My AC died last week and it turned into a complicated thing to an extent. It was blowing warm air so I called them and they had someone out pretty quickly the next day. They could not find the problem and said I had a leak somewhere. 3 different tests and finally they found it and they had to schedule a second appointment to finally find it to look for the dye. Meanwhile I'm hot and now they say they have to order the part and it has to be shipped to us and it took two more days. Once they had the part they could not come until the next day for the repair so the total thing took like a week. They tell me it's not an easy repair and my AC is older and the part is not always available but finally it is fixed. I gave them a good rating because they called me pretty much every day and even though I was miserable I knew everything was happening as fast as it could. I am just so glad to have air again. view less

It seems like these reviews are either really good or really bad. I guess it has to do with whether your claim is accepted or declined. Anyways - mine was accepted. My washing machine was leaking so I couldn't use it. We have Four kids in the house you can imagine mountains of clothes piled up FAST. Called up Globe and a guy came out the next day. I have just a regular washer not one of those that look like a space ship. He showed me inside it a leaking pump and he left to get one. I am a real estate professional and I deal with many home protection plans and I am under contract with Globe home protection plan right now. I have paid for their Stellar plan so everything would be covered. The refrigerator stopped working and after rounds and weeks of back and forth with the warranty company reviewing if they would repair or replace the appliance they decided they would repair compressor on 15 yr old fri but then told me very rudely that they could not repair or replace the frig because the serial # was not legible. So I had to go out and replace my refrigerator myself even with the so called STELLAR PLAN ! Staff is very rude ! They screen your calls and won't answer phone. I have called several times that I have a water leak in my house and they have not even had a plumber call me ! It's been a week !! Please save yourself from the aggravation do not use Globe Home Protection. There is no such thing as 24/7 rapid response. only 9-6 mon -friday if your lucky and they take your call. I had a situation last week that Globe helped me with. My garbage disposal literally cracked in half and started leaking water everywhere. So I called them up and let them know what was going on. Next thing you know I get a call from a plumber and he's out here the next day. He made a quick call to Globe and them put another disposal in. My pool was opened about a month ago and we have been enjoying it as we have been hitting the 90's. The pump stopped working over the weekend so I called up Globe and placed my claim. They had a local company out today that I have used myself in the past. It was nice that I was familiar with the pool company and had experience working with this company. It was the motor that failed and Globe authorized the repair. I wanted my grids changed out but they would not cover the replacement. They state they don't cover the grids so a paid to change them myself. It was time as it has been a few years. Everything taken into account it was a good experience. I have looked at a few different warranties and decided on Globe Home. Out of all of the ones I looked at they seemed to be the best priced and the coverage is good. Also not many of the companies sell direclty to the public unless you are buying a house. I called for my first problem last week. When I called I was able to get someone on the phone right away an they helped me right away. I got a leak in the pipe in the garage and I didn't notice it until the morning I heard a hissing and found it. The whole wall was wet and water was flowing down the driveway. When I called they told me to shut off the water and they sent a plumber. He cut a whole in the wall and it was fixed in an hour. Warranties are something that if they aren't too expensive I will go for. I had a drill I bought at Lowes years ago that was replaced with a new one because of the warranty and I have opted for extended warranties ever since. I have had mixed results but my Globe warranty has been great. My AC started leaking water last week and I emailed them for a service call. The person that handled my claim was pretty good about placing the claim but kept on emphasizing that Globe does not cover clogged AC drain lines. That was the only annoying thing but they got a contractor out the next morning. It turned out it was not a clogged drain line and my AC was freezing and a block of ice. Once they found out it was a covered problem I was impressed with this company. They "sprung into action" and placed a new part on order. The contractor left to pick up the part and was back that afternoon. The repair took a while and he finally left about 7 at night. Globe was able to make the repair in one day. It took ALL day - but still one day. That's dedicated and efficient which is needed in this part of the country. This is a warranty that I would keep because they performed well once it was identified as covered by the warranty. view less

