I have had the WORST experience with this company for the longest time. I have been trying to get my water heater repaired because we have been without hot water for a MONTH. NONE of their service providers were available so they suggested I get a local plumber to fix it. I got a local plumber, who suggested that heater is old and needs to be replaced.ORH asked for itemized quote which plumber provided. They rejected stating that it had to be their format. My local plumber refused to help me because he doesn't like dealing with them. I contacted another local company, who gave the same diagnostic. Even provided the itemized quote and that quote got rejected. They suggested that I go with an in network plumber to avoid paying out of pocket. In network plumber showed up for literally 2 minutes, Saud he will return with a heater to replace and never showed up. Two days later, I recieved an email that ticket had been closed. I called them right away letting them know that contracted never showed up and new heater is still not installed. At this time they reached out to contractor who came up with a completely non sensible diagnostic out of his ass and asking me to pay 238 dollars for it. When I tried to fight it, ORH is not accepting 2 other diagnostics and saying that they only accept diagnostic by their in network providers. They were unable to find me anything in writing and refused to let me speak to a supervisor. I have requested supervisors to call me numerous times to no avail. If you go and check reviews for ALL of their contractors, they are ALL a bunch of crooks. Read reviews, every single one of them is 1 or 2 stars. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ARE ALL THIEFS. I would give them a zero if I could.

Customer of AHS, since 1986. They are a reputable company. I appreciate their employees, they are happy and knowledgeable. They realize that they are the link that will get you the help you are relying on to fix whatever has broken or leaking in your home. I am still a satisfied customer of AHS, after all these years.

The wait time to speak with customer service is ridiculous. After waiting well over an hour, the rep lacked knowledge and had to place me on hold a few more times. In addition, I am trying to reach the office of the CEO due to a claim dispute and there is no contact information. In the meanwhile, my tenant is sitting in the summer heat without air condition.

I\'ve been with AHS for a few years now and used their service several times. in all occasions the situation was the same. I have a problem and I all them. They take the call and in short order the appropriate contractor is dispatched. They respond in a timely fashion and, in a very professional way, correct my problem. What could be better. Definately a 5 star service.

My washer was leaking water when in use. I went on-line and opened a ticket. I was called and they came out for service. The washer had a faulty transmission and the tech ordered the part right at my house, to save time. I was told it would take a few days and less than a week, the part came in. The tech came out again and installed it. Service was on time, professional, and work done was great. Can't ask for much more. Very happy with this service call.

Totally disgusted with this company. Raised the rates and took away multiple dwelling discount with no notice. Waited on hold for over an hour and CSR could not answer the questions posed. Asked for someone to call me back. Never happened. Also never had a claim for one house and only an ice maker on the other. Still waiting for a call back. Cancelled their service and started a new one, even though the new one costs more. They don't care about their present customers; they only worry about getting new customers.

I will probably end cancelling the service. Spent last hour calling on status of request, waiting in the queue and then mysteriously getting disconnected.

The hold time to reach an agent at AHS is always greating than 30 minutes. After holding for 30+ minutes, I\'m often disconnected and have to call and hold for another 30+ minutes. The same company and technician has been to our home 4+ times to fix our washer and it\'s still not fixed. I\'ve called multiple times about the same issue and at one point they even put in a service ticket related to my microwave, rather than my washer. When you ask to speak with a manager, they question why and then try to convince you not to speak with one. I had an issue with our Central A/C and they sent a technician out to our home who told us there was nothing wrong with our A/C, but rather we needed better insulation in our home. I requested a 2nd opinion and AHS told me I'd have to pay another service fee to which I agreed. The 2nd technician came out and found that both of our A/C units were leaking and had to replace the valves and refill both units with freon. This company is absolutely worthless and I'm currently searching for another warranty company to replace them.

worst customer service, or it could be the person who handled my case. Horrible experience. been with them for over 7 years. They believed in their technician who flooded our unit more than videos that we took. Our washer has issues and technician did not report any of those issues to AHS, so AHS said there is nothing they can do about it while we have our washer that is out of service, why do I even have warranty service I wonder, time to rethink. Also note that technician they sent was lowest rated company on Google. AHS do not have qualified people nor do they believe in customer service as I was not even allowed to speak with any supervisor.

