American Home Shield (AHS)
I have been a part of this company for a couple of years now. I hadn’t really used it because I thought the problems had to be severe. I’ve been having performance issues with my dishwasher for almost a year, so I called. It was so quick and easy. They are replacing it. The entire process took less than a week.

AHS has been amazing on scheduling the right technician for the job appliances. I got a technician (C****) from Sears to repair my washer machine do to it wasnt filling up with water completely, but the technician did good diagnostic and told me that the machine is perfectly fine it is just regulated for water saving. C**** has been on time and was professional the whole time when he was working on my washer machine and thanks for the honesty. I would recommend AHS to anyone thats is looking to protect their home appliances.

Buyers BEWARE this company is a joke. I\'ve been trying to resolve and issue from back in July 2020. The plumber this company sent out cut their snake and left it in our main plumbing line. We asked for help with American Home Shield to have the contactor they sent out to have them remove their snake. Our water lines is backed up which we knew would happen. A second plumber came out and let AHS know that due to the 1st plumber leaving their snake in our main line that it has caused more damage to our home and that he could not even help us clean out the line until the snake is removed. The plumber went on to say that USA plumbing should've removed their line. I've been calling since July 2020 to get this issue resolved. I can't seem to get anyone to help. All our lines are now backed up we can't use our toilet, shower and kitchen, This horrible especially with the pandemic. It's not like we can run to the corner store and use their bathroom facilities. It's pretty bad when I've had to be on the phone calling to speak to the escalation or resolution department and get the run around. I've made over 6 calls this week alone. Wasted 4-5 hours of my time. No one seems to care.

First time I tried using my warranty on my dishwasher the tech told me he couldn’t fix the dishwasher until I had a plumber switch out my faucet and install an air vent, if I had that done then he could come fix the dishwasher on another service call even though I already paid the $100 deductible. Warranty co said they wouldn’t pay to repair the plumbing issue. Second time was for the AC, paid $100 deductible and a tech came out and fixed it. That was first week of April, now it’s second week of June and mind you I haven’t used the AC because it hasn’t been nearly wa enough too, however yesterday I turned it on and low and behold it doesn’t work. Same thing as last time, but according to the tech and warranty company neither will come back and look at it because I’m just over 60 days so I’ll have to put in another separate claim, pay another $100 just to have it looked at again! I’m beyond irritated! Not worth the monthly cost & deductibles to just have to have outside contractors to the work for me out of pocket!

My heater quit on New Year's Eve around 5pm. I called American Home Sheild and the agent kept me on the line while she called several different contractors to see who could come the earliest, given the holiday. the contractor was at my house 8am Jan.2. He did a wonderful job and explained to me how my system worked.

My water heater decided to give up the ghost. I made a call to AHS and was told a plumber would contact me. Within 24 hours I had a new water heater and my wife was happy, so I can honestly say that the service I received was more than outstanding. Thank you..

I have been with AHS for approximatley 12 years if not more and I have nothing but the highest regard for the professional, efficient and personable service I have recieved from customer service staff. They are always concerned with assisting me in getting a positive solution to my repairs or problem. I somtimes request a past contractor and they always afford me that choice. The contractors are also professional and arrive at the quoted time of the day. They always explain to me or my son the problem and the solution to the repairs. Out of all the my years with AHS I have only lodged 1 complaint against a contractor and was taken very serious by AHS. I was given a refund and another contractor after which AHS called me to ensure that everything was to my satisfaction. I have never had a contractor not leave the area of repair the same way he/she found it they always take all old parts and wrappings with them refusing to leave it in my trash. My only suggestion would be to reward long standing and loyal customers with a locked in payments, the cost would be the only, only reason I would leave AHS. I am on a fixed income and hope to continue to afford my AHS services for many years to come.

Had a drain backup in the kitchen and laundry room. Put in a request for service and it was assigned to Performance Plumbing. I received a phone call from them that day and set up an appointment. Dave arrived right on time (in fact, if memory serves, a little early) and immediately identified the problem. He flushed out the line and gave me some tips on how to avoid this happening again. Very pleased with AHS and Performance.

I have been a member of AHS for about two years. On the three repairs I have had to addressed, they have been late in contacting a repair organization, the work has been poor and the follow-up has been "zero". It is as if they look for the lowest priced vendor or repair organization, and you truly get what you pay for. In speaking to AHS reps, they are often rude and unprofessional and rarely do I get a return call when I ask. I have waiting on the phone for over 45 minutes to get to a person and the overall response time is always late. After seeing many other positive reviews, perhaps my location is "one off"? But they are not an organization I would recommend.

American Home Shield (AHS)
Not being very knowledgeable about electrical, plumbing, or any other household issues, and not wanting to call every friend to see if they know someone who knows someone, I elected to purchase a American Home Shield policy. The first time I called for electrical issues and another a plumbing problem. In both instances I was pleasantly surprised when the contractor called me back the same day and scheduled to come the very next day. When do you ever get that type of response. I've called major dept stores for service and if you are lucky it's a week. The contractors who showed up were very professional and took their time troubleshooting the problem. I felt confident that every aspect was considered and never felt that they were allotting only so much time for the service call-- in other words fix it quick and out of here. The servicemen checked, double checked, thought outside the box including me in what they were thinking every step of the way. I guess I was concerned the contractors used might be the "lowest bid" type of quality-- and was pleasantly surprised to find just the opposite was true.
