Fidelity National Home Warranty (FNHW) has been serving homeowners for over 20 years. The company began as Alliance Home Warranty in 1995 and was later acquired by Fidelity National Home Warranty in 1998. In 2000, the company acquired the Chicago Title, that had Chicago Home Warranty as a part. 2001 saw the two companies merge as one under the Fidelity National Home Warranty. In 2014 Fidelity Home sent a plumber who to fix the water main. However, this guy put the water pressure meter and shut off valve wrongly that I found out when we had sprinkler water pipe broken month and half ago. we called another plumber and was told that we could not turn off the water for the whole house as the previous plumber put the shutoff valve only on the inside home line and did not put it properly and the pipe broke due to too much pressure as the water pressure control meter is also put at the wrong place. I contacted Fidelity, it sent All Intercity plumbing for independent opinion and he gave the same opinion. Having two independent plumbers opinion Fidelity is giving me run around to take responsibility of its contractor's work and the contractor is very rude to talk to. I will not renew my policy with Fidelity anymore. view less

I wish I could put a negative star. They give you the run around. I have been without an AC for almost two weeks and no can give you an update. I have call their purchasing dept only to be on hold for 20 just to get their voicemail. It's over 100 outside and my shit is melting in my house and no one will help move this process faster. Worst customer service. After paying premium and collecting service call fee,you can expect Disrespectful, sarcastic and mean customer service representatives who wouldn't help you. Never ever buy home warranty from Fidelity national home warranty. They think and talk to customers like we are utterly foolish to buy home warranty contract with them.

It's been almost 2 months since we opened ticket for AC repair and they still did not fix it! And this is during the summer in Texas!!! They literally damped us for three different ac companies and after screwed up our parts order twice!!! Its just insane!!! Stay away from this company!! Our toilets and bathtub backed up. The plumber they sent out charged $65 and could do nothing for us. He did tell us he could use a camera but the company would not pay for it. He said he could then snake it at an extra charge but the company would not pay for it. We had to wait a half an hour to speak to Naomi in authorizations who who would not help us, gave us her interpretation of the paragraph that spoke of how they handle plumbing issues. I read the contract differently and feel the contract would/should cover the repair. She hung up on me when I asked to be connected to Jason her supervisor. We then looked at the reviews. The customer service is atrocious. I would much rather go to a company that is more expensive where I won't be hung up on whenever an agent decides I'm asking too many questions. They claim a supervisor will call you back but they never do. They are inconsistent. One agent tells you one thing and the next agent calls you crazy and doesn't believe what the other agent told you. Their contracted companies are horrible. I couldn't even get Air Star to send me an email let alone come and fix my furnace. If you ask for a different contractor they hassle you to no end and still tell you that there is nothing they can do. "There is nothing we can do" is there favorite phrase by the way. After the worst experience with them I decided to cash out and wait on my days for the contract to be over. It really was terrible. Nit happy with these guys. I keep renewing my
Home warranty because my house is older.
Dishwasher issue came up. The rep on the line straight up
Accused me of lying over the phone.
3 techs came to fix the dishwasher and still not working right. Dishes are not getting clean.
Now they decide to send me a letter saying that my dishwasher is not covered due to "normal wear and tear." Well thats pretty much why I and many others have and keep our home warranty.
Funny, the guy that called me 25 gazillion times trying to get me to renew the warranty had no problems using that in his pitch. view less

Our water heater went out on the weekend and they would not give us service until Monday. They installed a new water heater on Monday and did not strap it in fully or plug in the booster pump. Five days later the new water heater went out and was leaking. Again they would not give us service until Monday. They installed another hot water heater.We had to pay an extra $110 to hook up our existing booster pump. Now our booster pump does not work at all. The vendors these people use are relatively unresponsive to the needs of the customer and do poor work. All insurance is good until you need it. Do not buy from these people. view less

I have been with Fidelity for about 15 years now but I never really did my math until recently. I have had plumbing issues since the first year when we moved in to our house. Each time they would call a plumber just to clean out the clog. Until recently when I had a recurring problem a week after their plumber came to my house that I was told that the problem could not be fixed with just snaking the pipes. I hired my own plumber since the work is not covered under my plan and that's when I my plumber told me what the real problem is. Although my plumber did the work that Fidelity's plumber diagnosed, Fidelity informed me that they wouldn't cover any future plumbing issue until "I" get the other problem taken care even though their own plumber did not assess that on his report. I had a similar issue with them when my garage door kept getting stuck. For several years they would send someone but I get a recurring problem a few months after until I decided to replace the garage door, based on my own contractor's advice. Of course I had to shoulder the cost. Since I replaced it I never had the problem again and it's been several years now. I had been paying my yearly premium plus my deductibles each time I get service done when all the contractors that Fidelity sent just did a bandaid solution. Although their customer service for the service dept have been very friendly and responsive, overall I don't feel I am getting my money's worth and that Fidelity is not providing the real solution that I'm paying their company. It is just costing me more money paying them and hiring my own contractors to fix the real problem. view less

OMG, READ ALL REVIEWS before selecting this company. They do not cover a lot of things they say they do because of little hidden clauses. I have never been so dissatisfied with a company I do business with. I am considering dropping my contract and paying for the repairs so this company does not get any more of my money. i would have paid the repairs anyway. I am hoping something major breaks and they have to fix it so they actually lose money on me. Make sure you fully understand what they will pay for and how they can get out of it before you buy a contract. Read a full contract first, not a sample of one.

