OneGuard was established in Arizona in 1990 by entrepreneurs who were dissatisfied with the loopholes in coverage and speed and quality of service provided by other home warranty companies. The company claims to have introduced a warranty that covered more, with fewer limits and built a network of qualified service technicians to repair appliances and systems. OneGuard not only raised the bar for traditional home warranties, but took it a step further by being one of the first in the industry to include home services, like carpet cleaning, window washing, rekey, and more, so customers get the best value.

Since its founding, they have expanded to Texas and Nevada and have become one of the Southwest’s fastest growing and most trusted home warranty and service companies. OneGuard believes in providing world-class customer care to all of its customers and strives to continuously improve its service. In fact, customer satisfaction is surveyed after each service call.

OneGuard offers 24/7 customer service over the phone or online. OneGuard maintains a website that is designed to assist customers with common questions, including live chat. Customers may also create an account online to manage their plans. Information regarding the companies policies, FAQs and contact information is available on the website.

OneGuard claims to provide home warranties that offer the most coverage with the fewest of limitations. The company also claim that they do not perform any band-aid repairs. If a damage cannot be repaired, OneGuard will replace it for you. In addition to comprehensive home warranties, OneGuard offers home services, like pest and termite control, carpet cleaning, etc. OneGuard has plans suited for existing homeowners, as well as, home buyers and sellers. In addition, real estate agents can make use of some of the marketing tools provided by OneGuard as part of the Certified Pre-Owned Home program. OneGuard also claims to be one of the few companies that provide coverage for unknown pre-existing conditions for home buyer plans.

NOTE: In December 2011, the company changed it’s name to One Guard Home Warranty. The company was operating under the name of Service One Home Warranty till date.

Tina at One Guard is an All Star! She put in a lot of time to help us replace a Jenn Aire wall oven, and ensure that we received the correct model. Over the last 20 years, I have used several different home warranty companies in different states and experienced major issues with all of the them - from billing problems, to scheduling, to using horrible contractors. Since moving to Houston a few years ago, I have used One Guard. During that time, One Guard has repaired or replaced various appliances/systems in our home. Love this company. Makes home repairs so much easier when all you have to do is call one place and let them take care of the rest.

I was having an issue with my heater. Contractor came out and said there was nothing wrong with it. They came out during the day when it was warm so it was hard to tell if it was really working. Later that evening when it was much colder it was obvious there was an issue. My OneGuard agent followed up with me that same day. When I told her it still wasn't working she had the contractor back out that same night. At 9:00 in the evening!

It's really nice when your agent is diligent about getting their customers taken care of. Shannon Lopez really gives a personal touch to the already outstanding service and value that OneGuard prides itself on. view less

Horrible Service. I was a Oneguard customer for 4 years. I ended my insurance when I had to pay $6,000 out of pocket for an AC unit that Oneguard managed to classify as secondary damage. Despite having issues with this unit and Oneguard contractors out to repair it multiple times. Not only that, they delayed telling me that they would not cover it, as I sat in Texas with no air conditioning. When told that they were not covering it, they did zero to help me figure out a solution to the problem.

In addition, Customer service was unhelpful. Each time I had to request service, I sat on the phone a minimum of 45 minutes.

One Guard is outstanding and worth every penny. Seller pd for warranty on home we purchased in AZ. One Guard honored their contract and sent out companies they vetted who were professional and skilled. Never had a home warranty company that actually honored contract as well as provide other services like rekeying house on site, garage door tune-up and recoding remotes, window washing, dryer vent cleaning, pest spraying, etc for only $65 the first year and $69 second year. I've been calling One Guard all week trying to schedule service for my dishwasher and I have yet to get someone to answer the phone. I've tried leaving a call back number twice, and only once did someone call me back. However, I missed the call. I'm also upset that I have had my dishwasher serviced 2 or 3 times already and I'm still having the same issue.

I think it's good to remember that One Guard, like all other businesses, needs to make money and is not a charity. I think they are pretty good about being upfront about what is/isn't covered. I did have a pretty big issue recently where I felt a ball had been dropped and was going to cancel my policy but Lisa proactively reached out to me, listened, and took care of it. She owned the problem and didn't stop until it got fixed. It's because of her that I am still with them and would recommend them. view less

Tina Launders works in the fulfillment center and was extremely helpful in getting a replacement for my microwave. It wasn't worth fixing the old one and was giving multiple choices for obtaining a new one. They came within a few days and installed it in less than an hour. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with. A great company well worth the money!