At one time this company was great! However, I\'ve been with AHS for 20 yrs and it\'s increasingly become difficult to get an agent and wait under an hour; a repair person out within 1.5 weeks, and the cost of repair is not totally covered by the contract. I made an A/C repair call for a water leak from the drain pan, and that turned into a possible $350 to clean the coils (which wasn't covered because it was preventative maintainance), and $255 ($85/lbs), for 3 lbs of Freon. There was no drain pan check, no filter check, no condensation line check or cleaning, etc. The "experts" had not methodoloty of troubleshooting.

I have had AHS for many years and have been quite satisfied until recently. I had a broken garage door spring that needed replacing. I checked the policy and under the garage door openers it said it did not cover door to door track assemblies but that all other parts were covered. I called, payed the $75 fee and setup an appointment. When the contractor arrived they informed me that AHS did not cover springs. I ended up paying $250 out of pocket for the springs which I had no problem doing but felt cheated by paying $75 for nothing! When I called AHS about returning the $75.00 they told me that they "door to door track assemblies include springs and are not covered." I am not a garage door opener expert. Not sure how I was supposed to assume that springs are part of that? I asked what was the point of me paying $75.00 when I could have just called the contractor directly? The AHS rep. on the phone was very dismissive and said I could write the Dept. of Insurance if I had a complaint. Lousy business practice if you ask me. Especially for a client of so many years. I give four stars for service and repair because all of the contractors they have sent were excellent!

Lowe’s Protection Plans

Rating starRating starRating starRating starRating star

Beware of Lowe\'s Extended Protection Plans (EPP). It\'s a scam! The word "Extended" is the confusing part. I bought a Husqvarna lawn mower with the 3-year EPP. The manufacturer\'s warranty was 3 years and I thought I\'m buying an "extended" warranty, I found out today that the warranty starts from the first day you purchase the product, which means it ended on the same day the manufacture's warranty ended. Does that make any sense?! Anyhow, their customer service informed that the protection is to cover the expense (reimbursement) of pick up and drop off costs of your unit, not from your house but from Lowe's, i.e. you haul your equipment to Lowe's for repair or service. They have a third party pick it up and drop it off, you pay for all expenses, Lowe's reimburses you for the transportation charges by the third party. I'm sure you have to fill out many forms, and wait for months. Basically it's a scam to take your money and hope that they'll never see you again, and if they do, they waste your time filling out papers, wait for a reimbursement, and hope you forget some deadline along the way. Shame on Lowe's and greedy Corporations like Lowe's.

My washer has a water leaking since Jun 2017, we did place the service order 4 times. Every time the techinican said "fixed", but every time we found the situation worse & worse . AHS refused to send another contractor to fix the problem and nor to pay the laundry fee during these months. We are upset with AHS and also their contractor. We cant use the washer anymore. We cant able to file our complaint through phone or chats. No service, bad service !!!

The most recent call for service was for the Microwave. I don't remember who serviced it but he determined that the door had to be replaced and did so within a couple days. No discussion or haggle. Quick clean and friendly. Very satisfied with this and every repair we have needed from AHS.

