Annual premiums and coverage are maximum for the Elite plan while both are least for the Gold plan. The Gold and Platinum plans have an option for a Home Inspection service for an additional $70. This feature is included in the Elite plan.

Under the auspices of Warranty Global Group, Inc. in Texas new property owners are surprised to learn when a critical home system breaks down that their advertised 24/7 hotline has nobody answering the call for service for several hours. Once the new homeowner/ buyer calls and finally gets someone to answer, he/she may be surprised to learn that the homeowner warranty protection plan purchased by the seller was never registered with an account number and service in these cases will be denied for a service technician to come and assess damages for a claim submission. In my own case, a service call was submitted almost three weeks after closing on our new home only to learn that 1) a policy, 2) the previous home seller name or 3) property address did not exist on Global Home USA records and therefore any technical support service was denied. It was learned later that this tactic by Warranty Global Group was somewhat normal with other patrons. Once the new homeowner/buyers bill for a complete system replacement was needed and later sent to the parent company for a reimbursement of the cost (as provided in the policy), the corporate leadership denied coverage and offered a small 1/5 portion of the replacement cost as a "goodwill" gesture in an attempt to close the claim. Warranty Global Group stated they would have "never covered" the broken equipment as it had been a pre-existing condition making it ineligible for coverage even though the system was observed to be in good working condition with a very tough VA home inspection. Nearly 10 months into eventual policy coverage a second appliance was first used to find out it needed a technician to find out why it smelled like it was burning when first used months after home purchase. The Global Home USA, aka Warranty Global Group, technician determined the appliance needed new parts and cleaning but refused to do the cleaning as he stated it was a homeowner/buyer job. Once the homeowner/ buyer cleaned as much of the first used appliance as possible the next day, the warranty company technician returned days later with some new parts to complete the appliance servicing. He complained the entire service call that the homeowner/buyer did not clean the appliance enough for him to replace the appliance parts and guarantee its working condition. The homeowner/ buyer later learned that the repair technician did a very poor job of servicing the appliance and left the appliance seals unrepaired. On another call for technician support a contracted plumbing technician arrived to state he couldn't determine the cause for a potential broken system under coverage. Three other home construction contractors listed in Home Advisor or Angie's List were able to surmise the plumbing problem in question. All three recommended corrective action that involved the Global Home's technical specialty area as the cause for home damage that occurred as a result. In these instances we learned how poor the rating was for Global Home USA the choice of home warranty insurance companies while searching the Internet too late. When compared to other choices with five star ratings, this company only received one star -- with good reason it seems. And when policy renewal for another year was offered by mail, the premium had increased significantly from the original purchase price by the seller. There's no way we will ever have another home warranty policy with this incompetent company and instead wave off anybody from considering them for coverage. Steer clear of any Real Estate agent that recommends using them for home warranty protection else face the same fate as we and others have experienced. view less

Horrible! Rip off! Not covered since I didn't turn on my A.C. after I paid the premium. Pre-existing!!! In this area we turn off the air in September and back on mid- May.

This company is awful. everything from customer service to follow up was the worst. I am not the only one leaving them a poor rating. From their customer service people to their local repair company has been nothing but delays, no follow up to rudeness on the phone. when you call to make a complaint they don't care and will tell you "its your opinion".

This company is horrible, they will come up with excuse to not to pay for repairs.
I signed up for this company when I purchased my condo. I had to use them twice. One time when the toilet was not flushing properly and another time when there was not hot water in the shower.Both times they came up with an excuse that the warranty does not cover the repair. First time they said there is something wrong with the toilet it self and will not cover the toilet, the second time they said the hot water issue was because there was an adjustment needed inside the faucet in the valve and according to them it is not a mechanical issue thus is not covered by the warranty. I spoke to the plumber who came to fix the repair and he stated that he had customers in the past where the company denied most of the repairs by coming up with some excuse of why its not covered under the warranty. I would highly recommend paying slightly higher premium for better service. view less

