OneGuard was established in Arizona in 1990 by entrepreneurs who were dissatisfied with the loopholes in coverage and speed and quality of service provided by other home warranty companies. The company claims to have introduced a warranty that covered more, with fewer limits and built a network of qualified service technicians to repair appliances and systems. OneGuard not only raised the bar for traditional home warranties, but took it a step further by being one of the first in the industry to include home services, like carpet cleaning, window washing, rekey, and more, so customers get the best value.

Since its founding, they have expanded to Texas and Nevada and have become one of the Southwest’s fastest growing and most trusted home warranty and service companies. OneGuard believes in providing world-class customer care to all of its customers and strives to continuously improve its service. In fact, customer satisfaction is surveyed after each service call.

OneGuard offers 24/7 customer service over the phone or online. OneGuard maintains a website that is designed to assist customers with common questions, including live chat. Customers may also create an account online to manage their plans. Information regarding the companies policies, FAQs and contact information is available on the website.

OneGuard claims to provide home warranties that offer the most coverage with the fewest of limitations. The company also claim that they do not perform any band-aid repairs. If a damage cannot be repaired, OneGuard will replace it for you. In addition to comprehensive home warranties, OneGuard offers home services, like pest and termite control, carpet cleaning, etc. OneGuard has plans suited for existing homeowners, as well as, home buyers and sellers. In addition, real estate agents can make use of some of the marketing tools provided by OneGuard as part of the Certified Pre-Owned Home program. OneGuard also claims to be one of the few companies that provide coverage for unknown pre-existing conditions for home buyer plans.

NOTE: In December 2011, the company changed it’s name to One Guard Home Warranty. The company was operating under the name of Service One Home Warranty till date.

Having been a customer of One Guard for a few years now I have nothing but great things to say about them. Last summer my AC went out which is a big deal in AZ, my house was over 100 degrees inside. All repair company's were swamped but I called and spoke with Michelle O. and she bent over backwards to find someone to come out the same day, she personally called several companies till she found one. Fast forward to this week, major plumbing issue, called and sure enough got Michelle O on the phone again. Again she listened to my concerns and did a fantastic job helping me resolve my issue. We recently had a service call for our refrigerator that had quit working. The technician determined that it was not repairable. Working with Tina she expedited the claim and arranged for a new fridge within a day. We received the replacement the following day.

I have had OneGuard since we bought our home 2 1/2 years ago. I had done some research on different warranty companies and felt that OneGuard was a good fit for us. I have not been disappointed. We have had plumbing work, appliance work, and A/C work done. Our recent issue was with my washing machine. OneGuard determined that it was better to replace my old unit instead of fixing it. We have had One Guard coverage for 13 years and we would never be without it. Wonderful service. Tina and Kathy were wonderful in dealing with my recent dryer replacement. Contractors are always very prompt, courteous and helpful in dealing with problems.

With my husbands work, we average moving every two years so we have had a lot of different home warranties. Onegaurd is by far the best home warranty company we have ever had. They are quick to respond and always send professionals to our house. Onegaurd warranty has the best extra options available as well. If I could give them more than five stars I would.

DO NOT use this company. They do not return requested calls to managers and their vendors are not reliable.
We waited for over 24 hours for a return call from the vendors which never came. In addition, a request to speak to a One Guard manager NEVER came.
The electrical vendor, ALL AMERICAN ELECTRICAL SERVICES took over a week to schedule and the problem came up again the same afternoon that the repair was supposed to be done.
To add insult to injury, their return schedule was over a week out!
The technician, RODNEY, who claimed to have a stellar history of ALL electrical issues, was as bad as they get.

I bought my home about 10 years ago and didn't know anything about home warranties. My Keller Williams agent, Sue, suggested the predecessor company to OneGuard. I almost immediately had a mechanical issue and was pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and their pleasant and professional manner. Both their pre-season check-ups and tune-ups as well as their response to urgent situations has been quite exceptional. Their choice of service providers has been excellent. I have been with One Guard for about 9 years. They are the best. I have heard such horror stories from friends who use other companies. One Guard has great contractors and they come as quick as they can, or the companies number is given for you to follow up yourself. If something is not fixed correctly, they keep coming back until it is. Their customer service is very nice and helpful.

