American Home Shield (AHS)
They were great. Fixed what we needed and was friendly. Barely any wait, part needed was already there. Our guy was friendly and nice. Carried casual conversation that made the process easier. We were without AC for not even a day before it was fixed.

One of the appliances died the day we closed on the house. The day we signed the paperwork with AHS we were able to get a service rep assigned, someone to listen to our issue and to schedule the repair. Everything was professional, timely and easy for us.

I think it is awesome that I can put in a ticket at anytime online. They sent an email with the contractor information right away, and in the following two days I got a call from the contractor to come look at my unit (HVAC). I did not like the fact that I have to pay $75 just to get a technician to see my issues (the $55 for every extra lbs of refrigerant they charge to my unit, because of EPA regulations) but I am overall very satisfied with the service rendered.

American Home Shield (AHS)
We’ve been a customer with AHS for many years (20ish) and I’ve never had the problems I’m having now. I’ve been without my refrigerator (not the freezer section) for a month (3 weeks of that has been post service request). Without going in to detail, I have been waiting for parts...., I was “stood up” on the scheduled appt because “parts hadn’t arrived”. It would have been great if Sears had called me before I emptied the freezer contents as I was told to do before the appt. I know that AHS wasn’t to blame for that BUT when I called to get the problem dealt with I was given the run around, put on hold for a supervisor only to be told that one wasn’t available. I would have to just wait for the parts to come in. I have an 80 year old disabled woman here to care for. I need my fridge. And I told them this. I’m STILL waiting..... even after informing them I would be looking for a new company. I’ve been more than patient. I was never rude to them or raised my voice. I didn’t even demand a new unit, even though they should have offered this when they realized my situation. Nothing. At the least.... compensation for lost food. In the past, I’ve praised AHS and suggested AHS to friends who were searching for a new company. Not any more.

Old Republic Home Protection
have 2 problems. 1 - tub leaking. called in, told rep exactly what problem was. i was told to pay 60 bucks and problem would be corrected. paid 60 bucks. few days later i get phone message leak not covered. why was i not told that first time? out 60 bucks. 2 - dishwasher quit working. when i had not heard from tech i had to call them direct. found out they were on Tennessee line (about 6 hours drive) and would not provide service. 2nd tech looked and said valve stuck. freed up valve and chg another 60 bucks. dishwasher still doesn't work. tech now say dishwasher old and may not clean dishes but he only fix valve. ORHW now say i should pay someone else to fix it or just buy new one. why do i have this insurance?? also - the first time tried to send this review it didn't go through and i had to start over.
