Choice Home Warranty (CHW) provides comprehensive home protection plans that repair and replace well maintained household appliances and systems. CHW says that when you purchase a warranty with them, you will be working with a knowledgeable and dedicated team which will resolve your issue swiftly.

The only thing a policyholder has to do when an appliance breaks down, is to call CHW and pay a nominal service fee. The company also caters to the needs for real estate professionals and take pride in the fact that homes clubbed with a CHW warranty, sells faster than a home sold without a warranty.
 

The company maintains a well equipped website that one can refer to in case any information regarding the company is needed. Claims can be submitted through this website which also has an FAQ section should you need to clarify doubts. Choice Home Warranty has been a pleasure to work with, from the time I called to get a quote, the sales agent was knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating. I had to have 2 services calls within two weeks (different repairs). One issue was covered under the warranty and the other wasn't. Even though the 2nd repair wasn't covered, Choice agreed to split the repair cost as a goodwill gesture. I am very satisfied. Will recommend Home Choice Warranty to anyone. view less

I'm not really pleased with Choice Home Warenty and will look to replace it when my contract is up. They respond in a timely manner, but when required to replace an appliance they don't take in to consideration the existing item and just search the internet for the least expensive item.

Recurring Problem with relatively new a/c that seller's a/c repairmen wasn't able to fix after 3 repair visits and $610 additional costs, turned to CHW. Was contacted by one of their contracted agencies the same day and problem resolved same day. Very professional.

Had a problem with the front burner on the oven. Repair company was assigned within 24 hours. Part needed to be ordered and the company communicated well and installation was arranged quickly after the part was received.

PLEASE BE AWARE!!!! This insurance will try their very best NOT to cover your broken appliances! They have denied my claim 3 time consecutively on three different occasion! This insurance company are just out for themselves and they manipulate what the technician says so they don't have to cover your claim!

My water heater began leaking late on a Friday night. I remembered I'd purchased a warranty package and went online and filed a claim. By 10:30 Saturday morning a plumber called who was about 45 minutes from me but came out anyway. I have filed 2 claims with this company and both claims were denied. First, my A/C went out and I was told by service tech that my A/C unit losing Freon - they denied saying issue must have been going on for a couple of months... duh... it might have but just all the sudden quit working which is the reason we called for service. How was I suppose to know it was leaking freon cause it was working until it quit. Second, my dryer quit working - denied saying proper maintenance wasn't done on it and lint got caught in it. Ok we clean the filter and filter area out after each use. I switch to this company because it was referred to me by a friend and was cheaper. BAD DECISION TO SWITCH. I had AHS for 8 years and never was denied any type of claim. I WOULD NOT recommend this company to anyone. view less

I wish I had time to look at reviews before I agreed to changing my policy at a random unsolicited sales call. I changed my service to Choice Home Warranty because it was $200 a year cheaper than my other policy. I had a sump pump go bad after 2 months of the policy start. They sent out a plumber (day1 off work) and I was told the claim was not covered. The serviceman left and I called to inquire because it was listed as covered in the policy booklet. I had to call Choice and the service company to get it straight. They finally said it was covered. after another day off work and 10 days later, they had to come back out for the repair. I also had a faucet leak last week and they said that was not covered. I looked at my previous policy and they would have covered it. Be very cautious about changing your policy. Choice has a very limited coverage policy. I ended up canceling the policy and they charged me $50 cancel fee and the $329 sump pump repair had to be paid back to them, too. I do not recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone that wants a comprehensive policy that actually covers your claim. They deserve a zero!! view less

The absolutely worst home warranty company ever. I will never use them again. Denied every A/C claim that I made with no explanation. I called them to get a explanation why my claim was denied and was told by their agents a/c parts are built to last. I ask what your definition of built to last mean and she put me on hold. She came back to the phone and stated again that my claim was denied. So I ask her what Choice definition of built to last is and then she stated 20 years. My unit is 18 years old and the technician that went out stated and that the part went out due to normal wear and tare. Needless to say, I've been paying them for 3 years and every time I called them they deny my claims. Save your money and run from this company fast. Make sure you read the fine print, they don't cover A LOT of common things. I had a less than two year old dishwasher last year that I had to jump through hoops to get a qualified company to look at and after three days of phone calls finally got someone out there who never did finish the job. A second company had to be called in who did finish the job and after Choice questioned the vendor about whether my house was clean and well maintained, they did not replace my dishwasher but sent me a check for a much lesser amount, due to depreciation, which took over a month to get. I just started another claim for my hot water heater and after being out of hot water and water in general for three days, they will not cover it because the tank is leaking. Their policy does state that they do not cover this if the tank is leaking so bad on me for not reading the policy better before I signed on, but the tank IS the hot water heater so makes no sense to me. There are other companies out there who DO cover things that Choice does not. While they may be less expensive per year, their coverage is terrible and they fight not to cover things. I'm done with them and have already signed on with a new company. view less

Choice Warranty have always been professional when we called. Always had a technician contacted within a day. Only one time was there confusion when they assigned a technician from another state. But the mistake was quickly cleared up. We have used this company for years and they have always been professional.

We had a claim but unfortunately because my son in law did not follow the proper process we were unable to utilize the warranty to its fullest. I must say everyone that I spoke to throughout out this claim process was very helpful. We are very satisfied with our warranty service plan.

When I signed the contract they said "we will fix it or replace it". They didn't fix and didn't replace my dryer when it's died.
They not fixed or replaced my air conditioner ether. They said "it has a rust in coil". I spoke with professional technician, who do it daily. He said, even new coil will have a rust in couple years, because of condensate. My air conditioner is much older, but they never mention any exclusions when they took my money on front. Even more, they said "it's doesn't matter how old your equipment is".

After we opened the first claim on the AC unit which stopped working, it took a while to get everything resolved which was about 3-4 weeks. We have 5 properties which we have purchase coverage for 5 years. We had to go round and round with CHW and after escalating the repair, we finally started to get the service which I expected the first time around. We ended up having to do a complete replacement on one of the two AC units. CHW did work with us to minimize the cost and a result of all of issues we had, upgraded all of coverage on our properties. A total rip off. Please be aware of this company. My AC was not blowing cool air and the company would not pay for needed repairs because of what they call wear and tear. The AC was only a year old.

The Service Tech. office called in less than an hour after I had called in about my microwave not working. The Service company was at my home within 24 hours after my call. Can't complain about that kind of turn-a-round time, it's excellent.

Unfortunately, I will now have to pick up the microwave from the store and install it myself because the reimbursement amount of money given didn't cover those charges. Now I will have to hire someone to help me unload the unit and install it. Aside from this fact, the response time is excellent. view less
