We prepaid for 2 years for extended coverage including the pool, and 2 months in we filed our first claim. It took over a week to get a response, but they finally sent a repair person out who fixed the repair. Then 6 months later we needed to file another claim related to the original repair (the parts were now leaking) and they would not return our calls or emails. They would not send out a repairman. I was calling and emailing daily. They are a fraudulent company. Do not purchase from them. view less

The company, as you can see, is a rip off. They take your money and disappear. You can't get ahold of them. You try to call them and you are on hold for hours with no reply or answer. This company is a FRAUD. We purchased the First Choice Full Coverage Plan +Pool Coverage and paid the whole year in advance August 29, 2012 in order to get the 13th month free. Keith R. Goodman was the Regional Manager for California that set up our plan and took our payment. In March 2013 we tried to contact SWW and could not reach anyone for a pool repair claim. I even tried calling the number to set up a new plan and could not reach anyone! We contacted our Attorney General for help and still received no response from State Wide Warranty. If someone says anything other than fraud, I would like to know what phone number they are calling and who their contact person is. Again, STATE WIDE WARRANTY is a FRAUD. view less

I had this company since 10/12. I called in January for service and no one would call back. I contacted the BBB.org and they didn't respond. I called a few days ago and the number has been disconnected. Buyer Beware. Since then I have contacted the Attorney General of three states GA, DE, and CA. I have yet to hear about my refund or any information. I am contacted the US Attorney General office. This company is a complete rip off. view less

I received phone calls from the contractor that Statewide would not pay them after numerous requests via phone and email. Not only is this company scamming the customers, they are scamming the vendors and not paying them the balance of the bills after our deductibles! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I wish I had read these reviews before I paid my 2 year premium in full. I bought the policy in April 2012 and I just needed their services and I have been calling the phone number and like everyone else, I had no success in talking to anyone. This is ridiculous. I am all for the class action law suit against them. I can not believe I paid over $600.00 to them for nothing.

Beware. This company is a fraud. When I was looking for a home warranty for our rental home in NC, I received an immediate call back from Keith Goodman. I decided after talking to him to buy a policy. I should have just lit a match to my money. Our renters called our property manager about a disposal being clogged. SWW was called and they did send a plumber over. When the plumber tried to collect, he was unable to contact anyone after numerous tries After 3 months he acquired a lawyer and came to me for payment. $160.00. I then tried to contact SWW by phone (always on hold, no call backs) and by email (no response). If you go to their website, I found only 1 phone # for the whole USA, and they don't answer it. I don't know how they stay in bussiness. I would love to see a class action law suit against them for their scams. I would definitely question any positive comments. I'm sure they were put there by the company to off set any of the negative ones.By the way, the disposal developed other issues later on which cost me another $286.00 to replace. view less

After my clothes washer went out, I tried to contact SWW. The links on their webpage were mostly dead, but I eventually got an answering service that knew nothing of my account and promised someone would return my call. A week went by and no call so I called again and recieved the same promise. Two more weeks went by and no call so I emailed the salesperson with a threat of further action if they didn't contact me to get the problem fixed. More weeks went by without contact before someone named Paige called. During the time they didn't call me, my A/C also stopped working. Paige promised to make it right and contacted a company that called about my A/C once for information and then disappeared. I have left several messages at this point with no response. Nobody made any effort to get my problems fixed and it has been almost a year at this point. In my view, SWW is a scam that just takes your money and doesn't fulfill any of their duties under the contract. Good luck contacting anyone and don't expect them to fix anything. The only reason I haven't sued is the unconscionably slanted contract that limits damages and venue. Hopefully my Attorney General will take action against this company. view less

We had a problem with our dryer, after this being our first claim we went ahead and contacted State Wide Warranty and a technician called the following day to set up an appointment. The tech has to get authorization to repair the dryer which was a little annoying considering it took off some time from the work. After a hour the work was approved and the dryer was fixed the following day being that the part had to be picked up. The rep at Statewide Warranty was very professional and really was there for me and rush things, At first I was a little bit skeptical going with statewide warranty, being that they were a company I have not heard of and seeing all of their reviews. But in the end they did come through as they said they would. We have been using the dryer for about a week now , so far so good. At first signing with the company I was a bit skeptical coming from American home shield and knowing much about state wide warranty although after knowing the benefits they had to offer such as the same renewal rate and the option of using any technician I would want and not having to only use the companies technicians.

I have had a decent experience with SWW. My calls are usually answered and the tech always comes in a timely manner. All of my service requests were not approved, but the repairs that have been performed have been successful.

