American Home Shield (AHS)
for the time i have bought your ins. i thought you where the best. however the last bout with my hot water heater was not at all my best experiance. i had to wait two and a half weeks before it was fixed. about 8=10 phone calls and alot of we are sorrys. i could have ordered a hot water heater from lowes and it would have been in within the first week.

This was the fifth time I have benefited from our American Home Shield service agreement. Each time they have responded promptly to our request for service and have made repair or replacement promptly. The contractors in each case have also responded promptly and have provided excellent service.

American Home Shield (AHS)
We\'ve been delighted with our decision to purchase American Home Shield coverage for our home. Every required repair has been handled professionally and efficiently by an AHS contractor. Replacement items have been of the quality we would have selected ourselves. Best of all, the AHS service representatives respond with a sense of urgency to our needs. They take our issues as if they are their own personal problems and go out of their way to make everything right. In a time of lowering levels of service, AHS provides old-fashioned quality.

American Home Shield (AHS)
This company forced us to use a dishonest plumbing company that lied and upcharged parts by a ridiculous amount. Refused to send out a different company for a second opinion unless we paid an additional service charge. Ridiculous amount of loopholes to avoid covering any items in your home. Customer service is HORRIBLE and next to impossible to get a hold of someone without waiting at least 30 minutes on hold. Awful company, will be canceling my policy ASAP.

From day 1 signup, reps great explaining contract, etc. Definitely AHS is the Home Warranty to purchase. I selected top of the line plan, Suggested AHS to my neighbors @6 months ago or so and they replied "will think about it." Couple of days ago both their AC Units stopped & called one of those listed in our area. Got the complaints on those AC repair services as they got the AC's up & running along with a price tag of @$125 for condense & $200 labor fees for each neighbor. Ol' say'n "can lead a horse to water, but can't make 'em drink".

American Home Shield (AHS)
We received an AHS warranty on the home we purchased. Our water heater went out on a Sunday night and we immediately submitted an online service request. The next morning a plumber showed up and confirmed that the unit needed to be replaced. AHS then called and informed us that it would cost us $700 additional to have the unit replaced because the plumber needed to "make modifications" to the existing plumbing. We declined and requested their cash-out option. After a almost two weeks of calling everyday to find out what was happening they only offered to pay $351. There is no way to replace a water heater for $351. Their logic? They only reimburse for their wholesale price of the unit and their contracted plumber rates. We took the money and I did the job myself. Interestingly, all the modifications the plumber claimed were needed, were not. The new water heater hooked up to all the same connections without incident al the plumbing was in good condition. AHS has horrible customer service. Every CSR told us something different and then the next person we spoke to would tell us the person before did not know what they were doing. On top of all that, after the plumber's initial inspection he left all the water lines disconnected and water from the rest of the house back-fed and continued to soak the sheetrock surrounding the water heater causing additional damage. When we questioned AHS on the issue, their response was simply, "you can't prove that the plumbers actions caused the damage." I will not be renewing my policy.
