We called American Home Shield to have our AC fixed, it was leaking and not cooling. After they sent 3 different AC companies it was found that our AC would not be covered under warranty since apparently it was under capacity. We asked them 4 separate time to send us a letter stating they would not cover the AC. They kept telling us it was sent in the mail, then they were going to send it via email but had to get permission first. We never received the letter neither in the mail or email. Every time we have had to call AHS, they send us companies that have the worst ratings with the BBB and other sites that show reviews. The BBB shows that there have been 10,747 complaints closed in last 3 years and 3,973 complaints closed in last 12 months . that averages out to be 300+ complaints a month.

Do not do business with these people. They are totally inept. All they do is put out an all call like a car tow job and whoever answers is what you get. I cancelled these clowns after they booked me with AC repairs with a shop over 200 miles from my house, twice. They never showed or called. After waiting hours on their poorly serviced call line, I got a local company that ended up being complete crooks. If I could I would rate 5 negatives stars for this company. I am not interested in resolving anything with these people, just to warn others to stay far away.

These people are FRAUDS. Their technicians are a joke. I have had 4 different diagnosis on hvac and it\'s still not fixed. None of them know what they are doing. 3 weeks later and it\'s still 80 on my house and I\'ve got a baby. Not only that they have denied the final claim but no one will call me back. The company rep Geoff Davis told me he personally knew the president of Total Air Care and 3 days later I've gotten No response. I am looking into suing them.

Horrible if it only happened once it would be one thing but 3 time ??? I am realtor I have sold this policy to several clients and I regret it. You get a service call fast enough but after that the companies they used, in my case AC repair are super busy and have no time. In one instance it took months for the AC to be fixed properly and that after several calls and waiting on line for an hour or so. Most recently they needed a part for the AC unit. It took 3 days for AHS to allow it and 11 days later still nothing. The clients call me because of the poor service. I sell a house and now after the sale I have to get involved because of the lack of communication letting us know what is happening with the repair. I was on the chat line yesterday (could not wait a hour on the phone) and all they would tell me is the part is on order. In this day and age, you can track delivery. But not AHS they have no clue and that is what I was told. So sometime in the future it will be repaired. They are very fast on getting your money but very slow at getting you serviced.

I DO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS A GREAT DECISION TO OBTAIN THIS KIND OF HOME WARRANTY. SO FAR AHS HAS PROVEN TO BE BENEFICIAL FOR ME AS A HOME OWNER, ALTHOUGH I ONLY HAD ONE GARBAGE DISPOSAL CLAIM TO DATE. AHS WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL IN EXPLAINING TO ME WHAT TO EXPECT. THE SERVICE TECH CAME OUT AS PROMISED, ALTHOUGH IT WAS AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE. GLAD THEY MADE IT. A QUICK NOTE: (DO NOT USE GIFT CARD CREDIT CARDS, AHS IS NOT SETUP TO ACCEPT THEM. EVEN IF THEY GIVE YOU AN APPROVAL NUMBER, IT WILL NOT COMPLETE. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME BY GIFT CARD COMPANY THAT AHS IS ONLY SETUP FOR RE-OCCURRING CHARGES ONLY, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT A CARD THAT CANNOT BE CHARGED OVER AGAIN. TRUST ME, I TRIED. NOT SO CONVENIENT.) Purchased fridge . Broke 3 times in first year under manufacturer warranty. first two times took them 7 days to repair it. All food went bad. Third time was hassling for seven days. Repair company said it can not be repaired. Lowe\'s was trying to send another repair company. I had to speak with Frigidare directly . They told me thay are waiting on Lowes people to send additional documentation for unit replacement etc etc. Absolutely horrible customer service at Lowe's side.

I have 6 contracts with AHS and I have more negative experiences than positive. Some of the companies AHS relies on to tell them the work needed in my experience has been not been the actual problem after getting other companies to bid on the same job. Out of 5 calls 3 have been incorrect diagnoses which would have been covered if they did actual resolve correct problem. In my opinion AHS needs someone to protect the customer from this problem unfortunately there are not so honest companies. I don't feel that my hard money needs to be spent on a contract that does not help me incase of a problem or does not see that some issues should not be left to a customer service agent that does not have the experience to diagnose a problem.

This is a sub par company. I was advised just today after trying to file a complaint about a contractor that AHS sent to my home for AC repairs, that this company is known for using contractors that cannot get business on their own. They must pay a small portion on the dollar to send customers to these contractors. The contractor they sent to me caused damage to my home and now AHS will not even call me back. They will also not transfer me to a higher up manager for assistance. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. PLUS, every time i call it takes 20+ minutes on hold to get to an agent. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

The last repair I had the contractor was very knowledgeble about what he was fixing and really went beyond the call of duty. Something minor was also wrong and in his mind it all related to the product he was fixing and he fixed it as well. I had no idea it was not working and by doing the repair now saved everyone moneyand time. He created a very satisfied customer.