I am very satisfied with the service so far. I only recently moved in and I have called on Globe to change my locks and they have replaced a ceiling fan that went out. The service is relatively easy to use although it takes a good ten minutes to call in a claim. From what I can see in checking out other companies I probably should not be complaining. Staff is knowledgeable and informative especially the reps in the sales department. I kept one on the phone for some time asking all of my questions before I bought the service. The claims people are pretty efficient and followed up with me almost daily so all in all they are doing a great job. view less

I chose Globe because I know someone that had them and they had pretty good reviews by warranty standards. It is a good thing I went with them because I just had a pretty bad deal go on at my house and they did what they said they were going to do. A drain line had busted and was dumping brown water into my crawlspace every time we used the anything in the house. I called the warranty company and they had someone out the next day. The plumber replaced a section of pipe in the floor and took care of the problem. No problems with Globe they approved it over the phone with the plumber. Dealing with them was not a big issue it was just business. Which is the way I like things handled. view less

I can highly recommend this company. This warranty was purchased by the sellers of the home we just purchased. It came with my home and I am definitely happy it did. I ran a load of laundry last week and the water would not drain so I pulled the clothes out and after a couple of days the water started to stink! I should have called it in right away but now it was becoming unbearable. I called Globe and let them know what was going on and they had a repair company in touch next day. They came out and did what they did and got that aweful smell out of my house. Greetings from Kingston, I would like to tell you about my situation with this company. I had a hot water heater problem as it would not give me more than 5 minutes of hot water. I called Globe and they got a plumber in contact with me and we worked out a time for him to come out. When he got here he told me that the water hater was full of sediment - sand and dirt build up from the hard water around here. He asked me if I ever flushed the water heater and I never had. I didn't even know that I had to do something like this! So this is where it got interesting because most of their plans do not cover sediment. Homeowners are supposed to know we have to do flush it periodically. Only their Stellar plan covers my kind of problem. Luckily I had their best plan and they went ahead and replaced it which saved me headache and a lot of money. It worked out great for me but you have to read the plans and get the right coverage. I would always get the best plan. It's a little more cost but its worth the extra $50 dollars. view less

Well I had a good experience! I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time. Globe helped in my situation and so I am pleased. I had to use them for a problem this past week. Of course an air conditioning problem. I called and they had a AC person out pretty quick. They were able to have a him out about a day and a half of me calling. Another warranty scam. Something goes out that says is covered by the warranty and they tell you it has to be approved by the review board then they claim it isn't covered. Not mentioned in the contract. Will be filing a complaint with my states Attorney Generals office for fraud.

A good overall experience with Globe so far... My heater stopped working last week and it feels like we are still in the middle of winter here in Chicago. I called last Monday and spoke with a nice young man who took my claim. A repair company was in contact later that day for my appointment. When they arrived he offered me a detailed explanation of what happened. The motor in the heater stopped working and they left to go to the supply house. Once they came back it was only about a half an hour later and they were able to get it working again. Everything occurred just about how I thought it would work. It's just trouble whenever things like this happen. A day off work and having to deal with repair people and time frames. It's never fun. My home does have heat again so I should not complain... I hope I do not have to use them again but it's easier to deal with them than to handle it myself. Of course, my issue was covered under the warranty this time. Hey Globe! What a warranty company! They did great for me last week. I had a problem with my refrigerator and they really came through. The whole thing was dead and not cooling or freezing a thing. I called Globe in and their guy found a bad compressor. A few days later and I'm up and running! I saved a bundle because of them. I would give them 5 stars but I NEVER give 5 stars. There's always room for improvement if you look hard enough. They did good though. view less

I bought my house a few month ago with The home Warranty from Globe Home Protection. My refrigerator quit working after 3 days of dealing with the customer service department and service tech someone finally came out and told me it was the control panel. I was told be the claims department this was not covered because of power outage. After looking at the contract there is nothing that warranty does cover. The way the contract is written they can say everytime that is not covered the list of items not covered is a paragraph long. The items that are covered is only 1 sentences long. This company is the biggest crooks I have ever dealt with. I will be telling everyone I know buying or thinking about buying Home warranty Plan not to go with company. view less

