OneGuard was established in Arizona in 1990 by entrepreneurs who were dissatisfied with the loopholes in coverage and speed and quality of service provided by other home warranty companies. The company claims to have introduced a warranty that covered more, with fewer limits and built a network of qualified service technicians to repair appliances and systems. OneGuard not only raised the bar for traditional home warranties, but took it a step further by being one of the first in the industry to include home services, like carpet cleaning, window washing, rekey, and more, so customers get the best value.

Since its founding, they have expanded to Texas and Nevada and have become one of the Southwest’s fastest growing and most trusted home warranty and service companies. OneGuard believes in providing world-class customer care to all of its customers and strives to continuously improve its service. In fact, customer satisfaction is surveyed after each service call.

OneGuard offers 24/7 customer service over the phone or online. OneGuard maintains a website that is designed to assist customers with common questions, including live chat. Customers may also create an account online to manage their plans. Information regarding the companies policies, FAQs and contact information is available on the website.

OneGuard claims to provide home warranties that offer the most coverage with the fewest of limitations. The company also claim that they do not perform any band-aid repairs. If a damage cannot be repaired, OneGuard will replace it for you. In addition to comprehensive home warranties, OneGuard offers home services, like pest and termite control, carpet cleaning, etc. OneGuard has plans suited for existing homeowners, as well as, home buyers and sellers. In addition, real estate agents can make use of some of the marketing tools provided by OneGuard as part of the Certified Pre-Owned Home program. OneGuard also claims to be one of the few companies that provide coverage for unknown pre-existing conditions for home buyer plans.

NOTE: In December 2011, the company changed it’s name to One Guard Home Warranty. The company was operating under the name of Service One Home Warranty till date.

One Guard has been so very helpful to me. Their response time and customer service are the best. I had a bad experience with another home warranty company years ago and found One Guard through the BBB and they were the only one with a good rating. They have never refused to cover something that they have agreed to pay. They always respond immediately. They have even called multiple vendors in order to find an appointment that works for my needs. Every vendor has been professional and done excellent work. My last experience was so helpful. I had a leak in my house and was frightened. I was not kind and didn't know who to call. They weren't sure the leak was covered, but sent a company out here and didn't charge me my portion until they figured out the cause and they also helped me to figure out who to call for the damage to my home. Everyone, despite my unkind tone, were professional and wonderful to me. The three people that helped me with this incident were Enoch, Ernesto and Chris. Swap plumbing did the work and their serviceman was Johnson. They were all so helpful and kind and make what could have been a horrible experience a great one and affordable too. Halo garage door came out to my house they sent a very skilled, friendly tech who really went over and above. We weren't going to get a warranty but our agent recommended we call One Guard and Dallas C. She went over plans and said she would help if anything went wrong. One Guard has really been great for us and Halo garage is a class act!!!

My experience with OG has been positive. Scheduling service has been timely, I have been kept informed by OG and the technicians sent out to the house, what has been done and/or found. I have not had any issues with the services provided. Customer service has been pleasant to work with.

I am very happy thus far with OneGuard. I had never purchased a home warranty for my existing home but, am glad that I have at this point. Dallas C., the rep in my area (north Houston, TX), explained everything to me - how it all worked, the plans and made recommendations for what would work best for my home. It was easy and their monthly payment option makes it even more affordable. Today, the electrician came - Veterans Electric - Jared and Mark were beyond professional. They were fast, and diagnosed the problem quickly with an even quicker solution. I must say, I know nothing about electricity - and could have easily been taken advantage of by anyone - but, Veteran's team was on it and didn't try to upsell me on anything. They did what was needed and even double checked my jacuzzi tub to be sure it was properly grounded (no charge) when I asked if minded if I asked another question about an unrelated item. Overall, I am happy with OneGuard and will be using them for home servicing this fall - including window washing, HVAC servicing etc. For the money, service and peace of mind, I am very happy I chose OneGuard view less

Response to my calls for service are always prompt from One Guard. They contracted companies also respond quickly with a call and schedule service promptly. Their service has always been competent, the techs polite and informative, and always clean up afterward.

We have had OneGuard since we moved into our house 6 years ago. They have always been Johnny on the spot and have been true to their contract with us on all occasions. We woke up to a flooded backyard one glorious morning. I called OneGuard after shutting off the main valve of water and lucked out because I got Jeanette! Jeanette was able to save our morning by explaining how to shut off the water to just the yard rather than the whole house, so my family could still get ready for their day. She was knowledgeable and clearly communicated what was possibly happening and what our next steps would be. Sprinkler Doctors sent out an amazing tech who was personable and efficient. What could've been a complete nightmare ended up being a wonderful experience! Not only did our leak get repaired, but Jeanette also set us up with a garage door repair man to fix a broken spring. We had another home warranty service for 10 years. Sometimes they took 5-6 weeks to repair our appliances. Once, they sent 3 different parts and all were incorrect. OneGuard is awesome! We recently moved into a house covered by them and they have fixed any/all problems we have had very quickly and efficiently! We have also experienced great customer service! Garrett helped put me at ease on one of our claims and kept me in the loop about what was going on which I really appreciated! I would highly recommend them!

Grateful to have my A/C fixed so quickly in less than 24 hrs., since I didn't know I had a problem with it not working at all until I got home at 8 pm at night. I wasn't as concerned about my comfort as I was about my precious rescue cats! They have fur coats and it is harder for animals to cool down. Thanks One Guard for coming to our rescue so quickly !