chilling in the coldest days of November 2015 with my newly born baby, the heater thermostat panel was down. Although telling the dispatch guys, it took 2 days for technician to come and then another 7 days to repair it. When called the company and explained the situation, the rude guy who was responsible told me that because they should buy the device at the cheapest price, it took time !!! and suggested me to go and buy electrical heaters to warm up the home ... Finally I had to do so and the loss imposed me including the heater device and electricity bill was more than the annual fee warranty. view less

My a/c unit went out and they had a company out within 1 day to check it out. The first company Allright air, did nothing and left with my home at 84 degrees and couldn't find anything wrong.I called them back and they sent out a company called Military Air, who condemned the inside and outside units.The units were replaced within a week and all I had to pay for was upgrades. Very Happy with Fidelity National and Military air.I AM A REALTOR AND WILL RECOMMEND THE TWO COMPANIES TO ALL MY CLIENTS FROM NOW ON!!! view less

We have paid for our coverage for over 14 years....everything was great easily a 4 star or better rating until now! We have had no hot water for five (5) days and still not resolved! The 1st company they sent out refused their directive to acquire a 75 gallon tank. 2nd company directed to show up and measure space before acquiring tank, shows up with tank that has too large a footprint and refuses to get another. 3rd company comes out and says they do not do anything over 50 gallon. I call for authorizations at Fidelity and they state that I have had my 2nd opinion...I explain not so (see above) agent agrees to do research and call back, no response. 2nd agent the same thing. Third agent reads notes, understands issue and suggests I speak with a supervisor. I leave a message, 5 hours later, no response. I call again, still no supervisor available. Agent suggests I leave a message and send a message on line. So here I am ...heading into day 6 with no hot water and no help from the companies they sent, the authorizations department or the supervisors. view less

I'm writing this review after a series of appliance issues in the past couple of weeks--heat pump wasn't working properly, washing machine stopped working, and a clogged drain line in the kitchen. I was feeling cursed! Fidelity enlisted the services of companies with reputable, punctual, professional technicians. All the issues were resolved in a timely manner. I think people often leave reviews when they are upset and dissatisfied, I know I have in the past. I want to be fair and give a good review when it is warranted. I've been pleasantly pleased with speed of dispatch on the part of Fidelity, the quality of the service companies and with the followup Fidelity has done to insure the problems have been resolved. I'm very happy with the company at this time. view less

Wow, I see all these other complaints and every single one is similar to my first warranty experience. They sent a spa technician out who did not call before arriving. Took him a week to determine it was the board after he "did some research". Then they don't cover the board. Then two hours later I get a call that they made a mistake, they do cover the board. I wait two weeks receiving e-mails saying my work has been approved, technician should be there to fix it. I contact Fidelity, and they say the work was denied, without notifying me of any such thing as the board is not covered. It is fairly obvious this company has no clue what they are doing. Needless to say, I will be hiring a second opinion, and if they determine it is not the board, Fidelity will be getting an earful... It is a hot tub, not rocket science. view less

UNPROFESSIONAL!!! DANGEROUS!! TERRIBLE!!! BEWARE!!! They represent companies that allow people out to your home with out identification.
It took 2 hours for someone to call me back for a dispatch. Then the plumber said he would be out in an hour and half. When he got to my community, he had no identification on him.

"THE WORST" There full of hot air! Have had 2 contracted companies here. Both were losers. Unprofessionals!!! One Vendor brought his son with him and tried to tell jokes to his son while working. This vendor just wore a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes! He was called to fix a 18 yearold water heater. Before seeing it he tells me he hurt his back. I knew then no way will he replace this water heater. Later he told me he would not replace it until it leaks big time from where its located on my 3rd floor! Fidelity never has asked me for a survey as they had promised to me. They really save a lot of $ buy hiring these loser companies. Ive had 2 major problems in less than one year but no fix for my air conditioner they came up with an excuse I never understood and I had paid $300 before they came out to look at my air conditioner. but my water heater works "better" than it did but have and continue to have issues with this 18 year old heater. I never get hot water 24/7. So i can continue to pay $65 for a visit but how many times before the issue is fixed? 2 years ago I had to call 4 times for just a garbage disposable. Finally, I was told Yes you need a new one. So i paid enough $ to but my own and this is whats happens with Fidelity!

Worst vendors ever. Worst customer service ever! Vendors will show up without advanced coordination. Vendors make false statemens. Company canceled claim without notification. Had claims open for three and two months and vendor claims they need to come back to do research for a kitchen faucet leak.

One word,"Elders Abuse" I'm 87 years old and have been treated like crap, left without no heating systems for over 3 months, I have file a claim with the California Department of Insurance, maybe the word will be out what type of company is ripping for a 87 year women?

Horrible! My dishwasher started leaking weeks after moving in. I called and Fidelity contacted who they contract with and they came out. After multiple times of waiting my 4 hour window for the appliance technician I am still without a working dishwasher. I called the home warranty company again and explained that this would be the 5th time they would be sending someone out and now the water from the dishwasher is ruining my floor. I asked if they would just credit me so that I could buy a new dishwasher. They said no and that they would be sending out the SAME company that hasn't been able to fix our problem the last month and a half. This is ridiculous. Fidelity does not use reliable companies to fix appliances and what do they care that I have now wasted 16 hours waiting for a repair man? view less

I am surprised with the negative comments because we have had Fidelity for almost 2 years, and have had great service. We purchased a newer home thinking we would not have very many issues. Multiple systems have gone out, including air, heat, plumbing, ovens, garage doors and more. We have had an excellent response time on all occasions, the service professionals were very customer focused and fixed the problem each time. We have no complaints with Fidelity or their vendors. view less
