OneGuard was established in Arizona in 1990 by entrepreneurs who were dissatisfied with the loopholes in coverage and speed and quality of service provided by other home warranty companies. The company claims to have introduced a warranty that covered more, with fewer limits and built a network of qualified service technicians to repair appliances and systems. OneGuard not only raised the bar for traditional home warranties, but took it a step further by being one of the first in the industry to include home services, like carpet cleaning, window washing, rekey, and more, so customers get the best value.

Since its founding, they have expanded to Texas and Nevada and have become one of the Southwest’s fastest growing and most trusted home warranty and service companies. OneGuard believes in providing world-class customer care to all of its customers and strives to continuously improve its service. In fact, customer satisfaction is surveyed after each service call.

OneGuard offers 24/7 customer service over the phone or online. OneGuard maintains a website that is designed to assist customers with common questions, including live chat. Customers may also create an account online to manage their plans. Information regarding the companies policies, FAQs and contact information is available on the website.

OneGuard claims to provide home warranties that offer the most coverage with the fewest of limitations. The company also claim that they do not perform any band-aid repairs. If a damage cannot be repaired, OneGuard will replace it for you. In addition to comprehensive home warranties, OneGuard offers home services, like pest and termite control, carpet cleaning, etc. OneGuard has plans suited for existing homeowners, as well as, home buyers and sellers. In addition, real estate agents can make use of some of the marketing tools provided by OneGuard as part of the Certified Pre-Owned Home program. OneGuard also claims to be one of the few companies that provide coverage for unknown pre-existing conditions for home buyer plans.

NOTE: In December 2011, the company changed it’s name to One Guard Home Warranty. The company was operating under the name of Service One Home Warranty till date.

Wish I could give zero stars. DO NOT USE THIS HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. Worst company I've ever had to deal with. Very bad customer service. And as I read through these reviews I find than anyone who has given a bad rating only gets an "I'm sorry" from this company. Every person I have dealt with gets very hostile over the phone. This company is a fraud. They gave me one reason they wouldn't fix my AC (it was an assumption on their part) then when I got another company to come out and they proved it wasn't what the company said it was they changed their wording and said that it still wasn't covered. We came home from vacation to discover that the refrigerator was not working--a puddle of water was on the floor. Ten days later and a new refrigerator has just been installed. OneGuard worked with me to get a repair person out as quickly as possible to diagnose the problem and then Tina L. was great in laying out my options for replacement. She set the expectation perfectly and educated me about regulatory changes that affect my home. She said I would receive call within 4 hours, which my issue was resolved within that time - about 3 hours from when I called, the contractor was leaving!! My washing machine broke and needed repair. I completed a service request online and someone came to my home with 2 business days. My washing machine needed to receive services in office so another appointment was made to pick up my washer. My washer needed multiple things fixed so Tina with OneGuard stepped in to provide options. Tina was wonderful to work.

Worst company I've dealt with in a long time. Rude customer service, poor communication, and vague policies. One Guard's policies cover the company, not the homes/pools... they insure.
After calling to get a repair for pool equipment that came with our home, we were told that the equipment was old and therefore had pre-existing problems. A small leak had been flagged on our inspection that the previous owner fixed.
We were told that we needed to have a professional repair equipment before One Guard would insure it - even though the owner had the identified problem fixed.

Dear Sharon Grassi, Thank you for bringing this information to our attention and allowing Customer Relations the opportunity to review your situation firsthand and clarify important information. Please be assured OneGuard has always acted in good faith in our efforts to serve you and within the parameters of the warranty agreement, and we sincerely regret your dissatisfaction with the outcome of the claim. According to the terms of the service contract, OneGuard requires that covered items are in working condition upon effective date. The claim for the pool equipment was not covered by OneGuard due to improper repairs performed on the equipment, and condition of the equipment that was in effect prior to the start of the home warranty based on information documented in the home inspection report. Please note OneGuard does not refuse coverage based on age. Additionally, OneGuard arranged for two separate contractors to assess the pool equipment on your behalf, and both independent parties provided the same diagnosis regarding the condition of the pool equipment.



