American Home Shield (AHS)
Filing the claim was fast and easy, the follow-up not so much! Repair person arrived and diagnosed problem. Refrigerator needed to be replaced, he spoke with a rep who hung up on him, next day my serviced call said closed, no remarks no follow up. I called and was on HOLD for 1.5 hours, (yes that’s 90 minutes) spoke with an rep who said I needed to speak with replacement dept. she transferred my call, on HOLD for one hour and 15 minutes before speaking with someone else. The second rep. said she needed to speak with someone else to get the approval, on HOLD another 35 minutes. Confirmed the refrigerator would be replaced, received the confirmation email. Chose the replacement option I wanted, but have yet to get any sort of reply confirming my option. Another call this afternoon, expecting a long wait again?. Need the refrigerator NOW! I realize we’re living in difficult times, but the wait time on the phone truly is unacceptable.

This home warranty company is the absolute worst. It is a waste of money and of time. They contract with terrible vendors who can\'t get the job done and have zero escalation process. I\'ve had a request open for 7 weeks, with the same vendor coming and going trying to fix (a dishwasher) and they have zero urgency to get this wrapped up. Completely useless.

American Home Shield (AHS)
They set me up with a plumber who never called and never showed. I had to call AHS over and over and they contacted the plumber over and over who still didn't respond. AHS refused to give me a new plumber, instead I had to go without a kitchen sink for almost 3 weeks. I finally told them to cash me out and they only want to give me $115 total. Good luck finding a faucet and a plumber to install it for that price!

They set me up with a plumber who never called and never showed. I had to call AHS over and over again and they called the plumber over and over again and they never responded. I asked them to set me up with a different contractor and they refused. It's going on 3 weeks now and no kitchen sink! I asked them to cash me out for the job and they only want to give me $115. Good luck trying to find a faucet and a plumber to install it for that price! So angry with them, never ever will I do business with them again!

I've been pretty happy with ORHP. I got HI Tech for my other house in Santa Barbara because the house calls were less, and am very disappointed. After looking at the reviews here for ORHP, I may shop to see what other companies do for their clients. My recent purchased home had a couple of issues. Hi Tech did not cover it since they claimed the appliance was old (2005) and falling apart when I bought the house. Who was to know? It worked fine the first few months in this house. I'm very disappointed with such claims from the warranty company.