The turnaround time to actually provide a service man to your home could be unbearable when your A/C or heating system breaks down. However, I found that the company engages in shady business practices when addressing higher cost items. The issue at hand is my outside A/C compressor unit. The compressor unit was determined to be SHORTED out, due to OLD AGE, by a service man from OneHour Heating A/C ( whom I had a A/C maintenance contract with). The service man had done 3 continuity tests to make that determination. The serviceman from Global Home USA also determined that the compressor was SHORTED out (he did 1 continuity test on the compressor). However, Global Home USA asked for a picture of the COIL inside from the unit that was inside the house. The coil did reflect corrosion, but, GlobalHomeUSA immediately stated that the compressor failed, due to the corrosion on the COIL and not because the compressor had SHORTED OUT. Furthermore, there was a failure of the transition insulation which became loose from the wall of the unit and had covered the COIL at the time (which would cause icing in the opinion of OneHour A/C), and this covering of the COIL was brought to the attention of GlobalHomeUSA. GlobalHomeUSA first attempted to say that the COIL was rusted out and leaking and NONE of the 3 reports from 3 service men made that statement (and the vendor for GlobalHomeUSA vehemently denied ever making such a claim that the coil was leaking). I truly believe that GlobalHomeUSA will engage in fraudulent business practices and therefore should be avoided as a home warranty company. In the end as an analogy, GlobalHomeUSA made a statement that "your left foot is not covered by your policy because your right hand has corrosion on it." view less

Purchased their top package with pool. Said it covered improper installation, you name it this covered it. Had an air problem, took a month to get it fixed, in the end we had to hire a law firm due to their unwillingness to stand by their contract & a few other defects they knew about & knew we didn't in their sale of the warranty to us. Now, we wait on the pool guy. Said they can't find one. In Florida? There's as many pool services as their are Drs & lawyers in the phone book. Global doesn't even deserve a star. Worst customer service. They don't check out the technicians they use yet base coverage on the techs opinion. They don't require any documentation from the technicians they send to your house other than asking if they are licensed and insured. They just ask if they are yes or no. No proof required. No experience required. Run don't walk from this company!! Don't waste your money. view less

First off let us start by saying that this company is a joke. When they finally decide to answer the phone or call back their customer service is terrible. We purchased the house in May and the warranty was provided by the seller which we thought was a great perk until we actually started dealing with this poor excuse for a company. In August we had a water fixture in the garage to break which caused water to shoot out everywhere and the brochure says that the customer service is 24/7 but when we called that night we only received a voice mail and it took them 2 days to finally call us back only to tell us that it wasn't covered. Next incident was recently this week when our A/C unit went out and we called them and it took 3 days to finally get a call back and that was when the people finally decided to fax the information to the technician. They take their sweet precious time doing things and they have no compassion or consideration about the families that have purchased their warranties. I would advise everyone to seek another home warranty company because this one is a joke!!!! view less

The worse, the only good thing is I didn't pay a premium, my mortgage company did.
The first time I had to contact them for AC, after a week of calling back for updates, I end up hiring someone on my own.

Now my microwave broke down, trying to get someone since the last week. Had to call them three times today, as they sent the work order to the service provider who doesn't want to do the business with them (probably for a good reason). The customer service representative hang up with me when I dared to start complaining about this mess.

Dealing with Global Home USA is as enjoyable as cleaning out a septic tank with a tablespoon. Maybe it isn't just Global but possibly it is the fault of the company that Global (stupidly) hired to handle ("mishandle") legitimate claims. On top of that their so-called repair company did a defective job and also billed Global Home for parts that were not installed. The problem with my air conditioner persists, but the claims representative insisted that I had to continue dealing with that blatantly dishonest vendor. He insisted even though I told him that he had paid his agent for parts that were never installed. The people who run Global desperately need a lesson in corporate ethics. view less

I have contacted them for pool equipment. A metal pipe between the filter and the heater was broken. They told me that regular wear and tear is covered but corrosion is not. Now, the house and the pool equipment is old. I am pretty sure their technician will come (and I have to pay for his time), state that the pipe was broken because it is too old and corroded away. The difference between regular wear and tear and corrosion is almost like a philosophical problem - a problem I just can't see a clear end!

I absolutely see no benefit of renewing the coverage with them. If you have an option, do not sign up with this company. view less

These guys are horrible. We had hvac problems. Two different contractors came to look at it. One was their's(came after 10 days) one was ours. Due to age the unit was not repairable. Both contractors agreed. One contractor did find a problem with the thermostat. It was their contractor and they wouldn't give them a go ahead. This company won't do any thing now since the unit is unrepairable. Makes the warrenty kind of worthless. Oh and they won't pay to fix anything if it was a problem before we bought the house. Tried to mail a cancellation notice to them today. On the documentation they provided The mailing adress and the zip code were a thousand miles from each each other. Nice. At best merely incompetent at worst they are criminal. I'm sure they are comfortable in their position and they can interpret the contract how ever it suits them. My bad for picking them just heed my warning. They will mislead you all the way through the process. The home inspection company that we dealt with dropped them today and told us they had received several complaints in the last few days. Let that guide your decision. view less
These guys are horrible. We had hvac problems. Two different contractors came to look at it. One was their's(came after 10 days) one was ours. Due to age the unit was not repairable. Both contractors agreed. One contractor did find a problem with the thermostat. It was their contractor and they wouldn't give them a go ahead. I would like to be frank and brief here. I am not a businessman so I do not pretend to be in expert in this field. I do however have a doctorate degree so I am no slouch either.
This company has been only disappointing in my experience with them. My home was purchased with a warranty already covering the appliances. When my hot water heater broke, I spent a considerable amount of time waiting on them over the phone and my e-mails were often ignored. When I did finally speak with someone, they informed me that the company would cover 0% of the fee to replace the hot water heater. Needless to say, we decided to not renew our warranty and I would advise you to do the same. view less

