My claim with secure from a month ago went fairly well. They came to fix my faucet which I added additional coverage on but were also kind enough to help me with a quick ceiling fan fix. It kept on getting stuck and they oiled the rotary piece which was very helpful!

I'll say that after my microwave oven claim i was certainly more impressed than my past experiences with home warranty companies. They honored whatever I had agreed to in policy and made a full covered repair. My oven was even old but it didn't matter at all

This company has been a total scam. They do claim in their website that they will cover all appliances in the home warranty. But once you pay them they will send a fine print which says literally nothing is covered. I had couple of claims recently (One for Air conditioner and another recent one for water heater) and both were blindly rejected by saying some loopholes from their fine print. They never cover any of your appliances, and all they do is take your money for the policy payment. It has been horrible customer service and even to get a contractor for fixing an issue it takes weeks and multiple calls to them.
Stay away from them and go for some reputable companies like American Home Shield. view less

If I didn't renew my one year it would have been a foolish move. For the month after I did renew I had my biggest claim, which would have been much of a hassle to have paid for. They serviced my home pump system connected to an old well pump. They sent someone out a day after I called and it was quite brief for such a repair, but things are working fine

I am not usually one to take the time to write a review - but my experience with Secure Home Warranty was so negative and frustrating , I feel obligated to tell others what happened so that they DO NOT BUY THIS WARRANTY.

The first time I had a home warranty, it was with American Home Shield for one year- my realtor gifted it to me when I bought my house. It was about $500 with a $75 deductible. My water heater had gone out and within 3-4 days I had a new water heater for $75. Yes it took a few days, and was inconvenient, but they delivered and got the job done. I had such a good experience with them that I wanted to have a warranty again as my house has older appliances/systems.
So I shopped around because I thought $500 was a lot, and didn't think these companies were too much different, so after reading some reviews and Secure seemed like a decent company for a little less money.

Here is my experience with Secure:

December 17, 2017 - my furnace stopped blowing warm air and was only blowing cool air. It was an extremely cold weekend here in Wisconsin with temps to reach -15 overnight. I called Secure Home Warranty Saturday evening around 4 PM - the first representative took down my info, and told me someone would be calling me soon, when I clarified, they said usually within an hour. No call back after an hour and a half. So I called back, spoke to someone else, got the same message. No calls yet. Its 6:30 PM so I go ahead and call a local heating company to come look at it because I cannot wait for Secure because I don't want my pipes to freeze, and it was freezing in the house! I call Secure again, and finally the third representative tells me theres noone else staffed on the weekends besides customer service and that they probably won't be calling me until a business day. There was no manager, no claims people there, or anyone. When I asked if it was ok that I went ahead and called a local heating company, they said my contract stated that they may not cover the service done because they are supposed to set all that up. I ended up needing a new hi limit part that cost me $260. The company also recommended that the furnace be replaced due to some leaking and that it would probably shut down in a few months. Monday I called Secure and several more phone calls and e-mails I filed the claim. They made me set up another deductible appointment which cost $45 for their preferred service provider to go out and determine the same thing. They initially stated they would only be giving me back $150. They asked for paperwork to prove that I had routine maintenance and care done on the furnace annually. YES, it was in the contract, but when I bought the contract, I asked the service representative selling it to me, if there were any fine print/gimmicks I should know about. YES I overlooked it, but they refused to not cover any more than $150 unless I had paperwork for the past several years showing I had routine maintenance done. After being upset, they agreed to give me $250 but no more. This all happened in December. I still have not received the $250 in the check and it is March 4. I've had to e-mail their billing department several times. I've called several times very upset and they state they will have a manager call me the next day, but that has never followed through either. They stated on Jan 17 in an e-mail it would take 30 days to process the paperwork/etc. I e-mailed them Feb 23 stating that I had not received any confirmation yet and it had been over 30 days. They then responded that the check would not be going out until the following Friday and to expect it to take 7-14 more days. If you don't constantly hassle this company and check in on the status of your claim via e-mail and phone, I honestly don't think they would have followed through with the claim. Had I not e-mailed them to tell them it had been over 30 days, when would I have heard from them? They do not keep their own promises. Here is the e-mail they sent to me on January 17:

Dear Ashley,

We have received your Reimbursement Release Form and will be sure to forward it over to the billing department, we ask that you allow up to 30 days for your payment to be processed and scheduled. The billing department will be sure to send you a confirmation email once they have a release date for your payment.

