Very pleased with the service I received from American Home Shield and highly recommend them. I was a little disappointed that my washer took 2 weeks to be repaired, however it was because parts had to be ordered.

Lowe’s Protection Plans
Terrible, horrible, worthless. I’ve called 8-9 times over the past 6 weeks for our 2 year old fridge that was deemed irreparable and we have no hint of when they will even consider our payout. Super frustrating….wish I could give negative stars

J*** from A****** P******* in M****** V**** came to my door promptly at 9:10am and completed the job of removing the old M*** Cartridge 1222 and installing the new cartridge in less than twenty minutes time. We were very happy with his service.

While I have been a satisfied customer in the past, my recent experience has been, and continues to be, awful! I have multiple accounts with AHS as I have rental properties, but this was service to my residence. It was a plumbing issue. The first contractor they sent did not do "this type of job." The second one kept pushing me to do a repair that AHS said they would not cover and was much more $$$$. Finally, I asked and was told, I could cancel with their contractor and get compensated for one of my own choosing. I spent 8 to 10 phone calls, all with long waits, to try to get answers as to what I needed to do. I was told on several occasions the company, AHS, would call me back. No, they did not. I tried emailing twice. No response. Finally, and probably due to a BBB complaint against them, I got a hard copy letter through the snail mail system. And then it was not even close to addressing my problem and request. It was all about how they do not pay for "access" to the plumbing leak, something they told me 7 or more calls (by me) back. This is not even related to the actual plumbing fix (not counting "access") at all. Still zero answer to my questions and no "reimbursement." Oh, and, yes, if the plumber has to work behind your cabinets (kitchen) or under your floor, you must pay for that (and their replacement) yourself! But this was not relevant to me as my choice of plumbers did little more that cut through some dry wall through the cabinets, no tearing out or other major stuff as the their contractor had alluded to doing. And, again, this is not what AHS is being asked to reimburse me for. It is the plumbing problem, replacement of piping, that sort of stuff. I am disgusted with them. But I shall continue to pursue whatever means to get a straight answer and hopefully reimbursement from them.

American Home Shield is the worst Home warranty company. Their coverage claims to provide replacement coverage. In the past two years they have failed to cover full replacements. Our water heater failed and we still needed to pay $1200 out of pocket for a replacement. In December 2018 our 6 year old Bosch French Door refrigerator developed an icemaker / water system issue. They had 2 different companies come out to attempt a repair and finally after the last repairman took the entire refrigerator apart he claimed it was unrepairable. American Home shield said the refrigerator is not covered for replacement. What a huge scam. I now have to purchase a new refrigerator for $1600. Both AG APPLIANCE REPAIR and American Home Shield should be responsible for being incompetent. I'm really fed up with American Home Shield. On top of this they still want $75.00 for the service fee. Give me a break. Replace my refrigerator.

We have had American Home Shield since we moved into our house in 1995. AHS has provided excellent and timely customer service. The contractors that we have encountered have always been responsive and resolved any problems in a timely manner. On one occasion, we had an issue that kept surfacing; the contractor returned on several occasions to correct the issue at no charge and ultimately corrected the issue altogether! Highly recommend AHS!

I have used American Home Shield for over 7 years, and IF I were American Home Shield, I would be WISE to listen to the customers regarding sending "D & F" rated repair companies out for service calls. That being said, you will have have overall good to very-good results IF you understand the following: 1). With rare exception, their contractors are rated D- to F-. (I checked after they came). Sometimes the service tech/rep is inept and will require a second person (another day off from work) to come out and troubleshoot the problem. 2). Except for plumbers, You WILL likely need to take (minimum) 2 days away from work for each call. Service reps do not engage in "guessing" what is wrong with your washer/dryer/oven or refrigerator, and will not likely bring the repair parts with them, which means you will be having a return-call-back service call. (Only one fee, just MUCH time lost at work). 3). They have the right to repair your device, and if it is high-cost item (25 year old in wall dual oven for example), prepare to be without it for up to 6 weeks as they send out the part for repair. Oh they offer you alternatives BUT only a fraction of the replacement value. I still went with the repair, and it took 8 weeks. 4). 10% of the time, You may need to call and sit on hold for 20-30 minutes to resolve repair issues and find out what is holding up your service... Now for the good news: I have worked in the repair industry as a teenager; I learned much from being on the receiving side of the customer's hostility, so with all things patience is key to successfully getting things fixed. To date, I have had my Washer repaired, several plumbing issues resolved, new refrigerator and my new dual-in-wall oven replaced. I don't have the time, tools or expertise to fix some of these issues. American Home Warranty has come through every time to my satisfaction. Face it, Home repairs SUCK, but not having AHS insurance is unthinkable! Thank you AHS for my new oven it works WONDERFUL! Dave Reynolds, Mission Viejo, Ca.

American Home Shield sent us contractors to fix electrical live wires sparking on top of insulation in the attic. When the contractor showed up days later, they did not have a ladder tall enough to get into the attic and when told what the problem was, they said they didn\'t have the tools to fix it and would have to reschedule. American Home Shield promptly billed us $75 for this visit. Platinum Contractors never called back even after leaving messages for them. After American Home Shield got them to reschedule to fix the problem, Platinum called us and told us that American Home Shield said it wasn't a covered expense. Good thing the house didn't burn down in the meantime. I spent at least a half hour on the phone and had to request speaking to a supervisor to get the $75 taken off our account which they finally did. We had to get our own electrician out to fix the issue. Ridiculous.

I was a little uncertain about signing a contract with AHS I am a single mom and am struggling. The responsibility of this aging house and all that's in it is overwhelming sometimes. I did sign and OMG! am I glad I did. I feel like I have a caring partner. Now when I have a problem, all I have to do is pick up the phone and the courteous AHS representative takes the info about what when and where and within a short time (sometimes 20 minutes) I have an appointment scheduled with reputable professionals. The experts are on time, calling, checking in following up. The service is excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!

American Home Shield (AHS)terrible support. Needed service on my refrigerator since it wasn't getting cold. The service guys they sent out to my house were a joke. They refused to pay for the repair because they said the refrigerator was dusty and not made to be installed in the cabinet( Counter Depth )even though the manufacture said it was. $400.00 after the first repair and $75.00 deductible that i paid the first guy to get my fridge to work, it was getting hot again. Requested for a 2nd opinion and paid another $75.00 for a total of $550.00 since i didn't want to deal with the first guy they sent. They wouldn't repair it. After several calls to AHS to file a complaint, they wouldn't return my calls. I ended up buying a new one. Stay away from this place unless you want to throw your money away.

Worst company I've ever dealt with. Shoddy contractors and poor quality work. I've had a broken air conditioner for more than 3 weeks now and it's still not fixed. The contractor, Rollin Air, Inc. has violated the California Civil Law "No Show" twice that requires the contractor to show up to a scheduled appointment within the four hour windoe scheduled. For the Record, that Law is Section 1722 if CA Civil Code. I will not be renewing my policy with AHS needless to say.