After purchasing my house, I was informed by the city that my house had a major leak (40,000 gallons/mo). I called Global Home, and only after much debate did they finally send a plumber out (at my expense) to assess the situation. The plumber determined I had two leaks and kindly contacted the city to discover that the meter had been clocking during the two months that the house was unoccupied prior to my family moving in. Global Home has continued to refuse to cover the damage, even though it is clearly covered in my contract, both under the regular warranty and under the Home Inspection Service rider that I added to the contract covering prior existing damage. I have involved my attorney, and I still have not received a response. I am paying for this service, and it is costing me over $250/mo in additional charges to the city for water usage. view less

As first time home buyers we thought we'd protect our investment by purchasing a home warranty. This company has been nothing short of terrible! They do not have contractors close to our area to provide service, and failed to mention this to us when they took our money. We were without a working oven for over a month before they could find someone to fix it. They suggested I find my own contractor, but none of the local companies were willing to work with Global Home USA. The second time I tried to file a claim was when our AC stopped working ( in 90 degree weather). Because it was a Friday night we had to suffer through the weekend before they could even file the claim. It's been months and not once have I heard from anyone about my AC. I had to hire someone to fix it myself. I'd be satisfied with a refund of my policy cost, but they won't even give me that. To make matters worse, their staff is rude and unprofessional. Please note - 90% of the population that writes reviews online usually have bad experiences. I mean who writes in the taco bell saying "My soft taco was delicious" - Generally most people would only write when "The guy at the counter screwed up my order three times and over charged me for food I didn't order" - So please take some reviews with a grain of salt as they say. The company here wouldn't be in business if it was really as bad as every comment says.

I recently had purchased this warranty from this company and have filed about 1 major claim and 2 minor claims in the last 6 months for my home. Everything with this company has been fantastic. With that being said I read many of these poor reviews I wish to clear some things up that are being Misconstrued from my experiences with the company.

The company at no time has EVER asked me to pay the claim/repair outright and submit paperwork to see "if" it was going to be repaired. I say this because when my AC unit went out they said it would be 8 business hours to find and get the paperwork to a provider. Then to have them contact me to schedule a appointment to inspect my AC unit. This however was Friday night and business hours mean Monday through Friday 7-4 for this company. So I said that seems a little slow and its really hot and they said at any time I always have the right to find my own AC provider as long as they are licensed and insured and call them myself and schedule a appointment. They then instructed that IF I do find my own provider that I will have to have the provider contact the claims department BEFORE any repairs are made to the unit to see if the unit is eligible for coverage. I said okay and found my own provider he called during the inspection and his phone call was received after hours and the agent was able to approve the repair on the unit and I had working AC the next night before bed.

Last note I want to address on this is during my other minor claim of a washer machine motor leaking. I had to pay the repairman for the motor replacement in full at the time of the fix after the warranty company said it would be covered. I was instructed that after I pay the company the full amount with a receipt of payment fax it to their company to have it processed for reimbursement. - I called 24 hours after faxing to insure they got the paperwork. Was greeted very politely and was informed that the paperwork was received and was sent to their reimbursement department. they will process the payment and I should receive a check within 30 days. I waited and about 16 days later I got my check in the mail. Didn't have to call multiple times or anything.

Each time I have ever called the company I have never had any customer friendliness issues. they always treated me the best they can given the circumstances of the call I was making and understood my urgency. I will continue to renew my contact with my home warranty for many years to come.

To be straight forward with anyone reading all this. The warranty is straight forward. Read your contact. Understand it. Follow the procedures and they will take care of you.

Got warranty when I purchased a home in 2006- paid this company over $2,000.
In 2012 had water dripping from a pipe under the sink. Took two days of calls to get a response and finally a plumber came to my home. He called Global for authorization, said he often had to wait 30 min for approval which was the case w/my claim. Finally got approval and plumber installed new faucet.
Although bill was $145 (not $55) Global rep said to pay bill, fax him copies and I'd be reimbursed. Long story short, I had to fax paperwork 2x because he lost it, then they said repairs were not covered. Only after threatening small claims did they reimburse me $90.

