Repair and replacement of bathroom parts were timely, it did however take two weeks to get the part. Plumber showed up on time and the repair was quick and efficient

No resolution, no call back from a supervisor issue still not resolved after claim was placed 16 days ago. Our air conditioner broke during a heat wave. My daughter got sick from the heat. We have spent over $600 on hotels which probably would have been cheaper just to pay to fix it myself with a reputable AC company.

We\'ve used them a couple of times; the telephone customer service was excellent. However, the first time a technician came out for our A/C was a waste of our time, he didn\'t repair the unit and actually entered our back yard without my permission even though there\'s a warning sign that we have dogs. We had to have AHS send out a second technician who was courteous and efficient. In reviewing some of the other reviews, I think it depends on your location as to the reliable service you receive. We have another service call to make so we'll see how that goes.

Customer service reps promise service providers will call within 24 hours to set up appointments and it doesn\'t happen. I\'ve been left on hold for 10-30 minutes at a time the the phone gets disconnected and I have to call back to be put on hold again. When customer service reps finally get on the phone they are incompetent and fail at active listening quite frequently. The general impression ORHP gives me is "how can we avoid paying these claims but keep the customers renewing their policies every year." They make it so difficult to get a claim resolved, it's probably better to cancel the policy altogether and pay the fees out of pocket for whatever work needs to be done. At least you have the option to shop around and choose a quality company to do quality work in accordance with your schedule. Additionally, you eliminate the orhp waste of time and money middleman.

TERRIBLE COMPANY -I would say after several years with this company their accounting and services where not good. I spent hours on the phone to resolve accounting issues and also their technicians for repair were not good. I will recommend to stay away from this company unless you want to spend hours on the phone. Honest.

Had to call in for th ext warranty. After about 30 minutes got it scheduled for 2 days later, not too bad. My appt is between 12-4 so i get home at 12. About 30 minutes later i open the door, nice weather, and see a card on my screen. The 3rd party repair company said my number was bad and to call them. I called and they gave me i dont know who\'s phone number and proceeded to tell me the repair guy was here at 11 and I said wow my appt is 12-4. I was then told well that is when you want it and we try to accomodate but he cant get back there today and basiclaly i could wait all day tomorrow for him to come by. I called the warranty number and was told wow they dropped the ball but nothing we can do. The one time i try the warranty and this stuff happens. Not again. I too have in the past purchased everything at Lowes but now and rethinking this.

My most recent experience was very good. The contractor came out the same day and I was able to keep in contact on his progress. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. This was one of the more pleasant and easier experiences I have had so far.

I came on here to rip this place a new one, and wow! Seems like every customer beat me to the punch! Like many folks on here, I was given the run around on my very first call. Bad start, but I kept my humor about it. Like a lot of folks on here, this warranty was purchased by the sellers of my house. Like just about everybody on here, I am paying out of pocket to get the repairs done. It seems they have no interest in repeat customers, or in honoring their contract, or in doing anything except taking your money. In my case, they said the appliances in my home had to have worked for me, personally, as I physically pushed the buttons with my very own fingers. The home inspection report that said these appliances were working wasn't good enough. They cited their Terms and Conditions, which they refused to send me as per the contract. I suppose I could have lied, and they certainly made it known to me that they encourage people to do so, but frankly, my integrity is worth far more than a few hundred bucks. And, of course, they choose contractors based on how they don't fix things, rather than just paying a professional to do it right. So I'll keep my integrity...and of course my $385 when they start bugging me for a renewal. On a final note, this company is pathetic. I don't have AC, I don't have fancy appliances...I don't even have a garage door opener. There's practically nothing to cover, except four older easily repaired/cheaply replaced appliances. I usually fix my own stuff, I'm pretty easy going, and I like having a home warranty just in case. This is the kind of customer most businesses dream about. Except Old Republic.

I had no hot water, so I call AHS and the contractor was at my house the next day. He was able to get the replacement part and repair my heater by the following day. All in all, I would say that was a reasonable amount of time to expect repair.

a denied service for my AC. I talked to 4 persons from old republic and each one gave me different excuses. I have a contract number 22539265 with the old republic home protection since 02/14/2015 and two other contracts for another two properties. during all this period I asked for service 3 times. 2 of them denied and the accepted one they changed the regulator for me and I had to pay the company they sent $300 to fix the plumbing issues I was complaining of. this time is the third for the three houses and the second of the same house. I got a water leak from the AC on the roof of the property and the leak caused the ceiling to fall down. I called the insurance of the house and they were very helpful with me and they send a company at the same day to clean up, dry, and patch. later the insurance sent its assessors to diagnose the cause of this water leak and they told me that the leak was from the AC. I called the old republic and I put my claim for service. the guys went there and get vanished. I called the old republic 1-Alicia told me yr AC was not covered in yr policy and when I told her I am ultimate plan not the standard she told me that I am right and the AC was included. one hour later another girl called me and told me that my claim 54824350 was denied because there is duct work which was not wear and tear I asked her to refer me to her supervisor 2- Mr. Art told me there r intentional duct crash I told him disregard the ducts I will repair but please stop the water leak from the AC down to the house. he told me its only a matter of maintenance and the old republic was not responsible for that. after that I spoke with another supervisor 3- Jordin and he promised to send another company to check and he sent the superior plumbing heating and AC order 54885724. I met the man over there and he checked everything and he told me the AC was old but working properly and need nothing and I told him awesome so please come and do the duct work and I will pay u. both the two companies refused to work in my AC and were satisfied by telling that everything is Ok. I asked for another company to come to examine my Ac they told me the draining pan was rusted and drop water to the house and this issue is difficult to resolve and they recommend to change all the unit. now I recognized that the Old republic just want to escape responsibility