One Guard sent a repair person to our home today to repair our heater. They showed up in an unmarked van - no contractor license number displayed, no business card from technician, no shirt signifying who he worked for. Then, I find that on Better Business Bureau, they have an F RATING!!! F - are you kidding me?? Then, I call One Guard, who we have used for seven years, and they say that they have a "team" who vettes all of their service providers. I think that someone needs to be fired! How can you rate someone when they don't do anything! This is the worst warranty that I have ever had. My wife and I called for a repair and was greeted with quote " we should be able to take care of you with in 48 hours." One week later we had to call One Guard as no calls were received from their service technicians. The One Guard employee gave the repair company the wrong phone number. After the repair company arrived, they reviewed and informed us that they needed to order some parts. Two weeks later we call One Guard only to find out that we were in Israel and the repair company was waiting for us to schedule a date for them to make the repairs. Remind you that the repairs were faucets that started to drip at the first of the year. After reviewing our warranty/contract, we came across this statement from One Guard in section D Requesting Service number 2. In bold letters it states; Only work authorized and arranged by OneGuard is covered by this contract. I was told that it was my responsibility to arrange the repair man. I think most of the reviews that are written that portray a fine company are actually written by them. I am researching and looking for others who have dealt with similar issues with them not fulfilling their contractual duties. Easy to request service, contractors they use are typically prompt in getting in touch and scheduling a service call, and we've never had a problem with any repairs they've done. We recently had issue with our toilet and we took the issue to OneGuard. Deb and Dawn from OneGuard were very helpful in resolving our case immediately and our toilet is good as new now. We were very satisfied with the results and we would definitely recommend OneGuard to you all.

I am very happy with the way one guard handles their customer service! We have had to call for three different occasions and each time their customer service Representatives handled it quickly and thoroughly. The technicians that come out are also highly efficient and thorough. We have been pleased each time! I would highly recommend them to all my family and friends.

I have had One Guard Warranty for about 3 years and they have handled several calls for me and AHVAC regular service as well. While each service was good, the only concern was i would get a different company each time and so now i will request the one i prefer and use when needed. This is just my preference and others may not find this to be a concern.

Recently, I scheduled service to repair /replace my 2 year old icemaker. One Guard coordinated All Hours Plumbing to help.
This small company near Dallas, was professional, knowledgeable and prompt! They did what they said they would do and I even asked for some extra help( not on warranty) and it was accomplished on the same visit and in record time!
All Hours, I feel is a very dependable and upfront company to work on your big appliances - which is what their specialty is.
I will be certain to request appliance repair from this company again if the need arises. also i will recommend ALL HOURS to my friends who do not have One Guard. view less

I am very happy with OneGuard. Their customer service people are wonderful. They quickly had top notch contractor to my home. The contractor was prompt, polite and did a marvelous job. They let me know exactly what was wrong and what they were going to do. There were no surprises except for how clean they left the area they worked on. I am so glad I chose OneGuard to cover my home.

I have had a OneGuard (previously ServiceOne) warranty since 2010 and have always regarded their service and attention to my requests as excellent. At the time of my last call a couple of weeks ago I encountered an agent who declined to process my request for service. After fully expressing myself to the agent I hung up and located someone who was able to easily repair my problem though I remained somewhat miffed about having to pay the entire bill. Shortly thereafter I received a customer satisfaction survey from OneGuard inquiring about my satisfaction with their service, I responded by expressing dissatisfaction over my last contact and was subsequently called by one of their excellent customer service agents, Ms. Dawn Jaeger. To my great pleasure, Ms Jaeger expressed empathy and regret concerning the manner in which the rep dealt with my call. She as well processed a reimbursement for most of my expenditure which left me with a good feeling about this company and the people they employ! One Guard has been so very helpful to me. Their response time and customer service are the best. I had a bad experience with another home warranty company years ago and found One Guard through the BBB and they were the only one with a good rating. They have never refused to cover something that they have agreed to pay. They always respond immediately. They have even called multiple vendors in order to find an appointment that works for my needs. Every vendor has been professional and done excellent work. My last experience was so helpful. I had a leak in my house and was frightened. I was not kind and didn't know who to call. They weren't sure the leak was covered, but sent a company out here and didn't charge me my portion until they figured out the cause and they also helped me to figure out who to call for the damage to my home. Everyone, despite my unkind tone, were professional and wonderful to me. The three people that helped me with this incident were Enoch, Ernesto and Chris. Swap plumbing did the work and their serviceman was Johnson. They were all so helpful and kind and make what could have been a horrible experience a great one and affordable too. Halo garage door came out to my house they sent a very skilled, friendly tech who really went over and above. We weren't going to get a warranty but our agent recommended we call One Guard and Dallas C. She went over plans and said she would help if anything went wrong. One Guard has really been great for us and Halo garage is a class act!!!
