We have had our home warranty since 2013 and this is the first time we have used it. We were a little frustrated that it took so long to get an appt however we understand that others needed assistance also. The 2 men that came out to repair our refridgerator were very nice, professional, cleaned up after themselves and overall great customer service.

I don\'t have hot water on Easter Sunday. The scheduled repair was set for Tuesday. I called back to ask to be put on a wait list for any earlier cancellation. The agent called me back Monday morning and scheduled repair for Monday evening. The Senior Tech arrived and was a true gem, very professional, COVID19 compliant, patient, thorough, courteous and kind. Everything was repaired in a few minutes, with an understanding that I would have hot water again in about an hour. He left his phone number for me to confirm those results. And in less than an hour, I had hot water again, and I texted my confirmation.

Icemaker stopped working. I called American Home Shield and they contacted AT Appliance. An appointment was set up right away. Tech arrived, assessed the problem, ordered the part and returned a week later to install and complete the the repair. The Tech was on time and completed the job very quickly. I am pleased with the service

My garbage grinder stopped working, the motor would hum and that was all. I contacted AHS, paid my $75 deductible and they had MSE Plumbing schedule an appointment. Mason came out the next day and replaced the unit. He was professional, polite and knowledgeable. This issue was resolved without any issues. The only thing remaining is to sign up for the 10-year manufactures warranty.

I used American Home Shield to repair my fridge. Not only was making the appointment a breeze online but I also recieved a call back from them letting me know what company would be coming to service my fridge. I didn\'t have to provide any additional payment once the $75 was paid at the end of our business. What an amazing company with great customer service.

My air-conditioning was not working and I call for you to send an air-conditioning company to check out my air condition. The company came and told me that my compressor is not working due to over filling of freon. He told me that it will cost me about $3,000.00. The next day I called my friend at work and he came out to check the air condition and said that my thermostat is not working. He said that there is nothing wrong with my compressor. Because the compressor kicked in when he mess with the thermostat. I then called American Home Shield for 2nd opinion. I told the operator that I will not pay for the $75 fee because the first company did not know what he was talking about. The second company came out and said that the only thing wrong was the unit need to be acid wash and the freon was 2 lbs. low. He said that it will cost me around $250 to do the job. My wife was at home at the time and agree to the service. I have to wait almost 3 weeks to get my air-condition resolved when the temperature was over !00 degree. What a rip off.

We have had to call for an appointment with this or that several times. Each time they have referred us to the appropriate company to handle our problems. Turn around time has always been very responsive and anyone who has come out to fix things has always been top notch. Wouldn\'t be without a Home Warranty.

American Home Shield is great to have. They have fix my plumbing, dishwasher and heater so far. All I pay is the deductible and walla! its fixed. I only had one incident which made me a bit upset. I used the web to schedule a garage issue and they failed to ask me questions to see if the part was covered. Took the rest of the day off just to find out the spring wasn't covered. Very upset and lost wages. Read your contract to be sure of the little things thats in small print.

I have had AHS for several years and didn\'t have a problem until recently. I have not been able to get a live person since July. Part of this could be due to floods and fires in CA but 45 min or longer wait times while I\'m at work just isn\'t acceptable. No email or any other means to contact them. They quit covering Freon (will pay $10 per pound up to 5 lbs) but can't get a hold of anyokne to get that $50 reimbursed to me. They contract with 1 A.C. company in the Sacramento area and they have.t been the easiest company to deal with. Thinking about changing companies.

The contractor was very knowledgeable and although it took a little extra time he explained everything to me. This made me feel comfortable in the knowledge he knew what he was doing. I knew my problem would be resolved .

A/C condenser developed leaky start capacitor. I contacted AHS to initiate repair ticket. Vendor contacted me next day to arrange appointment. Technician arrived two days later as scheduled and effected repair within 35 minutes. OPs checked unit/system and also advised me to clean out condenser regularly to maintain peak function. Good experience. (Except I found out later I gave them a check from a closed account-my bad for not discarding the old checks and check book-my bad-Oops..)

AHS has denied my claim because they have said that coverage of "pre-existing conditions" does not include problems that existed prior to the initiation of my contract or my purchase of the home two years ago. They have said that grease build-up in my primary drain pipe over the 50 year life of the house is not covered even though my contract covers problems caused by insufficient maintenance or build up of sediment. They believe a technician can determine that I caused the buildup, even though the technician has not checked other drains or inspected the drains prior to the backup.

I have mixed ratings for this company. Recently, my washing machine agitator stopped working. The plumber they sent was excellent and had the machine working in no time. I've had other kitchen appliance repair people in the home who were also wonderful and taught me to do some maintenance on my own. The garage door repair...well that was a bad adventure. We called because the spring to lift the door broke (not covered but they didn't tell us), made an appointment with a repair company and he arrived 45 minutes late. He asked for the deductible upfront and I was wary. Took 10 minutes to confirm the spring was broken. He asked for the deductible and called AHS while I wrote the check. I find out at that point the door parts (spring) are not covered, only the opener itself. Now he quotes me the repair cost out of pocket on top of the deductible. Note, the deductible will not be discounted from the repair cost. He left for another appointment while I called my hubby at work to discuss. When he calls back explains I have to pay both the deductible $75 and full cost of repair $169. But if AHS covered the repair, I would pay the deductible of $75 and AHS would pay the difference of $95. However, if I had called him direct, the cost would only be a total of $169. We argued, he sarcastically suggested I stop payment on the check and I did. Rather give the bank those fees than give him any money at all. Total fail on customer service.
