I am a contractor who does work for The Warranty Group, and I believe they are more than fair! If homeowners would read their policy and maintain their appliances, this insurance is well worth the price. We’ve done work with few other warranty companies over the past 20 years, and The Warranty Group by far covers more repairs and offers cashout if cost of repair exceeds cap limits. Homeowners expect to be able to pay $390 for the policy, never maintain their appliances, and get new ones when theirs break. Doesn’t work that way!

Bought home with clean inspection report and home warranty for 1 year provided by seller. We have made 3 legitimate claims – ceiling fan, gas leak, and most recently the furnace($1200). All these items passed the MEP – none have been paid by TWG warranty. These guys are scammers of the first order and their so called “warranty” is garbage. Their contract even contains a clause wherein they attempt to indemnify themselves from being sued – because they know it’s coming – they seem determined not to be out a penny.

i called for service, and was told to call contracter myself . i had repair done ,sent in bill and you refused to pay all i got was some razzle dazzle bs story. thanks for nothing

I bought the home warranty with my home purchase. I used it twice, and it more than paid for itself. Once was to fix the heating in the house, and the second was to replace (!) the hot water heater with just a tiny deductible. Overall I was very happy with the service. Both times the responders were fairly swift. If I didn’t have those problems, I probably would’ve thought the money was worth the peace of mind anyway.

We have had the same warranty since we bought our home 20 years ago. The name of the warranty company has changed many times. The Warranty Group will be the end of our association with this coverage. We had AC issues and the technician was completely incompetent and un-timley– 2 lost days of work with no resolution to the AC problem. We had an independent AC company come out to address the problem. They were appalled when they saw what The Warranty Group recommended technician had done. The independent company fixed what they could and we have had working AC since. Of course, now that we’ve had an independent company work on the unit, it is no longer covered by The Warranty Group. There is no way I can recommend this company– and we, of course, will not be renewing our contract with them.

We bought TWG Home warranty in 2007 when we bought the house, on the recommendation of the realtor. In 4 years, we have used their services twice for minor roof repairs and twice for AC problems. They did not have any roofer in our area. They let us choose a roofer and reimbursed us promptly. The AC failed both times Friday evening in extremely hot weather. They did send a service guy Monday morning each time and he could fix the problem same day. Another time garage door failed and they said the specific problem (broken spring)was not covered. We got it fixed on our own. Overall, I think we have received reasonable service for the money paid (approx $600-700 per year with some options). If you are a first time home buyer, it is worth having a home warranty for a few years until you get familiar with the house and its problems and also get to know repair persons in your area. You will have someone to call. But one should not expect the company to take care of expensive or frequent repairs.

I recently have a dry wall repair after leak inspection. The warranty group found a local contractor to do the work. The contractor inspected and quoated. The warranty group only allow him to do half of the work without paying another half which needs to finish and paint and bring the dry wall look like before… It’s only $100 and this company does not even want to pay for it… Please seriously consider your decision when you choose warranty for your home.

I HAVE THE HOME WARRANTY PROTECTION PLAN BOUGHT BY THE SELLERS WHEN I PURCHASED MY HOME FROM THEM TO COVER ALL APPLIANCES FOR A YEAR. THE COVERAGE IS HORRIFIC! THERE ARE SO MANY LIMITATIONS AND RED TAPE TO GO THROUGH! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO AGGRIVATED WITH A COMPANY! THIS COMPANY AND ITS EMPLOYERS ARE IMCOMPETENT & RUDE! MY HEAT WENT OUT IN DEC 2010 AND I HAVE GOT NOTHING FROM THIS COMPANY EXCEPT THE RUN AROUND STILL WAITING ON THE CHECK AND ITS LATE JAN 2011. NOT TO MENTION A COPY OF THE CONTRACT STILL HAS NOT BEEN SENT EITHER! PLACED MANY CALLS AND SEEMS NO ONE EVER KNOWS WHAT ANYONE ELSE DOES OR WHERE TO TRANFSER YOU. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY KIND OF PLAN FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN… THE HEADACHE IS NOT WORTH IT. I HAVE WORKED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE MY ENTIRE LIFE AND THIS WOULD NEVER BE ACCEPTABLE TO ANY OF MY EMPLOYERS… NOT SURE HOW THEY GET BY WITH IT OR HOW THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS! i just started doing work with this company and i would definitely say they are a fly by night company. i am a certified hvac technician and been doing work for over 7 years. this company wants to push denials and not pay even peanuts to the contractor. its horrible they give us $230.00 for a replacement of a furnace. they will send multiple service techs before anything is done for you ! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM ! THEIR REPS MOST OF THEM ARE NICE ! yet there are a few that really hate spending money. they don’t want to do shit ! keep your numbers down or else you wont get work ! i just don’t show up to there calls !

dont expect quick or polite service! if they say they will call you back, dont wait by the phone! Supervisors need to go back to the entry level positions and re-learn what their job entails!