I would ask that anyone that intends to use One Guard, please reconsider. My AC had issues upon returning from vacation on Monday nigh. I opened a ticket at that time and received a call the following morning stating that they would have someone out on Wednesday. Keep in mind I am in Phoenix at 115 degrees and have 3 dogs. The tech shows up at 2:00 on Wednesday and lets me know that he will need to order parts and they will not be in until the following Monday...unacceptable in AZ. One Guard would not consider expediting the parts and instead offered up to $60 per night in a hotel. I have 3 dogs and a job and do not care to stay in a hotel that is under $60 per night. I asked if I could have another company of my choice look to see if they could get the parts and I was told that would be okay and they would pay the labor, but would only pay the amount that they would have to pay for the parts. I decided that I would pay the delta between the two prices to have AC that night. After spending $850.00, I was told that they would only reimburse $342 as they would only pay $55 per hour for one hour of labor. In the end it cost me $500 to have my air running on day two rather than wait for a week for my warranty company to fix my issue.Upon further review I noticed that they are not part of the BBB...shame on me.

Thanks to Deb McCandless and Casey Robinson for saving the day! Through their help we were able to get an A/C person out to fix my daughter's unit this afternoon. Had a leaky air conditioner unit. One guard sent out a contractor Sunrise that did more harm than good. Still had to pay deductible. One Guard sent out a new "preferred" contractor. It took some time to get them to send them Cat Mechanical was great. Found the leak. Fixed the leak. Came back to check to be sure leak was fixed. One Guard billed me for a second deductible.

After talking with the One Guard Customer service rep they agreed to waive the second deductible. Much better/improved service.

If you need air conditioner service don't let them send anybody but Cat Mechanical. Great service done right the first time. Had the rating been about Cat Mechanical the rating would be 5 stars. view less

I have been a customer of One Guard for a number of years. They have always been extremely responsive to my service requests with quick service. The contractors that have responded have been very knowledgeable and professional. Once, when a plumbing contractor did not fix the problem on the first try, he came back immediately and fixed the problem. I recently had a problem with my refrigerator. The appliance repairman came and told me it could not be repaired. Tina, from One Guard, called me and gave me three options to replace my refrigerator, including sending me a check so that I could purchase the one of my choice. She was very helpful and explained everything to me. I have been and will continue to be a happy customer with peace of mind, knowing my out-of-pocket expense will be greatly reduced when something breaks at my home. view less

Terrible contractors. Terrible customer service. If you have a pool ESPECIALLY, do not sign up with this company. they also raise annual premiums yearly and service fees yearly. I had to come out of pocket for $425 in expenses that WERE PREVENTABLE IF their contractor did the job properly the 1st time. I had to have them send out a 2nd contractor (took a week). The 2nd contractor did the job properly but as a result of 1st contractor NOT doing job properly I have $425 in damages to pay out of pocket . To top it off,one guard calls me after seeing my comments and review online and offers $100 for me to erase my comments and give a higher rating. WOW view less
Terrible contractors. Terrible customer service. If you have a pool ESPECIALLY, do not sign up with this company. they also raise annual premiums yearly and service fees yearly. The worst customer service and follow up I have ever seen from a company that makes its living helping consumers. They transpose phone numbers, never call back. One of the worst experiences ever.

Poor quality and inexperienced contractors. Expensive with slow response from contractors.
When there is an urgent need, they don't allow contractors to respond on weekend. They rather customers be inconvenienced for an additional 2 days so they can avoid weekend upcharge.This is never discussed when you sign up. They are not sympathetic or flexible.

One Guard uses the worst service companies. I just had an AC fixed. It had "iced over" low R-22. They came the same day. Great. Came withing the time window. Great. I went 5 hours early to meet them and turn off the AC so it could "thaw". It did. When the tech got there I told him it had "iced" he immediately told me I would have to make another appointment next day for a new service charge. I assured him I watched it thaw, outside unit and inside exchanger. He talked to me like I was stupid and insisted I make a new appointment. I refused and insisted he inspect the inside unit before making a diagnosis. He reluctantly did and added R-22. When I got the bill he charged me for a "cleaning" which I did not authorize. This is a scam a tech from another company wised me up to. So....I cleaned the outside unit before he came. Because I was not there watching the entire time (my mistake) he charged me for work I'd already done. By and large this is my experience with services One Guard uses. Installing used parts, not fixing the problem, finding other "make work" not needed and trying to sell you something you don't need. Misrepresenting the job etc. You can't trust One Guard service providers. I should have checked the ratings on the company before I agreed. They had 9 one star ratings on Google ratings. Again, my mistake for not checking in advance. Never trust One Guard to send quality workers. view less

I would advise against EVER using One Guard HW!!! I have made 1 claim needing to use the warranty and it was an UP HILL BATTLE every step of the way! I even threatened legal action (no idea how, but i knew what they were saying wasn't right) to get my concern addressed. Im a new home buyer and had never been through the process before. Knowing what i know now i would avoid a HW if i could and just negotiate some cash to fix what ever comes up later. Customer service upsets me to no end... every statement was designed to limit what they can do. I left feeling like the burden of proof was mine to convince them to honor a warranty work order. Every conversation was an argument. view less