I have been with them for 5 years and will be cancelling my contract when up! In the beginning they were GREAT! Now it takes about 30 minutes to talk to a customer service rep so I honestly think they only have 1.. and they are denying all my claims now... AFTER they send someone out and I Pay my $75 deductible! This last time they sent a plumber out who didn't have the part and it was gonna take DAYS to get the part and my water is running and he can't shut off and I have a piece RIGHT THERE.. and he can't install it??? Then they tell me they will give me $55 to get another plumber to do it??? ANOTHER PLUMBER IS $300!! Serriously.. I'm jumping ship because this company seems to be losing money or something that they don't want to cover any repairs!!

Old Republic Home Protection

Rating starRating starRating starRating starRating star

There was a time Old Republic was the best company by far that I recommended to all my clients for over 12 years at least. Sorry to say within the last year they dropped the ball not with one of my clients, but 2 different clients. The worst part is I called many times to my Rep and to their person in charge of customer service to try and get the file reviewed and work out a solution for an error in the initial placing of policy plan and never did I get them to recognize or speak with me about the problem. The homeowner never had reason to call for service until the 9 month into the policy just to look at an A/C concern.... not inop, just a concern. after stalling and not returning 5 calls, the policy lapsed and they still never called me to attempt a workout. I gave them all my business for over 12 years and they even told me at one time how happy they are: my clients rarely call for service. Thats because my clients always get home inspections before closing escrow so we know what doesn't work. I am an experienced Realtor (26 yrs) who would eagerly pay for their top of the line policy (over $450)for my client without regrets. UNTIL NOW. I will never again recommend them to anyone. They don't care about doing what is right for the customer or handling customer service to want to work together with customers, agents or screen the repair narrative of what their contractors put on the invoice as to why they think repair was needed or outside the policy guidelines. Since when is a plumber also a licensed geologist and expert in earthquake activity to say an earthquake caused a water pipe clog. Especially when there were NO reports of earthquakes in the area. This was on another client who ended up paying over $3000 and Old Republic paid zero. Not even the drain clearing. It doesn't matter if you buy the Cadillac policy from them, they figure a way for it to fit their exclusion part of the policy.

I filed a claim for a kitchen drain. They sent a plumber who was not able to see the extension of the problem because the drain was in the crawl space. The second plumber was not able to see the drain either, but the estimated the leak to be there for more than a year and the cost to fix it about 18 hundred. Old Rep said that because the problem has been there for more than a year, they would not allow the claim. The plumber also gave us an estimate of 1K to fix it on this own time. I called Old Rep, to ask for a second opinion because the second plumber did go under the crawl space to see leak. He made his estimate from 8 feet away. The Old Rep customer representative said that they can not do second opinions unless I have another plumber provide conflicting information. I ended up fixing the leak myself for less than fifty bucks... The service that Old Rep home warranty provides is not worth it the money I pay for it.

I've been an AHS customer for 23 years, and I have paid at least $15k in annual fees over those years. On the positive side, AHS will process a request for service very quickly, and if the repair is not much out of their pocket; all does go well. However, when there is going to be a substantial cost to them, they appear to look for ways out of being liable. My pool heater went bad only to have an AHS sponsored repair company (All American Pools) show up and provide me terrible customer service. This company's lack of cummunication and inability to follow directions was deplorable (another story in itself). They provided limited information to AHS, so AHS decides to not cover repair or replacement because of "poor pool chemistry." That is a total joke. Not only did I build the pool, I maintain the chemicals myself and have the water tested weekly with a bioguard computer program water anaylzer. So I called and complained, and AHS quickly sent another pool company out (Golden West Pool Service)for a second opinion. The service tech that came out from this company was responsive, but he didn't even have to do anything because the prior pool repair company left my heater all apart on the ground. The GW tech quickly saw the heat exchanger had a slow leak that lead to the problem. Again though, AHS goes with the assumption that poor chemical makeup of my pool water was the cause, so it's not a covered repair. The heat exchanger is constructed of copper, and copper deteriorates over time from electrolysis. I've had to repair slab leaks because of such. I am positive that the heat exchanger developed a slow leak over time, and it was due to either electrolysis or poor craftsmanship from the factory. One thing I am sure of is that it was not a chemically imbalanced pool that caused my heat exchanger to develop a leak. It's clear to me that AHS looks for any way possible to get out of paying for a repair that exceeds a set dollar mark in their operation's plan, so I will be seeking another home warrantee company for sure. I will also stop referring real estate clients to AHS because of this horrible experience.