Please know we have honored your request and cancelled the warranty, and have issued a prorated refund per the parameters of the service agreement. The premium paid for the warranty on June 30, 2017, was $1124.00. The warranty was cancelled on July 17, and the refunded amount was $1021.65 which includes premium used in the amount of $52.35 and a $50.00 administration fee. Please find the verbiage from your service agreement: In the event that a Home Buyer’s or a Renewal Customer’s contract is cancelled any time after the effective date, the contract holder shall be entitled to a pro-rata refund of the paid plan fee for the unexpired term less (a) any unpaid service fees and (b) a $50.00 administration fee. Cancellation of this warranty must be in writing.

If I can give no star I would have. It's been a waste of time and money for dealing with this company my sink been leaking for a week now. I called in last week to report the sink leaking and request a service there was no one available until the following week during the weekend the top part of the facceut came off and the small black piece inside it fell into the disposal. Right when the "plumber" came in it was like a crime investigation. All what they were doing is trying to find an excuses so they don't fix it. Please note OneGuard covers for mechanical breakdowns that result from normal wear-and-tear conditions. The technician that assessed the broken faucet informed Authorizations that an insert from inside the faucet was removed and fell into the garbage disposal, subsequently being destroyed by the disposal blades. You advised that you attempted to glue the piece back together and that it fell into the sink. Please know we sincerely regret the outcome of the claim that is not covered due to the breakdown that did not result from normal wear-and-tear. Please refer to the section and item number listed for specific verbiage:



B. CONTRACT HOLDER’S OBLIGATIONS 1.Contract holder is responsible for normal maintenance of covered equipment according to the manufacturer required maintenance guidelines located in the Owner’s Manual. 2. When a failure occurs, turn covered item off, protect it from further damage and call OneGuard at 1-888-896-0014 or enter information in the OneGuard customer portal at OneGuardHW.com. Should contract holder fail to protect the covered item from further damage, the consequential damage is not covered.

This company has more bang for the buck regarding items covered under their policy.

My complaint has to do with their pre season maintenance program appointments. It was futile to set up a time window for service...waited until 5 pm for an 11 am appointment without receiving updates from the company. I had to call for updates which were ambiguous at best. Those customers without AC were the priority.

My question is "Why would a customer be motivated to schedule a maintenance call again with such a poor level of service?"

One Guard is the best warranty company. I have had a few times I have had to call them and every time was a great experience. They are fast to make it happen and send out only the best people you need.
Just replaced my microwave. I got the same microwave that I loved and installation was easy because it was the same microwave.
Need I say more!!!

On my contract there are a list of additional items I can add. I called to add sprinkler system and they said, that i could only add within 30 days of my contract renewal, I'm 40 days out. And what about diagnosis of the problem, i had a problem, thought it was plumbing a plumber came, they said it was sprinkler, no work was done, still had to pay.

Please note in order to assess the situation and determine next steps, our contractors are required to review the situation firsthand. In your situation, the plumber was dispatched to the home and discovered a broken sprinkler line which would be repaired by a party that specializes in irrigation systems. Per the terms of the OneGuard agreement, the service fee applies when a contractor is dispatched to the home. In addition, we apologize you do not have sprinkler coverage and the timeframe passed to add the sprinkler system. Killed bugs and they have stayed gone for a year. Promptly checked out a water heater problem. Fixed a leak under my home that was very hard to get at. Good service.

Called One Guard Home Warranty to place a service request for our ice maker. After questioning the rep (Bill) on whether this was a covered service item or not, I was very pleased to receive his clear, honest description of that coverage. And after he kindly spent time to answer my continuing questions, I had received all the insight needed in order to not end up paying the $69 service fee for something that wouldn't be covered anyway... Very good response time. A few years ago we had a problem with a incompetent plumber but that was resolved. The contractors they currently use seem knowledgable and competent. I have no problems with this company - I have four home warranty policies with them and they handle claims and responses in a very professional manner.

Did a great job of expediting my service needs! She worked very well with Spencer electronics who went over and above!!