In the past few months I have had problems with leaking faucets and a leaky dishwasher. Each time, the service technicians dispatched by OneGuard were friendly and professional. The plumbing was repaired, and I have a new dishwasher. A big thanks to Jerry for helping with the dishwasher replacement. Overall, I am surprisingly pleased with their service.

And as I read through these reviews I find than anyone who has given a bad rating only gets an "I'm sorry" from this company. Every person I have dealt with gets very hostile over the phone. This company is a fraud. They gave me one reason they wouldn't fix my AC (it was an assumption on their part) then when I got another company to come out and they proved it wasn't what the company said it was they changed their wording and said that it still wasn't covered. Please be assured OneGuard has always acted in good faith in our efforts to serve you and within the parameters of the warranty agreement. Per the terms of the service contract, OneGuard requires that covered items are in good working condition upon the effective date of the home warranty. The information on your home inspection report, which was performed prior to closing on the home, noted the air conditioning system was not working with the recommendation of further evaluation and repairs as needed. Please know we are very sorry that the documentation you presented was not sufficient to show the marked deficiencies were adequately addressed prior to the warranty start date, and the unit in need of repairs at the onset of the warranty. We came home from vacation to discover that the refrigerator was not working--a puddle of water was on the floor. Ten days later and a new refrigerator has just been installed. OneGuard worked with me to get a repair person out as quickly as possible to diagnose the problem and then Tina L. was great in laying out my options for replacement. I have been a customer for almost 2 years and never had to use the warranty until today. Shari was AWESOME in customer service. She set the expectation perfectly and educated me about regulatory changes that affect my home. She said I would receive call within 4 hours, which my issue was resolved within that time - about 3 hours from when I called, the contractor was leaving!! He was professional, prompt, called on his way and my garage door is working great!! I am super happy with the warranty and the vendor!! view less

My washing machine broke and needed repair. I completed a service request online and someone came to my home with 2 business days. My washing machine needed to receive services in office so another appointment was made to pick up my washer. My washer needed multiple things fixed so Tina with OneGuard stepped in to provide options. Tina was wonderful to work.

Worst company I've dealt with in a long time. Rude customer service, poor communication, and vague policies. One Guard's policies cover the company, not the homes/pools... they insure.
After calling to get a repair for pool equipment that came with our home, we were told that the equipment was old and therefore had pre-existing problems. A small leak had been flagged on our inspection that the previous owner fixed.
We were told that we needed to have a professional repair equipment before One Guard would insure it - even though the owner had the identified problem fixed.
So, what exactly is this policy for? view less

One Guard Home Warranties

Dear Sharon Grassi, Thank you for bringing this information to our attention and allowing Customer Relations the opportunity to review your situation firsthand and clarify important information. Please be assured OneGuard has always acted in good faith in our efforts to serve you and within the parameters of the warranty agreement, and we sincerely regret your dissatisfaction with the outcome of the claim. According to the terms of the service contract, OneGuard requires that covered items are in working condition upon effective date. The claim for the pool equipment was not covered by OneGuard due to improper repairs performed on the equipment, and condition of the equipment that was in effect prior to the start of the home warranty based on information documented in the home inspection report. Please note OneGuard does not refuse coverage based on age. Additionally, OneGuard arranged for two separate contractors to assess the pool equipment on your behalf, and both independent parties provided the same diagnosis regarding the condition of the pool equipment.



Please know we have honored your request and cancelled the warranty, and have issued a prorated refund per the parameters of the service agreement. The premium paid for the warranty on June 30, 2017, was $1124.00. The warranty was cancelled on July 17, and the refunded amount was $1021.65 which includes premium used in the amount of $52.35 and a $50.00 administration fee. Please find the verbiage from your service agreement: In the event that a Home Buyer’s or a Renewal Customer’s contract is cancelled any time after the effective date, the contract holder shall be entitled to a pro-rata refund of the paid plan fee for the unexpired term less (a) any unpaid service fees and (b) a $50.00 administration fee. Cancellation of this warranty must be in writing.
