I\'ve used my service plan twice. The first was an issue with my washing machine drain and most recently my garage door. I like the convenience and simplicity of securing a contractor to assess the problem and/or complete any repairs needed. However, in both cases the repairs were not covered. I ended up having paid my service fee(no problem), plus the cost of the repair. The garage door problem was resolved. But, the issue with the water not draining and backing up and running over was not. The service technician arrived with the exact same equipment that had been used prior, and the problem still exists. But, he proceeded, which was fruitless. I ended up having to pay an additional plumber to fix the problem. All this, in addition to my monthly membership fee. I don't feel that the AHS plans are worth the money paid, which is now about $570 a year. I've had the contract with AHS since 8/2017. Do the math. I'm going to cancel my service.

I have had membership with American Home Shield since January 2019. As misfortune would have it, my washing machine began displaying a F21 code. Service was assigned quickly and the washer was repaired promptly. The AMTEC SERVICES INC contractor was on time within the window given to me and was very professional. He knew immediately what the problem was but had to order a part for the washer. Within three working days, my washer was repaired. I am extremely happy with service I have received from American Home Shield.

When I bought this house, I paid extra $150 (on top of what the seller was willing to pay) to choose AHS as the home warranty provider even though other company was cheaper. This turned out to be a mistake. Recently the faucet for the water supply to the washing machine started leaking. Since this is a covered incident, I called AHS to get a plumber to fix it. The plumber found the faucet had to be replaced and called AHS for approval. Surprisingly AHS considered this as "modification" and denied this request. Since AHS was not covering this job, I let the plumber go and called several plumbing companies to seek for a better bid. Then I found my credit card was charged for a service fee for that trip!!! All the plumber I found offered free on-site estimate and even the AHS contractor gave me a $0 bill for the trip because he did not do anything, but AHS charged me and refused to refund even after I called them to explain the situation!!!. I will never buy AHS and will cancel the service contracts for all my properties under AHS. Don't buy AHS, stay away from them!!!

It took average of 60 minutes or more to speak to live customer service. It was going to take at least three days to receive plumbing service so I cancelled the warranties on all my 4 houses.

We experienced a clogged pipe in the kitchen. The contractor called shortly after we completed the online request for service. An appointment was scheduled for first thing the following morning. The contractor arrived on time listened to our explanation of the problem and went quickly to work solving it. Upon completion the contractor encouraged us to confirm that all was working correctly.

A cold winder in Texas. My Reverse Heating and cooling system went out. I called for service, In a few days the part was ordered and replaced. They did not try to fix and sell me a add-on filter system as when I had it serviced in the past. The technician was polite knowledgeable. and respectful of me and my house, as he took off his shoes so as not to get our carpeting dirty He had to make two trips to get the job done, he called about half an hour before coming each time. It was a very un-tress full procedure.