I have been with this company for almost 2 years now. They have been a good comapny and had always serviced what i needed. I maybe had one problem with Statewide, my icemaker was not covered although i thought it was included with the refrigerator. Other than this little problem, everything else i wanted covered was covered. I even had the option to get my own service guy out who i had used before i had Statewides plan. view less

Statewide Warranty has took care of my service requests for the couple of claims i had made. Sometimes it is a little challenging getting an actual agent on the phone but when i do, the customer service meets my needs. Statewide even did some work on my water softener as a courtesy even though it was not covered under my plan.The only problem i had with this company is the wait time on the phone, i can deal with that because sometimes i get through to an agent immediately. My policy is going to be expiring soon and i am considering renewing my plan. view less

SWW--Statewide Warranty is a fraud, not a real company, I purchased 2-year policy from K. Goodman around May of 2012, when I needed a service call last month, no telephone response, no email response, they took my money and ran away. We need to file a class action lawsuit.

When we signed up almost a year ago, the customer service was stellar. Coming from AHS it was good to actually talk to a real person. Wouldn't you know it, we had to file our first claim last week as our dryer went out. Now, we can't get anyone on the phone and their ridiculous online claim form doesn't even come with a confirmation that they have received your claim. Been on hold for hours on multiple occations and the only thing you get is a message saying... "congratulation, you are now first in line and your call will be answered by the next available agent" - ha what a joke. Can't rate them low enough as it is clear there is no one to answer the phone or respond to claims. STAY AWAY - we are going back to the less personal AHS because they actually send out technicians and pay them. view less
When we signed up almost a year ago, the customer service was stellar. Coming from AHS it was good to actually talk to a real person. Wouldn't you know it, we had to file our first claim last week as our dryer went out. This company is the biggest fraud in the market. I made the mistake of purchasing a warranty with them in February 2012. I filed a claim for my garage door in Apr 12. They gave me the run-around for three weeks (the few time I spoke with someone). Someone out of Birmingham finally came to repair the garage door the middle of May 12. I requested a refund and cancellation in May, and I a still awaiting a response from Statewide.

On a sister page (also homewarrantyreviews.com) there are about 25 reviews for Statewide Warranty which are all 3 stars or (mostly) higher. If my initial experience with this company is typical, those 25 reviews have got to be fake.

First, the contract I received by e-mail was approximately $50 higher than what was promised over the phone. When I e-mailed for an explanation, the Regional Manager (salesman) was "out of the office and unavailable" for more than a week.

When he got around to responding, he told me, "If you pay the higher figure ($444), we'll give you an extra year's coverage." I accepted his offer before having second thoughts, after which I did further checking on SWW, finding they have several complaints against them and are not listed with the BBB.

I secured a policy with another (BBB-rated) company, deciding to to cancel with SWW. Then started a long series of e-mails (no response), phone calls (even after 90+ minutes on hold, no human answers).

In short, I began trying to cancel the policy 3 weeks before it was to go into effect, and to get SWW to refund to my Visa card the $444 they had immediately taken out. Since they don't respond to e-mails nor does a human answer their phone, I can figure out no way to contact them in order to get this unwanted (and now duplicate) policy canceled.

You know, they might have great claims service. Given the facts above, would you like to risk your money up front to find out? view less

Ive just renewed with them for two more years.In the past two years, they’ve showed me excellence based on the couple of times ive used them, after a terrible experience with my last company, shtatewide have replaced full a/c unit and two compressors on my primary residence , and they repaired a disposal, and ice maker and pool pump, and gave me $540 towards replace a 14-year-old washing machine. A big thanks to Conrad in customer service and claims as i promised i would post a good review when id have a chance for all of his calm patience with me, and to Gary in service dispatch for always getting the service contractors out to help me quickly–and always on my schedule so I don’t miss too much time from work. And how’s this for customer service: either dave or the service contractor will call me when they’re on the way, so I don’t miss a day’s work waiting for an early morning scheduled service call to arrive!

And in the past two years, I’ve only had one small problem. They said my renewal payment didn’t go through because the credit card(for automatic payment)was expired. It wasn’t. When I called to straighten it out, eddie in customer service spent about 35 minutes with me on the phone and found that my payment had not gone through, and so I had slipped in status with them.I feel they should’ve notified me of it right away. not two weeks before it was about to expire

Overall, I can highly recommend statewide warranty for homeowners, and especially for anyone with rental properties!

There is no such real company, they will not return calls. They do not pay their service providers if you are lucky enough to get one. call the claims center and you will be on hold for hours and then dropped. I can not believe that their web site is still up, what a scam. Everyone associated with this company should be hauled off to prison.