I had a great experience with Globe. I thought there was something wrong with my dishwasher but was not sure if I should call. It was leaving dishes dirty but it was running so I was not sure if there was something really wrong. Possibly I was overloading it or if I needed to switch soaps but I called Globe and spoke with a gentleman and he went over what it possibly could be. He was very knowledgeable about dishwashers and basically left it up to me to decide whether to go through with the claim. If there was nothing wrong with it then I would lose my $75 deductible. Based on what the representative told me I decided to call someone out. It turned out that one of the sprayer arms was bad and there was a problem with it. The appliance person ordered the parts and returned and fixed it! I knew there was something going on with it. I am glad I called and spoke with Globe. They were very helpful. view less

This winter has been so brutal it's unbelievable how cold it's been getting. It gets down to 7 degrees at night and only got to 31 as a high today. My furnace stopped working over the weekend and people can die in this kind of weather. I called their emergency claims line and I left a message. I received a call back within several minutes and spoke with a gentleman that said he could help with a contractor. It was Saturday morning and he was able to make it to my home late afternoon. I made due with a space heater until then. The contractor was able to fix my furnace and get my heat back on. I was so grateful to feel the heat coming from my vents! I did not want to imagine trying to get through the night with it not working. Globe really came through for me and were there when I needed them. I can vouch for this company and would recommend. Absolutely horrible customer service and standing behind their warranties without ungodly run-round and effort. If you want to keep your sanity and make sure that someone does what they say they are going to do without a run around and seemingly without trying to make you give up on holding them to a contract, I would suggest you avoid Globe Home Protection like the plague. Also, the people they hire as contractors to fix things leave much to be desired as well. Don't forget to read the fine print. If THEIR contractor damages something in the process of fixing something they do cover (however slowly they respond) they don't cover that and won't help you get the problem resolved. Save yourself some heartache, time and money. Avoid this company. view less

If I can choose again, I will not use globe home warranty. 24 hours and 7 days service is a joke. You can only reach someone for help Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. Their customer service provide inconsistent messages. The service technician came over to diagnose the issue and decided to turn down the job just because customer service told me to ask them to verify if the problem is solved before the technician leaves. The technician turned down the job again when I mentioned I would like to call Globe home warranty just in case if you have any questions onsite. We were threatened for multiple times throughout the conversations and feel unsafe. Furthermore, I called the home warranty mentioned the technician turned down the job, they told me I have to stick with the technician or find another contractor and they will reimburse the replacement cost up to $125 MINUS the $75 service fee. They also told us that the technician can do whatever they want. We don't think we were treated like customer and feel like we are their burden to the home warranty company and service technician. They tried to charge you $75 service fee multiple times for different issues of the same appliance/equipment. The whole process is very slow and ridiculous. Stay away from this Globe home warranty company. view less

Received this company with a new home purchase and due to time to receive the information about who this company was (ie contact info or name of company) our payment was late (you have 14days to send in the payment or they revert to a 30day waiting period before activating a your policy is active like a new NON-home purchase policy)
They did not work with me to reduce this or even listen to complaints. Thankfully I do not have any issues at this time but the rude nature of their employees I will not be going another year with this company.
I will spend more on a policy for good customer service. view less

I would never recommend this company, period. I purchased a home this fall and the seller's secured a warranty with them as an incentive to the buyer. As with all warranties, you don't know what you have until you have to use it and immediately, upon move in, I found myself in a situation not of my doing and needed to use the warranty. Basically, the seller disconnected power so on my day of move in, I could not perform a walk through (no electricity). We soon discovered a burned out power box to the HVAC (covered by warranty, right?). Well, via my agent I entered a claim and then I waited... and waited... and waited. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I called and no one would return a phone call. My agent reached and they immediately responded...huh? I"m the home owner. After waiting four months for a refund, I instead get a lengthy email forwarded to me by agent explaining what the company will not cover. Yep, essentially not covering an issue that happened on the day of move in BEFORE closing... I just can't say enough about doing your homework and if a seller offers you this warranty, decline it. view less
