Fast forward and we are currently selling the home and the buyers just completed their inspection. Unfortunately for us they hired a a good inspector who actually did his job and found several things that have been a part of the home since before we purchased it. Examples of things Reid missed include altered roof tresses from a renovation that are not structurally sound and require a structural engineer to resolve, aluminum wiring in our electrical box (Reid specifically check this off in the 4 point inspection as no aluminum wiring present), 8 outlets that need to be grounded, missing GFI's, improper outdoor electrical outlets, etc. When I contacted BPG all I got was a bunch of denial and ignorance even though I could produce both reports. STAY FAR AWAY FROM BPG AND REID EVANS if you need home inspection services! ..View less

Among other issues, he pointed out roof flashing problems, which were causing leaks into the basement and clearly needed attention. However, he made no mention of the garage roof condition, which was fully visible in the unfinished garage. I expected to be out of pocket for flashing repairs and received funds from the seller at settlement based on the BPG inspection report. Upon further inspection from roofing companies, it was apparent that the extent of roof damage was much more extensive and I had no choice but to replace the entire roof. Every single sheet of garage roof plywood had to be replaced. No other portion of the roof had proportionately as much damage. I was not prepared to spend $22,000. Had I known how significant this issue was, I would have negotiated a fair allowance from the seller. ..View less

When the company came out they said the unit was in horrible shape , barely functioning within limits. THE COMPRESSOR WAS MECHANICALLY FAILING. When we summited the findings they found another repair company to say it was just an old unit. Well BPG 10 years ago when we started paying 400 a year the unit was young. I asked them to clean up the mess and fix it, but instead I got another letter that essentially said that since my wall was already cracked, nanny nanny boo boo, they could really do whatever they wanted to it. It seems to me the bottom line is that they should respect homes and homeowners. Their behavior has been UNPROFESSIONAL in the extreme. ..View less

Also, I had water pressure issues that finally got resolved through my plumber. I had no other choice but to use a local plumber because The dip stick plumber they sent out (the only one in their network) knew about as much about plumbing as my 4th grade son. After I got everything repaired to my satisfaction I was left with a $768.26 from my plumber. I say all this because I was informed that I would be covered 100% if I went out of their network. I have called numerous times and been placed on hold a total of 4 times totaling 3 hours. I have sent more that 10 emails to 3 different people that are suppose to be associated with BPG. However, I get the run around every time. It was just brought to my attention that BPG was in the process of being sold to Fidelity. It sad to say that makes a little more since to me now. I wanted to give every one a heads up to the hell I have been through trying to get reimbursed and with no end in sight. The only reason that I write this is to save someone the grief of BPG or Fidelity. I"d definitely find another company for my home warranty. ..View less

Used this company for home inspection. Missed over 3K worth in inspection and didn't accept liability as they write in contract not to pay over paid fees for inspection. Do not use this company as they have standard email for reply. They probably send out denial email 5 to 10 times a day. AVOID at all cost.

We have been without a microwave for 4 weeks, and it's just one excuse after another. 2 weeks ago they told us they were sending a "gift card"...nothing arrived. We are renters, and the landlord opted for a "gift card" to be sent to use for a replacement microwave. After 4 weeks, the gift card finally arrives, and it's for use ONLY at Home Depot. Why wouldn't they send a VISA or American Express gift card that could be used anywhere? Now we won't have the microwave for another week. After reading all these bad reviews, I can see I'm not the only one who feels this way. ..View less

Inspection done on a Wed. morning. As of Saturday morning I have yet to receive the report. Made several calls to 800 number and inspector himself. They act like it is not a problem. Promise to resolve ASAP. They said the same thing Thursday night, Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Maybe they are just too big.
