Please do not waste your money. I am contacting the FTC since I purchased this on the internet. For others interested in a class action suit we need to get together. This company should not be allowed to continue to scam the public.
This company is not worth the trouble. I have called in for a repair on a water line and was told by Home Choice to contact a company myself and Home Choice will get the diagnostic to validate coverage and then reimburse as they had no company of their own for the repair in my area. They received said diagnostic over the phone (to a representative) and via email several times each. No contact has been made with me and I have routinely called to speak with customer service. The last conversation with a representative was to tell me they never received the diagnostic and I should contact that reps supervisor with the contact info. of the repair company. With this done, I still have not been contacted. We are now over two months with the run around. For the past few days, every time I call the call is dropped immediately and I have tried several phones. I hope this is not a company going under.

After couple of months due to extreme heat my AC unit for my second floor broke and I contacted HomeChoice. They directed me to a local company which came and verified that the unit has to replaced. The local company got a confirmation from HomeChoice that they would pay – this was in last year of Sep (2011). After the local company fixed my AC unit, HomeChoice declined to pay the amount and I followed up with the company on this over a month. At that point I thought that this was resolved as I did not hear back from the local company nor HomeChoice. Couple of weeks back I got a lawyer’s notice saying that I am supposed to pay the local company the dues – more than $1500 and this got me irritated. Already out of job I wanted to get back with HomeChoice – I called them daily from March 26th (that is when I got the lawyer’s notice) and every day the customer rep says that either their systems are broke or the manager (Paul Harris) will call me back. I did not get any call and for the past two days – their numbers 1 800 391 5664 and 1 888 747 2334 do not work.
This company seems to be a spam. What should I do now? I cannot afford to pay the big bill that has come my way. Is there a way I can get to these guys? How come these people are still out there – why cant one put them in jail.

Annual fee was paid, and I’m still under the annual coverage period (May 2011-May 2012). We ended up submitting two claims late last year. I followed Home Choice Plan’s rules and the contractor got pre-approved to make the repairs in my home. No reimbursement by Home Choice Plans to the contractor or to my other pre-approved claim that I paid out of my pocket. I feel that I have been outright scammed by Home Choice Plans, or whatever entity of theirs they now go by (Household Plans, IWASI, Choice Plans, Auto Coverage Plans, Mercury Insurance Group, Auto Warranty Group, Central Mass Home Warranty, Metropolitan Benefit Group, National Service Net, etc.) I filed the BBB complaint and got no where, but per the Miami-Dade Police Department, I was told I can also report my complaint to the Federal Government:
“…you may report this incident to the National White Collar Crime Center at http://www.nw3c.org. Click on ‘Overview’ on the left hand side, then ‘Contact Us’. A link will be available to report this incident. The center links complaints from multiple venues, and may have additional reports on this company. If enough complaints are received about Home Choice Plans, the center will forward the information for all of the cases to the appropriate law enforcement entity.”
I was looking for a Home Warranty and after I THOUGHT I did my due diligence with researching companies I ended up with Home Choice Plans. I signed up in April 2011 and never needed them until about a week ago only to find out that they do not answer the phone or emails. I, like one of the other customers want my money back. They were still drafting my account but are obviously out of business. Extremely frustrating. I’m jsut glad I found out now instead of later down the road with a major repair. THEY ARE FRAUD so do NOT use them!!
My washing machine agitator broke three weeks ago. A plumber was sent to the house one week after report of request for service. Technician said major part required for repair and would need to put in request to warranty company, that was 2 plus weeks ago. Now service number does not pick up line at all. Seems company is no longer in business or avoiding contact with policy holders.
I purchased the plan on a month by month basis. I talked with someone approximately 6 mos ago regarding my air conditioner. It took a week for a response thank goodness I didnt need them. I called again in the month of February to find that all numbers are dead calls. I want my money back I dont know how to get it. They have a bank account drafting my money every month I want someone to find this company so they can be sued for the reckless behavior.
I spoke to a florida attorney that as of Nov 20, 2011 this company is dissolved and not in business. They are still answering the phone and still wanting to quote you which is illegal. Do not give this company any money or you will be out of luck.