So Cal Gas said I needed a Contractor to look at the NOx (CA Emissions) Rods, which were melting/warping in my Forced Air Heater. I had someone out, and they bid about $5,000 to replace the Unit. The replacement parts are no longer available. I then made a Warranty Claim, and ORHP sent out Tru-Way Appliance. This guy looked at the Unit with a flashlight and left. I later received a Denial from ORHP that the unit was dirty, and the claim was denied. Really? I asked ORHP for a written Vendor report. ORHP refused to send the report. They referred me to Tru-Way, who also refused to send a report of their findings. I chafed a few butt-cheeks up the chain, and a Supervisor agreed to re-evaluate the claim in light of the So Cal Gas warning and multiple opinions that replacement parts are unavailable. They finally sent American Heating out, and American tried to convince me that Installation Permits were unnecessary. They actually are necessary, or the Homeowner owns the cost of correction. I paid for a third opinion, who confirmed that replacement would be about $4,000, including Permits/Inspections. ORHP offered me $910. Permits are going to cost $800, and the Heater surcharge for non-compliance with South Coast Air Quality Management emissions standards (Rule 1111) is another $200. That is $1,000 before anyone even purchases a Heater or opens a tool box. My Warranty was expiring within 30 days of the claim, and I had to renew so ORHP could not defer the issue and say that the Heater actually only failed outside of coverage. I am now aware through 5 different Employees that ORHP has a complete Black Box operation, and there is absolutely no written evidence on your claim. The Vendor Consults are verbally conveyed to ORHP. The Repair/Replacement costs are completely hidden from the customer, and the Buy-Out offers are obviously about 20-40% of actual cost. Their Business Model appears to be that most claims are not large enough to hire an Attorney over, so ORHP will refuse to substantiate their position without a Subpoena (which requires a lawsuit). The good news is that a Homeowner can file a Small Claims action in CA for about 30-75 dollars, and make the case for coverage to a Judge within a month or so. You also have the right to subpoena all the case-file notes and records of ORHP regarding your claim. That may include the Vendor opinion notes, the cost options, and the actual grounds for either Denial or Buy-Out offer. The Subpoena for production of their Electronic File alone may get your case on to the desk of someone who has authority for more than 20% of the actual claim cost. http://www.courts.ca.gov/1256.htm My name is George Corson and my Plan Number is 22709650. ORHP cannot post saying that they do not know who I am. They KNOW who I am, and also know that my Furnace replacement will cost them at least $3000 if they do it right the first time with Permits/Inspection, or $5,000 if they get it right the second time with Code Enforcement and corrections. I will be happy to post with the ultimate dispute result if we do not come to an agreement. If we do come to a mutually beneficial agreement, I will not post the amount. You can easily do your own Negotiation/Litigation with the above information.

I have had this service since I bought my house in 2006. Rarely used their services for 7 years. had problem with spa and the service contractor who came out was worst then the company itself. He stated that as there were rat dropping, it needed special handling with suits and gear. Really? kept calling the company and really figured out that I should have never chosen them. Job got done by handyman in $35. again, had problem 2 months later with toilet clogging. called them and they told me that the policy lapsed. They cannot do anything unless I reinstate the policy and I will have waiting period for another 30 days and they did send out the letter. They told me that they do not send emails and they have stopped autorenewals. So much for paying all the premium for so many years:( I really believe that someone in this company really is working very hard to push the company in Bankruptcy and they are doing a great job of spoiling company's name and service. But that's leadership question. I am gald I am off the hook. I am with another company and I hoping a better service from them. Don't ever buy this policy.

This policy was purchased for me when I bought my home last October. I called yesterday afternoon (9/26/2014) at approx. 2:00 PM. I have a leak under the sink in the kitchen. I do not know if it is the garbage disposal or the dishwasher. I called and requested service. I was told someone from Better Flow Plumbing would contact me to set up an appointment. At 8:51 PM last night Francisco called and we set an appointment for 11:00 AM today (9/27/2014). At 11:20 I called him. He said he "forgot." Then he said he had an emergency and should have called me, but that he was in San Bernardino and couldn't get to me. He wanted to come at 12:30. I said okay. Then he called back and said he couldn't make it. We settled on 5:00 PM today. At 5:25 I tried to call him. His phone was turned off and went to voice mail. The message was that the voice mailbox was full and hung up on me. I then tried to call customer service at Old Republic. All that did was put me on a hold that kept spinning around with all representatives are busy. My policy is due for renewal, but you can count on the fact that I will NOT be renewing with Old Republic. What a joke they are. The company they said they contacted is not even close to where I live. They are over 30 miles away in Ontario! There is no corporate number listed for this company in the phone book (white or yellow pages) and nothing on the Internet. It is truly amazing that this company is still around if this is the way they do business!
