Service technician was sent to assess issue with our washer He diagnosed the issue as a bad gearbox Not sure why but AHS elected to repair rather than replace. 1 1/2 weeks later same tech came to repair. He worked very hard for 2 hours to replace the gear box but could not get the washer broke down enough to make the repair. Another more than a week past and we got notified that ASH would replace our washer . It seems that AHS incurred additional costs in attempting a repair of a very old washer instead of replacing it initially. We are very happy with our replacement washer. However, due to the process we were without a washing machine for more than 4 weeks. Not the time frame I anticipated from AHS.

They don\'t cover the upstand alone freezer .i have had some issues. But most of the time been happy. Some of the repairs has taken a bit to long. Been with ahs for about 15 yrs. it has not taken long to get repairs done but we live in California we have what it is called a swamp cooler . When it is cheaper to use than central air to cool your home. It still has not been repaired almost three weeks out. I'm not happy with this repair.

I called in to get hot water heater looked at. I had someone here the next day. I was able to get it replaced within a couple of days because it fell on a weekend. Contractor had it up and running in no time. He cleaned any mess up and you wouldn't know he was even here. I am so happy with American Home Shield.

Be extremely careful when calling in for service. When taking the call, they don't ask for specifics. When the service tech arrives at your home, they have every loop hole imaginable for why the repair isn't covered under their contract. I call AHS for a broken ceiling fan. They took the call but when the tech arrived, he said the light fixture is not covered, as part of the plan. The light fixture is connected to the fan. The tech also said because a part was missing, the fixture was not covered. But they still expected me to pay the trade service fee, which I refused. The fan WAS broken because a part was missing. This type of double talk is extremely common with AHS. Check the terms of your contract very carefully. A lot of the items covered are really "partially" covered. This company is a rip off.

My toilet was refilling at different times. It was not consistent, but my water bill was three times the normal fee. So I shut off the valve below the toilet and the water bill went back to normal. I kept calling this company and they sent out three different plumbers who refused to investigate the problem, and told me I was making it up. The last plumber they sent was verbally abusive to me!!! They charged me the deductible 3 times and still did not fix the problem. Customer service reps were rude. This is the WORST COMPANY I ever had to deal with. This went on from April to October and it was NOT fixed. I had to call my own plumber who found the problem immediately and repaired it and AHS would not pay the bill. I would NEVER recommend this company.

American Home Shield has been great to work with. It seems they have a hard time finding local contractors in my area as most are sent from cities at least 35 miles away. Most of the contractors I have dealt with show up on time and are able to fix my problem the first time. I have used AHS for about 30 years. Even though the deductible and the premium paid have gone up over the years I still feel it is a good value. Paying only $75 to have a repair person come out and fix everything is great - normally just to have someone come out would be that much, then you would have to pay for parts too!

terrible service, I'm a two year customer, never turned in a claim. Had their service person show up for a dishwasher repair; very unprofessional, LATE,and rude. Received a call from Old Republic stating they are declining the repair. Even though service man said it was a defective part. I will NOT be renewing when my contract is up.
