Our air conditioning stopped working in July. We filed a service request and the repair company got the air conditioning working again. Because we\'re in the southern California desert, we\'ve had no need for heating, but we do participate in a program of semi-annual inspections and our HVAC company doing the inspection informed us that in repairing the AC in July, the repair person had disconnected the heating control wire and turned off the gas to our furnace so that when we needed heat during the winter it wouldn't work. The company doing the inspection diagnosed the issue as a bad control board. I contacted AHS 1. They stated that because 60 days had passed they couldn't recall the company that did the AC repair and left the heat disabled. 2. I then asked that they waive the trip charge, since this should have all been addressed at the time of the original repair. They refused. 3. I asked that they have the company that had just diagnosed the bad circuit board complete the repair (that company IS also a service provider for AHS, in fact that's how we found them). Since they had already been on site and made the diagnosis it seemed unnecessary for me to pay another provider to come and diagnose the same thing. AHS refused. 4. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor, who called me back and asked me to hold while he contacted the repair company that disabled the heat in July. Because I was about to enter a work meeting, I asked that he call me back instead. He promised to call me back after my 2-hour meeting but I've not heard from him since. On some level I can understand the 60-day limit on recalling the repair person, but there's no reasonable way we could determine what the repair person had done to our heating system until months later when we finally did try to turn the heat on. The company should be willing to make exceptions for these types of circumstances.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST. CANNOT EVEN START TO DESCRIBE THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, COMMUNICATION, AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT. AND JUST ASK TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR OR SOMEONE THAT SPEAKS ENGLISH. THEY ARE ALWAYS IN A MEETING. I JUST CANCELLED TWO HOME WARRANTIES BECAUSE OF A $125 DISPUTE. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

I used the online website to submit my problem regarding pool filter system. Receive a respond within 30 min. with info on my assigned contractor. Contractor contacted me within reasonable time. Schedule appointment. Repairman came and notified me of problem. Said part was covered. His office going to contact me when part will be installed. Contractor called and said coming and installed part. Service by both AHS and assigned contractor were great. Having AHS, I believe, is essential to homeowners, in protecting their investment in the home.

I had an amazing quick response to my online claim for repair, which I posted Sunday. Company called later that day and were here on Monday. Part needed to be order for this repair and it was promptly ordered and received on Tuesday and installed and repair completed. It\'s nice to have my heat back. Thank you for a seamless appointment.

When I called regarding our air conditioning problem they got right on it and shortly thereafter I got a call from the assigned service company and they showed up a few hours later, found the problem, ordered the part and fixed it a few days later. Very happy!!!!!

On 8/21/18 I reported that my AC was not blowing air. Anthem came out and replaced the fan and it worked until Sat. 8/25/18. I reported this to AHS and called Anthem, who informed me that they could not do anything until they received your authorization. I called your customer service a couple of times and John said he couldn\'t do anything. I kept in touch with Anthemc. They had a weekend person to talk to. Trying to get Aztec and AHS to talk to each other was impossible. We are 85 years old and in poor health. Because your representative was hard to understand and was poorly trained We endured 90 degree temperatures Sat. night. I called you Sun. morning and Cynthia responded by understanding my problem and asked about my living in a desert valley with high temps, my age and physical condition. I gave John all of this info, but it fell on deaf ears. She sent an e-mail which Anthem acted on and scheduled service for the same day Sun. After all that Anthem sent the wrong part. We were stuck for another very hot night. To add insult to injury Anthem required an extra payment of $50 for weekend service. They then reduced the fee to $25 blaming you for this debacle. When the Sun. service didn't work out because of the wrong part was on the truck, they were supposed to reverse the charge, which they never did. I contested the charge. It took a week for what should have been a simple repair according to the repairman.

8 service calls over a 3 1/2 month period to finally be told the washer can\'t be fixed and is not covered by my warranty, After 4 service calls I asked for a different appliance repair company to come out. The company that was assigned has 58 reviews on Yelp. Of the 58 reviews--56 of them are 1 star. They should not be using this service company. Unacceptable. When I purchased the home a year earlier, I had a different home warranty company. I decided to try this one when my contract expired because it was much less expensive--big mistake.