Very bad customer service. I had this company for almost a whole year and never filed a claim. Now that it was almost time to renew, I called a small claim on my stove, which I am sure it is something minimal, but the problem is that it has almost been a week and they told me that they could not find a technician. They never called me to let me know that they are having difficulties finding a technician so I called three times and they finally told me that if I wanted to, I could find my own technician and submit paperwork. If it was an "approved" repair, they would pay. I asked, how would I know if it is considered "approved" and he said: "You won't until you pay out of your own pocket and submit the paperwork". I felt like he did not care about my business and he just wanted to hang up the phone. In other words, Global Home USA representatives don't care about their job and the service they provide. I was about to renew with them but now I know I should AVOID them at all cost! I am sure my stove repair is minimal and the technician I found after I explained what the problem was told me that 9 out of 10 times, they can fix it on the spot. Global Home USA just lost a customer who had a small claim on something simple because of the horrible service they provide. Good luck to this company but if they continue with this unethical business attitude I hope they go out of business before they keep taking people's money and not caring for their business. view less

Very disappointed in this warranty! Our fridge kept quitting and restarting. The technician came after the fridge kicked back on. This occurred 3 times! They refused to replace the fridge until the technician was there the moment it stopped working! All the food that was wasted and time consumed trying to be home during techs working hours was frustrating. If it wasn't for the tech giving us his personal number, I'm sure we would have never been able to prove it. They are only paying for less than 1/2 the fridge and no compensation for the food! The warranty is about to expire so I feel they were attempting to push it past expiration so they don't have to pay! view less

I thought it was great that I had this warranty when we bought this house. It was a gift to us. BUT its was a very bad one, If i must say. I had a pipe leaking in my bathroom. WHICH IS COVER UNDER WARRANTY. But they wouldn't pay anything for it b/c of a code that need to be updated. EVEN the contractor they call out for us told me too never use them. Any other company would have paid for it to get fixed and let us pay for the difference (which was $40 on a $400 repair) I try to call and ask Global Home some questions...yeah, don't bother. they want you off the phone as fast as they can, even hung up on me. Yes, purchased a home warranty. Placed a service call for stove top. Appliance repair man came out one week later and could not fix. We were told he would schedule an electrician which never happened. Ps: 3 weeks later still broken. Never again and neither should anyone considering purchase a home warranty through this company.

Dont ever buy from this company. They are ridiculous. I pay 450 for covered. However, when I called for service for my fridge they said they don't cover, because I don't have home inspection report. Before I bought it, my realtor say I don't need it they will cover since I bought home inspection covered. I typically do not share feedback online but I wanted to make sure other fellow home owners and new buyers are aware of all the tactics and fine print used by this company. Please stay away from this company and if you are some one like me who have spent $525 for this, you will know the frustration. The policy that they sell does not cover the common issues and failures that pop up. To give you an example
1. Microwave oven - issues - Nope. not covered unless you pay $75 for some one to come out and take a look. Parts and Repair charges are extra
2. Refrigerator - Water dispenser issues - Nope. It is not covered
3. Heating system - Issues - Paid $75 for a technician visit even though the deductible is $50 and they blamed the issue to improper installation and nothing was covered.
..The list goes on and I have since then called for other issues and the answer has been a no and not covered. Please stay away and I am sure there should be other well reviewed companies out there. If you are looking for peace of mind..please stay away from these guys. I wish there was no star option then I would have rated them zero stars instead of one star. view less

I called Global Home USA on 3/23/14 to report that our wall oven was malfunctioning and unusable. Received a call from a local repair company two days later, on 3/25. All they had for appointments anytime in the near future was the 1-3pm time slot so I agreed to have them come the following afternoon, 3/26, and took a half day off from work to be there since I work an hour away. The repair guy was there for all of about 3 minutes. He looked at it, said "You're right, it needs a new touch panel," collected my $50 and said they would order it after getting approval from Global. After hearing nothing further, I called the repair company on 3/31 for a status and was told the part was on back-order and is expected to arrive on or around 4/10, at which time I could schedule another appointment. I asked the lady if I could schedule the appointment in advance in hopes of getting a better time slot and not having to take another half day off from work, but the best she could offer was for me to call back next Monday and they MIGHT let me schedule if they had a firm arrival date on the part. That is my experience with the Global Home USA warranty and their affiliated repair companies thus far. Do with it as you see fit. view less