I never got a confirmation e-mail 30 days later. I gave them an extra week before I sent them an e-mail and then they stated this e-mail:

Dear Ashley,
We are sending you a confirmation email letting you know that we spoke with the Billing department and they confirmed that your check is scheduled to go out next Friday.
We ask to please allow 7-14 business days to receive your check once it has been mailed out.
It seems to me to be a fraudulent company who does not want to cover any major expenses,

Today is March 3 and I sent another e-mail to check and make sure the check did go out yesterday (Friday) as promised. I do not trust this company to follow through on their promises. Overall I think this is a scam and that they will not cover more than what you paid on the premium. My premium was $356 and my expenses were $305. Originally they only stated they could give $150 but they are willing to give me $250, but only because I argued and argued and begged they cover more. And I still haven't received the check over 3 months later.

This company is just simple fraud. I have two property with them. I filed one claim on each property with them and they showed their true color. One of the problem was with my fridge where refrigerator side stop working and ice maker stop working. I had gotten additional coverage for ice maker. Their technician came by and I paid the service charge. Technician determined that the new Damper is needed and ice maker would need to be replaced and he also told me that it would take him a week to get parts so I said okay. After 10 days, I get a call from secure home warranty saying that Damper is not covered. When i asked them about ice maker then they said that technician didn't mention anything about ice maker. So i called the technician and he told me that he was very clear about mentioning the ice maker.

They are pure fraud. The contract I signed says that they would cover all necessary components for refrigerator but apparently according to them damper is not necessary. It makes no sense.

When I was signing up for the warranty, I didn't see any negative reviews and I saw a bunch of positive reviews and later i realized that they are fairly new company so they must have paid someone to write good reviews to gain customer base. But now i see that so many people have written negative reviews that they won't make it for too long. None of the current customers will be renewing for sure.

Please Don't make the same mistake that I did. Don't buy from them. You will loose more than you will save view less

I was caught in a pickle when I couldn't open my garage door, couldn't even get my car out which was quite problematic. Secure home warranty kept to their word and pulled through with the fastest repair i've experienced, they sent a same day contractor and I was still able to have the second half of my day

Yesterday they sent out a techie to repair some issue in my electrical box w the breakers. The parts were replaced and the whole procedure took roughly 1 hour, best part is the appeal system over the phone which is quite fluid

At first was a bit skeptical because most of these warranty companies come off very cheap and turn out to be stingy with pay off. Secure was not stingy at all, they reimbursed a repair on my ductworking in my one fam house. Very generous

It's been almost half a year with this warranty company, I found out about it by word of mouth. So far Secure has serviced my well pump and microwave oven that is built in to my cabinet in my kitchen,, Both of these separate claims resulted with full repair, what was even better was not having out of pocket fees no surprises

Aside from being on hold for 10 minutes the remainder of my service call went pleasantly and it has led me to write this review. I wasn't expecting to be taken care of with such an intensive job like my hvac system but little did I know I had full coverage. I was reimbursed by check the following week

Stay away from this company. After having experienced other highly rated companies, I decided to give Secure Home Warranty a try. After them denying my claim on a hot water heater. I provided them the necessary documentation from the technician that I had to pay for. They didn't respond to my emergency call for 2 days. After paying over $500 out my own pocket, they denied reimbursement. I intend on taking them to court to recoup my money and the fees associated with this contact. view less

Horrible experience!! Stay away. Unprofessional customer service and claim service. Didn't cover even minor plumbing and electrical issues. Having to call everyday for cancellation and refund, it's been more than 2 weeks now. Stay away from this home warranty company! Worst experience!
