IGS HOME WARRANTY PLANS

IGS offers various home warranty plans for homeowners, home buyers/sellers, and real estate professionals. In a slight departure from the usual home warranty practice, the terms or plan durations depend on the type of protection you are purchasing.

The home seller’s protection plan:

This warranty plan is for home or property sellers. It’s effective from the date IGS Home Warranty receives your enrollment or the registration date of your property as on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The duration of this plan is 180 days or until closing of sale or cancellation of MLS.

The home buyer’s protection plan:

This warranty plan is for home buyers. In this plan, protection begins when full payment is received by IGS within 30 days of closing. It will continue for a year.

The homeowner’s protection plan:

This warranty plan for homeowners is effective from the 16th day after IGS receives your full payment and enrollment for the protection plan which will roll out on a monthly basis.

IGS provides seven plans- Inside Line, Total Line, Total Line+, Core, Core+, Total Home, and Total Home+. The Total Home+ plan offers the most extensive coverage

Inside Line: Covers inside gas, electric, water, and sewer lines.
Total Line: Covers inside and outside gas, electric, water, and sewer lines.
Total Line+: Covers inside, outside lines, and water heaters.
Core: Covers everything from the above plans along with heating and cooling systems.
Core+: Covers Inside Line, Total Line, Total Line+, and Core plans, and additional heating and cooling components.
Total Home: Covers major systems and appliances.
Total Home+: Covers all systems and appliances from the above-mentioned plans with some additional features.

IGS HOME WARRANTY CLAIMS & CUSTOMER SERVICE

You can call IGS at 614-443-0300 between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm ET for any failure involving covered systems. IGS will assign you a contractor within 24 hours.

To file a claim online, you can follow these steps:

Go to IGS Home Warranty
Click on Learn More under the homeowners section
Click on ‘Yes’
Click on ‘Service Centre’ and scroll down to fill the form
Enter your details and your problem in the description of the issue box
Submit the form

After submitting the claim, an IGS representative will contact you to confirm your details. When the process is completed, a contractor will reach out to you as soon as possible.

Note that the claim filing process and contact information for emergency claims will be mentioned in your service contract.

Igs Home Warranty States Availability

IGS Home Warranty services are only available in Ohio.

WHAT ARE THE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITS OF IGS WARRANTY CONTRACTS

IGS Home Warranty agreement is only applicable to the family residential homes under 5,000 square ft. If you want coverage for homes more than 5,000 square ft., multiple or mother-in-law units, and guest houses, you can opt for them at the time of enrollment under specific terms and conditions.

IGS Home Warranty will not cover any item having a pre-existing defect. This warranty does not include induction units, door glass, Wi-Fi parts, lighting, ac unit, camera inspections, racks, rollers, shelves, baskets, ice-and-beverage dispensers, cabinet liners, etc. IGS will also not pay for any damage caused by accidents, improper use, power surges, fire, and storms.

However, IGS will cover the replacement cost for systems and appliances which are not repairable. If the replacement costs exceed the maximum limits, the customer needs to pay the extra amount.

It should be noted that all protection limits will be applied in an aggregate amount for one year. IGS will pay each expense of every kind. For example, if the maximum limit of the inside electric line is $2000 and IGS pays $1000 for the repair, you will have $1000 of inside electric line protection remaining for the next 12 months.

IS IGS HOME WARRANTY WORTH THE MONEY?

IGS provides quick, efficient, and safe services. IGS may be the best fit for you if you find that they cover all the utility lines, home appliances and systems you need. Although they provide sufficient coverage, when compared to other home warranty service providers there are some drawbacks in their plans, like IGS’ basic plan not covering major systems and appliances. Also, despite being in the market for around 40 years IGS only offers services in Ohio.