We have 2 homes with the home warranty. Would always have one. Stuff breaks and if cover you don’t need to find a good repair person. Have had garage door, stoppage in drain pipe, refrigerator, and washing machine done at one house. Heater, washing machine, and refrigerator at the other. All services worked out to our satisfaction .

Some of their service providers are good/decent. Some are pretty bad. Not consistent. One big exception. Brent’s Pool Svc is excellent. Real integrity.

American Home Shield (AHS)
American Home Shield is a great company as long as you pay your premiums on time and DO NOT CALL THEM FOR ANYTHING AND EXPECT TO TALK TO A LIVE PERSON! To begin with, you can contact them to set up an appointment by phone, email, or internet. Their automatic scheduling system will set up an appointment for you and you will, in a day or two, receive a call back from the service provider they choose to respond to your request. The companies they use range from extremely poor to truly great. From that point on, it is between you and the company they schedule for you. If the work that needs to be done requires parts to replaced due to them completely failing, then the $75.00 service call fee that American Home Shield collects is well worth the cost as long as the item you need repaired doesn't need immediate service (think refrigerator, heating, plumbing, or air conditioning!). Depending on the company they select for you, you might need to wait three days or more for the technician to come out. If the technician is first rate or knowledgeable then the problem may be resolved in the initial visit; however, if not, you might have to call the company that sent to technician and have them schedule another visit. For me the first company they selected had to be called back two additional times as the second visit was by the same technician who said everything was working fine even though the air conditioning issue I had still left the temperature in my house at over ninety degrees despite how low I set the thermostat. I live in the Palm Desert area and the outside temperatures were in the 110 - 118 degrees range during the day when I needed service! The third time a technician came out and within 5 minutes had figured out a part needed replacement. A couple of days later he came back with the new part and life was good again. My most recent issue was again concerning the air conditioner. This time a bearing in the compressor was going out and has been for the past several years as the A/C unit is about 14 years old. The air conditioner is so noisy that the neighbors have complained about it as well as anyone who has been to our home in recent weeks. This time American Home Shield dispatched an excellent company who said the compressor bearings needed to be replaced but that American Home Shield probably would not repair or replace it as the air conditioner was still working and cooling the house. Sure enough, American Home Shield denied the repair/replacement a week and a half later. They suggested I call American Home Shield which I did after reviewing my contract that clearly states that "an item that malfunctions or fails due to normal wear and tear WILL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED". I called the number on the contact and was placed on hold. First, I got the proverbial message: "We really appreciate your call so don't hang up. Due to exceptionally high call volume your wait time will be about 10 minutes". Within 30 seconds, the message changed to "Your expected time is in excess of 30 minutes". After about 40 minutes the phone disconnected. This happened 3 times! I finally decided to call the company back that sent the technician and have them replace the bad compressor and warn people about the American Home Shield Warranty. I also purchased an extended warranty on my refrigerator last year because I couldn't see having to wait for American Home Shield to send someone out to repair it if it were to fail and then have to be without a refrigerator for a couple of weeks before the problem was fixed or the repair request was denied. Bottom line is that American Home Shield avoids customer contact at all costs unless someone (like myself) is foolish enough to contact their sales people to buy a contract. In that case a live person is more than happy to talk to you and take your money; however, like I said earlier, if you need to have an appliance you depend on replaced or repaired in a timely manner, I suggest you go elsewhere as you will not be able to discuss your issue with a live person.

I had a internal leaking kitchen faucet, called AHW, they set up a plumbing Co. in my area, and I had repair service the next day. The problem involved having to replace the entire faucet and it had to be ordered. They ordered it in 3 days it was delivered BUT Moen had shipped the wrong faucet. AHW contacted Moen on the spot, had it delivered overnight express, returned back to my home in 2 days , installed proper faucet. I was very impressed, excellent Customer Service, professional service people, will stay with AHW forever!!!

It is 112 Degrees outside..A Vendor came on Mon the 17..(second visit in less than two months)..A compressor needed to be ordered...As of today the Vendor has not had confirmation from AHS that the part was ordered...It is more than 110 degrees in my Home..Pets and I are paying for a hotel...but no sense of urgancy from AHS..that is, if you can get thru by phone...40 MINUTE WAIT..the Vendors have the same problem getting thru....I am a Real Estate Agent and I will NEVER refer to AHS again...Air Conditioning in this kind of heat should always be a priority..!!
