around to fixing it. I own several rental properties and I will NEVER purchase American Home Guadian again.

The first time I call this company to fix a stove it took them about a month and several calls on my part.