Why is this company still in business? We have a broken water heater. We called Home Choice. After several calls over several days, they finally answered, processed our claim and directed a plumber to come to our house. That turned out to be only a ‘verification’ visit. We paid $65 to have a plumber confirm the heater was legitimately broken, which is what the plumber unequivocably told Home Choice. Since then, 1 week later, we have had no calls returned to get the water heater actually repaired. Now when we call the claims line, it appears disconnected. Avoid Home Choice like the plague!

This company needs to be put out of business. I have a judgement against this company and can’t get this money either. BBB and Illinois States attorney has been contacted but can’t seem to help in this matter.
We need to stop these types of companies from taking money and not following what they sell.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. They are a scam operation. They do not return calls or take care of issues. We paid a year up front and we had a washer go out. When the company was called they set up the service agent ok and we paid the 65.00 when service came. Service called the company and stated the washer needed to be overhauled at a cost of $950.00. We did not get a call back for 2 days and Home Choice offered us $150.00. Per our paperwork the washer should have been fixed or replaced. Not per Home Choice. We did go to court and was awarded a judgement but the company just does not reply to our request to be paid back.
This company has a Better Business rating of “F” in Illinois. Check before purchasing with this company.

This company is a SCAM… I had paid for a year worth of service and EVERY time i tried to get in touch with them i never got a response for my tenants. I would call mutliple times a day. I had to eventually pay out of pocket for all repairs and maintenance done on the property. The warranty scamming personnel then began to automatically charge my account and so i got my card cut off. While in the process my bank turned the company into the fruad department and they told me that it was not an offical business and they did not exist (I dont know how they confirmed that information but they pulled their address). I then was sent to the fraud department where they refunded me for all my money lost to this company. GOOOOO USAA…BOOOOOO HOME CHOICE PLANS!!!! I will be sending the company to JAG to have them black listed from any other military personnel becoming scammed!!!
These guys are scam artists of the highest order. They called out of the blue looking for a swimming pool contractor and we agreed to do the work. We were promised a credit card number shortly to pay for our work, but never got anything. The work was done 9/2/2011 and it’s now 2/3/2012 and it’s impossible to get a response from them. They owe us $434.03 and I’ve personally made probably 10 calls to them. They actually had the gall to come to us 5 weeks later looking for more work to be done and I told them I’d be happy to as soon as they paid the money owed and it went silent again.
In talking to the homeowner she let us know we are not the only ones in this situation and her electrician had never been paid either. We’re looking into what our legal recourse can be. Searching for that actually drove me to this site.
Just so every one is aware this company also operates as Prime Home Plans or Home Prime Plans. I too like everyone here has been given the run around. My calls are not answered, the customer service state that it is not their end but instead the AC Company that won’t take their money. When I called the AC Company to ask why they are having a problem with the hame warranty they stated they had never dealt with the company but that a payment can be made over the phone with no question. It is currently in the 30′s and our house is freezing. We are trying to cancel but the site is now lost, the customer line will not answer and the verbage of “If you aren’t satisfied with our product or our company within the next 30 days, simply just give us a call at 800-481-1834 or email us at [email protected] and we will happily issue a full refund! No hassles, no hard feelings and no questions asked.” IS NOT TRUE. Do not deal with this company nor any other company that goes by Prime Home Plans, Home Prime Plans (they are all the same company!).
Not recommended! This company probably has the worst customer service I have ever experience. They rarely answer the phone and never return calls. I was in the call queue for an hour waiting for someone to pick up the call; however no one answered. I filed a claim concerning my heat pump on 12DEC. I explained that I had no heat and would appreciate prompt service. I had to call the company several times just to get the claim assigned and have a tech to come out to check the unit. On 23DEC, the service tech diagnosed the problem and recommended replacement of unit. He called the company 3 times; however couldn’t get anyone to answer so he left. The next week, I was able to reach the company and faxed the invoice to the claims manager as requested. Days later after my fax, there were no response. I contacted the company and was told to submit a different invoice for repairs; because they would not replace the unit. On 4 JAN, I called the company and was told that they now need maintenance records even though I recently bought the house. I was given the claims manager’s number which I left him a message requesting a return call; however he did not return my call. Contacted the company again and the claims rep stated that the claim would be denied due to no maintenance records. She informed that I need to speak with the claims manager for details. DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
I too seems to have been had for $500.00 of hard work plus their customer is pissed.
