I put in the request on a Saturday morning and by Tuesday morning my issues were resolved. I find this company to be great for small issues around the house.

Why did I get this? I didn't file a complaint - gave an excellent review. I starting using AHS in 1988 when, as a realtor, I recommended it to my clients. I\'ve had a policy at every home since then. Overall they\'re responsive and dependable for most things. My only comment is that we\'re at the mercy of the contractors\' schedules if it\'s an emergency situation like backed-up plumbing they're not mandated to respond as if it were an emergency. Anyone who's had backed up plumbing knows it's an emergency to the family with no toilets available. Otherwise, AHS and their customer service reps are very professional and try their best to help when needed.

American Home Shield (AHS)

I had both an oven issue and a dishwasher issue at the same time. They only charged me the $75 deductible once as it was one visit for both repairs. The first person came out and didn\'t do anything which had me upset. American Home Shield sent a second person out from a different company. That technician was great. She fixed our oven issues with the parts she had to order and unfortunately the dishwasher parts were no longer available. American Home Shield gave me the option of a Home Depot gift card or replacing it and installing it with a similar model by GE. They did what they should have done. I went from unhappy t satisfied.

American Home Shield (AHS)

Rating starRating starRating starRating starRating star

I have had American Home Shield since I bought my home in 2014. I have used them a handful of times. I have to say that sometimes, they send out stellar repair people who know what they are doing. But a good number of their contractors are sub-par and leave a lot to be desired. My most recent experience was with my garbage disposal. The company they dispatched, went to the wrong address, took a picture of the wrong address and drove off without calling me or attempting to find out why I was not home, when I was. I watched this transpire and attempted to call the company they hired, but only ever get voicemail, never a human. I cancelled the service, cause I knew how this was going to play out. If you need something like this cause you honestly can not afford a repair person to come out and tell you what is wrong, it is worth the price and the $75.00 service fee. But if you are able to just put money into savings and pay a quality repair person out of pocket you will be much happier. I see all these positive reviews, and note they are outside of California. Not sure, but maybe outside of my area they are great, but in my area, the subcontractors are often sub par and work very hard to deny your claim.+ Oh and even if they don't fix your problem, you still have to pay the $75.00 just for the pleasure of having them dispatch someone who can't fix your problem.
