I've been a customer of Liberty for 2 years and evertime I placed a call, they would state that my payments were not up to date. I would have to pull my banking statement and fax it to them everytime to prove I was up to date. This is especially frustrating due to me being setup with an automatic payment. The last time I placed a call, they sent a tech out to check out my AC. When the tech called them to aprove the call, they stated it would not be approved. I asked them why and they stated that they decided to drop all coverage in Virginia and my policy was closed. They didn't call me or send an email or anything to alert me of this they were alos still pulling the money out of my account. So, I had to pay the tech to fix my AC, stop payment to Liberty and am still waiting for a refund from them of the money they pulled for 4 months that apparently my coverage was cancelled.

My understanding was that they would replace a covered item if it could not be repaired.

First experience was my AC. When I phoned for claim, they advised they had no service people in area, and I could pay to have it done, and be reimbursed. When the service person phoned he could not get through. I finally purchased new unit. After writing to corporate, they agreed to pay for the previous repair quote, about 20% of the cost of the new unit. About a year later my range went out. I phoned them, they promptly sent a repair person. 2 days after arriving, he phoned to advise a part was no longer available, and Liberty would contact me within 5 days. They never contacted me, I phoned them twice a week, I was advised it was in committee for a decision, for 2 months. Finally when I called they advised me they would pay me $200. towards a new unit. The replacement unit was $1100. They advised me that they had the option of replacing the unit or giving me the marked value of the existing working unit. I was very unhappy, at the end of this term, I will change companies.

First time I used the service, they were very prompt, job done, very pleased. Then AC failed, phoned and was advised that they did not have a contracted service company in the area. Phoned daily, they asked that I get my own service company, and after receiving results of problem, phone them and get approval. Phoned them 3 days in a row, and was advised they had not yet made a decision.

Reported problem, advised no company in area, get my own and phoned them with problem and repair estimate. I did and every day I phoned, was advised they had not made a decision, this was on AC repair. Very dissatisfied.

Did not get service man out after 2 weeks of phoning them.

After 2 weeks, the had not given me an answer on repair of AC.

The problem that I have is that the company does not send reminders when your contract has expired. This presents problems because I had three contracts with them. One for my home and two for my rentals. Another situatioin is that they did not have a vendor for repair of my bathtub/spa. They paid someone over $400 to replace a motor, but it would have cost me more than an additional $350.00 for them to tear up the tile to get to the motor. My electrician came to repair the electrical circuit. At that time the spa began to work and I informed the company but they had already paid for the repair and therefore the Spa company just kept the $475.00 for a motor that was not replaced. Since, they my contract has expired. I am hoping that I can get the spa company to come and fix the two jets that are not working for the $475.00 that was paid.

Oh Boy!! This is a total rip off company. They not only charged me $50 from my deductible but also charged me $350/- to clean the ducts and central A/C. My local handy man told me that they usually charge $150/- and is a routine thing that they do for their customers. I was charged so much more by these rip off's. Note: Maintainence is not part of their contract.

I had problems at rental property with AC the contractor they sent was kinda shady he was trying to get money from me and the warranty company but the warranty company found him out and they paid for the repairs, they were very helpful and the work is still not complete because the contractor didnt finish the job but they are working on trying to get the ac running to full capacity. It is working but the upstairs isnt cooling like the downstair which they promise to fix I can say I am pleasantly surprised with the company

I called Liberty Home Protection on a Friday afternoon, (4:45 pm), due to my A/C unit not running. They told me someone would call in 4-8 "business hours". Come to find out "business hours" doesn't include Saturday/Sunday for an A/C repair man... Finally once they came out, my A/C unit needed the coils cleaned. This is a maintenance issue and not covered. Which I understood. However, I was charged $50.00 for the service call/deductible and $214.00 for the cleaning. Come to find out, when I contacted my usual A/C person, he indicated that a coil cleaning would be around $150.00.

Go figure, I use the people Liberty Home Protection recommends, I pay $114.00 more.

I will not renew my warranty with this company.

I purchased Liberty without seeing this site. I have a plumbing issue in my house. We live in a town of 100,000 people in Kansas, and they have not been able to find a plumber who is willing to come to our house. The ones in our town don't want to work with them (go figure!) and the ones in the nearby towns won't come to our town. (makes sense because there are plenty of plumbers in our town.) Finally, after lots of wasted time on the phone, and two weeks with the plumbing issue, the representative told me I could have it fixed and they would reimburse me.

We'll see if they do. At present, I would recommend against this company, especially if you live in a smallish town where they might have trouble finding a provider.
