American Home Shield will not fix your problems even with coverage. I bought my home in August, and the seller agreed to buy a home warranty with the purchase. With AHS it has been nothing but problems with them attempting to "beat around the bush" with the issues i have had, Mainly with my AC. The most recent issue was when my AC went out completely, leaving my 8 month pregnant wife and 1 1/2 year old kid without during a hot week in Florida. When the techs did finally come they said they would have to get authorization for the parts then get the parts and after all that reschedule a repair. So basically 2 weeks without AC in Florida. Doubt it... I hired my own tech to come out and look and repaired it on the spot within 30 minutes. The denied having to pay for the repairs. So not only does American Home Shield have garbage policies, they contract to the lowest bidder. After the fact I asked a rep if its possible to avoid future issues by replacing the entire unit and them cover a small portion (saving them money) and they said they would not unless it is recommended by a tech to do so. Understandable if the contracted techs were worth anything... I will not recommend anyone to ever use this company.

Still waiting on Gas Pipe leak repair. Was shut off by Gas Company, Called AHS, they sent a plumber who didnt do gas. Sent a second plumber weeks later, still awaiting the repair to be completed. It has been 2 months, unresolved, with a hole cut in my ceiling and a gas pipe with a nail head hole in it. No gas fireplace in the winter. The contractor is friendly, it is a difficult hob, but they arent having great lick getting a $10 part to finish the job, and there is no communication with me, so I have to keep calling them,

Conversation via Facebook because it is the only means of contact, the CS call center does not answer the phone: "Tue 1:05pm So I am reading the comments here and I have to agree! What is it that a company has no means of contacting to ask a question but on Facebook messenger?! There is something so wrong with this! So there is no way to speak to anyone, no CS Reps ever answer the phone, you do not list an email address? And one person said if we cancel our policy for any reason you tack on a $2500. fee? Please answer ALL these concerns promptly!" reply:"Irene, Please send us your contact information or property address and phone number via direct message and we will reach out to you regarding your concerns. Thanks" my answer...with the info needed... reply:"Thank you, we will have a representative follow up with you as quickly as possible." my inquiry to lack of response:"I will await to hear from someone, seriously you need to fix your call center... and again today 1/18/2015 5:07pm "HELLO? I've been waiting almost 4 weeks without my hot water heater fixed and if I don't get the check by Saturday I'm going to pursue legal action by Monday. Customer service by phone is very poor. Endless pre recorded messages and loops. Takes 15 minutes or more to get a service rep. Follow through is poor as well. This is the first year I used AHS, I won't make this mistake again.
