In April 2014, we purchased a Cert-Star Plan for a home we had purchased. Our dishwasher just broke and I have tried calling ALL numbers associated with this company. I just found out that they have gone bankrupt. We paid $398 for our plan. Does anyone know what our recourse is?

I have contacted the BBB, The insurance commission in IL and trying to find a record of BK filing. The company headquarters are in DuPage County Illinois which means Northern Illinois Court. I believe I was scammed out of $495 and want my money back. I left messages for service and never received any response prior to them supposedly filing BK. They had to know on Oct 2 2014 that they were closing the next day, if indeed they did. I have been told they kept taking money past that date, and I left messages past that date. ..View less

Certified Warranties Corporation has suffered financially in which lead to bankrbankruptcy. No new policies or money was taken into the company once this was stated. All claims have been paid prior to this decision.

What the neck.the least they could have done was give their customers some notice that they were going to leave high and dry instead of us having to find out via the internet.

I purchased home warranty from them in July 2014 after checking with BBB. On 10/20/2014, I thought of calling them for a service request. Found that their website is no longer available. The customer service phone number is disconnected. Searching online came to know that company has gone out of business. My question is who will refund my premium. How can I get back my money.

I'm not sure if this company is a scam or not. 6 weeks ago because of great reviews, i joined Certified Warranties. I was concerned when i sent them $495.00 6 weeks ago and they didn't even follow up with a welcome letter. I actually wasn't sure if i even had a warranty policy with them. I also must say that i have several properties and have always had home warranties on them. AHS was my last one. They weren't bad, I just wanted to try someone else for a change Today, my fridge started leaking water on to my hardwood floor. after spending several hours, i figured it out that the flap between water/ice door wasn't closing, basically the insulation into fridge was breached, thus letting warm air into my fridge. I immediately call Certified Warranties, after a few minutes on the phone they put me on hold, came back and said we don't cover it and that was it. end of conversation. It was my very first experience working with them. Here i sat with a broken fridge and they just kind of left me out to hang. I called back to customer service and right off the bat, they told me i could cancel my policy . I'm sure with a fee. They never did tell me if there would be a charge. I'm more flabbergasted that i sit here with a broken fridge with a warranty that doesn't work. I never wanted anything for free, i asked if they could at least send someone and I would pay them, i just needed my fridge from leaking on the floor. They insisted, without even having someone look at it, that it wasn't their problem. Wow, i'm floored. I'm a big boy and can figure this out. I always look at companies like these and think "Man, if that was my elderly mother or father that they did that too, they would really be in trouble" This company to me seems like a scam. I'm amazed after talking to 2 people from Certified Warranties, that I'm the only one that has been treated like this. i feel totally duped by these guys, since i bought there most expensive plan and it doesn't even cover the fridge. They did say it doesn't cover the ice machine. Well, the fridge still makes ice and the fridge stills gives me water. I don't want them to fix anything but the leak. Buyers beware, a very unpleasant experience, but on the bright side, they did say they would refund my money for the 6 week policy. Lets wait and see how much they charge me for cancelation LOL ..View less

I have been a satisfied customer of Certified Warranties for a couple of years now and I will surely be in the future too. I like this company and the warranty service that they provide is too damn good. Recently I had a water heater replaced and, like always, they were prompt and very helpful. I would recommend this company to anyone at any time.

I was contacted by the technician, who was very nice by the way, less than 24 hours after making the call. The repair was quick and I was very satisfied with the service. I even received a follow-up call to confirm that my AC was running perfectly. Thank you for the professionalism and efficiency.