They have the worst costumer service.They don’t answer their calls only when they are selling you something.when we finally had them to come or get one of their technician, he ask as to pay $1,700.00 in order to fix the heater because the insurance won’t pay for it. Try to call the warranty company again they won’t answer me.please stay away form this company. They will take your money but they won’t fix your problem.
Unfortunately recommended this to a family member and when she needed them, they avoided, made a promise to pay if she initiated servcie, then did not even pay the $250 they promised. She cancelled and they still have not sent the promised refund. Now, we too have an issue, cummalative hold time to reach someone has been over two hours of holding, said they would call us back today with a service time–no phone call. Hours have passed and no amount of holding gets an answer, the lies and avoidance have apparently started. We have called a service guy ourselves and will be paying out of pocket because it’s too cold to go without heat. Pay for a hotel and wait on “maybe” service from these people? No, cheaper to call the service guy ourselves. Esp since seeing all this awful feedback here, we feel pretty sure we’ve been hoodwinked like everyone else. If they would just tell us SOMETHING, even “no,” that would be better. Very sorry we trusted them and wasted our money away to buy their product. Will not repeat.
waited too long for a service contractor to come to the to the house. they did not honor the contract and had to purchase a new appliance..the company would hang up on me when I make the service call..
I have to say that my experience with this company has been poor. I called one day to customer service, but to my surprise, company was bought out by another company but kept the same name. I wanted to cancel my policy. They try to sell their policy to you, but honestly, they are like car salesmen. If the first person can’t sell the policy to you, they keep going up the ladder until you are so frustrated. They finally cancelled my policy, and said they would send me a refund in the mail. I asked them to send me confirmation via email. Three months later…I’m still waiting for both. Now I get to play this game all over again! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN!
This company has serious orginazational issues when they dispatch service calls they leave out all the information. Then they tell you that your company is on its own. it doesent seem like they care at all about thier contractors or clients
They do not pay this contractor, and their phones, fax and e-mail are out of order using the Florida address.
This company does not pay its contractors even after approving the repairsand giving authroization. According to the “billing department” they don’t “give authorization numbers. They approve the pricing and the work, then tell the contractor that a “check is in the mail” to only have the invoice still unpaid after 90+ days. When calling about past due invoices, they argue the prices that they already approved, and then cancel your contractor account so as not to have to pay even though the work was done in a timely manner from the original SWO. Most customers have no idea why their claims are being denied and most are being denied simply because this company does not want to pay. Run, don’t walk from this group. They are crooks and are more of a head ache than anyone needs. Save your money and go with a home warranty company that actually does what it claims to for its customers. Total Protect or Cross Country Home Servies are worth a home owners time to check out.
Filed claim on September 9th 2011. for an electrical problem, a circuit just stopped working one night. When we bought the house everything worked, the house was inspected and passed. Sept.29th still no call from service company. Called 2 more times and finally they sent out an electrician. Took more time then allotted and service tech had to wait 3 days for approval for troubleshooting. 3 days later tech returned and was not able to finish. could not get a hold of person for payment. For 3 weeks we fought with the company to get the tech paid for his time troubleshooting. Problem still exists. Called this company every week from Oct 13th to November 8th trying to get them to finish / fix the problem. Finally on the 8th of November I called again and was finally able to talk talked to the rep and he said they are not going to fix the problem because it is an EXISTING problem. We moved in to the house in June and everything worked fine. September 1st one electrical circuit died. The house is 30 years old. They had no problem taking our money without they themselves inspecting the house and now they say that they will not perform the repairs because it is an existing problem? If you buy a house that is not new then they can and will claim that the problem is an existing problem. Just another lot of sorry, lying losers that will never return your calls or fix your problem. This site really needs a rating far below POOR!!
What is a word for worse than poor customer service? These people are horrendous! We have been working with them since the beginning of August and still have not received our $150–a pennance compared to what we had to pay out! They are affiliated with IWASI so anything with either name run far, far away from them!! I think we are going to have to chalk this up as a complete loss and waste and get new credit cards to block any recurring charge they may try to place on us. As a matter of fact I am going to contact my credit card company and see if they can plac a fraud case against this company! So disgusted that people are so willing to screw over someone else to benefit themselves! After we started having issues with them we saw there is a lawsuit against them from the insurance commisioner in WA state. All of these people should be ashamed of themselves!
